Pros: The friendly greeting, the beautiful room, help with our luggage. The room was everything we could ask for. Spotlessly clean overlooking a wood with squirrels running about. Food was lovely and extremely generous portions. A fantastic lounge to sit in . Could not recommend this place too much.
Cons: Finding it. Took a few passes
7.1 Good
Pros: Had liked the place till they pulled the no breaky trick. Worse when I found they had done the same to my sister lass than a week before.
Cons: That on the last day we came down for breakfast at 7.30am to find no one awake and the breakfast area not even set up as yet. We had to go pay for breakfast at another hotel that day. Same thing had happened to my sister who stayed there the week before. Poor show.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room and bed very comfortable, great shower and breakfast very good. Owner very helpful and pleasant. I liked the decor in dinningroom fresh and modern. Had a very pleasant stay will use again in the future.
Cons: I can’t say anything bothered us apart for the weather...Rained!
6.7 Good
Pros: Poor choice - no fresh fruit apart from a few apples which were there each day , no yoghurts or fresh muesli . Each morning minimal orange juice and milk presented in plastic jugs, so had to ask for more in able to have another drink. Although the menu indicated "locally sourced" i discovered the bacon was actually sourced from the cash and carry! Worst of all cooked breakfast served on COLD plates so the food chilled quickly plus the food not always cooked through which I found when presented with frozen hash browns. There was never any butter on the tables other than spread and to say we were in Scotland there was no Scottish produce eg jams , water , to represent it. The host although pleasant stayed in the so called dining room throughout our meal talking constantly which is not always what diners want.
Cons: The dining room was plain , non welcoming and as we discovered from the host an actual bedroom ! There was no lounge to relax in other than the bedroom. Did not live up to 4 star standards at all. Breakfast each day was below acceptable standard and of poor quality
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean spacious rooms and en suites . Handy for town centre and beach .

6.7 Good
Pros: Central Location
Cons: Breakfast not what I would have expected. Disappointed to be charged extra for parking
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the location was very good we wanted central and it was The staf.f were all pleasant and helpful
Cons: I was disappointed there was no dinner menu only bar meals which we had on our first night and could only rate as adequate. The breakfast was also a bit disappointing scrambled eggs only no fried or poached also we would have welcomed tomatoes and mushrooms perhaps instead of haggis every morning We are fond of haggis but NOT for breakfast
7.1 Good
Pros: The "fry-up" options at breakfast included scrambled eggs, haggis, bacon, sausage and beans, all of which were quite acceptable. There was also a good choice of fruit juice, serials and pieces of fruit, as well as croissants. There was also a waffle maker available on the Sunday, but not on the Monday.
Cons: The "fry-up" options at breakfast included what were called 'roast potatoes', but I believe they were mini hash browns, which are an English/American food, but certainly not Scottish. In Scotland, we eat fried potato scones - Tattie Scones, which were not an option. Although there were scrambled eggs, I would have preferred if there had been a choice of fried, boiled, poached or omelette. It would also have been nice if there had been a choice of square sausage (square slice), black pudding, mushrooms and fried tomatoes. I did not enjoy the tinned fruit. In this class of hotel I would expect fresh fruit salad. I felt the bar had a very poor gantry, unless you were a gin drinker! My wife wanted a Canadian Club whisky with ginger ale. None! Her alternative is Southern Comfort. None! I wanted a beer, not a lager. There were two lagers on tap - Tennents and Stella Artois - and Boddingtons. Neither was there draught Guinness available. I asked for a pint of Boddingtons. It was finished! My wife and I settled for soft drinks instead!!!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The evening meal was good
Cons: It was impossible to open the window. I realise this was the design of the building but I do like fresh air
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Everything clean, comfortable, even had a fitness centre. Definitely be back again!
Cons: Parking difficult but plenty nearby. Could do with a few more milk packets for tea and coffee! Otherwise fab!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and very comfortable bed.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is perfect for business travelers - very central location, clean and modern design rooms, USB sockets everywhere - you don't need UK adapter! 8 minutes walk on foot to the train station, reception open 24 hours - no problem with taxi booking, very kind and helpful staff. Good breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and professional
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location worked for us. We liked the shower. The breakfast buffet was good.
Cons: We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. The wall over the bed headboards was a fabric that was quite dusty & also there were cobwebs. Also one day after the cleaners had cleaned our room, there was some pink liquid on the floor inside the room door which we cleaned up. Also they didn't refill the kleenex or face cloths.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and relaxing and beautiful location i love that hotel
Cons: I dont like that I cannot found any things wrong so good luck hampton
4.0 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Breakfast, room, location
Hotel Indigo Dundee - Dundee - Building
6
9.2 Excellent (1,440 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Poised between Dundee’s waterfront and the heart of its shopping district, Hotel Indigo® Dundee reflects the fascinating heritage of this proud city. Indeed, a stay at this iconic hotel invites you to become part of a story spanning nearly 200 years! The Baxter family built their first spinning mill on the site in 1822, thereby establishing a company that would become one of the world’s largest linen manufacturers. The mill buildings – easily identified on the skyline by the elegant bell tower modelled on the Santa Maria della Salute in Venice – remain an important architectural landmark and have now been carefully restored to welcome visitors to this inspirational city. Dundee – the UK’s first UNESCO City of Design and home to the brand new V&A Museum of Design Dundee opening in 2018 – has been a focal point for creativity, design and innovation for many years. Today, Dundee is a notable center in the computer gaming industry and in homage to this, we’ve created a special games area at Hotel Indigo Dundee for you to enjoy during your stay. Our 102 boutique bedrooms including 12 Junior Suites are fully air conditioned with 40” LCD TV, invigorating rainfall shower, luxurious toiletries and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout. We also offer a fully-equipped gym, as well as a bar and a restaurant, perfect for experiencing Scotland’s finest produce and handcrafted bespoke cocktails, wines and coffees.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was like new and having a safe and a fridge in the room was excellent.
Cons: The only thing I could fault at the hotel was how slow the food was being served. It was nearly two hours for three courses and one night they gave us the desserts for free because we had waited that long. Standard of food was excellent though.
7.1 Good
Pros: Although everything is painted very dark the beautiful textiles in the rooms bring it to life. A super big shower and a very comfortable bed.
Cons: Although it says there is a Carpark there are very few spaces and we had to park in a public Carpark down the street. I now know why most people were ordering a hot breakfast. It’s a pity the staff didn’t refill the continental breakfast quicker as empty dishes were not enticing and we hadn’t time to order a hot breakfast when we realised after 30 minutes some dishes were still empty.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All of it
Cons: All good
7.9 Good
Pros: Everything else.
Cons: 25minute drive to St Andrew's everyday. Lack of parking space which can be daunting esp if you need to walk alone at night as a single female.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Cooked breakfast a little bit warmer
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pleasant stay in a junior suite. Not sure what a standard room is like but we had a big bathroom with a walk I'm shower and bath. The hotel is stylish and modern, close to the centre although you've got to walk through an underpass which at night wasn't great but we had no problems. Overall an acceptable stay and would recommend to others looking for a short break.
Cons: Some of the staff could have been friendlier.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was lovely, the room was very spacious and clean, the staff were lovely and very helpful. The breakfast which was included was lovey and lots to choose from.
Cons: There wasn’t anything that we didn’t like. I hear there can be issues with the surrounding area, but we didn’t experience any issues at all.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Except the location everything is great... Breakfast is excellent and exceptionally well managed... promptly attending everyone around. Room service on time and good. Smiling faces at the reception.... and helping hands
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very stylish, parking nearby.
7.5 Good
Pros: I have stayed twice lately during cancer treatment the room is always fresh clean and tidy with all facilities you need
Cons: The water , biscuits , milk etc wasn’t replenished this time

Pros: Perfect ! Very comfortable beds
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location and free parking. Friendly staff. Good sized room which was clean and with a great view. Large choice of restaurants within easy walking distance.
Cons: The restaurant was starting a refurb and breakfast was moved to another location. Not sure if this was the reason but breakfast was poor. Cold and inferior quality produce. Nowhere near worth what was charged for it. Bar prices are in keeping with other local hotels but you get a better quality of wine for the same price elsewhere. Computer systems were down on departure so I don't have a receipt for my expenses.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: the staff and service
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was spacious and bright very clean and we found a nice complimentary little rubber duck in the bathroom called mick. Iron and ironing board in each room which is very handy and saves having to call reception for one to be sent up as you would in other hotels. Staff were all very helpful and friendly
Cons: Work was being done in the bar and restaurant so we could not try food or enjoy a drink which was fine as we were within walking distance to the town and we were made aware of this when booking. Its understandable that this work would improve the hotel for the future. No shower cap in the bathroom everything else was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfy room. Great service and a special thanks to Lexy for looking after us so well
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean and comfortable, especially liked the lazy boy chair (very comfortable). The bathroom was lovely and well maintained.

Even tough the community airport is right in front of the property, there is no noise issue. Big breakfast with many variations. A lot of parking spots. Very good value for your money.

Pros: Very nice hotel with stylish interior in a beautiful manor house. It is close to a botanic garden. We very much enjoyed the modern and huge bath room. Pros: The staff listened to me and responded with what was obviously genuine interest, without cloying patronisation. Everything I asked about, and later did, had been answered openly and accuarately. I can't think how they could have been better. And, especially importantly, with good humour. For breakfast, I cannot imagine anyone needing anything that was not put out to be taken. (Perhaps someone like a a bhuddist monk, or a visiting inuit might have requested something not there.)
Cons: There was nothing I did not like. If I get really, really picky (and this is not significant) a bed less big than king-sized in the room would have given more space to move around – but now I think I'm being a bit silly. And some folk would moan if the bed were not king-sized! Another chair in the room would have been used by me: my wife bagged the one that was there.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: was 10 mins late for breakfast one day staff said they would make something up for me I couldn't eat 2 slices of bacon they provided could used them to sole my shoes
Cons: this hotel is entirely misconstrued on the web site I had a room two flights upstairs I had assumed there would have been a lift also the shower was above the bath the side of which was too steep for me they shifted me to a room in a semi across the road which had a walk in shower but it was also used by building contractors they did not trouble me at all but I thought I was going to a nice hotel with beer garden so I could outside with my crosswords and maybe socialise with other OAP's food at the restaurant was very basic and unfortunately too close to the public lounge - loads of swearing football fans - beer garden was a car park with three tables and chairs no sign of grass

Pros: Lovely accommodation and on site bar and restaurant We’re amazing, will definitely return even if it’s just for food.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The resort location is very near to the city. Walking around Resort lakes and golf course is a must it is just amazing. The lodge is spacious. The kitchen has all the tools you need and plenty of tea, coffee and sugar.
Cons: Spider webs where all around the windows. The water kettle was very dirty. The fridge is small. Kids play area needs to be improved
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, lodge was perfect size for 10.
Cons: Fridge too small
7.1 Good
Cons: Places was full of midges. Understandable as it’s in the countryside. But the place was really dirty and not well kept. Balconies were full with cobwebs. And the kitchen was dirty
7.5 Good
Pros: Good choice of food on the menu, beds very comfortable and nice fluffy towels. Nice walks around the resort, very friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Full length mirror would have been nice as I was going to a wedding! A different menu for the restaurant on a Sunday.
7.9 Good
Pros: The lodge had plenty of room for a family of 5, the kids loved it. It came with toilet roll, washing up liquid, kitchen roll. Which had we known before hand would of saved us from bringing some. The lodge had sky tv including movies which was great but in heavy rain doesn't get a signal. The views were great. Can't comment on the fishing or golf as we didn't do it. The restaurant was amazing and the best thing about it, in my opinion. Food was superb and reasonably priced as well. Good kids menu too. Lovely walks around the area. Staff very friendly.
Cons: The maze was £5 for a family. It was large enough to get your moneys worth however was over run with thistles and other itchy weeds. Plus it was flooded in parts and we all had to get our feet wet to get out the maze as you can't get out the way you came in. The cabin/lodge itself was generally clean except for all the spiders/cobwebs that were in hard to reach places. Curtains were fine but the blinds are really scabby looking.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: lovely setting. Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Balconies not clean.

Pros: We did not have breakast but did go into the restuarnt for an evening meal one night which was superb. great service and value for money. the location of our cabin was over looking one of the fly fishinhg ponds it was great watching the fishermen & all the wild life. the weather was great which always helps. on arrival there were no bateriies in the t.v remote we called reception within 5 mins they were at the door. Golf course was brilliant
Cons: if i had anything the fridge could of been a bit bigger , couldnt get all our beer and wine in. :)

7.9 Good
Pros: We had a really lovely stay , perfect location , we cycled to broughty ferry along the coastal cycle path which was lovely . Our room had lovely views and breakfast was great !
Cons: When we arrived there were 4 or 5 staff leaning over the counter chatting , l think they were waiting for a wedding party but it wasn’t a great first impression, after that the reception staff were all lovely. There was a wedding so we couldn’t open our bedroom window as a lot of the guests were in the patio outside our room talking loudly until midnight. Then l was woken up again at 2.50 am with loud golfers chatting outside our room after their boozy night out . None of that was the hotel’s fault and it wouldn’t put me off returning as the location was so fantastic
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Ideal location
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Not really, too many golfers, but entertaining
6.3 Good
Pros: Size of junior suite Nice towels Clean bathroom Plenty of storage
Cons: Staff were not engaged or helpful- we had to lug all our luggage into the hotel, find a luggage trolley and when in reception there standing is the concierge behind his desk saying ‘do you want a hand’! The response should have been ‘let me help you’. Receptionist was sour not welcoming or friendly. It is a large golf hotel looking a bit tired.
7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent breakfast
Cons: Little more window privacy as all in car park could see up to room
7.5 Good
Pros: Good views
Cons: It was a bit underwhelming and full of golfers

Pros: THE BREAKFAST WAS VERY TASTY AND THERE WERE PLENTY OF OPTIONS TO CHOSE FROM, ESPECIALLY THE FRESH JUICES. THE BREAKFAST AREA WAS VERY SPACIOUS AND BRIGHT, THERE WERE SOME PICTURES OF THE GOLF PLAYERS WHICH WARE NEW TO ME. THE STAFF OF THE HOTEL GAVE US VERY WARM WELCOME, THE ROOM WAS TIDY CLEAN AND THERE WERE FEW BOOKS TO READ. WE REALLY ENJOYED THE STAY IN THAT PLACE, WE WISH TO GO THERE AGAIN.
Cons: THERE WAS VERY STRONG WIND IN THE EARLY HOURS OF THE MORNING.
7.5 Good
Cons: Really disappointed that breakfast is now just continental unless you pay an extra £10 per person and annoyed that we were not informed of this at booking as it said exceptional breakfast included in price. We have stayed before and it was the excellent cooked breakfast enjoyed then that was the reason for booking again.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was wonderful, the room was clean and had all the facilities you would expect and it was economical.
Cons: The room smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke so we had to sleep with the windows open. This is a vibrant social community pub/hotel on a main road so there is considerable noise until after closing time. As someone who retires early, this made sleeping difficult.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Had a busy few days in Dundee but it was nice to come back to a calm and relaxing hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I complemented the manager the next morning on the cleanliness of my room and the hotel in general. It may be a budget hotel but the team there do a 1st class job on the cleanliness of the rooms that it felt more upmarket. Well done .
Cons: Negative- I had cash on me and decided to pay with that . However this was a major inconvenience for the person on reception and myself and those waiting in the que behind me due to the process of a cash transaction. I felt like I was handing over fake notes or a terror suspect, bit dramatic perhaps but it was a lengthy and detailed process

Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Bed linen was pristine.
Cons: The room was shoddy, especially en Suite. Musty smell, cracked wash hand basin and not a great shower. I was surprised by a ‘private ‘ sign on my door (room 3). Made me think it was used as single room only when Hotel busy?

Pros: Great location, staff were excellent (Andy in particular but all good) spotlessly clean room with a great shower, even a decent fitness room. Puts a lot of larger hotels to shame.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Could not fault this hotel. The staff were excellent and so friendly. The food was delicious and great value for money and our room was immaculate and very comfortable. I would highly recommend the hotel.
Cons: Nothing I didn’t like.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location for us was perfect, place was clean, but, by the way, Room 2, left window doesn't close rightly!
Cons: We came to visit a friend in hospital. We asked your man at the desk at 2pm last Saturday about an evening meal, as we planned to take the friends partner out for a meal in your hotel. He told us the hours an evening would be served. If your man had only told us that we would be better of to book for the meal we would have, but he hadn't! Your hotel was full up so we were landed with looking for somewhere else to eat, which turned out to be very difficult. Severely not impressed!!! As our friend is not good, we were thinking of coming over and staying in your hotel again as the location is perfect for us, now we are not too sure
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything and the breakfasts are exceptional
Cons: The door closers on rooms need to be slowed down so they don't slam when people come in late at night
