Cons: Nil.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Front desk staffs are very friendly and accommodating particularly Yusuke. From the night we arrived the hostel up to the time we left, he is so helpful and pleasant. He went out of his way to provide us with directions where to eat and how to get to places we wanted to visit. He even assisted us to get taxi for my Mom, Uncle and Aunt to airport. Appreciated it much since they are already senior citizens. Hope all front desk staffs are as customer centric as him. Kudos to Yusuke! The hostel was very neat and compact. I love their bunk beds. Just enough and everything you need is there; from USB socket, mini shelves to put your things, mirror, lights, curtain for privacy per bunk bed. Shared room for 4 with my family and we had 2 bunk beds. I am rating this hostel with 5 stars.
Cons: None.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every thing
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Closed to the train station
Cons: The bathroom is very hot and stuffy, no air inside, can’t breath when take a hot bath.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the hand wash!!! Not only because it smelled nice, but also because it was the FIRST time that we came across a hotel that provided bottled liquid hand wash instead of those soap bars, keeping the vanity top extremely neat and tidy
Cons: Its a "tradition" for our family to dine at the hotel during our stay on all our family holiday trips to complete the whole experience. Especially on the last day of the trip just so end it with a good meal but the cafe opened at only 8am and we had to leave for our flight by 730am so we were a little disappointed. There were limited TV channels and the resolutions of the TV was not clear. So we could only "listen" to the TV program
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was good and easy to get around
Cons: A little dated but that was fine
9.7 Excellent
Cons: I had been staying at a luxury double bed room over 5 times and it was to my surprise that the room I booked is such a tiny room eventhough I had added Yen2600 to exchange to a bigger room. At the end I have to pay extra Yen8000 to upgrade to the room type I stayed before which is something I did not expect. I once paid HK$780 (approx) for the luxury double bed but for the current stay, I paid double!

7.0 Good
Pros: The washing machine was really handy and the bathroom had a good shower! Bed was comfortable. Very close to the station which was a bonus!
Cons: There wasn’t much of a daily clean and not even bed making which seems strange to me for a hotel! The air conditioning also seemed to struggle a little. To me it seemed pricey for what you got. Breakfast was average too.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room is very clean and well-equipped. The staffs are nice and polite, and are always willing to provide assistance.
7.5 Good
Pros: I love the Japanese breakfast. Location is great where its near to Hakata train station.

Pros: Clean, comfy with Washing machine in room
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, got all the amenities you need and more. Lighting is also nice, AC is good, wifi is good. TV is kind of useless since you have almost no channels, but meh. The staff were also super nice and let me in earlier than check in time. They even noticed that I overslept so they couldn't really clean the room so they just hung a fresh set of towels and linen on the door for me. Great service!
Cons: The only thing I didn't like was the space constraint. Things were a little low, as a 6 ft person it was a little annoying but manageable. But the biggest problem was there wasn't really a place to put my luggage. The prime spot by the door was taken up by a washing machine, which if you weren't there for long wasn't useful, so I had to put my luggage in front of the door and then close it up when I wasn't using it. Not the end of the world, but definitely a bit of workraround.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Free coffee was excellent. The location also good.
Cons: The communication of counter staffs may be need a little improved.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice staff and spacious room
Cons: check in procedure no good with payment made at machine not in front of reception counter. Need to do the check in and payment at different counter or machine. Not efficient and inconvenient. The other hotel with check in machine and payment in one counter more efficient and simple.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was smooth and the room very comfortable. I liked that you could open the window for some real air.

Hotel is directly linked up to 4 super big shopping malls that consist of all Japanese & western big brands shops. Rooms & beds are extremely big so even I only got a twin “single” beds room, it can accommodate all 4 of us very well for sleep and luggage space and even bathing together! Breakfast club lounge gives a very nice view of Japanese garden, and serve a wide range of food which were delicious. Overall we loved the hotel very much.
Cons: Nothing!

7.5 Good
Pros: - Excellent location within walking distance to both Gion subway station and the Hakata station. - Very clean rooms. - Nice Onsen. - Massages provided are good. - Good value for money.
Cons: - The double rooms are tiny. - The lounge is underwhelming - just two massage chairs and drink serving machines. - The ramen provided is meh. Not very good and not served in a nice setting. - There is no restaurant to get a drink in the evening.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The onsen in a Dormy Inn is great for relaxing at the end of the day.
Cons: Rooms not that large but better than many hotels in Japan.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is good and basically convenient to go anywhere. The hotspring is clean and fantastic.
Cons: Wifi needs to be improved.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I chose the "Room selected at check in" option and they gave me a club room, which gave access to a small lounge with free tea, coffee and massage chairs. On check in I was given a cold towel to wipe my face, which was very welcome given the summer heat! Free ramen for all guests after 9:30pm. It was so-so, but it's free so no complaints! The onsen atmosphere was nicer than most hotel onsens I've been to.
Cons: No bath in the room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable, have onsen and free ramen, staff are nice, room is larger than other hotels in Japan
Cons: If the hotel add a little hook in the toilet for holding the clothes will be much appreciated
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Walking distance to the yatai strip, and not far from hakata station. There is an underground walkway to gion station, about 500 meters, which pops you up right near the hotel entrance. Be sure to visit the nearby shrine, also walking distance. Staff are very helpful, and speak some English. If you get the 8th floor or above, there are free massage chairs, tea, coffee, and fruit drinks.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is very close to Gion subway station. And it is easy to get to Tianjin by bus. There is a hot spring on the second floor. And the club room can use a lounge with some juice, coffee, tea, electric massage chairs, etc.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Delicious breakfast, near railway station, nice hot springs although slightly crowded, free ramen, very reasonable price! Great!
9.5 Excellent
Cons: Good location~

Pros: They have hot spring at down town area, that’s amazing.
Cons: So far so good

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Small but comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. The osen was a great bonus and very nice experience.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We have an enjoyable time in Fukuoka even though it was just for a night the hotel truly met up to our expectations. The room had everything you needed . The shower gel and shampoo had a fragrant smell and the shower was strong. Had a relaxing shower after a long day. The bed was ok but the pillows were too flat however we survived. It’s super convenient and very near to the airport. The front desk clerk was kind enough to arrange taxi upon our requested time to get to the airport. Their English were good and super friendly. After a long day of shopping we returned to the hotel in time for free ramen after 9:30 pm. It was so tasty
Cons: Cannot think of anything.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff, relatively affordable. Great location
Cons: Compared to other Dormy Inns (like the one is Osaka) slightly worse: room facilities slightly less and room slightly smaller. Otherwise fairly similar and fine.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Super location ... Easy walk from the Shinkansen and town centre
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is 10 mins walk from Hakata Station. They also provide free shuttle bus to the station in the morning. Free ramen is provided at night as with all Dormy Inn hotels. There is also free laundry service. You only need to pay for the drying service. Onsen has three pools. One indoors and one outdoors. There is also a cold pool for you to alternate between dips.
Cons: Pillows were a little too flat and although the double room is small, it could still fit two 28inch luggages but with not much room to walk on thereafter hahaha. But that’s expected in Japan especially in the cities. Our Toyota Alphard could not go into their hotel’s carpark due to its length, so we had to park elsewhere about 300m away. So do take note if you are travelling in a big car.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is super: just beside Canal City Hakata. The room is small but clean and nice and good for using a spa freely. Also the service of offering noodle soup was good. Staffs are kind.
Cons: I didn't know it when I booked the room, but cleaning the room was the option and I had to pay for that additionally. I didn't ask it, but it was good that everyday new towels and water are offered.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Front Lady Staff offered me to replace my fruits and drinks were frozen due to hotel refrigerator set up, as the matter is simple so I refused. She is so kind in offering me again breakfast in which I accepted and it was a good breakfast
Cons: No towel in Onsen All remote controls and toilet wash less should have an explanation in English. I have a very difficulty in adjusting air con, air purifier and toilet warm water.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: good location to travel and safe. it is a cosy accommodation. I've enjoyed the public hot spring everyday.
Cons: n/a
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and a friendly staff. Really nice amenities. I was impressed they had a high quality hair dryer.

Pros: Great location ...near to Hakata Station
Cons: Nil
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the station and rooms slightly bigger than average for Japan. Hotel is clean and modern. Many nice restaurants near by in the Hakata station building.
Cons: No problems.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast options were a tad limited but the quality was good. It was quite costly but it was a Friday night. I also didn't realise that the checkout was 10am (as that's early for a hotel of this quality!) but they let me accidentally overstay for an hour without charge.
Cons: 10am checkout...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: (1) toilet and bath tubs are separate by glasses. (2) equipped with humidifier, Stephen knoll shampoo and conditioner. (3) though the check out time is 10:00 am, it can be extended if the client fills out the feedback form.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, cleanliness and size of room
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean and conveniently located near Hakata station. Modern design with free coffee. Staff were helpful especially when we needed help with nearby car parks. He helped to find the most economical option.
Cons: Small room, especially toilet and bathroom.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good hotel for the price. Not too small, good flow of air conditioning, clean and quiet, as well as easy to get to
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: No
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location of the Hotel is excellent with lots of restaurants and shopping within short walking distance. The Hakata JR train station, airport bus station and subway are within 5 minutes walking distance. Airport bus takes less than 20 minutes to and from airport and hotel is 5 minutes walk from Hakata airport bus station. Our room is comfortable with excellent shower. Song at the Reception was very helpful in giving us directions for different attractions in Fukuoka.
Cons: We had breakfasts only first morning at the Hotel as we were disappointed at the variety of the breakfast items. Bottle drinking water (2) were only provided upon arrival with no further replenishment for our stay (3 nights). We were informed that tap water in the room is drinkable and from 3pm onwards, tea, coffee and water are available from the restaurant on the ground floor.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room is big and clean...very nice bathroom, really good breakfast and it is organic style. It is really healthy food. We love it :).
Cons: When we need extra advices or help, some staff seem not really care to service...but she just provided the answer which was not really helping the guest at all. This, we would be hesitate to stay here again next time soon.
6.0 Good
Pros: Modern hotel, cost, and self service.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Wing International Select Hakata Ekimae in Fukuoka (Hakata-ku), you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Canal City Hakata and Kushida Shrine. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage.
7.0 Good
Cons: The front desk staff were the worst we have ever had in Japan. As it was a rainy day when we left we asked them to ring a taxi. Their response "you can get one at the station". That was where we wanted to go. Also hand basin was at front door away from toilet and bathroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are small (almost normal in Japan), but equipped with all you need for a comfortable stay. The location is also very good, halfway between Hakata station and Canal City. Lots of small restaurants around.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Amenities is superb. Internet connection is also strong. Daily room cleaned by housekeeping. YouTube link is set on tv which is very convenient to use.
Cons: Room is rather small. So if you bring big luggages, you might have a problem.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I like the location. It is just a corner from my car rental place (Times Car Rental), right in front of Family Mart and Lawson's at another corner, plenty of place for food around the neighbourhood. It is only about 5 minutes walk to Hakata Station too. There is a carpark next to it too.
Cons: The room is a bit small. But I think that is standard Japanese room size. We requested for extra pillows for the kids but the pillow are not the same as the one we have in the room. They only have the Japanese pillow which is harder and smaller. Also no special rate for the carpark next to it.
5.5 Okay
Pros: This hotel is in a good location if you’re arriving from Hakata Station.
Cons: The rooms are very cramped even by Japanese standards. There is not enough floor space to open a suitcase. The bed is not very comfortable and the room did not have good sound insulation. One night I was kept awake until 2am with noise from the room next door and woken up with loud TV at 6am the following morning. There is also construction on the block next door. Additionally the room was being advertised at half the rate we paid through booking.com so the price here seemed like a rip off. I would not book here again.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Overall is good. Just there is no cutlery to provide and even a call for help, any eat my fruit finally.....
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very clean Good location Sweet decoration
Cons: Too small for 3 persons
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is great. Its near the Hakata station. With convenience stores across and besides the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was in a great location, and completely peaceful to get a great night sleep!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to canal city it is a good place to stay to visit hakata by foot.
Cons: Lack of choices for breakfast
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location for eating and shopping, friendly staffs
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Walking distance to shopping and good food. Kids like their small goodies bag with toiletries for kids.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: At least the bed sheets were clean.
Cons: HOTEL DOESN'T TURN ON IT AIR CON IF WEATHER IS 20 DEGREES & BELOW. They did not put a disclaimer that the centralized air conditioning will only be opened if the weather becomes hot (for their own standard). So we had to open the windows and at night till early in the morning we could hear the people laughing and talking, the trucks, etc. It was spring but on the first night, I had several mosquito bites because of the open windows. THE NON-SMOKING ROOM SMELLED OF CIGARETTE SMOKE FOR DAYS. We got a non-smoking floor (5th floor) but one of the rooms we got smelled of cigarette and we had to request the staff to clean the room again but it still smelled cigarette after they cleaned it. I had to re-check the room if it was a non-smoking room. AREA IS NEAR BARS I would not recommend the place if you have kids. The area is near bars and clubs. My son even noticed it. VERY LIMITED STAFF. The hotel is actually a budget hotel. They have very limited staff. The front desk person is the one who will double the house keeping staff if you need something or if something needs to be checked in the room. NOT ENGLISH FRIENDLY HOTEL. I do not think I read a disclaimer that the staff cannot speak english very well so it is a bit annoying if I ask help or need anything, I need to go to front dest to use google translate. WHEELCHAIR IS AVAILABLE BUT FOR USE INSIDE THE HOTEL ONLY. One of the reasons I chose this hotel is because of the available wheelchair. But they did not put that the wheelchair can only be used INSIDE the hotel. I have been to other hotels in Japan and they allow guests to use the wheelchair outside the hotel property. CARPET FLOOR AND BATHROOM ROOM FLOOR NEEDS MAJOR CLEANING. The hotel needs to do through cleaning of carpet because my sister and I started sneezing every time we are inside the hotel. But we noticed once we are outside the hotel, the sneezing would stop. The toilet floor should be scrubbed with soap because it smelled of urine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location! Made our Fukuoka trip extra special. Will definitely book again with Hakata Excel
9.3 Excellent
Cons: lost my belongings T_T
5.1 Okay
Pros: The hotel is very centrally located to shopping, restaurants and bars as well as the subway line and buses. The staff were friendly enough and the breakfast is good.
Cons: I arrived with an early morning flight after flying all night and arrived at the hotel by 10am. I was advised that official check in wasn't until 2pm and I would have to wait until this time. I found this somewhat strange considering most North American hotels will allow you to check in if they have a room ready. Even if they didn't immediately have a room ready, they usually make an effort to get you into a room as soon as one is cleaned and ready. I sat patiently in the lobby for the next two hours and then made another attempt at noon to see if any rooms had been cleaned and were ready to be moved into. The front desk's English was very poor so it was difficult to communicate but they again told me that check in wasn't until 2pm. I tried to reason with them that surely some of the rooms must have been cleaned by this point and but was told again that check in would only take place at 2pm. I was told that if I wanted to check in earlier, I would need to pay 3500 Yen for the "overtime". I couldn't quite understand what overtime would be involved since they had to clean my room regardless -- it was just a case of what order they were going to clean it compared to other rooms. I refused to pay this fee and returned to sit on the sofa in the lobby for another two hours. Finally at 2pm I was permitted to check in. I got up to my room only to discover that it was a smoking room (yes, there is still such a thing!). I called down to the desk and explained that I had been assigned a smoking room but wasn't a smoker (interestingly, the kayak site that I booked the hotel on didn't ask for a smoking preference). I was told that there were no non-smoking rooms available (despite me presumably being the first person to check in today!) and that they would send someone up to get rid of the smoke smell. Unfortunately we know how that goes... they attempted to get the smoke smell out but it didn't make much difference. Even thought I was only there for one night, my clothes and luggage still came away smelling like smoke. Hardly an enjoyable experience for the price paid!
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location is good!
Cons: I expect more new and beautiful room. It’s to old. You need to renovate your rooms.
7.5 Good
Pros: Locat
Cons: No

5.8 Okay
Pros: The location was good and it had nice complimentary things (coffee, juices) in the lobby.
Cons: The room was tiny and you didn’t have space to open your luggage. The double bed was quite narrow. The breakfast was healthy but didn’t have many options.
7.0 Good
Pros: They have free welcome drink till midnight. It's so cool! Has many restaurants near this place.
Cons: If you come from Tenjin Minami station. It doesn't have an elevator that too inconvenient.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Caramel pudding, tea and coffee service
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff is very friendly, everything is clean and quiet.
Cons: The room is very small for two luggages and there is only one blanket for a double bed and you can not get a second one.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location was perfect, really close and walking distance to everything you want to have access to.
Cons: The ground floor looked like a cafeteria, and none of the staff spoke English. The rooms were tiny (but that just seems to be Japanese standards). They don't allow early checkin or late checkout and are really not helpful when it comes to this.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Free beverage bar
Cons: Breakfast buffet too much for breakfast. I had to crawl over to get to my side of the bed. We couldn’t get the refrigerator to work. I found on another site same property for significantly less.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are extremely clean, albeit small, but it’s expected in Japan hotels. Staff members are very helpful with our queries and there’s free drinks and coffee for guests at the reception area. Definitely recommended.
Cons: The hotel is quite a distance from the closest subway. Although it is near to Tenjin-Minami, the main subways are usually on the other end at Tenjin station, so coming from Tenjin station with luggage was cumbersome.
6.3 Good
Pros: The picture looked good but in reality , to see pizza and a few other European dishes for Breakfast was strange. Indeed the Value was decent but I would prefer a very Japanese Breakfast if I come to Japan not Pizza.
Cons: staff were actually not bad, but limited with English so not easy. size of the rooms and bathroom was really tiny. Id expect this in Tokyo or Osaka but not FUKUOKA for the price
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was centrally located. The front desk staff spoke average English. The bathroom appeared and felt like I was in a cruise ship (quite tight), although it offered a variety of amenities.
Cons: The bathroom, its too small. There were not one universal language (i.e English) TV channel.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staffs were very friendly and try to help as much as they can. The location is very convenient to shop around and very close to the train station of GION.
Cons: The breakfast do not have a lot of variety, only 3 options to choose. It will be a bit boring for those who stay more than 3 days.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel's location is excellent. It is very close to all the temples and shrines in the Gion area and a short subway ride to Hakata Station, Canal City and Tenjin. We had a Deluxe Room and it was spacious and very comfortable. Coffee bags were provided in the room, as well as milk and sugar and the coffee was excellent. The staff were extremely welcoming and hospitable. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was cheap and delicious.
Cons: Nothing could have been better,
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It’s a short walk from Gion station (take Exit 6) and very close to the subway, very ideal location if you’re traveling with kids. Staff are friendly and quick to respond to queries and requests. I booked two rooms and they gave us adjacent rooms. There was an unruly guest in the corridor one night and the staff were quick to diffuse the situation, even sending an apology letter early morning the following day for the inconvenience. I also especially like the restaurant within the property. Although the breakfast choices are limited (cheap but good!), you can order other items from the menu at a very reasonable price. Comfortable beds, met my expectations. Overall, this is a budget-friendly hotel and great for families.
Cons: The room is clean but the area under the bed is a bit dusty and could use some extra cleaning. Noticed this when my kids’ toys rolled under the bed, although I’m not really bothered.
6.3 Good
Pros: the only thing we liked was the location close to hundreds of restaurants and the entertainment district including walking distance to the city park with its nice lake and leisure facilities - and the kindness of the reception staff that really tried to make us happy. Refunded the non-refundable breakfast coupons, refunded the 2 days we decided to leave earlier without question... :-)
Cons: Breakfast was a disaster. No one spoke some kind of English, everything was labeled in Japanese. No regular breakfast or buffet, only a choice between 3 variations. Breakfast set with fish, meat & rice and meat & bread with a choice of 2 side-dishes - slimy this and slimy that, urgh. Coffee was undrinkable, at least after my wife's and my humble opinion. We immediately reversed our breakfast deal. We had to learn that on the coupons it said "not refundable" - in Japanese. The cleaning was not satisfactory. The floor in the room in the entrance area was sticky, walking with bright socks on the carpet made the sole black! The wall was bearing the marks of many guests, dirty. The shower was very difficult to adjust, a couple of millimeters determined if you either were cooked og chilled. The bed gave me back ache. May be we are softies, only used to our quality bed at home, but we already have slept nicely in Japan, so it can't be a cultural factor...
7.0 Good
Pros: Location and price.
Cons: Didn't have microwave.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location and facilities are good
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good service Good place
7.0 Good
Pros: Location is superb, close to subway that's also direct access to airport and other parts of city, main shinkanzen station is a stroll away and nightlife with food and experience is also a quick walk away. But this area itself is calm. Room size is slightly bigger than usual Japanese business hotel room size which is still relatively small but big enough to store and open luggage properly.
Cons: Only 1 key card given although it was 2 of us. Also in general the facility has everything you need but its a bit out dated. But mainly the key card is an insert card not a touch card, this is a bit "old school" and sometimes it doesn't work smoothly, but not a show stopper, just a minor inconvenience at times.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good service
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Business-style hotel room, clean. Room size ist ok. Close to Hakata station, next to metro station and in walkable distance to the center area. We very much liked the breakfast with different options. The Japanese fish breakfast was sensational.
Cons: -
