Cry nice room and bed and v close to three sisters and asking tracks. Very helpful staf The guy next door bearing his girlfriend until the police came. I hope she's ok..
Clean, hot water, could plug a USB into the TV, easy check-in/out. When I asked for a couple of extra towels there was no hassle, just , "Sure, here." Nice if they included wifi with the room - wouldn't cost them any more with so many unlimited plans available
Old world atmosphere representing part of our early history in a very relaxed and peaceful environment
The atmosphere is unique.the service is excellent. The various eating/drinking venues are second to none. We had a relaxing & rewarding holiday
The owner was charming and had lots of suggestions for things to do and places for food. The mattress was a little too soft for our liking.
Warm open fire, guest lounge area, freshly cooked breakfast, friendly owner/operator, location to cafes and interesting galleries and shops and close to the beautiful Blue Mountain scenery. A little more style in our bedroom and bathroom.
Glenella Guesthouse generally had a nice feel about it. The restaurant made our stay more enjoyable - nice food. My room was fairly cold.
People were friendly, room was comfortable, breakfast was OK, good location. Would have been good to have more options for breakfast - a better muesli, fruit salad.
Bed was comfortable, linen spotless No fridge in room, no ability to make a tea or coffee, Lounge area smelt of cooking
The sense of comfort and relaxation with attentive (but not overly so) staff and good food. Beautiful pools and a lovely lounge.
We were so impressed by how polite and helpful all the staff were. The room was beautiful. The buffet breakfeast was the best we have ever had.
The greeting by the restaurant manager who kindly directed us from our incorrect entry point to teh hotel lobby.
The general and specific location could not be better. The hotel has retained its charm of former days amongst the hustle and bustle associated with a guests coming and going. I gained the impression from the desription in the material on line that the rooms would all have good views. The two rooms I booked had only glimpses of the views by looking at an angle out of the windows.
There was a problem parking every night which for the money per night I would not have expected!
Exclusive location, beautiful environment, luxurious rooms, great facilities and service. This is truly a 5-star accommodation!
Closeness to Echo Point and the Three Sisters. Quality of staff and accomodations.
Value for money in a popular tourist destination. Convenient for walking/trekking in the area. Good breakfast and pleasant staff. Needs more TLC for the building & facilities
Rooms were warm and clean, breakfast was nice. Spa was out of order, room was a little cramped although comfortable and the breakfast was very early and didn't last for long enough (8:30-9:30) however the food was fine.
Friendly service at check-in; lovely grounds and lots of place sto sit and relax I asked for breakfast to be available at 7am. The advertised breakfast times are 8.30 to 9.30 - too late if you are working (as I was) - breakfas ttimes need t obe more flexible
The sauna, the warm bedrooms! The spa was not working which was a shame and the breakfast was quite poor.
very comfortable, close to the trail heads.
friendly service no complaints
This place has fantastic kerb appeal and the common rooms are attractively furnished and comfortable. The hotel is now under new management and an improvement plan has been put in place to restore the hotel to its full potential, including simple things such as updating to digital, flat screen TVs. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly, providing us with the essential information for our long weekend in the Blue Mountains. We had a small problem which was quickly and satisfactorily resolved by the manager, who came across as very focussed on bringing the hotel back to standard. This is a hotel with good location, looks excellent on the outside, is comfortable inside and no longer deserves the rating applied to it under the old owner. The new owner is making a difference to his clients' experience. Keep up the good work. Room Tip: Avoiding the holiday periods and weekends, avoids the higher tariffs.
The vloseness to the railway, the rooms ,the food, which was excelleant and of course the red bus for convienience .
It was good value for the price and the location was great, nice ambience with the mountains and the 1930's decor The room I was in was close to the stairs and a lounge area and at night there were some older guests who relaxed there and it was hard trying to sleep but they did stop at around 9.30pm so wasnt that bad
We had a long way to travel: In order to manage fatigue, we booked into the Metropol, to take an early train to the city conference we were going to. It was a very wet, with flood warnings: As you can imagine, we weren't sure if we'd make it by 1800 hours to book in: The staff on duty when I rang to indicate we may be late: were absolutely excellent, very helpful. They rang again at 1730 to check where we were up to: gave instructions as to where to find our keys should they not be there. No trouble. Thank you. Very handy to railway station, clean, warm, comfortable bed.
The Metropole Katoomba was very noisy and the TV did not work, other couples complained of the same problem, food was good, staff OK, however the placement of our room overlooking the railway was very, very noisy. As above
