I absolutely hate bait-and-switch scams, and that’s exactly what Avis Guatemala pulled on me. I paid for a luxury SUV (Toyota Prado) but was given a Hyundai Santa Fe instead — a much cheaper and inferior vehicle. The Prado is a true luxury SUV; the Santa Fe simply is not. I feel deeply disappointed and misled. I paid for quality and got something far worse. Avis may have made a quick $200, but they lost me as a long-term customer who rents vehicles multiple times a year.Reviewed 4 Sept 2025
