the staff was very friendly and helpful and the access to the airport was great!
The bed position was uncomfortable. Although the hotel has WiFi available there is no convenient table to put a laptop on
Very clean and effficient. Spotless, close to airport, very very modern. This place was bizarre. We felt like the Jetson's. Space age, really. Very wierd experience
Almost everything. I really enjoyed my stay, and have recommended the hotel to colleagues. This is a 5-star hotel at budget prices, and if the format remains unchanged will be a huge success. Great news that one of the next hotels will be in Glasgow, which is my 'mother' city. No.
The modern style of the room with the technical enhancements and free movies on demand The shower was a bit tricky
The voip phone system - such a pleasure not to be ripped off for phone calls! The free wifi was also very fast. Lack off a small desk for a laptop. The little round tables would be ok except that the lamp stops the laptop from being opened comfortably.
Yes. Value for Money Since most of the functionalities are controlled by computer, it needs lot of improvements. The software misbehaves frequently. In the mid night, all lights switched on automatically, TV switched on automatically. Etc.. The shower Handle is tough to use (while the hand is wet)
I love the iPad-centric room controls. Great selection of newly released movies. Comfortable bed with a great TV setup. Temperature controls don't work very well - the room gets very cold at night even though I set the temperature to 70 Fahrenheit. The toilet and shower design are fun and just fine for a single traveler. When traveling with a partner, there "tube" designs dont provide any privacy, especially for the toilet. Perhaps adding a fan or some ambient noise to drown out toilet noises could help keep the mood romantic, hahaha!
Location at the Airport Terminal with easy access to Schiphol Plaza This is my second stay there for the last 12 months. However, this time the rate was almost double in comparison with the first time - November 2008!
I like the bar and staff I do not like the price. For this price the breakfast is free at other hotels.
Unique hotel located within walking distance of AMS airport. Very helpful staff and good hotel for a solo-traveler.
The location Furnishing of the rooms
Nothing exceptional springs to mind Badly stocked mini bar. No 24 hour restaurant/coffee shop
Calmness Had to pay EUR 100 for 4 days of broadband connection. Should be free inside the hotel.
Very relaxed friendly atmosphere
Top Location, Friendly Staff Rooms, even booked early and got a cheap price, do not match at all a 5 star hotel. The room rate compensated a bit for it, but definitely disappointed by a hotel which has such a famous name.
המלון עובר שיפוץ בלובי שלא ידענו בעת ההזמנה, אני חושב שזה פרט חשוב לדעת בעת ההזמנה, זה לא היה קריטי אבל רלוונטי. 25-5-2015
We have stayed at this hotel twice now and it is in an excellent central location. The hotel reception is beautiful and the rooms are also in keeping with this. Our recent room was very clean, comfortable big bed and with all the amenities that you would expect. Prior to this we have stayed in one of the suites which are excellent but of course pricey. The general rooms are a good price - not the cheapest but you do get what you pay for. We didnt book the breakfast as this made the room price too expensive.
The location was the best thing. The rooms were small, inefficient handling of processes and nothing that made me feel it to be a "grand 5* hotel". They should take a lesson from Germans in Efficiency... or another grand hotel in their neighborhood.
NH is the ground zero for Amsterdam
Location Scruffy corridors and dark bedrooms
Check in/ out not very efficient
Close to the airport
Friendly staff, early check in possibility
good position, bath and shower and separate toilet good no mini bar or air conditioning.Breakfast not always organised well.
The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are clean. far from city centre
Room was in need of renovation. Wallpaper peeling, stained carpet, door between rooms did not close and no control over heating.
While it's a half hour ride into Amsterdam, the hotel provides a bucolic respite from the hustle of the city and offers significant value.
Twin beds pushed together for a double, but were comfortable. Room was clean, staff helpful. We stay here once a year as we attend a fuction in the area. Each time we leave after work and arrive just about 10:00 pm. The restaurant next door to the hotel closes at 10:00. There is no restaurant in the hotel for dinner. There is no restaurant anywhere else near the hotel either. We drove around for 45 minutes and finally found a small kabob place and a pub. With all the businesses and backing up to a large residential area, we were surprised that there was absolutely nothing in the area in the way of restaurant, market or even a McDonalds. The bar in the hotel is open until 1:00 am. If you intend to arrive after 9:00 pm, make sure you have stopped to eat before you arrive.
The room is clean and wanderful. nothing.
pleasant staff very comfortable room it was nice and warm excellent breakfast, no
There are many choice of breakfast. We were very comfortable to sleep.
Three adults, including myself, stayed here a day before and after a cruise. The hotel was a great price and offered three single beds and a very large bathroom. Being from the U.S. with limited public transportation where I live, I did not realize that the tram is different than the train. We thought we could take the tram to and from the airport and port, but you need to take a taxi, so that was a little disappointing. The tram is an excellent way to get downtown, though. You pay right on the tram, 7.50 Euros for 24 hours. The staff was extremely helpful in giving directions regarding navigating the city and helping answer a variety of questions. They even ordered taxi pick up for us. No cotton washcloths No alcohol on the premises Small refrigerator No ice? Limited dining in the area Must take a taxi to/from airport or port, the train is too far to walk with luggage The price the hotel quoted us for the taxi was incorrect. The taxi companies charged more.
Location is awesome, ca. 20 mins to the old city with tram, tram station is just few steps away from hotel, if you come back late after 1:00 in the night, there is a bus connected Breakfast is good, 15 euro is cheap for Amsterdam.. Actually no
Great rate (much less than hotels downtown) and included free breakfast, wifi and had friendly helpful people who all spoke English. We did not realize that we would have to take a tram to the downtown part of Amsterdam where everything was located. If arriving with suitcase from train station, go out the BACK door of Central station and then go down stairs below and look for Tram 12 to get to hotel (2 stops) If not, it's a 10 min walk but a bit tricky initially to find. To go to the Airport, we had to take Tram 12 to Central Station and then the Train 1 stop to the airport. To go to the area of Amsterdam where most of the museums were, we had to take Tram 12 (near hotel & comes frequently) and then change to Tram 6. Since we were there for only 2 days we'd rather just step outside of our hotel and be in walking distance without public transportation. The hotel is basically in suburbia. (About 15 min or so into the City though.) The only option for dinner is their $29 buffet. There is a restaurant 5 min away, Cafe Pistau though that is excellent).
The tram is right outside of the hotel. Very convenient for traveling to the train station. There was also a store that was close by as well.
Great staff, one not so friendly but hey! This is Amsterdam! The rest more than made up for her. Very clean. Very modern. Very COMFORTABLE. Transportation into city center was not bad at all with bus and tram station nearby and a main train station within a 12 minute walk. Pay for breakfast, pricey but worth it. Everything was great, I plan to return and recommend to all my friends and family.
The staff was friendly & helpful we had a tram stop 5 minutes from the hotel that takes you to central Amsterdam you can buy day passes right at the Hotel. The breakfast bar was good but it's not cheap the same goes for the dinner. We ate in small cafes while touring Amsterdam it's a lot cheaper that way. No washcloth in the bathrooms they don't use them in Amsterdam so bring your own.Parking was 15 euros per day unless you can find a spot outside.
It was so easy. Without exception all the staff were as helpful and friendly as could be. Service was first rate. Between them the bars/restaurants and Room service provided a good variety of meals and experience, no chance to get bored there. I found the level of lighting a bit low/dull, particularly in the bedroom. I guess it is fine if you only sleep there, but not if you spend time in your room.
Location and facilities. It was a beautiful hotel. We loved our room. It was great!
Nice rooms with large comfy beds. Great location just across from Central Station and the drop off point for the bus to and from the ferry. Staff were friendly and attentive and the price for the room was very reasonable. All in all a great hotel!
It a good hotel. One of the best in town. Good location, good room and view.
the room booked was'nt the same room that was shown on the pictures
Location is strategic, opposite train sation and nearby many attractions -
great idea was the late checkout on the Sunday Staff very helpful and nice welcome on arrival- rooms were very clean and housekeeping staff did excellent job
Location Room was not refurbished
I had stayed at the Barbizon before and found that it was still up to the same high standards as previously experienced.
Location is excellent. I have stayed in numerous hotels in Amsterdam and the Barbizon is probably the best. NO
The bedroom was very comfortable The first room I had was very noisy because the double glazing window was broken - they moved me to another room but I felt the first room should not have been available
food, concierge, services, fantastic hotel we were charged for bar food that we did not like and sent back to the kitchen. The burger was rare (should not be rare if minced meat) and the chicken was underdone and no 'leeks julienne' was served with it, though advertised on the menu.
The hotel has great restaurants. My room was in need of a refurbisment and was certainly not 5 star. Shower did not have enought pressure. Cheap toilet paper. Paint at the bottom of the door was completely coming off. I have stayed in better hotels in Amsterdam (e.g. Dylan)
The staff members were friendly and accommodating My room was not cleaned until quite late in the afternoon. I had expected it to be done earlier.
very nice and good hotel. It is little bit far away from the center of the city.
The breakfast is great. Over priced - not value for money.
Location and extensive facilities of the Okura; excellent staff and services.
Great health club, very nice deluxe room Air conditioning didn't cool very well, furniture in room had defective drawers, cost of laundry service was outrageous, there isn't a good "normal, everyday" restaurant in hotel - all restaurants are expensive and fancy
the location liked every thing
I am particularly greatfull to Louis (staff) who made my stay amazingly wonderfull the house keeping.. i recognize that we left the room a mess, but when we came back the only thing they did was the bed! they didn´t reload the mini bar, or clean the tables..
Perfect business hotel - great facilities and attentive staff. Good choice of restaurants within the hotel.
Comfy bed, decent breakfast. Noise from outside room
Good location & shuttle convenience. Good food in the restaurants in hotel premises. Housekeeping staff waked us in the morning for the cleaning the room which was highly unexpected. Over all it's ok.
No remarks it is an Ibis Hotel... nothing more... low cost but with Breakfast as an extra or anything else that you may get as standard in other hotels this hotel become as it is less attractive... Room service should be available...as a proper Restaurant Menu as well, not only badly grilled meat with frozen potato’s over fried pretending to be French fries... worst than any Mac... that’s all what it is available no matter which meal name you select...
The airport is very close to this hotel which is part of the reason we selected it; it has a shuttle bus which is convenient as we had only 13 hours between flights home to the states. No complaints
Superb trip, a three night couples trip as a European city break perfectly comfortable and romantic trip. Staff were incredibley helpful especially on arrival to give details of the public transport that we have and advice on getting around the city, the shuttle bus was excellent and a great help. The only concern was probably that breakfast cost was a tad steep in comparison to the room, but the buffet style made the most of it. That's really the only slight downside, on the whole the cost was a good price
The free shuttle, with frequent trips, was excellent. Always on time and never had to wait long for the next shuttle. Also started early so was able to get to airport to meet a 5:30am flight. N/A
rounge there are no driyer.
The food and the shuttle service was good. The Wi-fi facility has to be improved as i was not happy with the service of T-Mobile Hotspot as it got disconnected after 10 minutes.
close to aeroport, clean not very family friendly.
The free and frequent airport bus shuttle was great.
Lots of restaurants with fast food- quick and easy when you are on the move. The noise levels in the hotel are not good as the cleaners are working 24/7 and this is not good!!
Clean comfortable rooms; adequate facilities in the rooms; great for a quick stop-over; convenient airport transfer nothing
I was impressed by the level of service from the personnel. I had forgotten my BB in the hotel , so I called in five minutes they called me back to say that they had found it.
Late dinner, early breakfast, airport shuttel Airplane nois in the morning
Due to shuttle from Airport the queue for check in was bad - 10 mins
convenient to airport - lovely dining room and delicious food. it was a little further from the airport than we thought and we were very isolated.
The food in the restaurant, the wonderful and welcoming open fire and the very high standard of interior design which was very stylish. We have stayed at this hotel over 20 times both on business and pleasure and love it. Despite this however the Manager was unable to offer any form of refund when we explained our Son and his friends would not be joining us for his 18th Birthday weekend as Birmingham Airport had been closed and all flights cancelled. a little understanding would have softened the blow as we were all devastated, especially as his Grandmother, to whom he was very close had died 4 weeks earlier and we were all really looking forward to a wonderful break. This lack of flexibility is my only critisism of what is otherwise an excellent hotel.
The Quad rooms are really huge and very comfortable. More than sufficient for our family of 2A and 3 C. The free bus shuttle between the hotel and airport is very convenient and runs on time. Reception staff were very helpful. They let me use their PC and allowed me to take a few pages printout. Rooms had no kettle. The walk from reception to the rooms using two separate lifts was a bit tiresome. No help from the hotel for this.
quality of your dining facilities and quality iof the food
Good price- bus to airport was very convenient and free. Good deal for price. Hotel hallways (and to some extent the room) smelled like weed and cigarettes. Budget rooms were very outdated and didn't feel very clean.
It was quiet and convenient.
Comfort and value
Free shuttle to the airport. The rug was stained and one of the upholstered chair was soiled. Also, no coffee pot or supplies in the room.
Clean , tidy Reception was a bit cryptic, not so freindly and lacking in advice
very good hotel, friendly staff, very nice rooms. expensive breakfast, a little bit far away from the Center
Check in time is too late, 15:00.
Food parking facilities good isolation from streetnoise view from cocktail bar on top of the building No information of costs of sauna, this was a surprise at check out Water streaming in the bathroom while showering No bathrobes
We liked the mirrors (especially the big one in front of the bed) and also the window between the room and the shower :). We also loved that we could sleep till late. The location is quite convenient, it's very easy to get from and to the airport (Lelylaan station), and also to the city centre (trams 1 and 17). In the shower there was a mild smell of sewer, from the drainage. Also, the toilet should have its own sink.
The room was really nice and comfortable. Very modern with good facilities in the room and hotel. The location was ok only a ten minute walk to the tram which takes you straight into the city of Amsterdam. Was nice to be close to the city but away from all the hustle and bustle. The staff were helpful and advised me and my partner on any information we needed regarding getting to different places we wanted to visit. The Skyy bar on the tenth floor was great. Gorgeous decor and the cocktails were fab!! Overall our trip was really good and would definatly stay there again and recommend to others. The only thing was having to pay to use the sauna in the spa although the swimming pool was free it was expensive to the sauna. Every spa hotel I have stayed in it was free so I wouldn't have expected to have to pay for this.
Good room Room towards the motorway. Earplugs helped.
breakfast was good althought expensive (17 euro pp), a lot of choice. The swimming pool was not that big but okay for a quick swim Using the sauna was an extra cost (10 euro pp), the lounge area was not always clean
Our stay at the hotel was fantastic, probably one of the nicest hotels we have every stayed in. The price was very reasonable, and it was easy access to the centre of the city. The room was beautiful, and clean. We had a lovely stay, thank you. There was nothing that we didn't like during our stay at the hotel.
The room was an absolute fantastic room. Spacious, stylish, comfortable and clean. The staff wereaslo friendly and helpful. Extremely close to the centre although if you are not familiar with the area a sat nav would be an advantage
Excellent all round! Will definitely stay here on future trips to Amsterdam. No iron or bathrobes!
Lovely comfortable room, nice decor, loved the dimming lamps. We had to queue to check in, and after our long journey to get there, we were tired and wanted to go up to our room as quick as possible.
Hotel staffs were professional and polite. Free Wifi is a bonus! It will be nice if breakfast is included.
Great staff knowledgeable about area and willing to answer questions and provide direction. Rooms are clean.
Location Being overcharged/ They cached my deposit and failed to return it! (50 Euros)
Good colours, style of reception and breakfastroon was pleasant, fireplace at receiption were really nice. No fitness room at the hotel. Wholefloor carpet is not same style than other things. Corridors ugly.
location, nice hotel
The location and the quality, cleaness of the hotel
The staff are excellent I do Think Ther price is high
WiFi did not work in my room (signal too weak) but worked well in lobby
Excellent location, 3 minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal
The attitude and helpfulness of staff was very good. Cleanliness and presentation was good The location suited us very well The breakfast room was too much of a crush and could have been laid out better. The afternoon coffee and evening bar facilities were given low priority.
I do not recommend this hotel.
The staff was helpful and friendly. Beds were comfortable, but small. No good coffee in the room. Housekeeper did not take a fast food garbage bag out. She left it exactly where I left it. No hotel shuttle, like you would expect with a 4 or 5 *
staff wanted 1 bouble and 1 twin room got 2 doubles
The room was great, the staff was very nice, and I had a great experience overall. The restaurant is pricey. I ate dinner in town. Breakfast is reasonable, if you reserve it the night prior. Good food though.
Friendly staff, comfortable beds. Breakfast was to expensive so we went out to eat.
We very much liked the hospitality in your hotel especially during breakfast the staff was helpful and gave us a comfortable feeling It was a pity that the shower was leaking into the bathroom and the water gathered round the toilet which made the floor very slippery.
This is the third visit to the hotel. This is a very clean hotel and we have no complaints about service. The restaurant and bar prices are very high compared with other establishments we visited. The heating in the room was inadequate and we could not get it higher, the weather was very cold at the time of our visit.
They made me sign a pre-authorization with the room rates + 50 euros per day for frigobar (so expensive). When I did my check out (I paid in cash) they couldn't cancel this pre-authorization with the machine (they sent a fax to the credit card office) and I am always very afraid of this kind of cancellation. I had to change my room 3 times (the door didn't close well, they gave me a double bed but I have asked for 2 sigle beds, etc). They didn't have someone to help with the luggage (when I arrived and left the hotel).
Service wonderful! Only complaint, a/c not strong enough
The hotel overall was ok. The room was clean and had nice amenities. The staff was polite. I was a bit disappointed that we had a hard time getting a hold of room service on a couple of occasions. Also, we were awakened by loud noises made by the staff on the first morning after we arrived. We were exhausted from travel and could not go back to sleep because of the distractions.
A fantastic hotel with superb staff. Very helpful and welcoming.

Beautiful hotel, great architecture, friendly staff, facilities in room (like nespresso machine, free minibar and great bed), right in the city centre, reasonable prices for food and drinks. Just a small thing: the hotel is a bit of a maze, takes a bit to figure out how to get from your room to the reception, but the staff told me that new signs will be there soon
Art Nouveau hotel;you need to like it to enjoy the hotel, which is beautifull than ; large rooms, well equiped (surprising free of charge minibar, including alcool),nice restaurant and buffet breakfast(a little bit expensive) ,beautifull spa with swimingpool.Close to the railwaystation,at the border of the old centrum. Reception not "5 stars" due to small office, waiting time if some other people arriving simulteanously , and to few personnel at the concierge office !
Good comfortable rooms Hotel still being refurbished, so some things not yet finished in hotel and the room. i.e. no toilet door and shower leaked badly as door seal seemed to be missing. However, the room was comfortable and the bed was simply delightful.
The best things in the hotel are the free minibar, the location and the helpful concierge employee mr.Roel Smits. Overall my staying in the hotel did not meet my expectation (I expected more for what I paid).
The Staff, The atmosphere, the cleanliness, and the service...
Beautiful hotel, very new, nice comfort inside, especially the coffee in the room The glass bathroom door is spectecular, but somewhat unusual for me.
good area and historical building
everything it waas a very nice stay more light in the room. That's my only remark. Please do something about this because it's too dark in the room!!!
it was an amazing hotel ,the room was superb , the hotel is located neer by the sentral station i liked everything
A big bed and a see-through shower The shower leaked, it was no great problem however
CitizenM is a quite stylish place to stay in Amsterdam. Downtown is easy to reach taking the tram. The entertainment system and the large bed add a great value to the comfortable atmosphere in the room.
I liked the unique design, mood lighting, and automation of the bedrooms. The canteen and lobby are a great idea and are very comfortable. Most of the staff were fantastic. There are parking issues, especially on weekends. Most parking metres operate on prepaid cards and the closest cash metre was 3 blocks away and only accepted coins, which at over €21 was a lot of change. One lady at hotel refused to make change for me and forced me to go into the shops several blocked away and told me it's not their problem.
For people going to the rai exhibition centre, the location is excellent. Its a short walk through a pleasant park. Citizen m is not for me. I found it pretentious, amateurish and over- ppriced. The staff are all youngsters in t-shirts and baseball boots. The breakfast was terrible and eaten at high stools to loud techno music. Check-in and check-out are done on computers and you have to pay an extra fee to use a credit card - the only time I have ever been asked to do this in a hotel. The room was uncomfortable with the bed filling the window end and the shower, lavatory and wash-basin (the size of a coffee cup) in the room with you. There was the feel of the 1960s cult tv programme, The Prisoner, about it.
Ideal for design lovers. I have particularly appreciated to spend time in the different areas of the lobby where you can feel to be like at home. Downtown can be easly reached with bus n. 5. Older people might find difficulties in dealing with such a technological hotel.
Ideal place for the young couple with the habit of being always online
The hotel is nice, warm and very well located beside the tram line to town. I was worried it was a little far out but with the tram across the street you're only about 10minutes from centraal. There is no privacy really in the bedrooms - the way the shower and toilet are you would really want to be very comfortable with who you're travelling with!
Staying at the hotel was an experience of its own. Amsterdam is great, but I found myself wanting to come back to the hotel to explore all the cool amenities. While the tram is conveniently close, it is a pain to go to and from the city center because it's a 20 minute journey of its own.
staff was very accommodating. : internet access; the snack area I asked for 2 beds and did not know the rooms only had one bed; the shower leaked all over the room; the sink drained slowly; I did not like the bathroom and shower open to the room. No desk; no place to put your luggage; no desk; no place to watch TV unless you sat on the bed
I picked the place as it was close to the conference I had to attend. I definetely enjoyed my stay. Appreciated the quality of the bed, bedlinen, even shower gel was very good, which is not typical for hotels at all. Hotel is very stylish. You can get a snack and a drink any time of the day and night. Staff was very professional and easy going. Definetelly a yes. I understand that the hotel is not for all the types of travellers. You are not supposed to spend a lot of time inside the room, just change, have a shower, sleep or relax and watch tv. For that purpose rooms is suited perfectly. If you want to work or spend more time in the room, you have to go downstairs. It is really the hotel for the young type of travellers. What distrubed me a bit was the temperature in the room and a bit of noise at night. Nothing dramatic though.
