Pros: The drop off was great. Service in Atlanta was very fast and contactless. The rental hold money was returned quickly following drop off. The car was not available at the pick up time and I had to wait about 45 minutes to an hour for a vehicle to arrive that I could use. The person checking me in was not forthcoming about the amount Alamo was going to charge my card which caused unnecessary confusion during pickup. I have used Alamo before and did not have any problems when renting in other states so my family will likely rent from them again in the future. Maybe it was the ERW airport having an off day.

Pros: Nothing at all. The wait for 6 customers to be served, myself included, was over 30 minutes. When I finally got the rental processed, and went outside to get the car, we discovered from the 15 or so customers waiting for their cars told us Alamo had run out of cars, and the Enterprise sister rental business had run out, too. Only one person was proctoring the distribution of cars; it was chaos, and people were beginning to lose their tempers.Cons: Everything. Just CARE. If management is aware of a pending Labor Day weekend rental crisis/shortage, it should respond appropriately. But typical of American big business practices, it goes very, very short with actual service because it COSTS, and they are ALWAYS about cutting their own costs. On top of that, two charges appeared on my final bill - one of them expensive: "Recovered Concession fee, @ 17.95 per day". That fee was never described by the agent at pickup, nor by the agent at drop-off. This was absolutely and unequivocally the worst rental experience ever in my 40 driving years. I will NEVER rent from Alamo again. Further I will warn all friends and strangers willing to listen that you are an enterprise never to be patronized, and to be avoided like the plague. But I know this will fall on deaf ears and cloudy, blind eyes. You will focus on all the EXCELLENTS, (8-10), and ignore this completely. You will not change policy, nor check out what went wrong, because from top-to-bottom management really, really just doesn't care. If it did, it would be evident from the way they setup business, as well as conduct it. I'm spending the time to write this only because... well..., I DO care. If it were my business, I would run it entirely different.

He spent an inordinate amount of time calling the back office(from what I believe to be his personal cell phone) to get a confirmation code. The process took close to half an hour. My reservation was prepaid with the tax portion being the only residual so I do not recognize the need for that much time being taken to process this transaction. It seemed that there was no real advance preparation of the rental prior to my arrival. I do not fault the attendant, I fault the back office support. I expected better service.

Pros: The vehicle was new and clean, had good fuel efficiency, and performed well.Cons: The pick-up experience was terrible. The dollar counter had a very long and slow line. The staff requested redundant personal information that had already been entered into the online rental system. This wasted a lot of time. No other rental car companies had a line because they were able to process their rentals very fast. Many other companies simply have the keys and vehicle ready for quick pick-up and the rental agreement is provided via email. Dollar needs to do better before I decide to use them again.

Pros: Drop off was quick and painless. I think we waited about 25 minutes for the van to be ready at the Newark airport when we went to pick it up. We had a Chrysler Pacifica van and it ran well, got over 25 mpg driving fast, and the AC worked good.Cons: On the downside, the third seat was elecric folding and it did not work properly. We had to manually push the cushions down to get a flat floor. For a long trip, the front seats in the Pacifica van are strictly mediocre, and the 2nd row seats are awful - like a padded jump seat. Too many gadgets. I will reserve final judgement on the billing for when we get the credit card statement.

Pros: The car was spacious, the pickup representative was very kind despite our delay, as a van (which was reserved and needed for moving space) wasn't at first available and we had to wait. The vehicle (Chevy Equinox) is a BAD vehicle. Terrible performance and unsafe due to visibility. The wipers were not in working condition and we had to drive an hour through NYC at night through a rain storm. The tire pressure was not correct or there was a slow leak, didn't have time to figure it out. Returning the vehicle was a terrible experience and the Newark Airport desk staff was rude and totally unhelpful. I will never ever choose budget again.

Desperately trying to clean it with my sleeve, I missed the exit resulting in an unwanted late night tour through Newark. The agent at Newark was pleasant enough, though I had no instructions concerning dropbox drop off resulting in two trips of considerable distance from the rental lot at ABE at 11 PM. I’m sure there’s small print somewhere, but the price went from $81 to ringing up to $250, which the agent explained was $100 holding fee, hopefully refundable for my two hour rentsl.

Cons: It took over 1 hour for the shuttle service to pick me up at the curb at Newark Airport and the instructions for the pickup location are totally inaccurate. I had to call twice for the pick-up. I had reserved a “Volkswagen Jetta or Similar”But I was given a 4 year old Toyota Corolla with damage around the car, in the trunk and inside the car including a shattered mirror on the passenger side visor, which is really dangerous considering most people are looking up at the mirror when they go to use it. It was filthy, smelled like cigarettes and three of 4 hubcaps were held on with Tie-wraps. The trunk had missing and broken panels and actually made my luggage look like is had been in mud. Also, the Audi Q3 is not the best option for a long drive. The car hydroplaned massively on wet road conditions in upstate NY. Seat quality and ride quality left a whole lot to be desired. Overall, I’m extremely disappointed. Wouldn’t be recommending.

Pros: The great Audi A5 and the quick/convenient pickup and drop off.Cons: The App is essential and I was only recommended to get it ahead of time. Tell the customer that it is required, so they will have all info loaded ahead of time.

Pros: Staff was super friendly, helpful, and accommodating.Cons: The cost is high high, but it was expected. The pick-up spot gate was closed and there is no parking for those who come with a car.

not truthfulCons: I was able to reserve a car on line to drive from Manhattan to Cleveland. I even received a confirmation number. When we called to verify, we were then told that we could not have a car with a one way trip to Cleveland. I then received 2 texts and 2 phone calls requesting that I forward my information regarding the rental. During the last phone call, requesting "where I was" it was indeed clarified that I could not rent the car one way to Cleveland and the person on the line would just cancel the rental "for me". Really? It was confusing and frustrating.
