the car was very dirty - food on the inside, lots of first on the outside. I was charged more than what the kayak quote told me it would be, by $140. because of "taxes. Next time I will pay in advance and avoid using budget if possible. You lost trust.

The most horrible experience, broken engine, no normal road assistance, cigarettes smell in the car. I have 3 little kids and should travel on this car about 10 hours upstate. Horrible, exhausted experience

Very easy to get a rental. Air tram brings you to P3 which is where all the rental cars are. I booked the car at the airport, took the tram and my car was ready. Very easy pickup and drop off and staff were helpful and friendly.

It took quite a while getting out of the Newark airport because the attendant didn’t show up to work that day. I also only started with a half tank of fuel (which I didn’t realize until after I left) but was expected to return the car full. Lastly, the high beams only worked intermittently because of a loose connection. That’s not something you’d know unless you drove it so I don’t fault the company for that. I let them know at drop-off.

The person sitting at the counter was absolutely awful to me. - He asked me to provide him with a US address and after I told him I didn't live in the United States he just said "the system asks me for a US address, so give me one. it is not my problem if you don't have one" - Asked for my phone number and when I asked "to fulfil what requirement?" -I have a U.S sim card I got when I landed in the US to use locally, but my credit card is linked to a different number- he just kept repeating he needed a phone number, without responding my question. - Every time I asked him to explain something he would just repeat exactly what he had said before, even when I asked him specific questions about what that meant. - He ended up ignoring me and talking to my partner instead, asking him to tell me things, as if I was invisible. When I asked him why he was ignoring me, whether it was because I was a woman or latina, he just told my partner "can you tell her that I don't have anything against women, in fact I love women?" I would not recommend anyone to rent at this place. This individual ruined my experience, and should be fired for mistreatment. It is a service industry and they should provide a service, including good treatment.

The setup at Newark is a bit messy, it's obviously under some construction. Signage at Terminal C needs improvement. Travelers were being turned away from the AirTran indicating that it was closed when in fact it was actively running.

Fast and seamless. The tenant was really helpful at both drop off and pickup locations . The only thing was the bathroom was atrocious in Newark.

Beware that the rate given in the Priceline / Kayak reservation can be arbitrarily changed. Beware that the Taxes & Fees in the reservation are NOT all of the taxes and fees that you will pay; there will be additional fees when you collect the car. Beware that the daily rate of SLI insurance posted in the Budget website is not valid. I booked Budget because I thought I was getting a deal, in the end I had to pay about $15 more per day than expected. And the car reeked of cigarettes and not a drop of wiper fluid left.
