Cons: When we went to pick up our rental that we had reserved from kayak, the girl behind the counter put all my info in and the system would not let it go through. She informed us that they just had an update the night before and that there was no one she could call to help (her manager left her phone at work). There was nothing wrong with my card, ssn, or license I gave her. This was at 6am at the Albany, NY airport. We had to get to the GSP airport in South Carolina within the 24hour rental period. Since I nor my husband use any major credit cards, there was no other option than using the bank card that would not go through for whatever reason (I contacted my bank when they opened at 7 and they said nothing was wrong with the account). We ended up having to contact my Grandmother to come all the way back to the airport (we were in NY for my Grandfather's funeral) so she could pay using her major credit card and then adding me as a driver. By this time it was 730am. By this time my Husband was pretty frustrated about the whole thing. And we were dealing with a different guy behind the counter that had just got to work at 7 (Phil). Phil was not very patient or professional behind the counter. When we finally paid with my grandmothers major credit card he didn't even give us till the next day at 730am for the rental. He left it at the original reserved time of 6am. Because of that we ended up taking the car back to SC at 2 in the morning rather than just taking it home and returning it in the morning because we weren't sure we could be up by 530am to take it back by 6.
Also the cars maintenance light and change oil light was on the whole time.

Pros: New and good quality vehicle, good service from Budget at pick-up and return. We had the car for four weeks and it was fantastic. Great daily rate, too.

Phone customer service was terrible
Pros: I got different answers at different times I called. They would not call the location and would not let me call them and gave in correct info and were rude.

Pros: Nice minivan but not an equivalent to a Chrysler T&C as advertised.
Budget did take money off the rental for our grief.
Cons: Immediately after leaving on the trip the tire light came on. The tire had a nail in it. We had to replace the tire after many calls to Budget.
This added hours to the trip and cost a hotel room and a tire.
When Budget was called they were of no help.
After taking things into our own hands with AAA and Walmart, we were on our way.
The van was filthy, with bloody tissues in the pockets, cupcake wrappers in the van. Where we picked it up in an airport parking garage it was dark and you could not see well enough to see these.

Pros: They were very helpful with changes due to airline cancelations very pleased with customer service
Pros: Tiny little office attached to the Hilton downtown, directly on all main transit lines. Very nice staff.
Cons: Computers were down, but the staff did their best in a rough situation.

Watch out for insurance scam via Kayak
Pros: Car was fine
Cons: Watch out ordering the insurance coverage. Ordered insurance because we were traveling in a large Urban area. Arrived to get car and they insisted that no insurance was ordered. So added it.
Come to find out the insurance via Kayak is via a 3rd party, so they sell you the insurance again at the counter. So I got double charged for the insurance. WATCH OUT FOR THIS!!

Pros: I liked the vehicle. But what I really liked was that they voluntarily shaved some off the final bill because I had used so little fuel. I had prepaid for gas so I wouldn't have to find a gas station when I returned the car.
Cons: The wait at the counter was long, about 20 minutes.

Had to pay double at Alamo.
Cons: I had hoped to get the Jeep, but in end the Nissan worked well.

Pros: Pickup was free of hassles and relatively smooth. Pretty good value.
Cons: Rep at pickup in Latham didn't seem to know what he was doing and had to wait for help from another employee. Car had exterior marks and a cigarette burn on the front passenger seat.

Pros: Mo and the crew are great. Like really fantastic customer service. They were awesome.
Cons: The only thing, and it wasn't their fault, was that suddenly there were taxes that were not listed in the reservation. That's shitty. All of a sudden they announced higher airport taxes, even though the thrifty is off-airport. I know they are just going based on the computer, but thrifty needs to fix that. It's a super shitty feeling as a customer to budget a certain amount of money and find out you are paying more

Pros: Staff at the rental office at the Albany, NY office were very pleasant and helpful. They treated you not just as a customer but as a friend. I would rent again there-even though you have to be driven to the office-because of the staff.
Pros: Pick-up and drop off were both quick and hassle free. Location was offsite from airport and they called me a cab which arrived promptly to take me to the airport.

Pros: My quick pick up due to a phone I placed prior to coming.
Cons: The vehicle its self. I asked for a economy car and was offered a camera for $10 extra a day, an SUV, which I declined both to be give the Chevy bubble. Wasn't thrilled but I drive a jeep so I didn't think it'd be that bad but I do not prefer it, that is for sure!

Rental Team was Great
Pros: The Enterprise staff was extremely helpful, friendly and jovial. They gave me an upgrade to an SUV.
Cons: The place was super busy when I arrived to pick-up the car so there was a slightly longer wait than usual.
A prior renter of the car I had must have smoked in it. When the fan was on there was a faint smell of Cigarette or more likely cigar. There were two empty bottles under the seats (OJ and Gatorade)

Pros: The car worked well. The staff were nice and made pick up and drop off easy.
Cons: There were a lot of charges beyond the advertised daily price that were either disproportionately high or didn't make sense. Dropping a car off at a different location results in a $130+ fee (this is if you tell enterprise before hand. It is probably higher if you don't). It was cheaper for me to rent from Thursday to Monday than from Saturday to Monday.'

Enterprise Employee states KAYAK has no clue if ca
Cons: Reserved an Enterprise Car Rental for the following day with a pick up time of 9:00 am, using KAYAK. I received a call from Enterprise at 7:30 am (the morning I was going to pick up the car) informing me that a car would not be available until the afternoon. The Enterprise Employee told me that KAYAK has no clue if cars are available.
I had an appointment that I could not miss. I spent the next hour and a half on the phone, trying to rent a car and ultimately had to borrow a car from a family member.

Cons: Drove about 60 miles from Albany, got a flat, called customer service(roadside assistance ), told it wouldbe $65 for someone to come out...and that was to just put the spare on, not a new tire. I said i can put the spare on myself. Then was told had to drive back to albany to get a new car. Got back to Albany and find out that if I had the roadside assistance (wasn't mentioned or offered at pickup ) they would have brought a new vehicle to me. Not a good experience.
Pros: There was no redeeming quality of this sad business.
Cons: This was a three day rental. I booked this for my 84 year old father.
First car broke down seven times. After much complaining...they agreed to give him another car.
We paid for a midsize...he drove a fiat stick shift. I'm sure my Dad didn't complain about the stick...he owned one for years, but he's 84...come on guys...use common sense...oh and that little bitty car was cheaper so there should be some money coming back right? Think again!
HIS $98 dollar three day rental where he was downgraded and had to deal with a car with severe mechanical problems cost $250.00. He complained and they dropped it down to $150. So a 50% increase over the agreed upon contract for a downgrade and a car in unless than safe conditions.
I think this type of behavior is unacceptable.

Pros: Great price for a last minute reservation! Pickup attendants were very helpful!
Cons: I would have liked if they would have asked if I'd prefer a vehicle with Bluetooth. Also, the gas tank was 3/4 full when I picked it up, but the paperwork said it was full. The pickup attendants were very helpful with making both of these adjustments for me.

Rental of last resort
Pros: Drop off customer service in Montreal (airport) was good, efficient.
Cons: Slow customer service at Albany, NY (airport), no car options. Was given the smallest possible Economy category car, despite paying the higher rates for a different drop off. Driver's seat headrest was not in place (in the back seat), which is a security problem. Trunk barely fit a tote bag. Customer service on the phone was terrible; had to call twice to talk to someone. Finall spoke to someone only to get charged a whole day for returning the car 1.5 hours late (although the rental agreement listed an hourly rate)!

Retribution From Alamo!!!
Cons: I rented a car in Albany, NY on November 7th. I was on an Emergency Trip to help my brother who has a brain tumor and didn’t know my exact plans so I rented it for a week and thought I’d drop it off at Newark. It turns out I then had to go to Florida to care for my parents who are in their late 80s. I ended up getting a flight from Westchester Airport 4 days early on Thursday Nov 10th. Upon dropping the car off I was informed the total bill would be over $600 and not the original $200.
I was appalled and walked into the terminal to speak with the Manager Mark Hirsch. He was quite nasty and said there was nothing he could do. I asked him to contact the corporate office. The corporate office told him the Albany office would need to handle this. He called several numbers at the Albany office but was unable to reach anyone. He eventually sent an email to the Albany Manager and told me to expect a phone call. I never received any call.
Upon arriving home last Thursday I then received a Fed Ex letter from your damage department claiming I had damaged the car. I did not damage the car. Your office claims I was told about the damage upon there return; I was not. It seems obvious to me this damage claim is a thinly veiled retribution.

Great car, value for money
Pros: Was lucky to get a free upgrade to a Dodge Camaro. Ran great. The customer service was excellent.
Pros: Good. Nice that it has a shuttle seevice to airport took under 5 minutes. Nice customer service.
Cons: You can't see the sign for the rental office when coming down the main road. Need more signs!

Cons: I had asked for a small SUV, and when I checked in that's what I was told we'd have. At the very last minute (after 1:00am!), I was given keys to a Dodge Durango, not a small SUV. I didn't want to take that big a car into cities and parking garages. Luckily, the next morning I was able to exchange it for a much better, smaller, and updated Ford Escape. I also did not receive a clear explanation of a waiver of the toll transponder (I must have thought i was waiving the additional insurance coverage). Therefore I've been charged a hefty "administrative' fee for going through a $1.00 toll - I'm pretty sure if I'd had the rules and consequences described to me, I'd have taken the option to pay for the transponder. It seems like a tricky way for the company to make extra money. (This took place in Albany, not Latham.)

Pros: Roadside assistance staff very proactive and proposed various options to resolve problem.
Cons: Rental car was not safe to drive with a defective tyre. Complicated procedure for getting a replacement and due date extension places the burden of cost on customer.

Car lacked washer fluid
Cons: I specified the airport, but the app showed options at nearby locations as well without making that apparent. So we get off the plane and...no car. The experience got worse when the Avis attendant erroneously told me my car was at another location a half-mile away. Then after walking there and back for no car, she tried to pass it off as my fault for not knowing where my car was, ultimately at a mall location three miles away. Also, the car was old and smelled strongly like mildew.

Pros: I usually use Enterprise as my corporate car rental account and the price seemed high. I went onto Kayak and the process was quick, easy, and showed all the different rental companies. By using Kayak's simple process I saved over $125.
