The big disappointment was the wait to pick up the car. The line was 50 to 60 people deep and there were only 5 or 6 agents helping. But the real problem was that only one of the agents seemed to be working hard to move the line. A middle-age African American woman was the only person working with a sense of urgency, everyone else was just in super-chill mode and sometimes just milling around. I waited longer than 45 minutes to pay for the car. The car/SUV was clean and full of gas, but I had a hard time getting some of the features to work. It appeared to be stuck downloading something and we could never get the screen to come alive. It wasn't terrible but the people at the counter could have done a much better job.

The check-in service was fine. The Volkswagen Atlas I rented was not. It is impossible to sleep in the front passenger seat. The computer that runs the car is complicated with many options hidden within menus. It is dangerous to operate while driving. Avis's roadside assistance is a complete joke and absolutely unhelpful. Be prepared to do everything yourself if you have a problem.

They charged me a $578 drop off fee for a location 5 miles from where I picked it up after advising me there would be no charge at the counter.

Easy pick up, even easier and faster drop off. I got an excellent car instead of the car that I ordered because it wasn't evaliable . Good experience on the over all.

The original contract was not honored. Was higher price. Return did not give back difference as indicated. A pet charge was assessed a week later w no examination on site. No pets were in the car.

Owner of the location where we picked up our car was great! Didn’t charge us for the booster seat we requested because he didn’t have much on hand to choose from. He upgraded our vehicle. And it still was so cheap and a great deal!

The woman who helped us at the counter was kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. We were renting for just one day to see the Redwoods and she gave us some tips and started our day of exploration off on a kind note.
