The car was great. The Avis staff in Liberia was very rude. They also charged me a $250 cleaning fee because there was sand in the car that would be easily vacuumed out.Reviewed 22 Jan 2026

The customer service at the pickup was not helpful. Told me that if I delivered the car a day before I would be refunded a day and was not like that. I only received a refund of $16. The website didn't show at the top that the car was electric. So I ended up changing the reservation because they didn't show how to charge it. I ended up paying more money. It was a disaster. Our pickup was in the back side of a motel with NO signs anywhere that said Avis. Hard to find and had to call Avis representatives to find office. The desk representative was not helpful and not very friendly… didn’t show us where the car was, how to work it, NOTHING.. I give her a zero. The car was nice and the drop off in Tuson was easy to find and the representative was very friendly and helpful.Reviewed 20 Jan 2026

I reserved 2 vehicles for pickup at 9AM. I arrived (getting off a cruise ship, time limited) shortly after and was informed they did not have the vehicles available on location. They were waiting for the cars to be delivered to the location and it would be "at least an hour and a half". I had a large group and had to scramble to find another agency with an available vehicle (or two) that would work. In the mean time, I finally heard from Avis at 11:13AM that the vehicles had arrived. It was very frustrating (and expensive) to not have the vehicles from my confirmed reservation available when they should have been. Never again will I trust my travel plans to this PR location of Avis.Reviewed 18 Jan 2026

They did not have the car I reserved and tried to give me a substantially different car. I had to cancel. Many other customers faced the same situation- left without a car rental. It was the worst car rental experience I have had in more than 18 countries I have visited. There appears to be a collusion among the car rental companies at the Marrakech airport so that people have to find a new rental at a much higher price.Reviewed 18 Jan 2026

The staff in west palm beach were exceptional. The staff in Roanoke, I felt as if I was talking to a robot. She apparently read from a script with no exception for human emotions or even questions. I was not told of the additional fees charged; ie retrieval fee of 50$. I was unaware there would be an entire days fee for being 7 hours late and feel that should have been prorated . The vehicle was passable even with the broken sensors ; no cruise controls, no being alerted to a vehicle in the blind spot, as well as others. Due to the emotionless “customer service “ in the drop off facility, we will steer clear of Avis in the futureReviewed 7 Jan 2026
