The food quality was exellent and restaurant staff friendly. The reception staff were however not rude but not frindley or engaging. Long wait for service while thry sat in their back office, A hotel that thinks its 4Star but isnt quite there
I stayed at the hotel with my daughter for two nights and we have a fantastic time. The staff were friendly and the facilities excellent. I will definately be going back. Well done!!
Convenient location for my business commitments, easy to find and easy to get to.The gym was good; I always look for somewhere with those facilities. Gym machines are tired and need servicing, e.g quite a few of the the headphone connections are broken. The piped music in thew gym was too loud.
the rooms are of good size food is nice but waayyyy to pricey i have been charges twice on my debit card for the room, the staff is no not helpful. i spoke to someone over the was then went into the hotel spoke to them again about this matter was told refund will be done in 24hours and im still waiting for a refund 10 days later. the service is awful.
Comfort of the rooms,leisure availability
Bistro food was excellent - children where welcome. Didn't like that the children couldnt use the pool in sunday morning before we checked out - they were very disappointed only could go in 1pm until 5pm. Also service was very slow at breakfast on sunday morning and not much food left - no good value for money for what we paid for breakfast.
The gym and the pool/spa complex. Reception were very helpful Breakfast a little expensive
Excellent food. The hotel was lightly booked (4 tables in restaurant used)so it seemed unnecessary to make me walk 500 yds to the farthest point in the building and up a floor.Next time I will request a closer room to reception
Use of pool and spa area.
Spacious with facilities including free intertnet access, Only stayed B & B so acnnot comment on food. Bar was helpful! The hot water was not hot. I understand they had a problem and were dealign with it.
Staff friendly and helpful, Room clean, comfortable, warm and spacious. Nice relaxed atmosphere, good breakfast and ample parking. Excellent value for money. Desk/Foyer unmanned for long periods late in evening with consequent unchecked access to bedroom corridors. This lack of adequate security was surprising and worrying. On second night our room access card would not work and it took 10 minutes to find a member of staff (who was otherwise engaged) but helpful on his return.
Beautiful settings and very comfortable Hotel Bar prices very expensive
Swimming Pool size and changing room facilities. Friendliness of staff. Warmth & welcoming fires.
Good, enjoyed our brief stay, staff both friendly & helpful. Comfortable room & WIFI was an appreciated free service. Pleased with everything, no reason to complain - not that we wouldn't if it was justified.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was very clean. The breakfast was very nice too. The meal selection and price of the meals did not represent value for money. We ordered steak and when it arrived it was no larger than a beefburger and it cost us approx £14.00! The tablecloths were stained and there were coffee stains on the radiator in the restaurant.
Lovely big room, quiet and comfortable. Perfect for my needs - arriving late and leaving so just needed food and bed.
The room was excellent, modern and quality fixures & fittings. The food in the restaurantwas fabulous and good value No coffee & tea making facilities
The room was very nice and spacious. Recently refurbished, well presented and comfortable. Very comfortable bed Neither the morning newspaper or the room service breakfast I ordered arrived at all. Ruined the whole experience of an otherwise nice hotel, staff do not seem to appreciate how disapointing this makes the visit.
Pleasant welcome, helpful staff. Tidy room. Good breakfast. Very peaceful setting, however we may have been lucky as staff said it would be much busier on the Saturday night.
The tranquil location but most of all the Hotel Staff were excellent.
it was too noisy
Location and excellent staff
Staff very friendly and helpful. Got checked in early which was a great help Parking was tight but ok ! Small gripe really !
Cleanliness of the room / ensuite and the attitude of the staff Spa Facilities- Having gone down at 6:30 in the morning, found the facilities uncleaned from the previous evening.
Facilities in the room to allow me to work I think your wireless broadband provider, Swisscom, is expensive and doesn't offer partnerships with any other UK providers. I therefore end up paying twice for wireless Broadband. I would therefore not voluntarily choose a Holiday Inn hotel again
Having a sauna was fantastic as well as a pool a real treat and nice surprise as we didn't realise it had one Finding out on arrival we had twin beds instead of a double bed was disappointing
Comfortable Hotel very handy for shopping and accessing the Bolton Town Centre. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The price of breakfast is too high.
Breakfast Small swimming pool, not really any good if you want a decent amount of exerciese. They seemed to be havign putting payments through.
Hotel was clean, food was tasty and nourishing and in a good location. For a room priced at £72 per night without breakfast included, I considered the price quite steep. There was also a hum, possibly from a generator, in the room and it was difficult to get sleep with it. The hotel provided earplugs but they didn't keep out the noise. Also for this time of year, there were no extra blankets provided and the deposit safe message kept reading "batt" when I tried to use it. I reckon that it needed a new battery. Would not be inclined to stay there again.
Very friendly staff, excellent breakfasts, excellent liaison with a taxi firm and good accommodation We had to wait 45 minutes for food we ordered in the bar- it was only a salad each and there were no other customers. It was not the barman's fault- it was the chef.
We were upgraded to a pitch view room at no extra charge. The staff were very warm & friendly. The hotel was of a very high standard.
We were attending a corporate event at the Reebok stadium , so was very handy for that event . Bathroom floor was quite tired and needed to be looked at.
The bed was comfortable The Leaking windows and noisy music in the lobby
The welcome from Reception staff and the helpfulness of the porter in assisting me with my bags, both on arrival and departure. Everything was fine.
Very clean, large spacious hotel. Free access to leisure facilities and ideal location for trips into the local area Room I was in sounded like someone was outside with a chainsaw from about 2 in the morning
The staff in Reflections Resturant were exceptional, balancing friendliness with professionalism, nothing was too much trouble and as it was my birthday they brought complementary drinks from the bar at the end of the meal. The following day they allowed me to re-order the soup to eat in the bar - food was of a very high standard. Nothing
Large rooms Noises coming from the hall way
the ambience, ease of parking, politeness of the staff, all the staff being local was really good. The design is excellent, I would recommend the hotel and stay there again. As a single women I felt safe which is very important to me. Breakfast food was really good but no one came to my table to offer me tea or coffe and I had to ask, when I walked in the restaurant there was no one to sit me as there were no staff around just at that point. This was only a very minor thing and not worth mentioning really.
Modern look hotel, standard rooms are a bit larger and better than the norm. Breakfast buffet all pre-cooked, as usual the scrambled eggs are like rubber otherwise the rest was OK, a bit limited choice of cereals and fruit etc.
fantastic location, we were there for a football match and to wake up overlooking the pitch was amazing we had two rooms and my husband asked for a 6am wake up call which he didn't receive, luckily we had set our alarm so we didn't miss anything
Ease of access from the motorway and ease of access into Bolton; good menu in Bar. Television and radio services in room. Poor number of tv channels, 'old style' tv, and very poor reception of Radio 4! Very weak and noisy. Also no reception of Radio 5, although the logo was on screen, but 'drifting about' ie. unlocked. I had mentioned these faults when I stayed at this hotel a year or so previously, in a different room.
No lift. Breakfast was a letdown, it would be better freshly cooked on demand Plus I was not amused at being followed and asked to sign whilst picking my food from the buffet!
Quiet location, plenty parking spaces, good rates. basic tv
tranquillity cleanliness in the bathroom
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great and certainly a full English one.Great choice of everything on a self service basis.
we liked the Hotel very much it was good value for money because of travel groups ,we found we coudnt find a place to sit in the lounge and bar area when we got back to Hotel around 8pm /9pm ,so had to go up to room instead of relaxingin the bar with a glass of wine .
Because my stay was purely business and on a budget I was happy with the short time I spent at the hotel. Not somewhere I would take my wife for a romantic weekend. Good access to Bolton town centre and ample parking. Being made to pay on arrival, highly unusual and I felt I was being treated with suspicion. Its normal in most hotels to pay upon check-out. Room was adequate, bathroom a bit grubby.
Quiet location.Close to city centre. Continental buffet breakfast should be included in price.
the room was a nice size and very comfortable, the location is good there was a slight mix up with rooms at first, but it got sorted
Staying for only one night, I was unable to take advantage of the facilities the hotel offered. The restaurant provided excellent food and service No
The room was clean and comfortable, the price I paid, booking online, was reasonable, and the fact that I did not partake of a complete English breakfast was not taken advantage of by my being asked to pay full price for breakfast The room was a little hot and the shower did not give a good jet of water
Location was the big plus, since my family live in the area.Friendly staff and good to hear a local accent since I moved away 30 years ago Steepness of the stairs with no lift and we were located as far away from reception as possible,Pervading smell of chlorine in the corridors from the pool area
Excellent food 1st class, friendly staff quiet, within easy reach of Bury, Hotel going through refit, paint /equipment on emergency exit stairwell, could see through into confrence rooms with paint & lighting fittings stored ,leisure club changeing rooms could be cleaner ,rather grubby hence why we did not use them
The facilities (gym, pool, sauna) plus the added bonus of having WIFI available at no extra cost.
friendly staff, value for money
Being able to have a swim! There was no lift. Some older/disabled people found the stairs difficult.
The staff were very friendly and helpfull, the food was good and the setting was very nice. The bar and dining facilities offerred to other guests when there was a fubction on were very poor and the guest at the function were allowed to be very noisy which made sleeping difficult.
Friendly staff, good food in the restaurant. I had to change rooms because some of the electrical equipment was not working. Yor electrical equipment requires PAT testing.
great breakfast and very good value
Very friendly owners, lovely room,Great location There was nothing to dislike.
Comfortable, quiet, friendly, wonderful full breakfast. The Proprietor was extremely helpful over our car accident which we had during the time we were there. Very much in the town, but we knew that beforehand, and it was fine for one night stay.
clean, comfortable and good quality breakfast
Straight forward I did not know how to work the shower and wasted half an hour trying to work it out and wasted time
Good reception and willing help from new proprietors who might reasonably have been under some pressure, but were most kind.
warm and friendly owners, very nice room
Good breakfast It would be helpful to have some hooks or rails for towels and clothes in the shower room
Close to the centre where there was plenty of bars and eating places I had a basment room which was comfortable and warm only problem was it was under the kitchen/ dining room and you could hear the the floor creaking early as the y made the breakfasts
As I only stayed one night I cannot say to much but what I will say is, the people looked after us well and helped us to find a florist as we were going to my sisters funeral. What I will say is a big thank you . nothing
Comfortable rooms and nice and warm Non
because the rooms were clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful
Free wifi and great breaky No complaints
Excellent breakdast, very helpful staff, tasteful decor in room
Family run, very friendly
I enjoyed the friendly, homely welcome, and the freedom to come and go as we pleaseed, Nothing
Free Wifi access in my room was very useful.
It was fine - did what it said on the tin.
Central venue, easy access to all my points of interest Lack of information on arrival, it was however in writing in the room
Convenient for location
Location, spa, gym, tea shop and other shops No choice concerning price for breakfast
Good service in restuarant
The location - great views. The interesting layout of the Village, and the way the buildings have been created around the original farm buildings is unique The bar was dull and the drinks expensive. The restaurant dinner was very ordinary and the waitress didn't know what the dishes were when asked. The breakfast was excellent
Layout and general ambience of the hotel was good and very user friendly In the current market place I think you should think about a bedroom refurb - getting a bit dtaed now
The facilities available to guests were excellent as was the overall value for money for the room and rate. There were steep steps to get to the reception area from the car park with no signs to show where the lift or ramp was for disabled/mother and baby access was. There were no designated parking bays for mother & baby either. Also, I found the drinks and food a little expensive, especially when there was an excellent family pub/restaurant across the road, which were happily taking the hotel's guests! Maybe this is something they should look at and act upon to make a big difference to the level of service to their guests.
Spa facilities, free internet, confortable bed, good tv choice. Terrible food in restaurant and in bar, terrible food choice for breakfast, there was not even boiled eggs..
The facilities and location was good. Pub/restaraunt across the way as an option to inhouse. Big car park so parking no problem. Room looks nice but everything sort of feels dated. Bath/shower, not just shower and water was hot. Having a pool is all well and good, even paying £5 to use it. But needing to use it at 6am to avoid having to share with large numbers of none residential visitors makes it somewhat impractical. The Hotel also promotes Party/Wedding events, so expect 'disturbance' to run late into the night, even when located on 'premium' top floor. Promoting TV channels to find you only get about 10, with only one none freeview is misleading. Really felt it was expensive for what was delivered.
hotel.food.leisure club and staff all round should give a moore poular daily paper
Firealarm going of in middle of night and radiator rattling all night had worst night sleep if I could I'd of asked for a full refund
What did I like - the friendly efficiency of staff at checking in; the ambience of the room. i didn't use the pool and leisure facilities but i shall return and definitely take advantage of these next time.
it was relaxing
we got an early check in (11.15am) and late check out (1pm). the leisure facilities were excellent. the room was spacious & comfortable. nothing
The staff were very pleasant and the room was very comfortable. The hotel is ideally positioned Waiting for a table at breakfast time
Customer service was very good indeed. Nothing was too much trouble. Leisure facilities were outstanding. No reason to complain about any aspect of the hotel.
Leisure facilities overpriced
Dated shabby accomodation, sink leaked and shower ran hot and cold. TV remote didnt work. Wireless broadband only available in reception.
It was close to our Family Smelling cigarette smoke from other rooms.Breakfast not on time and not hot food.We did complain to the hotel.
The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpfull. We arrived early in the morning and they did everything they could to make our room ready so we could have a rest after a long from flight from Canada
Service in Dining Room good The one bed was broken and unusable and must be replaced in room 4; we were moved to another room roon 9 - there was black mould in the corner of the bath/shower which has not been cleaned off for a very long time this needs urgent attention.
Ease of access from Motorway Smell of cigarette smoke in corridors
All the staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble It is a bit tired. Failed to clean the room one day
good staff adn relatively good price. handy location breakfast finished at 9am, no residents bar, small pokey room
Came back for a lunch after I left the hotel, got a nice lunch, they did not want me to pay for that!!! I expeected WIFI on the room but this was only in the lounge
The staff were very nice When we arrived we waited for 20 minutes before we were seen at reception. The window was open in our bedroom and it was freezing cold but the radiator didn't work. I was charged twice for the room, but later refunded. They were very helpful in refunding it but if I hadn't had enough money in my account I would have gone overdrawn and been fined.
Attentiveness of staff and the very good breakfast The hotel is tired. It needs sprucing up and redecorating. The brekfast buffet was cramped and didn't look good although it was excellent.
Location Tv Channels Comfortable bed Window would not close in the bedroom so noisy and draughty - handle was broken off and locking mechanism was an old slider that was insecure Hot water was only a trickle - did not work on the sink tap until shower had been turned on first Not all items on the snack menu in the bar were available Shortage of staff who multi tasked between manning the reception and serving at the bar and food
Comfortable bed Food
the staff were friendly and helpful. unfortunately a cleaner walked in our room in the morning. our sheets were torn.
Elegance, comfort and range of facilities in the room
I had a gorgeous room, one of the most beautiful I've ever seen, with an enormous bathroom and luxurious tub. Great water pressure, although my friends on the floor above did not.
Location Size of room Service at breakfast poor Receptionist overloaded and unable to give us full attention
Good sized room, friendly helpful staff Parking space was a bit restrictive especailly when there was the Wedding fair on the Sunday
The facilities and setting were very nice. Hot water pressure for the shower was nearly nonexistent.
Wasn't in the hotel that long, but all in all it did seem to be a nice hotel.
Good location within the town
Ground floor room was comfortable and clean. Self service breakfast with very poor instant coffee. We stayed for a family wedding. The service throughout the function was extremely unorganised. Soup cold, turkey hard. young service staff which didnt seem to have a clue with no-one organising them. i would not reccomend hotel for a function but would for the rooms.
Comfy bed Woken by other guests getting up early
The meals were served very efficiently The furniture in the bedroom was slightly tatty - the wardrobe did not have a handle and a strip was wood was falling off it
Lovely hotel, real value for money, close to motorways, will use quite a lot for business clients
Everything about the hotel was first class
Being in business myself I always look closely at the way staff are towards customers.I must say the staff especially the bar staff were polite and showed great pride in their work.
our daughters wedding was held here some years ago and we had forgotten what a lovely building this is with the original ceiling moulding , chandeliers and open fireplaces. I would recommend it and definitely stay here again. we ate in the fallen angel restaurant and the food was good, wine reasonably priced and service excellent
Noise made by staff late at night (e.g. moving barrels) at the back of the hotel outside my ground floor room window (104)
Very comfortable rooms. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent restaurant facilities.
Clean well appointed room, helpfull staff, excellant bar/ restaurant. Would definitely use again and would recommend View was not very good!
Designed extremely well, bright and cheerful, no dull corners, bar and restaurant were lovely, food great, rooms clean and practical, quiet, although we were near the M62 we heard nothing during the night, staff pleasant and knowledgeable etc etc we will return thank you again.
Was clean £9.00 for wifi is a disgrace
received a warm welcome, the room was clean as was the hotel, loved having a bath in the bathroom, the hotel had good parking and was nicely set away from the main road. The eatery next door was nice, breakfast very good. No
We were able to access our room room at 1PM instead of 2PM.
Comfortable, roomy and clean. Suited perfectly for our visit to friends. Hotel quiet especially with close proximity to motorway.
Clean & comfortable room. Excellent Breakfast
Easy to book. No fuss.
Clean rooms, Friendly Staff. Good food at the restaurant.
Clean, Accessible, Good Parking, Food and Bar on site, Sociable check in and out times, No charge for cancellation. Very friendly staff. Tv instructions and remote control were not compatible. Only one easy chair in double room No facilities for late breakfast on weekdays.
The staff were very helpful and the receptionist help me book a return minibus taxi to the event my group were attending. Thank you! The bar shut at midnight despite the area being full of customers. Our room was far too hot, it was over the health club and the corridors smelled of clorine. There was a dirty sheet outside the room door which remained there throughout our stay and there was no shower curtain!
It was 5 mins from the Reebok Stadium & Breakfast was very good Room was poor for £70.00 bathroom especially grubby and shower didn't work properly
I stayed while attending a course which was run at the hotel. I did not have the time to visit the local area.
Staff were very friendly and helpful Breakfast could have been better
Music disco went on 'till 1.05 am just below our room window, could not get to sleep. Complaint registered with reception, noted and will be offered room away from disco on next visit.
Friendly and approachable bar staff we arrived late after avery busy day and they were excellent with their service standards. The bedroom was very basic
The room was shabby and the bathroom a disgrace in need of refurbishment. A party went on under our window until 3.30 in the morning. The restaurant staff were not on the ball at breakfast - there was no butter available at all and we had to ask for and wait for fruit to be prepared and bread to make taost to be put out.
Very noisy. We were kept awake by the wedding singer from the function suite and the conversations of the bedroom next door.
Clean, well appointed, good value. Rubbish shower.
Easy to get to Everything the food in th hotel was cold when I recieved it and took ages to arrive and it taken 20 minutes for a waiter to come over and greet us,then when the food arrived it wasnt cooked and my partner wasnt impressed by her awful food that much she had two mouthfulls and left the rest.i paid 70 for the meal and was not impressed it was cheap food with an expensive tag.also the staff were unapproachable and got the food orders and drink orders wrong also the bathroom looked as tho my child had cleaned it.
pauline was very nice and looked after us ensuring we were ok and everything was to our satisfaction. the hotel and people looking after us was first class very happy nothing
Everything. I greatly enjoyed the Hotel, Moss Lodge completely. The workers there also so easy to talk and speak friendly. They act what we want to before we notice. So impressive hotel, Moss Lodge. Nothing.
all very good no
Very comfy and cosy and staff couldn't be more helpful.
very friendly and helpful staff which makes you feel incredibly welcome and like you are vip guests. clean room, decent facilities, excellent breakfast.
The whole experience, from being shown into the lounge and offered drinks on arrival to being shown out when we left, was sheer delight! The staff are wonderful, rooms spotless and bed very comfy, brilliant shower and fabulous food. Can't fault anything and we have booked to stay again in February when we go up for a party! No!!
friendly and welcoming - good level of quality Maybe some dried / fresh fruit with the continental breakfast
Good hotel. Friendly staff. Not much. Room was a bit small.
I was on a short business trip and needed to stay for one night. I therefore needed a bed. I could have chosen a 2-3 star functional hotel, but found a 5 star restored mill owner house with very friendly staff for similar money. My room was very comfortabel with some nice touches - a jug of fresh milk in the fridge. No Sky so could not watch the Champions League (there was freeview).
The staff could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. The food and service were some of the best I have ever sampled. First class in every respect.
Close to the area and family who I wanted to visit. With parking facilities and close to motorway.
Easily accesible and close to the m61 motorway. Quiet rooms, excellent breakfast and very friendly attentive staff. None
Very friendly staff
I found the staff at reception very friendly and welcoming. I was only visiting relatives so did not use the restaurant for breakfast. I would have like to have had a glass of wine. I didnt want to go to a bar.
Cleanliness, cost, location adjacent to Bolton Arena. Free parking adjacent to hotel Breakfast not included and was expensive and not good value for money. Breakfast served too late. Couldn't eat before going to Bolton Arena
Good location, easy access, free car parking, quiet rooms. Free internet wi-fi not available. even most basic hotels & B&Bs offer free internet. in last 4 weeks I have stayed at hotels in birmingham and manchester for £24.99 per night through activehotels.com, all had free internet.
Hotel and rooms well furnished and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with friendly staff. My room and the boys room was cleaned to an excellent standard. Daughters room had a leak under the bath which meant they couldnt use the bathroom and had to use the bathroom in our room. but other than that was clean and well furnished. The booking was made in my name for all 3 rooms. My daughter had left a spare key for her room with us as we attended a party and having left early returned to the hotel and were looking after her 2 month old baby boy. When we returned to the hotel to collect babies bottle from the room the key had been wiped. Even though the room was booked in my name and I had paid for the room they wouldnt allow us to get the babies bottle and reactivate the key and left a 2 month old baby to scream.
Very good customer service and cleanliness Nothing of note
Front of house staff ..jane and ishmael very helpful. Bedroom very comfortable and breakfast very good. No food available in house on arrival in the evening.
The breakfast was of good quality although the sausages were a little spicy. The room was clean and airy and although the hotel is near to the motorway if was quiet inside. The pillows: 1 was too soft but having 2 made it too hard
