Close to the airport
The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are clean. far from city centre
The room is clean and wanderful. nothing.
pleasant staff very comfortable room it was nice and warm excellent breakfast, no
Friendly staff, early check in possibility
There are many choice of breakfast. We were very comfortable to sleep.
Room was in need of renovation. Wallpaper peeling, stained carpet, door between rooms did not close and no control over heating.
Twin beds pushed together for a double, but were comfortable. Room was clean, staff helpful. We stay here once a year as we attend a fuction in the area. Each time we leave after work and arrive just about 10:00 pm. The restaurant next door to the hotel closes at 10:00. There is no restaurant in the hotel for dinner. There is no restaurant anywhere else near the hotel either. We drove around for 45 minutes and finally found a small kabob place and a pub. With all the businesses and backing up to a large residential area, we were surprised that there was absolutely nothing in the area in the way of restaurant, market or even a McDonalds. The bar in the hotel is open until 1:00 am. If you intend to arrive after 9:00 pm, make sure you have stopped to eat before you arrive.
While it's a half hour ride into Amsterdam, the hotel provides a bucolic respite from the hustle of the city and offers significant value.
good position, bath and shower and separate toilet good no mini bar or air conditioning.Breakfast not always organised well.
Efficiency, comfort. nothing. it was perfect.
Free TV & Movies Shower & Toilet in the room with transparent enclosure - not for the shy.
A good idea for an airport hotel. Almost like a hostel. Real service even though there is simplified check in and check out. Well thought out room and superior amenities on the main floor. I recommend this for an surprised overnight. No provision for luggage.
I love the iPad-centric room controls. Great selection of newly released movies. Comfortable bed with a great TV setup. Temperature controls don't work very well - the room gets very cold at night even though I set the temperature to 70 Fahrenheit. The toilet and shower design are fun and just fine for a single traveler. When traveling with a partner, there "tube" designs dont provide any privacy, especially for the toilet. Perhaps adding a fan or some ambient noise to drown out toilet noises could help keep the mood romantic, hahaha!
Clean comfy room, great common areas, makes you feel at home. Will definitely stay here again. 5 minute walk to the airport, no need for taxi or shuttle
We spent a night here in transit between Brussels and Den Haag. Walking distance from Schiphol Plaza. Self check-in and check-out feature was very convenient. Room decor was modern. All room light/tv/blinds were controlled with an ipad. WiFi was great. TV had a good selection of channels (for us- we watched comedy central). We got to store our luggage for a few hours after checking out which was extremely convenient. Hotel manager was excellent. There was a leak with our shower, which actually made it unclear how the thing worked! So we wasted almost an hour in the morning. The hotel manager was EXTREMELY helpful... wish we'd asked him for assistance immediately!
Bed was very comfortable. Very avant-garde. Mood lights, TV, everything can be controlled by the in room iPad. Bar and areas downstairs provide all kinds of environments for different people and activities. Buffet was good and reasonable. Charging 3 euro to use a major credit card.
Very nice shower. Clean, trendy room. Very unique. Room was small. Room Controls for lights, heat, etc did not work well.
The check in time No place for suitcase
Lots of restaurants with fast food- quick and easy when you are on the move. The noise levels in the hotel are not good as the cleaners are working 24/7 and this is not good!!
rounge there are no driyer.
The free shuttle, with frequent trips, was excellent. Always on time and never had to wait long for the next shuttle. Also started early so was able to get to airport to meet a 5:30am flight. N/A
Good location & shuttle convenience. Good food in the restaurants in hotel premises. Housekeeping staff waked us in the morning for the cleaning the room which was highly unexpected. Over all it's ok.
Comfy bed, decent breakfast. Noise from outside room
The airport is very close to this hotel which is part of the reason we selected it; it has a shuttle bus which is convenient as we had only 13 hours between flights home to the states. No complaints
Superb trip, a three night couples trip as a European city break perfectly comfortable and romantic trip. Staff were incredibley helpful especially on arrival to give details of the public transport that we have and advice on getting around the city, the shuttle bus was excellent and a great help. The only concern was probably that breakfast cost was a tad steep in comparison to the room, but the buffet style made the most of it. That's really the only slight downside, on the whole the cost was a good price
close to aeroport, clean not very family friendly.
The free and frequent airport bus shuttle was great.
The food and the shuttle service was good. The Wi-fi facility has to be improved as i was not happy with the service of T-Mobile Hotspot as it got disconnected after 10 minutes.
Clean comfortable rooms; adequate facilities in the rooms; great for a quick stop-over; convenient airport transfer nothing
No remarks it is an Ibis Hotel... nothing more... low cost but with Breakfast as an extra or anything else that you may get as standard in other hotels this hotel become as it is less attractive... Room service should be available...as a proper Restaurant Menu as well, not only badly grilled meat with frozen potato’s over fried pretending to be French fries... worst than any Mac... that’s all what it is available no matter which meal name you select...
Nothing exceptional springs to mind Badly stocked mini bar. No 24 hour restaurant/coffee shop
The location was the best thing. The rooms were small, inefficient handling of processes and nothing that made me feel it to be a "grand 5* hotel". They should take a lesson from Germans in Efficiency... or another grand hotel in their neighborhood.
Check in/ out not very efficient
We have stayed at this hotel twice now and it is in an excellent central location. The hotel reception is beautiful and the rooms are also in keeping with this. Our recent room was very clean, comfortable big bed and with all the amenities that you would expect. Prior to this we have stayed in one of the suites which are excellent but of course pricey. The general rooms are a good price - not the cheapest but you do get what you pay for. We didnt book the breakfast as this made the room price too expensive.
Top Location, Friendly Staff Rooms, even booked early and got a cheap price, do not match at all a 5 star hotel. The room rate compensated a bit for it, but definitely disappointed by a hotel which has such a famous name.
The location Furnishing of the rooms
NH is the ground zero for Amsterdam
Very relaxed friendly atmosphere
Calmness Had to pay EUR 100 for 4 days of broadband connection. Should be free inside the hotel.
Location Scruffy corridors and dark bedrooms
The location is very central making it easy to get anywhere. breakfast is in a gorgeous winter garden-type room and the selection is very diverse. Staff were always helpful and accomodating. I was on the first floor and there didn't seem to be a staircase that I could take to go one flight of stairs. It was annoying always having to wait for the elevator (which was insanely crowded) for such a tiny distance. Also, no gym which I expect in a hotel of this size and class.
Three adults, including myself, stayed here a day before and after a cruise. The hotel was a great price and offered three single beds and a very large bathroom. Being from the U.S. with limited public transportation where I live, I did not realize that the tram is different than the train. We thought we could take the tram to and from the airport and port, but you need to take a taxi, so that was a little disappointing. The tram is an excellent way to get downtown, though. You pay right on the tram, 7.50 Euros for 24 hours. The staff was extremely helpful in giving directions regarding navigating the city and helping answer a variety of questions. They even ordered taxi pick up for us. No cotton washcloths No alcohol on the premises Small refrigerator No ice? Limited dining in the area Must take a taxi to/from airport or port, the train is too far to walk with luggage The price the hotel quoted us for the taxi was incorrect. The taxi companies charged more.
I picked the place as it was close to the conference I had to attend. I definetely enjoyed my stay. Appreciated the quality of the bed, bedlinen, even shower gel was very good, which is not typical for hotels at all. Hotel is very stylish. You can get a snack and a drink any time of the day and night. Staff was very professional and easy going. Definetelly a yes. I understand that the hotel is not for all the types of travellers. You are not supposed to spend a lot of time inside the room, just change, have a shower, sleep or relax and watch tv. For that purpose rooms is suited perfectly. If you want to work or spend more time in the room, you have to go downstairs. It is really the hotel for the young type of travellers. What distrubed me a bit was the temperature in the room and a bit of noise at night. Nothing dramatic though.
Smart design Seems a little impractical (wrt the bathroom facilities) for the first time user. May be one will get used to but given this was my first time, I was not very impressed.
staff was very accommodating. : internet access; the snack area I asked for 2 beds and did not know the rooms only had one bed; the shower leaked all over the room; the sink drained slowly; I did not like the bathroom and shower open to the room. No desk; no place to put your luggage; no desk; no place to watch TV unless you sat on the bed
Ideal for design lovers. I have particularly appreciated to spend time in the different areas of the lobby where you can feel to be like at home. Downtown can be easly reached with bus n. 5. Older people might find difficulties in dealing with such a technological hotel.
The hotel is nice, warm and very well located beside the tram line to town. I was worried it was a little far out but with the tram across the street you're only about 10minutes from centraal. There is no privacy really in the bedrooms - the way the shower and toilet are you would really want to be very comfortable with who you're travelling with!
CitizenM is a quite stylish place to stay in Amsterdam. Downtown is easy to reach taking the tram. The entertainment system and the large bed add a great value to the comfortable atmosphere in the room.
Ideal place for the young couple with the habit of being always online
Staying at the hotel was an experience of its own. Amsterdam is great, but I found myself wanting to come back to the hotel to explore all the cool amenities. While the tram is conveniently close, it is a pain to go to and from the city center because it's a 20 minute journey of its own.
A big bed and a see-through shower The shower leaked, it was no great problem however
For people going to the rai exhibition centre, the location is excellent. Its a short walk through a pleasant park. Citizen m is not for me. I found it pretentious, amateurish and over- ppriced. The staff are all youngsters in t-shirts and baseball boots. The breakfast was terrible and eaten at high stools to loud techno music. Check-in and check-out are done on computers and you have to pay an extra fee to use a credit card - the only time I have ever been asked to do this in a hotel. The room was uncomfortable with the bed filling the window end and the shower, lavatory and wash-basin (the size of a coffee cup) in the room with you. There was the feel of the 1960s cult tv programme, The Prisoner, about it.
I liked the unique design, mood lighting, and automation of the bedrooms. The canteen and lobby are a great idea and are very comfortable. Most of the staff were fantastic. There are parking issues, especially on weekends. Most parking metres operate on prepaid cards and the closest cash metre was 3 blocks away and only accepted coins, which at over €21 was a lot of change. One lady at hotel refused to make change for me and forced me to go into the shops several blocked away and told me it's not their problem.
Perfect business hotel - great facilities and attentive staff. Good choice of restaurants within the hotel.
Friendliness of staff. Flexibility of staff. Overall standards do not meet Okura Tokyo.
The hotel has great restaurants. My room was in need of a refurbisment and was certainly not 5 star. Shower did not have enought pressure. Cheap toilet paper. Paint at the bottom of the door was completely coming off. I have stayed in better hotels in Amsterdam (e.g. Dylan)
The breakfast is great. Over priced - not value for money.
The staff members were friendly and accommodating My room was not cleaned until quite late in the afternoon. I had expected it to be done earlier.
I am particularly greatfull to Louis (staff) who made my stay amazingly wonderfull the house keeping.. i recognize that we left the room a mess, but when we came back the only thing they did was the bed! they didn´t reload the mini bar, or clean the tables..
Location and extensive facilities of the Okura; excellent staff and services.
very nice and good hotel. It is little bit far away from the center of the city.
food, concierge, services, fantastic hotel we were charged for bar food that we did not like and sent back to the kitchen. The burger was rare (should not be rare if minced meat) and the chicken was underdone and no 'leeks julienne' was served with it, though advertised on the menu.
the location liked every thing
Great health club, very nice deluxe room Air conditioning didn't cool very well, furniture in room had defective drawers, cost of laundry service was outrageous, there isn't a good "normal, everyday" restaurant in hotel - all restaurants are expensive and fancy
Ease of travelling to airport, friendly staff, Professional staff, clean rooms! Wish the breakfast buffet wasn't so pricey
I left my purse in the restaurant during breakfast. My husband ran back to get it 2 hours later, the waiter remembered him and had my purse safe and sound with everything in it. He was very nice!!!
Wonderful facility. Expensive food.
Clean and spacious Things felt a little cheaply made.
The shuttle service when it was on schedule and could transport everyone desiring a ride to/from hotel to airport terminals and the few staff that were on duty ...usually weekdays Spotty shuttle service on Weekends due to mismanaging the requirement to transport many guests. I waited 90 minutes for the shuttle that transports folks every 30 minutes and after the third missed shuttle because there were more folks than seats, I spent 30$ on a taxi to "shuttle" me a few miles to the airport hotel....all this after calling them and they said they'd provide a ride - never happened so that's how I waited 90 minutes versus half that time before taking a taxi ....seemed understaffed
Wonderful airport hotel. Close to airport, with frequent shuttles to and from the airport. Very convenient for the night before we left!
great value for money
room size too long to get to central amsterdam. always shuttle and then train from airport to central. need train near hotel. also shuttle shuts off after 12 so I had to pay cab fare twice. also breakfast is super expensive.
Beds we SO comfortable! Hotel food and drinks were quite expensive.
The hotel overall was ok. The room was clean and had nice amenities. The staff was polite. I was a bit disappointed that we had a hard time getting a hold of room service on a couple of occasions. Also, we were awakened by loud noises made by the staff on the first morning after we arrived. We were exhausted from travel and could not go back to sleep because of the distractions.
Friendly staff, comfortable beds. Breakfast was to expensive so we went out to eat.
Service wonderful! Only complaint, a/c not strong enough
staff wanted 1 bouble and 1 twin room got 2 doubles
The room was great, the staff was very nice, and I had a great experience overall. The restaurant is pricey. I ate dinner in town. Breakfast is reasonable, if you reserve it the night prior. Good food though.
I do not recommend this hotel.
This is the third visit to the hotel. This is a very clean hotel and we have no complaints about service. The restaurant and bar prices are very high compared with other establishments we visited. The heating in the room was inadequate and we could not get it higher, the weather was very cold at the time of our visit.
We very much liked the hospitality in your hotel especially during breakfast the staff was helpful and gave us a comfortable feeling It was a pity that the shower was leaking into the bathroom and the water gathered round the toilet which made the floor very slippery.
They made me sign a pre-authorization with the room rates + 50 euros per day for frigobar (so expensive). When I did my check out (I paid in cash) they couldn't cancel this pre-authorization with the machine (they sent a fax to the credit card office) and I am always very afraid of this kind of cancellation. I had to change my room 3 times (the door didn't close well, they gave me a double bed but I have asked for 2 sigle beds, etc). They didn't have someone to help with the luggage (when I arrived and left the hotel).
The staff was helpful and friendly. Beds were comfortable, but small. No good coffee in the room. Housekeeper did not take a fast food garbage bag out. She left it exactly where I left it. No hotel shuttle, like you would expect with a 4 or 5 *
A fantastic hotel with superb staff. Very helpful and welcoming.
breakfast was good althought expensive (17 euro pp), a lot of choice. The swimming pool was not that big but okay for a quick swim Using the sauna was an extra cost (10 euro pp), the lounge area was not always clean
Good room Room towards the motorway. Earplugs helped.
The room was really nice and comfortable. Very modern with good facilities in the room and hotel. The location was ok only a ten minute walk to the tram which takes you straight into the city of Amsterdam. Was nice to be close to the city but away from all the hustle and bustle. The staff were helpful and advised me and my partner on any information we needed regarding getting to different places we wanted to visit. The Skyy bar on the tenth floor was great. Gorgeous decor and the cocktails were fab!! Overall our trip was really good and would definatly stay there again and recommend to others. The only thing was having to pay to use the sauna in the spa although the swimming pool was free it was expensive to the sauna. Every spa hotel I have stayed in it was free so I wouldn't have expected to have to pay for this.
very good hotel, friendly staff, very nice rooms. expensive breakfast, a little bit far away from the Center
Food parking facilities good isolation from streetnoise view from cocktail bar on top of the building No information of costs of sauna, this was a surprise at check out Water streaming in the bathroom while showering No bathrobes
Clean , tidy Reception was a bit cryptic, not so freindly and lacking in advice
Check in time is too late, 15:00.
Our stay at the hotel was fantastic, probably one of the nicest hotels we have every stayed in. The price was very reasonable, and it was easy access to the centre of the city. The room was beautiful, and clean. We had a lovely stay, thank you. There was nothing that we didn't like during our stay at the hotel.
We liked the mirrors (especially the big one in front of the bed) and also the window between the room and the shower :). We also loved that we could sleep till late. The location is quite convenient, it's very easy to get from and to the airport (Lelylaan station), and also to the city centre (trams 1 and 17). In the shower there was a mild smell of sewer, from the drainage. Also, the toilet should have its own sink.
The room was an absolute fantastic room. Spacious, stylish, comfortable and clean. The staff wereaslo friendly and helpful. Extremely close to the centre although if you are not familiar with the area a sat nav would be an advantage
friendly staff very expensive for breakfast
the room looks very nice :) The hotel served a variety of delicious and fresh breakfast. My friends and I enjoyed the stay there! A little far from city center.
Location was decent if you are travelling to amsterdam arena
it has free parking and there was a very nice, modern design and comfort hotel for all the hotel was far from the city center. internet access and some of favorite pay TV channels was very expensive
Green apples at the reception too cold, and staff took a long time to process an already paid service for 5 people.
Breakfast No communication on parking option next to the hotel (much cheaper than Novotel)
Convenient to RAI. Uncomfortable beds, antique hair dryers, slow and slight erratic elevators, long lines in reception, slow and error-prone room service
No breakfast included in price
Stuff is kind.
Near convention centre Expense
Very clean and comfortable room with all amenities. Courteous, professional, friendly and helpful staff. Good location for museums and public transportation to everwhere.
It is a hotel worth staying. The building is very beautiful, the rooms and view very nice. Also the bar at the ground floor is very exquisite. The only drawback is that one has to walk about 10 minutes to the nearest tram stop.
Great staff, 10th floor had great view, good breakfast. Location to public transportation not as good as some of the other hotels. Was traveling with girl friends and did not feel comfortable walking to public transport at night. However weather was a factor at this time of year - might have been ok in summer.
Staff was wonderful. A little slow on check in (but completely sold out so trying to accommodate all) maid service excellent. Rooms clean and up to date. I had room I room down hall and opposite side of elevators, but I could still hear the elevators. Pick a room further away, hotel is well worth visit - however, they do get their price.
Excellent service. Deluxe rooms would be more 4 star rather than 5. The hotel is a quite a distance from the centre of Amsterdam but there is a tram service that is good.
The view from the hotel was superb & the bed was extremely comfortable.
Fast easy check in, nice size room, good breakfast and central location to museums.
- Very comfortable bed and pillows - Nice view - Expected a nicer building and more luxurious room - Inadequate for a 5 star hotel (stayed in better 4 star hotels) - Far from city center, few hundreds meters walk to the tram stop - Overpriced, especially minibar and breakfast
Did not feel it was a 5 star hotel. It was booked for an anniversary surprise and we have stayed in nicer 4 star hotels
The wifi fee of EUR 27 is out of market and not acceptable for a business traveller.
The Staff were great The Charge for "Internet " access !!
It was so easy. Without exception all the staff were as helpful and friendly as could be. Service was first rate. Between them the bars/restaurants and Room service provided a good variety of meals and experience, no chance to get bored there. I found the level of lighting a bit low/dull, particularly in the bedroom. I guess it is fine if you only sleep there, but not if you spend time in your room.
The bedroom was very comfortable The first room I had was very noisy because the double glazing window was broken - they moved me to another room but I felt the first room should not have been available
I had stayed at the Barbizon before and found that it was still up to the same high standards as previously experienced.
Location and facilities. It was a beautiful hotel. We loved our room. It was great!
Nice rooms with large comfy beds. Great location just across from Central Station and the drop off point for the bus to and from the ferry. Staff were friendly and attentive and the price for the room was very reasonable. All in all a great hotel!
the room booked was'nt the same room that was shown on the pictures
great idea was the late checkout on the Sunday Staff very helpful and nice welcome on arrival- rooms were very clean and housekeeping staff did excellent job
Location Room was not refurbished
It a good hotel. One of the best in town. Good location, good room and view.
Location is excellent. I have stayed in numerous hotels in Amsterdam and the Barbizon is probably the best. NO
Location is strategic, opposite train sation and nearby many attractions -
free internet access through hotel computer. restaurant open in the evening with decent choice of menu and good food; hotel staff's willingness to accomodate my room requests
Room was quite spacious and modern, well deserving the star rating. Front desk staff was very helpful. The industrial neighborhood is less than appealing. Far from the city center of Amsterdam.
The standard and quality of the hotel in general. The rooms were very comfortable. The only issue with the hotel is the distance from central amsterdam but there is a metro station 5 minutes walk up the road which goes to central in about 10-15 minutes. If coming back late then a taxi should not cost more than 20 Euros.
Prompt/friendly reply from reception in case of questions Knocking/calling from housekeeping despite 'do not disturb' sign.
I could not fault this hotel, it was very comfortable and clean and every member of staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and it is well located with easy access to public transport. I look foward to going back.
Ease of getting into the city of Amsterdam, location Smoke in the bar area, am used to non smoking environment.
Staff were pleasent and the rooms were clean. The shower was excellent. Breakfast was good and over a long period. In comparison to other local hotels the value couldn't be matched. Quite a long trip into the centre of town. The single beds were immediately adjacent and couldn't easily be moved apart, not great for sharing with a friend
It's quiet and relatively closed to mass transit. Some of the front desk staff were not helpful. They refused to make a call to schedule the airport shuttle bus for us.
Convenient for transport links. A bit out of the way from the heart of the city.
the position was good, tram to centre very nearby, could park for free in service road outside hotel, very comfortable bed felt breakfast could have been better quality, given cost of hotel
