Located in North Orlando, this boutique hotel is within a 10-minute walk of Rollins College, Winter Park Historical Museum, and Cornell Fine Arts Museum. All Fired Up and Winter Park Country Club are also within 15 minutes.
Pros: Stayed here for the Florida Film Festival for two nights. Picked a room with a king bed for me and my wife, and the room was much larger than I anticipated, with a separate seating area and desk. Shower was hot and comfortable, there's a decently stocked snack shop in the lobby. Free WiFi (although you can pay for faster speed). Staff was very friendly. Very clean.
Cons: Breakfast was just okay for me. Did have hot items, but kind of small and not a ton of options. If I was staying for business, I'd eat the free breakfast and be on my way perfectly happy. For a vacation, I like to enjoy a nice breakfast, so we went elsewhere the second day.
Pros: The staff was very friendly. They were very accommodating and seemed generally concerned about the guests' well-being. The hotel was very clean and of course updated due to it's relatively new age. Hampton Inns are the hotel of choice that I typically stay in and I enjoyed this particular location the most thus far out of all my Hampton Inn lodging experiences.
Cons: I will say that I thought due to it's location (lack of tourist attractions etc.) that the price was a bit high. It isn't in a prime location so, that is why I found the price to be a little high. That wasn't a total disappointment, but I think closer to around $80-90/night for my type of room would be more acceptable. Especially when a traveling business individual has a budget for hotel lodging :)
Pros: Hotel was clean, great location, breakfast was good and the staff was very polite.
Pros: The suite was very spacious, comfortable and very nicely furnished. The dinning area was inviting and easy to maneuver. The entire staff, from registration, to buffet bar to housekeeping was friendly, accommodating and always smiling. It was a pleasure to stay here. If the opportunity should arise to return to the Maitland/Orlando area again, I would definitely return to Homewood Suites.
Cons: I reserved a room one week before an important business event and received email confirmations through Kayak and Homewood Suites. When I arrived to check in the night before, I learned that the manager had overbooked and had given away my room for the night. No phone call, no email, no warning at all. I have never been more disgusted with a hotel's business practices. I strongly recommend against booking with this hotel if you expect reliability or honesty. Truly disgusting.

Pros: We were assigned to the Club floor. The room was very comfortable. Plenty of room to move around and not get in each others way. The bedding and linens were were excellent, the mattress was perfect and the linens were soft not scratchy. The bathroom was large with plenty of space to put our personal toiletries. The shower was great. The breakfast in the club room was just what I wanted. The best part was there were no screaming kids running in the hallways.
The hotel location was close to an assortment of great restaurants and shopping. All around great experience. I will definitely stay here again when in the area.
Cons: Can't think of a thing.
Pros: Very clean
Pros: The pool and lobby are nice but that is it really.
Cons: I had to kill a cockroach on my first night there and there is constant construction around the area. The rooms were also quite dusty.
Pros: The hotel was beautiful and new. The rooms were large and beds comfortable. The location was great, close to where we needed to be and easy to get in and out of. Breakfast buffet was delicious and the service was excellent. Check in was quick and efficient. Did not get to take advantage of the pool because the weather was rainy but we will come back to this hotel.
Cons: Ant infestation.
Pros: The hotel was clean and beautiful; the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Our room was near where, I think, the garbage was collected and it was very loud during the one night. Also, Wi-Fi was only available in the lobby and not in the rooms which was very inconvenient. Almost all other hotels offer Wi-Fi throughout their hotel.
Pros: If you get a chance- definitely get the club room. It give you access to a members only location with fresh coffee and food in the morning, plus appetizers in the evening. It's a great place to relax, watch tv, and get your mind right for the next day. The personnel working in the club room were amazing, especially Lillian! Great hostess; coming by saying hi and seeing if there was anything I needed, making normal casual conversation. The next time I have a choice to pick- I'm picking Sheraton and asking if they have have a similar club room at the location.
Pros: As always, very wonderful stay
Pros: The bed was amazingly comfy.
Cons: Water pressure in shower was poor.
Pros: Irish pub - drinks and food were great. Pool area was gorgeous! I wish we'd had time to check it out.
Cons: Bed was not very comfortable - perhaps it's time to replace. Check in desk only had one staff member, and three guests were checking in before us, so we stood for quite awhile waiting to check in.
Pros: all was well, we were treated with the utmost respect and courtesy, room was cleaner than clean, good location, comfortable beds
Cons: They charge for internet! Who does that?

Pros: Hotel staff is excellent always greet you with good morning good night have a wonderful day etc...breakfast was also delicious on a daily basis. Would definitely recommend here and will rebook for future stay.
Pros: The room was huge, clean, and more than you could ask for. We will definitely stay here again.
Pros: Free breakfast.
Cons: Our room was not clean when we checked in. There was a water bottle cap on the floor, showing that no one picked up. There was a used hand towel and used bar of soap on the bathroom counter, and head hair in the bath tub.
Will definitely stay again
Pros: The home feeling
Cons: Not one thing
Pros: The ability to be in more than just a hotel room.
Cons: Not a thing.
Pros: More like an apartment. Pleasantly surprised to get a full kitchen.
Cons: Deadbolt not working, no sound on some TV channels, dead electrical outlet, toilet seat would not stay up. Breakfast: eggs cold.
Pros: couldnt check in till 3pm as they wait until all the rooms are ready
Nice hotel, with easy access to I-4.
Pros: Location and price
Cons: The unprofessional staffer at the front desk.
Pros: I liked the free alcohol and how comfy and Big the room was
Cons: The housekeeper asked when we were leaving so she could clean the room I found that very rude because I had no intention of leaving until checkout time. She stood outside our door for 20 minutes felt very uncomfortable walking in and out. The TV if you go past channel 20 it will turn off and you'll have to reset and it did this five times to us it was very annoying. Ausel first suggestion at the drinking station you should have a list of fruity drinks instead of just having to say your own like the other embassies do same for the breakfast there should be a list of omelettes
Pros: Happy hour - although food could have been better but the breakfast buffet was fantastic
Cons: The fact that the walk around the lake was closed, one of the reasons I picked this hotel was fora nice walk inthemorning
Pros: Rooms all have separate bedroom with a door, which is good for kids that need their own room to sleep well, like small kids in a crib. Pretty good included breakfast. Large atrium, lobby area with some fountains and seating, which my 2.5 year old son enjoyed. Clean rooms, comfy bed.
Cons: Kind of a bunch of mostly small issues for us, but added up to being a bit annoying. A/C made a jarringly loud bang every 30 minutes or so, but I'm a sound sleeper. Low ceiling in shower (no prob for me, I'm 5'4, but shower head is only about 5'6 above floor), and no bath tub, which is better for young kids than a shower. Multiple issues with the front desk in getting the booking right - twice my room keys stopped working because they thought I should have checked out already. Unusable WiFi (do not stay here if you are counting on their complimentary WiFi to do any work) and a bad cell reception for using your data instead. And all the cords connecting the TV were completely unhooked when we arrived (but I knew how to hook it back up). And there was a sketchy thumb drive left in the room. Preferred my last stay at the Hampton Inn that's a bit cheaper and literally 2 minutes away.
Pros: The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful. Out first night the a/c was broken and we had to move to another room. There was no hassle to make the change and they were very quick to make the adjustment, new room, and a nice credit to the restaurant on site. Very nice and we thank you. Pet friendly makes this location so much more attractive since our pet is family too. The breakfast is really outstanding. We enjoyed our stay... thank you.
Pros: Fabulous breakfast ... even custom cooking was quick and delicious. Free happy hour. Walking distance to parks, lake, and stores.
Cons: Location is kind of hidden.
Pros: From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcome and comfortable. The made to order breakfast included in the stay was delicious and extensive. The staff was helpful and friendly. Can't say enough! Will definitely return when we visit the area.
Pros: Check in was quick and friendly. Room cleanliness was excellent. No complaints. I would visit again.
Pros: This location is next to a lake/park with a walking trail. Nice morning walks.
Cons: It took the maids too long to get to our room. We were gone all day and come back around 4, and our room still had not been cleaned. His happened twice in two stays.
Pros: Location. It was close to my meeting location.
Cons: The bathroom shower had low water pressure
Pros: Attractive suite with kitchenette located close to major attractions and walking distance from a mall. Hot breakfast bar was well stocked.
Cons: Construction nearby was unsightly.
Pros: Had everything I needed
Pros: Clean room. Friendly staff. Close to all the activities we wanted to do.
Cons: Front door of rooms to hallways are not very sound proof. Noisy.
Pros: The front desk person was excellent, she accommodated my room request with a smile. The room was clean, carpet needs updating. Bed was comfortable. nice to have free WiFi.
Breakfast was typical for most hotels ; well stocked
Cons: Needs a new carpet or change entire room to wood .
There needs to be a bedside table on both side of the bed, there was only one on the Left. Would have liked more silverware as used one set that night and did not have one for am.
Would have liked full pillows rather than the half pillows given
Pros: Location right off of I-4 but slightly down the road away from the other motels.
Great Wi-Fi reception
Nice work table for computer.
Breakfast, with some hot-entrees, was slightly above average for the motel room rates. Canadian ham was very nice.
Cons: Over-all, the motel showed a little aging, but no glaring sore-points.
Breakfast area was very tiny and cramped. Only has elbow-to-elbow seating at tables for 16-people. Most people have to bring food back to room.
Would have liked bananas & whole-wheat bread as breakfast selections.
Scrambled eggs were somewhat "iffy".
No Ethernet port at work table.
Pros: Comfortable and clean, Good breakfast. Good value for money
Cons: Had a leaky Faucet in the bathroom which was not repaired after mentioning it to the front desk on 3 different days.
Pros: Room was clean, staff was friendly.
Cons: No maid service on weekend,
Pros: The hotel was clean relatively quiet, enjoyable
Cons: Parking was a little walk. I told them my coffee maker did not work only to be told they did not have a replacement available. Place was not sold out they could have found another.
Pros: The kitchenettes were exactly what we needed as well as the location for our visit. The price was well worth the value.
Cons: There was a lot of noise above us which made it disruptive to sleep. The AC was very loud so it was fine when it was on but it would turn off and on several times during the night which would wake us up. Would be nice to have a fan option on constantly. The bed was pretty saggy in the middle as well.
Pros: Room was plentiful with own microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, iron with board, hangers, frig, stove, plates and silverware. Bed was a queen size; nice and firm. Bathroom was clean with plenty of towels. The location does have a gym and laundry facility; didn't use them myself but, nice to have if you do on site.
Would stay again in the future.
Cons: One complaint I somewhat had was the noise. It wasn't too bad but, at times during the night from 9ish pm till when they stop, all I heard stomping/running coming from the upper floor (I was on the 2nd floor).
Pros: THE STAFF WAS WONDERFUL. ROOMS WERE COMFORTABLE. COFFEE WAS ALWAYS READY.
Cons: ROOMS COULD BE CLEANER. FOUND CANDY WRAPPERS UNDER THE CHAIR AND BED.
Pros: Looks and feels 1920's. We loved the location, staff, and fresh ground coffee which was delivered daily.
Cons: While we liked the fact the hardwood floors were more than likely original from 1922; we did not like the fact they creaked with every step. Also, our air conditioner made a periodic buzzing sound; however, we got used to it.
Adjacent to a golf course, Park Plaza Hotel is a great choice for a stay in Winter Park. Guests looking to stay active can check out the nearby hiking/biking trails and segway rentals/tours, and free perks include WiFi and continental breakfast daily between 7 AM and 10 AM. There's a garden, and rooms offer flat-screen TVs and room service.
Pros: The hotel is located just off of Interstate 4 and had many shops and restaurants nearby. We were 30 minutes from the airport, 30 minutes from Universal studios and about 15 minutes from Full Sail University.
The hotel provided breakfast vouchers for the breakfast buffet which saved ua quite a bit of money. The room was clean and stafg were quick to meet our needs.
Cons: My only complaints would be that the walls were paper thin and that there were no blankets for the pull-out bed. We did call the front desk and obtained blankets within 20 minutes.
Pros: The staff were helpful and pleasant. They did provide free internet.
The location was cheaper and closer to my Altamont Springs business trip location.
Cons: No free breakfast
The building and rooms are starting to show their age; however the facility and room was clean. There were no toiletries present on the first night.
Pros: staff was great, really nice and accommodating
couldn't beat the price
when I needed an extra room for additional attendees they were very accommodating and fair on the rate
Cons: first room was dirty and actually smelled like urine
second room was clean but didn't have toiletries
they had a sports team on the same floor making sleep a bit tough at times
Pros: The staff was helpful, and constantly asking how your stay was going. Room was clean, and updated. The down side to having a kitchen, is that you had to go to the front desk to get utensils, cooking pots and pans, and plates or bowls. Should consider having a small inventory in the room as well as a coffee pot.
Overall very comfortable, and clean.
Cons: When we arrived the room door was opened. There was a shower cap on the floor behind the bathroom door, a wash cloth was thrown over the shower bar pole & we had to kill two roaches in the room. The clerk offered another room however I had showered & I didn't want to risk catching a cold going out. It wasn't a good stay at all."
Pros: having a place to sleep after a long day
Cons: The extremely rude receptionist
The fire ant colony that attacked my feet
Pros: Hotels has roaches
Cons: Lots of roaches
Pros: AC was loud as all other hotels. But no real issue
Pros: Location was good, beds were comfortable.
Cons: I booked a non-smoking room, but it was obviously occupied by a smoker before I arrived. The smell was horrible. The front desk told me to run the AC unit to help with the smell. That didn't help. I won't be staying here again.
Pros: The pool was nice
Cons: The breakfast bar needed fruit
Cons: DO NOT STAY HERE!! The pictures are a complete lie. The rooms are very uncomfortable and dirty. I got a rash from sleeping in these beds! I would never ever ever stay here again! The breakfast, terrible. No hot food and the breads and pastry were old! Ugh terrible experience overall.
Pros: Convenient location just off of I-4. Affordable.
Cons: Upon opening the room door, I was overpowered by the mold/mildew in the room. When I exited the room at 6am the next morning to get coffee in the lobby, it was still pitch black outside, and the stairs down to the courtyard/fountain area were not lit. Misjudging where the landing was, b/c I couldn't see a thing, I did a header, sprawling out on the stone landing. I injured my ankle severely & hobbled to my business meeting later that morning (with no good story to tell, like going on a bender the night before & falling over drunk - just stayed at a cheap @$$ motel & fell down the dark stairs). When I thought things couldn't get any worse, I returned to the room to use the restroom, shower & dress. After going #2, I discovered the toilet wouldn't flush (b/c the tank was not filling with water). Next thing I know, I'm removing the tank lid & using the ice bucket to fill the tank w/ enough water to get the floaters to flush (a little trick I learned while traveling in Africa). If you'd like to experience the third world a stone's throw from Orlando and the amusement parks, then by all means stay here. If not, run the other way.
Cons: It's an old building with an old design.
The bathroom is extremely small.
Pros: location breakfast value. need a quiet convenient place from time to time for business. provided just what I was looking for.
Cons: everything was good
Cons: we arrived around 10 30 and I was waiting outside to check in while the man at the front desk took phone calls. As I was waiting, a cop pulled up looking for someone who was also staying there. There were young kids hanging out in the parking lot blasting music. Emergency vehicles were blocking the parking lot seaching for a woman. We got in the hotel and it was dirty. When we woke up there were bugs on the night stand. I picked up the TV Guide list to look at the channels and saw that there were crushed bugs on the bottom of it that had wiped off on me as I was looking at it. I had my 9 month old daughter with me and I did not feel safe. All in all I was pretty grossed out.
Pros: It is located right off of I4
Cons: Dirty, not just stains but actual dirt, like it hasn't been cleaned in years. Killed one German roach. This is not a place for families or anyone who is not a junkie or prostitute.
Pros: Older property fairly well maintained
Cons: It is a busy place, you may have to wait to check in, check out but the staff is very courteous.
Pros: Pool was awesome the layout of the room and location also the channels avaliable
Cons: One service lady was extremely rude , breakfast could have more options.
Pros: I didn't not like this hotel at all. It was filled with roaches. I was pretty discussed in the room. It might as well been a Roach hotel. I will never stay there again in my life.
Cons: The hotel was dirty. The carpeting should be replaced. I believe it was to dirty to clean. I personally wear white sox and had a new pair on. They were black within an hour. The ac/heater was broken. I called to complain and was told the maintenance man was there while we were gone to dinner. No one ever came to look at the heater which is also a fire hazard. The outlet did not have a plate on it and the carpeting was up in the outlet!! I have a picture of the outlet and a video. We were told we could not have another room and were offered extra blankets.! When I complained to the manager in the morning I was offered $10.00 off our next stay. That will not happen!! I will never stay there again!!!! I am contacting the fire Marshall and Days Inn corporate. I have never been treated so poorly!
Pros: Bed was clean. Complex pretty quiet at night. Convenient to some stores and restaurants. Waterfall pool looks cool.
Cons: Dirty room at arrival: used dental floss pickers on the floor, half drunk can of beer in fridge, greasy stains on carpet. The toilet lid was completely broken off and had been laid on the floor like "here, just put it back on top when you're done" (lol). Bathtub had black mold around the fixtures and the drain was cracked in multiple places and had a really funky odor. Neighborhood not great as there was police activity in the parking lot on and off most of the night and morning. This place used to be owned and operated by Howard Johnson but I can see why they no longer own it.
Pros: The pool was awesome and the staff was very accomodating
Cons: Not very clean, had roaches, ants and spiders! Fly d stuff from, previous renters between bed and night stand like deodorant which proves again housekeeping not very, good most equipment was busted had to switch, rooms due to,a noisy compressor new room toilet handle was broke bath looked like it hadn't been clean just would not stay again.
Pros: The pool, and my husband had the Complementary breakfast that he gave 3 stars..
Cons: Rust on the towel racks, there was a half eaten cookie on the floor next to the side table, from the previous guest, so the room was not properly cleaned ...
Pros: The convenience
Cons: They had roaches
Cons: It still has it's old Howard Johnson sign and internet, nothing identified it as the Altamonte Suites. Common areas dirty. The pool not clean, big black spots in the bottom. Furniture worn and broken. Our rooms security lock did not work. The furniture was stained. The rug was dirty. Our first room key did not work (4 floors on a slow, dirty elevator away) . When I got the right key,I found the room was occupied. It was after midnight. I made the employee check the second room. He came back and said it was missing washcloths and hand towels, did we want them. Breakfast was lacking. We could not take food back to the room and there was not much to choose from.
Pros: Room was clean and excellent continental breakfast.
Cons: Nothing specifically.
Pros: The hotel was cheap. We stayed one night just to get some sleep on a road trip.
Cons: Want too impressed with the room. Seemed old and falling apart. Bugs crawling on the floor in the bathroom and the pillows seemed like they've been washed too many times.
Pros: Price and location.
Cons: The need to upgrade facility's. Also need to upgrade television sets.
Cons: reservation was not there when I arrived...a man in parking lot tried to rob me, bad place..the hotel smelled, like people were selling crack in the lobby and dong it in the rooms, just horrible..worst hotel ever....
Cons: Spring break hotel, needs renovation.
Pros: The overall size of the rooms are nice. It had a pull out coach, just in case you needed it. The bed was comfortable. The pool was a plus. Nice, quiet, and relaxing for us; just we wanted.
Cons: The place needs an update, which isn't really a bad thing. Their breakfast was just enough to get you by, nothing special. The place does has its wear and tear, but not to unappealing.
Cons: The room was disgusting! The floor was soaking wet from a leak, the bathroom has cracks , mold, and the tub was stained yellow. The breakfast was just as disgusting abs I can't even describe the awfulness of everything. Do not waste your money here.! It should be torn down!
