The location is very far from arrival/departure gates. The reserved car wasn't available and the staff was not able to handle with customer service adversities. Long lines. Bad experience, not recommended.Reviewed 7 Jun 2024

Had a horrible experience with Avis! First of all, because there is no office of Avis to be found at the airport (São Paulo/GRU). Turns out Avis has no office in Brazil whatsoever, but they rent out under the name of Unidas. Once we arrived at the desk of Unidas, the attendant told us that they can't accept contracts from Avis and started complaining on bad deals Avis tries to make with them. Not our problem, but in the end it turned out to be as Unidas wouldn't accept the contract we had with Avis. We had to cancel the contract, and sign a new one with Unidas for a much higher price!! But we had no other choice as it was already 2am! They should really sit together to make things right, in the end we had to spend another 200 euros on top of the 570 already spent!!Reviewed 16 May 2024

I paid you for full coverage insurance. The Brazilian Avis said if in case of any collision, no matter at fault or not, they would charge me for the repair and I will have to apply for reimbursement with you. They placed a hold on my credit card in the amount of $1,300.00 So why I was not given any explanation from you? Give me a good reason why I should buy this sh...?Reviewed 22 Apr 2024

Very disappointed. At Rio de Janerio airport location nobody was speaking English. They made me pay for carwash . I guess I suppose to wash the car before returning 🤷‍♂️ For sure I will think twice before I use Avis again .Reviewed 12 Mar 2024

We book a car pickup for 1 pm but our car wasn't available until 3 pm. Their credit card system didn't recognize our credit payment and they cancelled the transaction and when they tried to charge us again, our cards were blocked by our bank. This cause another 2 hour delay. After travelling with kids for 24 hours, all these delays were really frustrating. The customer service staff tried to help and gave us a little discount on our rental because we even had to upgrade since the car we booked wasn't available and the one that was in the same class didn't not have sufficient trunk space. So we had to pay more than we first agreed to with our rental.Reviewed 1 Mar 2024
