Pros: Very nice staff! We got picked up from the boat which was awesome as it would have been quite a hike with all our luggage! Room is fine, little terraces are nice.

Cons: The kitchen had only one burner which limited our cooking abilities a little.

Pros: It was a simple room but with everything you need. Very clean! More then we expected from a hotel in the 'jungle'. It has a nice little terrace in front of the room where you can relax after a day hiking in Corcovado. Good food at the restaurant. Close to the beach. We had a great stay!

Cons: It was a bit noisy. A lot of screaming kids and the hotel is situated on the main road. With a supermarket accros (Wich is convenient) it is a hangout for people on motorcycles. It is a bit far from the little town centre. You have to walk up a hill to get there for more restaurants.

Pros: the staff are lovely. so informative and kind, and very welcoming. the kitchen was simple, and there's a grocery across the street, very helpful.

Cons: it was fine with me.

Pros: Nearby restaurant was nice and a short walk to the beach. The town has a great relaxed vibe and everyone was reaslly friendly. great for nearby wildlife.

Pros: Spacious and very clean (cleaning every day, whats not the standard here). nice little terrace with hammock, supermarket and restaurant close.

Cons: no breakfast, besides that highly to recommend

Pros: Staff was great. First, we were picked-up at the boat which we did not expect. Actually, it is a pretty bumpy way when you need to walk with your backpack. For sure you won't manage walking with luggage. At Mirian's they arranged snorkeling and the trip to Corcovado for us and they even walked us to the meeting place. We had a great breakfast at Carey's next door and their provided dinner was also good. The room itself was simple but complete including a little, cute kitchen

Cons: The view into the garden was more a view onto parking cars. Still, they do efforts and planting beautiful bushes that attract birds and butterflies

Pros: Mirian, the owner is very kind and ready to help you organize. Rooms were very clean and the position, 5 min from the beach.

Cons: Manager - not sympathetic at all, not to say worse. Always having impression of bothering him when asking for something. Very different from all the very noce and helpful costarican hosts... Made the stay way less enjoyable in my opinion

Cons: Very rude manager. For him are guests disturbing THINGS. For him is important just that you bay a trip to Cano Island or sommething else. Trip is not worth,nothing special to see ,too expensive. Pictures on Bookink are not showing true conditions in the rooms. Very bad, or you will pay a lot.

Pros: Great location on the beach and close to town. All the staff were great, particularly the manager who was friendly and had good suggestions for tours and took care of booking them.

Cons: Rooms were basic, bathroom even more so. Cleaning could be improved. Not good value for money.

Cons: There were No Comfortable Chairs .....on the balcony , near the beach or in the room... sitting in the restaurant is the best option. The walls between rooms are very thin, fortunately the ocean masks sounds

Pros: Wonderful. Watched birds and life as we ate. Orlando is an excellent guide. We enjoyed the entire staff. They are welcoming and very attentive.

Cons: many steps to walk to reach the rooms on the hill. Only these rooms have AIrcon, the rooms at sealevel are without A/C.

Pros: The place is just a small paradise! Right at the beach, waking up with the howler monkeys. Hearing Tucans and Scarlet Macaws. The tours were properly organized. We enjoyed our get away very much.

Cons: For us the volutunteers could have been more of service. Serving dinner when they don't know what food they are serving and when we arrived it was all a bit fast and we didn't receive all the information. One familymember wanted to go diving, the manager said that it wasn't possible to arrange a tour just for one. So she went on a snorkling trip with three other familymembers. They were on the boat with another group, a group that went diving... So she was very disappointed she couldn't go when it would have been possible.

Pros: This beautiful and friendly site is under new management. The mother-daughter team is working hard to upgrade the site. The beds were comfortable, the food excellent and the staff that is willing to help you whenever they can. The beach site is along the Drake trail so getting into town or out into the jungle is a matter of turning left or right from your tent site or staying put for a swim. All boat taxis make a regular stop here for tours or getting in or out to Sierpe so transportation is not an issue.

Cons: The showers were temperamental so the temperature was not always what you wanted. Electrical outlets were limited so you had to plan out what needed to be charged and what could wait.

Pros: Verry helpfull people, nice food, exalent location

Pros: Beachfront property, pretty friendly staff. Isolated, trails easy to spot, beaches are gorgeous. wildlife everywhere..woke to howler monkeys every morning, whales seen from beach.

Cons: Great to have food included due to being over an hour away from a village. but the times changed on a daily basis and if your out hiking you have to be close enough to get back for meals as its everyone eats at same time. Breakfast is always the same, lunches and dinner are very good but small portions and everyone got some type of stomach issue while staying. Took 3 days to clear mine and one lady was really bad off and slept her 3 days there. The Corcovado tour was long which was great 4 hours at the park, but I feel a better guide would have helped us see more. I would go again. bring in snacks and book tours through Drake.

Pros: It was very isolated which was perfect for me.

Pros: Clean room. Shared bathroom. Close to beach within a short walk. Good restaurant attached. Staffers friendly and helpful.

Cons: Small room and only one toilet for many people and two showers.

Pros: Amazing ocean views, plenty of birds and other wildlife around, quiet, good food.

Cons: Monkeys had a way of getting inside the room to steal food. One morning we had to scare one off. Perfect alarm clock!

Pros: The location and surrounding terrain were awesome. Best location in all of Costa Rica

Cons: The food portions were often times smaller based on if there were busier nights.

Pros: This is a wonderful place to stay and get away from it all! We were able to relax, enjoy nature and the many secluded beaches around the natural reserve. Bahia Drake is an hour walk along the gorgeous coast; we loved walking this trail. Jenny, the manager, was fantastic! She was attentive, informative and very helpful. I would definitely come back to Punta Marenco.

Cons: Unfortunately, our trip to Caño Island was not the best experience. The guide was almost an hour late and did not seem very knowledgeable or passionate about his job. It didn't help that the sea was very turbulent and so many of the corals were dead, hence so little sea life...a bit sad.

Pros: The rooms and the community area have an amazing view and the location is great. It’s truely one of the best places to stay when visiting Drake Bay. You are staying in the middle of the jungle.

Cons: We stayed there for 4 nights and they didn’t clean the room or offered us fresh towels. The food is okay but we expected a little bit more for what they charge $15 (dinner).

Pros: Great communal feel, great meeting people from all over the world, exchanging stories and photos.

Cons: Water was not always available in the bathroom.

Pros: The remoteness is refreshing. The lunch and dinner (at extra cost) is of great quality. Helpful staff.

Cons: The 'road' to and from the property was barely passable even at the start of the dry season and with our 4 x 4. No bedside tables or lights and no sockets. No balcony light. There is no hot water which in itself is not bad but it should be mentioned on the website!. No food allowed in the cabin as the monkeys break in through the netting ceiling (could easily be remedied with a wooden ceiling!).

Pros: The end of the road - we were in paradise, there was just us and the birds and jungle creatures.

Pros: Beautiful location overlooking ocean with easy access to beach. Boat access to Corcovado NP and Isla de Cano. Terrific staff and good food.

Pros: Beautiful remote location. Very conscientious and professional staff. Good access to Corcovado National Park. Simple, rustic open air cabins. Easy walk to beaches. Lots of wildlife. Great birding location.

Pros: The location is beautiful and quiet. We have seen a lot of birds and animals around.

Cons: They are not reliable on booking tours at all. They have cancelled us once and didn’t even tell us. Also, when you pay a tour by card it doesn’t work as they only take a picture of your card, and by surprise at the end of the tour you have to go to Drake Bay and pay at the tour’s office terminal. They didn’t mention that booking with cash is cheaper until we got there. Their in-house night tour was pathetic. They tell you to be ready for tours or meals at certain time and everything starts late without notice. Also, It’s highly expensive considering the lack of infrastructure and personnel. Drinkable water, power sockets, and wifi, all available only at reception, so you need to pack all your bottles, mobile devices and chargers when going to reception. Sometimes there’s no free socket. Wifi signal is super low even there. Other times there’s no drinkable water, so you have to wait until they refill a 20 litre bucket (only one for all), but as regularly there’s only one person attending everybody you need to wait. Food portions are very small at lunch, right when people come starving from tours and activities.

Pros: Unbelievably beautiful! Sustainable and delicious!

Pros: Best Hotel in the Drake Bay Area. Súper friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are beautiful, super private and very spacious. Air conditioner is a plus in the area! Delicious food in the in-house restaurant with an awesome view to the Pacific. Will come back! Thanks guys!

Pros: I was so impressed. WOW! The staff was so lovely, knowledgeable and available. The chef and staff were very accommodating with my diet and I ate so well (and healthy). The grounds and room were gorgeous, clean and relaxing. You could chill or be active - there were loads of things to do whether you book a tour or go for a stroll on your own. I was originally hesitant about the cost, but now that I'm back I am so grateful I stayed here. It was a trip I'll never forget and I got incredible value. I've already starting encouraging my friends and family to go.

Cons: The internet connection could've been stronger in the room, but it was actually good to disconnect for a few days so all good!
