Cons: The "Standard" size car we reserved and were offered turned out to be a compact Chevy Cruz. Our bags wouldn't even fit in the trunk.
We were forced to pay an upgrade fee to get a vehicle that was not a compact car.
At the time of rental, we were told the cost would be $225. When we returned the car, on time - they tried to charge us $298. After a 15 minute ordeal, they reduced the price to $240.
Not using Dollar Rental again.

Pros: Price I was given was not the same at pickup. They wanted to hold an extra hundred dollars untill we returned the car
Hidden fees. Walked out and went to national across the street. Got a nicer car and better price. Will never use dollar again

No one at the Dollar counter when I arrive.
Cons: - Arrive late, when I arrive at Cincinnati, I waited for 20 minutes for shuttle.
- When shuttle didn't arrive, I attempted to call office, directed to national phone number, and no way to call the Cincinnati office directly that was easily acceptable.
- When I attempted to call customer service, only available on weekdays and not helpful from my end on a Friday night.
- Had to spend an additional $30 over what I would have normally paid for a rental car in order to leave the airport at a rival.
- Will never use Dollar again!

Cons: Car had a plastic section that rubbed on tire.
Plus pick up the computers were down and it had to be done manually.
Finally had to wait too long for shuttle after dropoff to airport.

Fast & Easy
Pros: Got picked up in a shuttle bus & was taken to the rental office. The car was sitting outside and was ready to go. Drop of was a breeze and we were off to the terminal in the shuttle in no time.

Cons: I was charged 3x the amount that Kayak reported. Plus Dollar told me that they did not accept the third party insurance that Kayak sold me. I was very frustrated with the false advertisement. The sales rep at pickup was a little pushy.
Pros: This time, nothing except they actually had a car.
Cons: Car was dirty. Extending the rental because of blizzard was a hassle.

Car unavailable at first location
Pros: The staff at the Elm location was very friendly and went out of their way to help take care of us.
Cons: The car class that we originally reserved was unavailable when we arrived, so the more expensive cars were not made available to us for our reserved price. Rather, we were driven to another location 10-15 minutes away by an employee, where they also said they didn't have a car available. But after some work with the staff there, they were able to arrange for a car there to be given to us.

Cons: Person at counter had a hard time figuring out my reservation since it was not booked directly through Hertz. Took about 25 minutes to figure it out. This was annoying.

A ruff ride
Pros: I was given a car that had damage. The car drove a bit ruff and the Low tire light was on when I received the car, I had to put air in the tire. This should have been done before the car was given to me

Check the Mileage
Pros: I rented a 2015 Toyota Camry. The car that I was originally assigned had 47,000 miles on it and had scratches on many areas. I went back into the office and asked for another since I saw a few other Camrys out there. They were happy to oblige and I got one that was almost new with 4000 miles on it.
I always thought that rental car companies sold their cars before they had 47,000 miles...guess not.

Pros: When I made the reservation it was for a compact car and specifically listed a ford focus or similar. When I got to the the thrifty rental counter in Cincinnati the employee said that they had me reserved for a ford fiesta which is not similar to a ford focus. He proceeded to tell me that when you rent on sites like kayak its not always what you get. I requested a bigger vehicle and he offered a hyundai sonata which cost me 10 more dollars a day. I was very disappointed and will not be using thrifty again. I've always rented cars through other websites and have never had a problem.

Concern about Customer Service
Pros: The car was clean, comfortable and ready when I picked it up.
Cons: This was my first experience renting with Thrifty and will probably be my last.
The person at the counter made a point of telling me that I had to fill up the tank within 10 miles of the rental site and show her a receipt to prove it. I was shocked! She might as well have called me a liar and a cheat as to insult my integrity and require that I show her my receipt.
Of course, some people will cheat but that's the cost of doing business. A quick check of the gas guage by an employee will confirm that the tank is full. And if someone cheats by filling up 30 miles away, it'll be made up by people like me who fill all the way up even after the pump handle shuts off.
I'll be flying back to Cincinnati next month and to at least 10 other cities over the next year. Thrifty will not be on my radar.

Poor contingency planning
Pros: Drop of was painless and easy.
Cons: Pickup took over an hour, because their system was down. No biggie, right? Just write up a manual ticket. The problem was that the manual forms were locked in a safe and nobody there had a key.
I also paid more than I was quoted, because they didn't have access to the electronic system. I didn't have time to spend arguing about the difference, so I just ate it.
Cons: Well I was promised a week for $159 when I landed I called about to get to the specific location for my car. The gentleman stated that location closed at noon on Saturday. I asked how was I to get the car he said come back tomorrow. I thinking really stay overnight in an airport. Nothing online stated that location closed at noon but he would he happy to help at this location. Just take the shuttle. Then after explaining everything again and signing the nice lady Stephanie says they did they tell you we could not honor the price. I paid $409. Thanks KAYAK

Car was fine, manager tried to stick me with fines
Cons: Returned the vehicle and the manager tried to stick me with fines for damage that was clearly marked on paper before I accepted the vehicle. we had to call over the guy who rented me the car at pickup who resolved the issue who thankfully was more honest than that manager. Will not rent from this location again.

A utility bill was needed to pay with our bank card, which is all right, but we had NO IDEA, so we had to screw around in the office through emails and the such. Proper notification of needing these papers would of been nice

Kayak + Enterprise = bad combination
Cons: When I arrived to pick up my Car, my reservation was not in the system. After closer inspection, the agent said that third parties were booking customers at the downtown office instead of the airport because the prices were lower. He indicated that he would get me a low rate, but would have to include the Airport Fee's etc. I was fine with that, until he came back at over $75 per day more...Needless to say I booked through another rental company via their online forms.
I will not use Enterprise again, and most likely will not use Kayak for car rental again.
Pros: Quick service and ease of pickup and dropoff.
Good rate for a one way weekend rental.
Cons: Had very little or no windshield fluid which makes me wonder if other fluids were checked. Also, not cleaned in back seat...no vacuum job back there.

Cons: I was notified up front that I was receiving a 40 dollar discount because of the condition of the van. I was told that the mgr had spent the last hour trying to get it clean. The van was a mess. It had a terrible odor (fecal like). The sliding door didn't work. I was told by the mgr that a seat belt was caught in it. The door had to be opened from the inside, and even that was difficult. I asked for a different van, I was told that was the only one available.

Reservation was changed by Budget without my knowledge, showed up to pick up my car and it was at a different location. Front desk handled it well, but with a delay.
Cons: I picked up a dirty car in Cincinnati to take it to mbs airport.When I dropped the car off they asked if I had the miles I said no and they said if you don't nee your receipt you are good.I thought I should just get the miles so I did and the girl at the counter printed me a receipt for double what I was told.I asked the girl why and she said it was because I dropped it off early yes early.She told me that's how third party sites get you.I said what does that mean?She said she would of been able refund my money if I would of went straight through Avis never again will I do that...
