Cons: Grass at the pool and between bongalows has to be renewed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: There are so many hidden spots- just amazing. All these different restaurants keep your stay interesting as well. We also booked surfing lessons through “Swiss travel”, whom are located in the hotel, and it was such a great experience too.
Cons: It is quite huge...so it’s easer to just call for pick up and transportation insteas of walking around. Be aware that the beach is not provat and there are no chairs available.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at the adult only Royal Beach Club Tower. Loved having the option for the adult only pool and restaurant that only guests in the RBC could have access to. We had our own concierge, business center, special snacks at a private lounge each night. The staff knew our names and treated us like royalty. They were fantastic. Very well run resort. This was a great time of year to go. There were only a few guests on the property. It did rain a little each day at about 2, but it always cleared back up for the sunset. Got some GREAT deals on excursions through Eric just inside the beach entrance. He is a local who has been doing this for 20 years. He is not associated with the hotel. Prices were negotiable. Favorite restaurant was the French (Tuna Tartar!). Exellent presentation and service. Delicious! We will definitely go back.
5.4 Okay
Pros: food
Cons: they dont give me the room ( Jr.premium Suite . one bed room ) what i booked for and one hour at check in process. i will review on TripAdvisor , when i get back to States. royal beach club swimming pool is under renovation and they try to said they are up grading me. i dont buy it. bz i travel all over the world. if hotels keep doing that , Airbnb will take over the world.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It is a beautiful place, very big and with many things to do around. Italian and sea food restaurants are INCREDIBLE. They gave us an upgrade to royal because we were on our honeymoon. Great value for the price. Worth every penny.
Cons: Sometimes people from the service were cleaning the rooms, and it was too noisy. There was a group of 150 tourists, and as nationals we felt a little “excluded” due to all the attention driven to them in terms or service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds are beautiful and the ambiance is one of total relaxation. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The buffet is amazing.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Room service was poor.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Friendly staff. Prompt to respond to requests. Exceptionally good food- surprise: buffet food was actually better than restaurants options. Lots of fun excursions and activities. VERY CLEAN BEACH! Night time shows were fun and good quality. Beds were clean and very comfortable.
Cons: Near impossible to make restaurants reservation. Rooms would need more thorough cleaning and generally need updating. No privacy - all bathroom doors are see-through!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We spend new year’s eve in Conchal, pretty nice place very good ambient very family style and we also enjoy the pool a lot, Francisco Jara pool bar bartender was really nice and the coctels were fabulous! Thanks Francisco!

7.1 Good
Pros: The penthouse was just as we saw in the photos online. Nice room, nice view of ocean.
Cons: Service was ok. Most pictures online only showed the rooms and not the rest of the grounds. Thought it was closer to the beach and manuel Antonio park. Had to take the bus or taxi to get most places. Felt like It was overrated for what I got in value. Nice penthouse room if you plan on spending most of your time at the hotel. Refrigerator steel looking silver paint looked like it was coming off. I only give it this review because of the overall service and nicess of the place and amount we payed at other places in Costa Rica were better in comparison and we payed twice as much here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was really good and the location is great, especially since we wanted to visit Conchal beach. I would definitely stay here again given the opportunity.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hosts and the cooks in the kitchen make Conchal Hotel what it is. They’re there almost all hours for your service but mostly we just had a wonderful experience chatting with them. For instance, they introduced us to things we’d never tried, like a miracle fruit that turned everything sweet. The breakfast and the location make this the best value option by the best beach we visited in Costa Rica - Playa Conchal.
Cons: When it’s fully booked, parking may be harder to come by but we actually didn’t have any problem getting a spot.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Really great breakfast area, a tropical and friendly feel to the grouds.
Cons: The room was very dark and the shower was weak.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I spent two nights at Conchal Hotel and we had a very lovely stay. Hilda was very helpful and her staff were very pleasant. Our room was comfortable and the breakfast that we had was amazing! Would highly recommend this hotel for a couple or a small group.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The dining experience was excellent! Many choices, and we were there for several days, so we tried many different things. We learned that some locals come here just for the food!
Cons: Like any hotel, things occasionally break. In our case the power in our room went out briefly, but the owner quickly moved us into another room without any question. Well done!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything Most lovely place to stay Employees are very Kind Restaurant was excellent so tasty !!
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the free breakfast. It was delicious. The rooms had air conditioner and tv. The staff was friendly. The pool is a plus. The king size bed was also very nice and relatively comfortable. I would've liked more blankets though.
Cons: I had a bad smell in the bathroom and the shower curtain was stained on the bottom so it turned me off by the cleanliness of the place. Otherwise, I would've been very happy with the stay.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and Staff were excellent. Their Papaya Restaurant's food was exceptional. We were there for Valentines Day Dinner and it was the best Filet Mignon I've ever had. Owner Hilda was very pleasant and tried very hard to make our stay enjoyable. The waiter Donald was exceptional and all staff made our stay very pleasant including Arthur and Mustabo (?) and Flakko. The pool was wonderful and the grounds were the lovely. The wildlife (birds and Iguanas) were an added bonus. Although Brasilito is not a big town, Tamarindo is 25 minutes away.
Cons: Traffic noise was a little annoying but dissipated around 9-10pm on the non-Fiesta days. Beds were a little firm but still OK.

6.3 Good
Pros: Check in was easy. It was right across from a small local beach. The staff was wonderful. The bar/restaurant of the hotel is cute and had a good drink and food menu. Air condition in the room worked pretty well.
Cons: The area was not very relaxing. Alot of local animals making noise and the bar next door is loud if your room is close by. We were heckled by people every time we got in the car. The floors in the room weren't very clean and the shower had a ton of lime and mineral build up all over.
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff was great and the location couldn’t be better
Cons: I expected the court yard to be a little nicer
6.5 Good
Pros: Location Distraction free - No TV Close to attractions - Conchal/Tamarindo/Hermosa Good internet coverage Great helpful manager/staff - good tips on beaches and other areas of interest
Cons: Surrounding area is busy, congested No breakfast Loud music by the bars in the area (not owned by the hotel)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beachfront location. Great value. Nice staff
Cons: very noisey for sleeping. As others have mentioned roosters start calling as early as 4 am
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel is very close to the beach and it's clean. We had luck to get a cheaper room, so the price was very good in our opinion.
Cons: The room was a little bit small for four people but for the price it was good!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great, the location excellent.
Cons: Unfortunately the neighborhood is plagued with loud music and a very loose atmosphere, a situation the hotel has tried to address.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love staying at La Sabana whenever we're in San Jose for dental work. Lovely homey place with kitchenettes and fantastic breakfasts.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Big room, comfy beds. Nice garden/swimming pool. 10-15 minutes walking to playa conchal. Food in the restaurant was very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: That it was authentic and personal. The location is great and after a couple of nights you don’t notice the noise from the bar opposite. The pool and hammocks were a great way to spend a relaxing day. The bar maid makes the best Guaro sour drink!!! All the staff are so friendly and helpful, the manager deserves a big thank you as is a lovely lady.
Cons: There is nothing g to dislike unless you are accustomed to boring star rated generic hotels that are all the same and you could be any where in the world!! However if you want something with character then you will love hotel Brasilito as much as we do!!
7.0 Good
Pros: Very clean facilities , the pool is nice and the room is comfortable . The breakfast was good. There are comfortable hammocks. However beds were very noisy and uncomfortable, as well as floors in room. Water pressure was low and temperature not easy to set. Also, if you’re a light sleeper this place is not for you. There is music from a disco across the street until 11:30 every night . However, the location is good to visit other beaches.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Good location to walk to Playa Conchal.
Cons: Upon checking in you have to pay immediately. Strange process. Was begrudged to hand over $90 after trying to find parking for 45 minutes in 33° heat, then struggling over to the hotel with all of our bags, complained and spoke to the owner who's suggestion regarding parking was to wait a few hours until it was less busy and get a spot closer. So not relax, or have a drink or settle down in order to move the car. Unreserved, unmonitored parking on site means everyone can park anywhere, which they do when visiting nearby Playa Conchal. The room was nice initially, until we heard shuffling and load scratching noises constantly for our stay every 4-10 minutes. So loud we didn't sleep! I told the receptionist and one of her colleagues about the noise when it was becoming unbearable at around 10pm - she suggested it was the wind... Her colleague came to have a look and laughed "oh yeah it's an Iguana it won't hurt you". I wasn't worried about being hurt, I needed some sleep. Anyway, he was unhelpful and said "what do you expect me to do about it", as if I had requested he catch it and BBQ it for us. I made a video as the sound was so ridiculous. I asked if there was maybe a different room to stay in so we could get a little rest at least. He told me to go back to speak to the reception - not at all helpful. Kitchen area was also unclean (lots of dust over everything) and there seemed to be a group of large red biting ants in the room - some falling from a height onto the bed. Lovely.

5.4 Okay
Pros: The pool was nice.
Cons: Our room smelled musty, the tv was hung on the wall crooked, the light for the bed was missing a whole piece, the wood was all scratched up and we didn’t have curtains to close. We had sheers and people were walking behind our room in the woods with flashlights and they could see perfectly in our room. I was eerie!! I think the hotel has been updated but we were in 5101 and that section is still the old part. I wouldn’t stay again!!
4.8 Okay
Pros: The pool was really great as was the view from the room
Cons: They do not know how to properly clean. We had dirty sneakers, empty soda bottles amongst other issues when we checked into room. There is not a lot of choices w drinks and they are poorly made. There is no WiFi that works outside the main area
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We had a car so it was easy to go down town , no lights at night and streets are not smooth to walk about 30 minute walk Great if you like surfing. Food and drink available all day. Pretty clean facilities. Menu was abut the same but plenty of food
Cons: Beach a little rocky . You have to sit under trees on the beach. There are no umbrellas.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Cleanness overall, room decoration, gardens, staff service in restaurant and bar, really good massages, pool was clean
Cons: Food was ok, nothing special. There was variety but the taste can be improved.

Cons: Great Location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is amazing! I was happy to spend my honeymoon there. Great Facilities and it offers variety of meals in their different restaurants. We walked around the area and not because we love the hotel, it was the best. Live music at night, lovely staff, relaxing areas. The bed was pretty big the same than the bed.
Cons: Nothing at all, everything was perfect.
7.0 Good
Pros: Beautiful open air bar/ restaurant on the seafront. Surfing right outside. Good security. Fantastic pools and gardens.
Cons: Room safe is ridiculously small . We had the corner room on the property facing the gardens with very poor view. Waiter service at the bar is so slow waiting 20 minutes for a beer. The Hotel is split with a road in between with restaurant, bar and beach front facilities on one side and on the other the main pools and gardens and most rooms on the other. Chose carefully to suit needs.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I am a tea drinker,, some days no caffeine tea ieEnglish breakfast aS available..I brought some but ran out. I know it is a coffee wor!d but I was not the only one looking for caffeine! Also, I feel that considering the heat..water should be available by the beach and pool areas of at reception..should not have to buy drink or water..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Tamarindo Doria Hotel IS Tamarindo- it’s located RIGHT IN THE CENTER of Tamarindo Beach, on the esplanade - why would you stay anywhere else? The resort is beautiful, very clean, very safe with armed security guards, all the staff is genuinely friendly and did I mention the location?
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Its very good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food and staff were GREAT! Our room was clean and spacious, the safe gave us no problems and the location was amazing. There was construction during our stay but you could barely tell unless you were in the middle of It. I would hands down stay again.
Cons: Nothing to complain about.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The buffet breakfast was good and the location in the beach is beautiful.
Cons: There was construction going on everyday from 10 am on. We were trying to relax in our room and all we could hear was hammering of concrete right out side our room. When I talked to guest services about it they said sir most of our guests are already awake. Also thee was little to no hot water and house keeping came into our room 3 times without knocking while we were trying to sleep. For a room that costs over 300 usd a night there was so many issues we will never come back here. Customer service did nothing to make it better.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Location, location ,location Food was great
Cons: A/c was very weak even after staff adjusted it. Beds outdated
9.4 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location, surfing, tour organizing, pools
Cons: Kids club would be great
10.0 Excellent

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breathtaking location with view of the ocean. Very comfortable room and attentive staff.
Cons: The breakfast that was included was underwhelming.
1.0 Poor
Cons: Horrible breakfast, room was very noise at night and shower was broken.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Nice view, nice staff, away from the huzzle of town, beautiful facility, shuttle to town very reliable
Cons: Music at the pool
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our second stay at Wyndham Tamarindo and both times were thoroughly enjoyable. The free beach club access was an added bonus this time !
8.0 Excellent
Pros: All the rooms and the pool area have a fantastic view of the ocean, great for watching the sunset. The room was very nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable, I slept great. The staff was nice and polite.
Cons: Pure nitpicking, but here you go: The pool area doesn't have enough chairs and even fewer umbrellas, so if you're planning to relax in the pool for a while during the day, you'll need some luck. If you're one of those people who use the gym in a hotel (I'm usually not, but my wife and I are sticking to our new year's goals this year), then this tiny gym will probably be hot and uncomfortable for you.
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice view. Shuttle to the beach club was handy.
Cons: When I attempted to negotiate an extra day, I was quoted a price, well above what was advertised on the web.
5.0 Okay
Pros: pool
Cons: Breakfast was included but no variety. If you want eggs beans and rice everyday then you are set. The gym is not a gym. Couple of ellipticals in a tiny mirrored room. I am having a dispute with their accounting practices. I paid everything off 2 days prior to checking out. On the morning of checking out, no notice under the door, 2 mins before I am getting picked up to go to airport I get told there was a balance of nearly 200 bucks. They are ripping me off and I am in a dispute as we speak. I’ll never stay there again. Location is shite, then drivers complain about seats getting wet, what do they expect when they pick you up from a beach club. We were dry but because I had to young boys we got blamed. Complete and utter nonsense
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view is one of the best in Tamarindo it's breathtaking the infinity pool is wonderful. The Breakfast is great pancakes, eggs, beans and rice, every kind of fresh fruit you can think of... papaya pineapple cantaloupe watermelon apples bananas.. several different kind of breads Meats and cheese. There was also cereal and yogurt. People who have complained about the lack of variety because it was the same every day is ridiculous. You're not going to eat all of those foods in one day which means there is something different I'm different days . plus there was juice, cakes and un limited coffee.
Cons: The only negative is the fitness room which really has just a few basics. the kennel bowels are 10 and 15 lb ones.. great for me as a female who exercises not probably for a man. plus there's little to no air conditioning in that room so it was way too warm even with those fans going to exercise.
7.1 Good
Cons: Maintenance service, on the day my family checked in the room my children selected in had a leaking AC and hazardous. I called the lobby and asked if they can fix it, they said yes and it will be done by tomorrow. Second day, after coming back from activities the AC was the still leaking. I called again and notified them that the ac was still leaking, they told me they were sorry and will get it done by tomorrow. Third day came in and after coming back at 7pm it was still leaking. I personally went up to the front desk and complained that NOTHING done. They said once again said they're sorry and will get it done by tomorrow for sure or get another room. It was too late for my kids to switch rooms so I waited till the next day. Fourth day rules in, me and my kids walk in the room after 5 PM to see if anything is done. We end up finding the AC machine removed and left on the ground with dust all over the floor, now the room offiacly doesn't have enough ac. I had enough I ended up switching my kids room. Now instead of them only being 2 rooms starts they ended up on the other side of the building
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Some of the staff were always friendly, courteous and helpful, especially Ronald at the restaurant and Angela at the front desk. The pool and the view were excellent. The shuttle was not wonderful, but it ran on time and the drivers were helpful.

7.9 Good
Pros: Location is off course, superb, couldnt be better I guess. People are nice too. Everything else was OK, but not exceptional, so, I would say, below average.
Cons: Well, it looks... pale... how can I say, nothing is wrong but zero waw effect. I was in way better hotels in cr who were cheaper... I wouldnt go there again, to be fair, planty of other, better options.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Had the perfect relaxing beach vacations. Check-In went smooth despite our slightly early arrival. Rooms were great with more than enough space for two people each. The hammocks on our terraces were great! The hotel is overall rather small giving a nice atmosphere without being overwhelmed by too many people. Nonetheless, space around the pool can get tight when looking for some shade. Another nice feature was the room key incorporated into the wristband, which saves you from carrying a key or card with you. The direct beachfront access is also great with almost no rocks in the ocean. Food and drinks are very good - especially enjoyed the awesome cocktails at the pool bar! Served by the always friendly and entertaining bartenders. All-inclusive for that was definitely a good choice.
Cons: Nada
6.3 Good
Pros: It was nice Great location, beach front
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to the beach, good food, very nice pool and good people
Cons: Pool bar not open long enough
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful smaller beach front property. Would be a great place for a wedding.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Our room was on the first floor so our view was a cement wall.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Literally ‘on-beach location’
Cons: Queuing for breakfast .. the place has three restaurants but only one open for breakfast. Staff where friendly but busy
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Marjorie who works breakfast, lunch and dinner is the nicest, kindest most helpful and very hard excellent worker, please give her a raise. The breakfast had a big selection and was very good, also great that you could order eggs cooked anyway you like. The location was great, walk across narrow dirt road and your on the beach. The Italian restaurant is very good and Jaime is an excellent hard working man along with Jeanneth & Erika, they treat you like royalty and they all deserve a raise! Maids and maintenace keep the rooms and grounds very clean!
Cons: Room 2109 didn't have a screen door, the bottom of the toilet leaks, the hair dryer has a short in the handle, at check out i had to run back to room to hand in my pool towels, activity was cancelled and nothing to replace it, the pool bar often closed before designated time
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is awesome. Just steps away from the beach.
Cons: No
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location. Beachfront view is fabulous. Rooms are clean & comfortable. The front desk staff are very accommodating.
Cons: The all inclusive price was exorbitant. The desset menu needs improvement. The noise level was excessive late at night near the garden area.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location, facility.
Cons: I was going to say it's the McDonald's of all inclusive's but I will eat at McDonalds again. Just never had anything good to eat. Some of the staff was truly wonderful but... no entertainment after 10 pm.
6.0 Good
Pros: Spacious, clean rooms and grounds steps from the beach.
Cons: Food was the worst we had in Costa Rica, some confusion between staff, tried to add unnecessary charges to our bill. Staff called our room at 11pm to discuss our account when we were already sleeping for an early flight.

Pros: Really good value for the money. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds are generally fairly charming. Convenient, decent little view of the water from the restaurant pool area. The room was fully adequate. Housekeeping was good. When I requested an ironing board it came very promptly. Not right in town but a very short walk from the beach. Good restaurants within easy walking distance either way down the road. Bar serves plenty of beer and fine drinks.
Cons: The rooms and overall grounds are a bit tired and dated. This isn't a high-end luxury experience. The bar/pool/restaurant are equally sort of mid-range. Nothing wrong with them, but not swanky or particularly nice. The restaurant/bar is called Crazy Monkey... that should give you a notion. Just need to have appropriate expectations.
6.2 Good
Pros: Location location location close to nice Tamarindo beach! Staff was cordial and rooms were decent with the breakfast reasonable.
Cons: Very Noisy adults only type party at bar on Friday night- could not sleep till past 2.15! Not what I had bargained for when booking the place. Facilities are ok- you get what you pay for.
3.1 Mediocre
Cons: We had a room right by pool. We were assured the pool would be closed at 10:00 pm. People kept us up until 3:00 am. A few hours later it was loud people outside the door and shortly thereafter were cleaning ladies with trash cans making their rounds. It was horrible. I didn't stay the other two nights I booked and was told they weren't responsible for returns since I purchased with a third party. When my third party tried to reach them, they didn't answer all day.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: I really liked the location of the hotel, even though it wasn't directly on the beach. But it was right in front, less than a 10 minute walk!! The pool area has a beautiful view of the beach to relax and enjoy. The reception office is a bit of a walk to get to but they are all helpful. They gave me advice regarding traveling by bus. The room is nicely decorated and the shower is pretty big! The bed was a tad small but overall great room.
Cons: I didn't like that you couldn't order room service, or I did not know how. I also didn't like the size of the bed but I understand I booked by third party so bed type isn't guaranteed.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Ocean view one night; freshly painted room.
Cons: Poor plumbing; sink didn’t drain; constant dripping water in the shower; difficulty with knobs; turning with no effects; limited towels supply; no coffee in the room although there were coffee makers; Coffey is cheep there so no reason to not provide for the guests! skipping dally housekeeping; difficulties to access front desk via phone; suit rooms with kitchen; lucking essentials; paper towels; dish clothes; dishwashing detergent; you do not expect guests running to grocery store to supply themselves with these necessities?!? Upon arrival?. You do provide ability to cook but without above mention supplies it is just for your advertisement; this is faulty advertisement!!! Second floor access to rooms with ocean view; terrible steep stairs; steep without external rail; safety issue; difficult to carry suitcase upstairs; happy hours advertised but limited; some my favorite drinks were not included in happy hours. Gravel at parking makes it difficult to roll suitcases; over all poor maintenance on outside; breakfast very greasy: eggs overcooked;
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Pleasant pool area. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. The included breakfast was simple but good.
Cons: Lots of stairs. Not directly on the beach so you have to cross the Main Street and rent beach loungers and umbrellas. We were advised that the Friday night party was loud and it certainly was!
6.0 Good
Pros: They offer surfing classes through salty sols. That was cool
Cons: Meh.... I don't feel like it's worth the money. I can't really say anything very negative but few things were little annoying such a leaking fridge and conditioner. Cleaning lady was making my bed every morning (not changing just making) however, she never picked up soaked towels from the floor, never filled empty shampoo container, didn't refill coffee that I used etc. Interesting logic... Adititionally, housekeeping staff should learn atleast 3-5 words in English. I was changing in my room when a housekeeping lady knocked on the door. I told her to wait, to hold on, to give me one moment and even shouted 'no, no' few times but she still entered... Most frontdesk staff are friendly but certain are dismissive and not particularly welcoming.. Now... Their highly advertised crazy monkey bar.... They only have few beers and hard liquors. They didn't even have lime for my beer... I was much happier in hotels for 1/3 of the price. I just feel like I overpaid for the hairdryer and swimming pool which I never used anyway
4.2 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Space from bed to walls 40cm each side. Breakfast very limited, even the toast is cut in half to make it 2 toasts During both days there were no towels in gym Pool: hardly any shadow available Reception located at the parking and not in Hotel, staffed by one person only, resembled an entry to a camping site. Worst hotel experienced in the last 10 years Needs full reburbishmemt
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice pool and good location.
Cons: Not too much space in the room and breakfast could improve a bit.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: They have beach access but also a very nice pool away from the beach vendors. Beautiful gardens too.
7.5 Good
Pros: Rooms and grounds were clean. Pool was beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Cons: Rooms were very dated. Beds were very hard, needed to ask for a pillow top for the mattress as the first night was unbearable. The music playing throughout the resort was a little dated and slow. We almost fell asleep in the restaurant. The included breakfast was good however the dinner at night was something to be desired.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location in such beautiful gardens, the ambiance from the design of the Hotel, Open Restaurant, Pool Area and the access and position of the Beachside Garden. Staff were so efficient and friendly. Wonderful Breakfast Choice. Lovely fresh fruits and vegetables. Pastries and Egg Station. Great Bar service in the Restaurant area and on The Beach. Choice of Day trips from the Hotel was very good and staff were able to discuss and book for us.
Cons: Although the food was so fresh and tasty, making a choice at Breakfast for Dinner was not always easy as Dinner was some time away. The food was always beautifully presented but cold mash as a decorative addition to the plate not always enjoyed. The set Choice of two Dinner slots was a little rigid but understandable. 6.30 or 8.30. Everything cooked fresh though. The walk to the Beach was through a Beautiful Tropical planted path. Can seem quite a way through. On a slope. Security Gate system. The Bed seemed very hard but the hotel was able to provide a mattress topper. Not suitable for those with mobility problems. There are numerous steps and slopes.

Pros: Everything. The service, the location the extras, the views, felt so relaxed so quickly. I will be back.

Pros: We've stayed at BDS many times while building our house nearby. The hotel is great. The rooms are spacious, the grounds are welcoming and tropical, the restaurant is great and most of all the staff is friendly and so helpful. My personal favorites are traditional Costa Rican breakfast and watching the sunset from the beach while sipping a cocktail. Make BDS a stop on your CR travel plans.

Pros: The shower was excellent
Cons: Breakfast was horrible, food was not cooked Properly, offered hotdogs for breakfast No bacon or sausage My sink faucet was broken but never was fixed

Pros: Perfect location. Quiet private beach. The staff was wonderful. Especially Jose and Maria.
Cons: Electricity went out temporarily a couple of times.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely small resort. Beautiful beach and wonderful staff.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Central location made for lots of walking side trips to authentic restaurants, sites for shopping and nights out on the town. The landscaping/vegetation on the grounds was stellar. The Swim-up bar was nice, as was the pool, jacuzzi and water falls. Ocean and beach a little too rough for me so the water opportunities on hotel grounds really were appreciated..
Cons: There was no window in the room, only a window in the bathroom. When you travel that far for a vacation, that strikes me as really poor design! It would've been nice to throw open a window for fresh air and a grand view.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location on the beach was convenient.
Cons: Staff in the restaurant could be more attentive.

4.8 Okay
Pros: Cars in the trees to drink or smoke was cool. Nice swimming pool and pool table. Filtered water at the bar. A/c in the room.
Cons: Bathrooms were dirty, below my comfort zone. Rooms were okay but floor was somewhat dirty as well. Didn't like so much the bungalow formula since it was rainy at night, therefore nowhere to execpt the kitchen, our room, or the bar area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay! 100% recommended. The atmosphere is so relaxing and the friendly staff makes the stay awesome. Perfect location in the best area of Tamarindo.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The pool area was OK with the trees and the wooden deck.
Cons: Some of the staff was awful rude, the room was in terrible condition and doesn’t look nothing like the advertised pictures, the bathroom floor had a sticky red thing (prob dried puke or blood) on it, there was pumping noise from a sewage cleaning truck in front of the room at 6am in the morning on a Sunday... what else?
6.7 Good
Pros: The bar, pool and garden are great. Nice to chill at and socialize. The staff are friendly and helpful. The dorms are spacious and organized.
Cons: The kitchen was disgusting. One of the guests told me he saw a mouse in there one morning. Every morning when I went in to make my breakfast there was leftover food in the sink and around the kitchen. It was quite a challenge to cook in there. The bathroom also could be cleaner. The tiles were moldy and the shower stall smelled like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. I honestly expected much more from a chain like Selina that is not cheap compared to lesser known hostels where you get the same kind of facilities for a much fairer price.
4.0 Okay
Pros: breakfast was ok, atmosphere was lively occasionally
Cons: i paid a hotel rate for a hostel-rate experience
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice located, pool and bar If you’re looking for a place to socialize and music, you’re perfect
Cons: I really like Selinas at all. But I wasn’t happy about the services. Nobody showed me around the first day (but as I saw the next days, they usually showed people around. Maybe the guy on the day I arrived wasn’t just in the mood to show me something) I tried to extend my staying, and the staff told me things that didn’t happened in the end. In total the Staff wasn’t really nice, they seemed like they do not like their job and any time I was talking to someone I got the feeling to bother them, except from one really friendly woman with dark curly hairs. She is a sunshine and such a nice person to everyone. Unfortunately I forgot her name, but selinas needs more of her! Also the check in was a fail! I think 3pm is already late for check in, but it’s alright. I waited till 3pm and my room wasn’t ready than. They told me to come 30 minutes later and At 4pm It was still not ready. At least I was allowed to bring my stuff in the room but the cleaning lady showed just up at 5pm (!). In my opinion definitely to late.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms at Selina, so we had a little cabin to ourselves with double bed and bathroom. Very clean and pretty room, check in was easy and smooth. Perfect location to the beach and centre of Tamarindo would definitely stay here again! Great little bar aswell with good tunes
Cons: No issues for us.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was great. Staff at check in was great. The pool was great. There is a bar right next to the pool that has covered tables to sit at and eat or relax. Wifi works great. The property is huge. Lots of different room options. There was some construction going on in some rooms but it was quiet and didn't bother the guests. I thought this place was great and I would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Bed wasn't the most comfortable, but wasn't horrible. Could have been a little colder in the rooms but wasn't miserable. As I was in the top bed right next to the window that faces all the lights in the open courtyard, it would have been nice to have a darker shade that covered the windows. Was pretty bright all night. The bartenders during the mornings and afternoon shifts could have been a little cheerier, but other than that the staff was awesome.
6.2 Good
Pros: I liked the access to the beach and the pool was great.
Cons: the bar and restaurant staff were unorganized and unfriendly.

Pros: The room was big with a very cute private patios and access to the beach.
Cons: Showers are old and don’t function properly. It’s a bit old fashioned. For the price you pay it could be improved.
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: This review is not of the hotel conditions but in the attitude of the management and staff. After having our original trip canceled we rerouted to Liberia and booked three night at this hotel in the morning on a thursday. Five hours later (that same day) our flight was cancelled. The staff and management were unwilling to refund our money, even for the second and third night citing the policy that reservations must be cancelled 72 hours in advance. I felt that given the extenuating circumstances that a partial refund would have been a reasonable compromise. The take away message is not to book in advance on the day of arrival but just risk it.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I liked that they were very helpful
Cons: The beaches are not so beautiful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful beachfront location at begining of town. 1 min walk to eats or 15 min walk by sand or street to far end of town. Room, beds, shower, bathroom, refridge, and wifi were all great. Nice people at front desk. Very nice lounge area on sand with tables, chairs and shade.

Pros: Beautiful location. The people, the pools, the location to the beach, the moon, the tranquil surroundings, everything was amazing. The only thing that was annoying is the fact that there is only a thin sheet on the bed I had to pick up my own blanket at night luckily I had one. They were also way more kids than I expected and being right by the pool they were pretty loud. Also right above me I could hear every single step and every single move that to people for making. But for the price and the location it is amazing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good, simple but good.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome spot. They alowed us to use the hotel facilities! <3
Cons: It's too far from Tamarindo (where we wanted to stay), like 30 minutes or more by car. But for anyone that wanted to stay in Playa Grande. It is a perfect place... In my opinion, car is a need.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Raphael in reception was great and very helpful. The room and bathroom was clean and comfortable with great AC and WiFi. Lovely clean pool and great food at the restaurant. Ate here a few times! Good quality and reasonable prices. Also very close to the beach! Would absolutely stay here again and one of our favourite stays in Costa Rica!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the beach, the staff is awesome
Cons: The floor is wood, so if you walk around people can hear it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: So close to the beach! The dogs who live here are our new best friends, AC, resto is seconds away from room
Cons: Mattresses are not the most comfortable, my bed was also pretty rickety and the room could’ve used two garbage cans as opposed to just the one small one in the bathroom
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great couy hotel. Best location ever. We loved it so much we booked it for a second stay.
Cons: Food in the restaurant is too expensive for the quality(average).
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great and there was easy access to the beach. You can rent bikes and boards from the accommodation reasonable price. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The room was dark and we saw different insects every day starting from cockroach. Shower curtain was a little nasty and the room could have been cleaner.

7.1 Good
Pros: The penthouse was just as we saw in the photos online.

Lovely.
