When I showed up to pick up my vehicle, the Budget agent informed me that he had no one-way rentals available even though I had made the reservation 10 days earlier through Kayak. He told me that they are a franchise, that he cannot control Kayak or it’s website, and that if I wanted a one-way rental, I would need to go to the airport. I explained that I intentionally made the reservation at an off-airport location so as to avoid the airport hassle. By Budget not informing me of this dilemma the time I had made my reservation 10 days earlier, my hands were strapped, and I had to instead purchase a one-way flight at the last second to go home (from LAS to PHX on Southwest for $279 and a day later). It appears that Kayak and Budget have a communication malfunction, and as a result, I have zero confidence in ever trying to rent from Budget again. If Budget would offer me a free 3-day rental to win back my trust and make amends for the unplanned expense and hassle that they caused me, I would consider giving them another chance. I will not accept a token marginal discount.Reviewed 25 Jan 2026

Budget did not rent the car for the total I had booked it for. It was significantly more than the total I was given, even though the total I was given included “all taxes and fees”.Reviewed 25 Jan 2026

The pickup experience was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a rental car. The staff there had no sympathy for people who’s flights were delayed and instead of having a conversation with customers they would walk up to people and without saying anything else would ask for their name and tell them to come back tomorrow. In short, they were rude and didn’t look to communicate with anyone. I would advise anyone I know to never use budget again - this experience has ensured I will go out of my way to not book with them again.Reviewed 25 Jan 2026

No rental car was available at our pickup time. The attendant when we arrived was rude, repeatedly left the counter without explanation, and offered no compensation to get us to our hotel for the night, requiring us to get an Uber at our own expense. All this being said, the attendant when we did finally pick up the car the following day was very helpful, courteous, and accommodating of the situation.Reviewed 24 Jan 2026

They would not honor the type of car that I reserved. I reserved a compact SUV, I had the reservation confirmation printed out, I even prepaid; they would not honor it. They said I could only get a subcompact economy electric car because I reserved through a third party. They would not honor my reservation as a compact SUV without "upgrading". Very disappointing, I have had issues with the PIE location in the past. I think in the future I will avoid Budget/Avis when booking for that location.Reviewed 23 Jan 2026

Now, in addition to Kayak, Expedia, etc, there are third parties (the two I have experienced were in China and Hong Kong). Is there a benefit to the consumer? NO. All it means is another company to pay and, therefore, higher prices for the consumers. Don't use these. Go directly to the car company.Reviewed 22 Jan 2026
