I reserved Pacifica or similar and got Pacifica, and the car itself was nice. That's what I liked. Everything else was not. Car was filthy, smelled like a dog and had a lottttt of dog hair all over it inside. It had trash left in the trunk and there was a plastic bag with something that looked like a diaper inside, I didn't look inside, it was disgusting. I've also returned the vehicle 2 days earlier and it was only $25 less. When I was returning g the vehicle, I asked the return agent to provide me a receipt and she said it would be emailed to be and price adjusted, bit if I knew it would be only $25 less I would ha e kept the car 2 more days. I was in Florida so we had to return early because hurricane was coming. They should have AT LEAST informed me of what I would be charged when I was returning, especially after I asked.

When I ask for any discounts they should've said yes 40%..that's on your web page..I was given no discounts..they never answered phones put me on hold 5times..hung up more than 5times on me..or didn't answer phone at all..shock they couldn't make a rental for10days cheaper

Since we booked with Kayak for the GRR airport we assumed the car would be at the airport. The car was offsite at a location with no shuttle which also closed at noon which was when our flight arrived. After standing in line at the airport desk for 20-30 minutes the clerk told us we had 20 minutes to make it to the other site before it closed... they were off by an hour. So after taking a cab to and back from the closed site we had to rebook a car. Which made us late to our destination. Which made me look irresponsible. Pretty bad experience all around.

It was an absolute travesty of a rental. The car condition was absolutely disgusting other than being vacuumed it smelled of cigarettes and marijuana. There was a thick film on all the windows that i had to clean it to be able to see. The trim on the passenger side at the winshield was off and the passenger side windows in both front and back had the film taken off and adheasive was left on the windows. I had attempted to contact hertz customer service via phone and email and never received a response.

Have the right car ready for us.We had reserved a midsize an we got a compact. The car was dirty an small.We will never rent from hertz again.I would hope hertz reaches out to us for some kind of compensation.

Cons:

the location i went to pick it up at was closed without explanation, and only after haggling with a regional manager on the phone did i get A car. I was given a smaller car than I reserved, which was not cleaned and had under a quarter tank of gas.

Intermediate SUV

There was little I liked about this rental experience, but the worst part was definitely the car itself. It reeked of cigarette/cannabis smoke, it had cigarette burn holes over every seat’s upholstery, I had to throw away trash left in the back seat, wipe down all the finger prints and other smudges and streaks throughout the car and it’s screen, and clean some sort of food that was smashed into the rear seat upholstery. It made for a gross and smelly 12 hour drive. I have been traveling a lot for work, and using Avis as my go-to car provider, but I have lost faith based on this and other experiences with the company. (The exception is my local Avis store, run by Abdi, who was the reason I made Avis my provider of choice.) At this point, I intend to use other travel arrangements that will avoid needing to rent. It’s unfortunate this means Avis, intermediaries (like Kayak.com), and especially Abdi (whom I quite like) will all lose out.

Cons:

Advertised as smoke-free cars. Car smelled profusely of cigarette smoke. When asked to change for a different vehicle, customer rep apologized, but said nothing else was available. Reserved a midsize auto and was given an SUV which doubled my gas expense. Vehicle was in need of an oil change and ran out of windshield wiper fluid (alerts went off within a day of picking up my week ling rental.) Company did offer a small discount and were apologetic upon return of vehicle when I spoke to the manger.

Pros:

A complete joke, I was unable to get my vehicle because I was LIED TO over the phone. I verified over the phone that I would be able to pick up the bricks despite being under 25, where I was reassured I could still get it due to waived rules because of covid. Because of this I did not get my vehicle and was late for the next bout of traveling for my vacation. Absolutely no remorse from employees at store as well. Will NEVER recommend.

Don’t LIE OVER THE PHONE TO DRAW CUSTOMERS IN.

Absolutely a disastrous experience. I flew from Los Angeles to Grand Rapids, Michigan for a funeral. When I arrived via Uber at the Enterprise location with my reservation and confirmation number, I was told that there were no cars available, despite my confirmed reservation and confirmation. They offered no resolution, and I was stranded in Grand Rapids until a family member could pick me up. I was late to the funeral visitation and vigil. I will never use Kayak or Enterprise again. I called their corporate head quarters and have yet to receive any follow up from them.

Pros:

There was no one there at drop-off. We had to write down our mileage and go inside for to the rental office. We wanted a final statement but he said he would email it. 27 hours later, we still don't have it.

Cons:

Do NOT give other locations if a person requests the airport rental. We rented from a down town agency without our knowledge. Didnt find out until our flight was delayed and we called to notify them and found out they closed at 5:00pm. Very worrisome and costly to have it changed last minute. NOT GOOD!!
