First, at pickup, I had to pay an additional €35 for full insurance. This was not communicated beforehand when I was reserving the car. In my opinion, this is deceptive, but at the time, I had no other option because it was late, and I needed the car. Additionally, the lady at the counter mentioned that the price for basic insurance and full insurance was the same, which felt like another form of deception. When I reserved the car, I selected a VW Golf or a similar model, but she offered me an Audi A1. What’s the point of choosing a car during the reservation if she can decide which car to give me? The car return process was also poorly explained, and I faced a small issue when returning the vehicle. Moreover, the person inspecting the car claimed there was a damage, which I did not cause. He simply said, 'Don’t worry, you have full insurance.' Yet again, this felt like another attempt to take advantage of the situation. They charged me for insurance when I explicitly told them I didn’t want it. I have my own insurance. They told me the extra cost was a deposit and the form was not in English so I trusted them. I found out later that my $120 rental now cost $314. I want my money back!Reviewed 1 Jun 2024

The overall experience was excellent: the lady at the desk was really kind and professional. I just have to complain about booking wth carrentals.com: it was not clear that it was kind of reserved to American drivers, so I had to pay the full insurance to get the car (since I don't have a US-driving license).Reviewed 18 Feb 2024
