If you’re looking for cheap car hire in Prestwick, a smaller vehicle is recommended. Not only will you find it better for driving on busy and narrow roads, but it’ll also come in handy when you park. If you want to go further afield into the Scottish countryside, then you should consider a larger vehicle, such as an SUV. These offer enhanced traction control and handling compared to smaller cars, so you’ll be able to handle the winding roads with ease.

You must abide by the speed limits or risk being prosecuted by the police. In addition, exceeding the speed limits is more likely to cause an accident. If you’re driving in the town, then you must stick to 30 mph. However, keep an eye out for 20 mph signs too, as these are often in place around schools and hospitals. On rural roads outside the city, the maximum speed you can drive is 60 mph, whilst on motorways and dual carriageways it’s 70 mph.
