The first car they were about to put us in - the front tires didn’t have any treads left on them. Luckily they put us in another vehicle of equal value with no issue. However, the worker couldn’t give me a receipt because her printer was broken. She said she would email me one, but I never received one until we returned the car in Atlanta.Reviewed 17 Jun 2026

Information about needing a credit card was not provided when using debit card to reserve. I was unable to pick up the car and was not refunded for insurance. Everyone I've talked to to resolved the issue was extremely hard to understand and had no intention of helping I was transferred to multiple different people who weren't who I needed to be taking to. The person at pickup was not helpful as she insisted on having a letter from my credit card detailing that it would provide car insurance in Ireland. There was a hold of over $8600 CDN placed on my credit card to cover potential damages and gas (if not on Full when car returned). It was unclear if the hold for damages would have been applied if I’d had the letter. The vehicle was not that clean, inside or out, and clearly had been driven through narrow roadways in Ireland, based on the amount of scrapes and scratches on its body. Otherwise the rental was fine and we appreciated having an automatic hybrid, especially given the steep cost of gas. The rental price was also terrific compared to other car rentals I’ve had recently.Reviewed 17 Jun 2026

I had a confirmed reservation for a vehicle. The DAY before my trip Budget called me to tell me that they gave away my car and no longer had a vehicle for me. The Budget representative stated that this had happened to several customers. I didn't prepay when I made the reservation so they gave the car away. He offered to move my reservation to a different location. I specifically asked if everything would stay the same with my reservation, and stated to him, "price, date, size of vehicle" and he said "Yes". When I got to Budget they would not honor the reserved price and I had to pay almost $100 extra. HORRIBLE customer service and completely disregarding a confirmed reservation, essentially not honoring their contract.Reviewed 16 Jun 2026

Budget doesn't have human beings answer the 800 cust. service no. after 7:30PM! that;s right a national car rental comp, so if you have problems with your car NO ONE TO SPEAK TO. want AI instead? a tow though that is not what you are calling about - those are your choices after 7:30. And, no notice when you rent a Tesla that the charging cord is NOT in the car, but can be found only at the Tesla charge station. How would a renter know that? Not in the Tesla driver's manual, not on the rental receipt, no number to call where someone from Budget can tell you that (and when I did the next day talk at 800 no,. that person didn't have a clue herself. ps - the office staff themselves where helpful and fair.Reviewed 16 Jun 2026
