We really liked being so close to the park. Everyone should try the free shuttle (catch it a sort walk from the hotel office) at least one of the days you are at the canyon. The car lines were really long when we were there and the bus went around all of them. The hotel was reasonable for being so close. Rooms were very clean. There is a need for an elevator at each end of the building. We needed to juggle some things in the room to find enough power outlets to change devices. Rooms were smaller than expected, but still adequate for the two of us.
Closeness to GC Amenities including restaurant Friendly staff Rates
Everything was good, including the restaurant on site. Expensive for what it is.
Nice pool. Late check out. No towels at pool (front desk offered them but the front desk was far from the pool!)
Location, big room, Restaurant wasn't great (but my wife liked it)
Restaurant on site was convenient. Difficult to find in the dark when first arrived
I came into the area with a camping permit, but was too late and there was a thunderstorm. Thankfully this hotel had a room. The staff were all super friendly and more than willing to help me if I needed anything. Room was comfortable and it was fairly quiet, maybe because it was the end of August. I am sure that during the busier times the bar and lounce area are great places. The buffet of food was just so so. Nothing was especially good. Probably would order off the menu directly next time.
The location was perfect for an EARLY departure to hike the Canyon. The refrigerator ran, but didn't work. We were too pressed for time to sweat it. The TV didn't have a signal, which we were told has to routinely have to be reset.
Proximity to the Grand Canyon is great, rooms were nice and adequate for our needs, there is food on the premises and indoor common space when it's cold outside. The entrance to the hotel is a little confusing since it's back off the main road behind some other businesses, maybe a bigger sign would help? Morning coffee would be nice.
I get that it's a tourist area but $200+ for a standard room is insane, I could have found cheaper rooms in downtown Las Vegas.
The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the south rim areas. The small town of Tusayan, Arizona may not have much but it's well suited for what it is...a small town near the Grand Canyon. Don't expect 5 star but DO expect a good value for the money.
Facilities were nice rooms comfortable. Back yard view very untidy, bright outside lights switched on all night and towels were switched every day even when not necessary. There should be more of an emphasis on saving resources in this location.
great location, close to the grand canyon parking lot was completely full, at 8pm on a Wednesday!
Location Cost, small room
Location and rooms We asked for some tea bags and the front desk flatly refused by saying they were very busy to send anybody to the room! Never heard this before in my life.
I liked the location Gym was awful
Excellent location, close to Grand Canyon and restaurants. Great place to stay. Doors are to thin. Can hear noise from hallway.
This hotel is in the heart of Tusanya, the small town outside Grand Canyon National Park. We were lodged in a separate building than the main hotel. The cable TV in the room was defective, with not all channels coming in clearly. In fact, running the microwave oven caused more interference in the TV. I hadn't seen this problem in years.
The location to the Grand Canyon was great. The hot tub was nice. There was no Kleenex in our room. Shouldn't have to pay extra for the breakfast buffet which was okay. The free self serve breakfasts at the Comfort Inn and Holiday Inn were much better. The shower in the new section is odd and should have more privacy. You can not adjust the thermostat to less than 66 degrees for night time sleeping making the comforter too hot and a sheet too cold.
The hotel is nice and clean . The breakfast is not free also there was only one small shampoo, one small conditioner and one little soap in the room. No iron or blow dryer or anything else. Not enough towels
Everything was great. They are doing some construction adding 2 new pools, 1 indoor and 1 outdoor. Very nice rooms and amenities. The only thing I really didn't like was they didn't have anything saying that they didn't have a pool. The kids were looking forward to swimming.
Very nice facility. Rooms were very nice. The " on the go breakfast is a joke". They really need a viable free alternative. Even lower cost places have a decent continental breakfast included. When I booked this there was no mention of the fact that the pool was under construction. So no pool. The Hot tub was dinky. I had a gift card for Best Western and somehow they managed to apply it to the room then not. I don't know why as it was never explained to my satisfaction as to why. Then they didn't have my card anymore as it was sent to accounting and they assumed I would get one in the mail. I didn't have time to argue all these things as we were only there for the night and were on a tight agenda. Also they first sent us to a room that was being repaired and had workers in it. They switched us to an upgraded room which was nice but come on we don't know something is under construction?
The important things worked - the climate control was on point (a rarity in hotels), the bed was comfortable, the location was great for us, the fridge worked and the WiFi had no problems. There were some small minor things - hair in the tub, the sink leaked around the handles, there was a light out, and the TV channels in no way matched the guide they gave us. But overall a decent stay. You're there for the Grand Canyon, but we were there in December, in a snowstorm, so we spent more time indoors than most people probably do.
Excellent value. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Good amenities. None
Close to the rim, with some cabins right on the rim. Great price for location. Cabin furnishings and bedding are pretty dated - but seemed clean enough. The location is what makes this place.
Location was great. And the staff was very kind and helpful to make the most of my short stay there. There was no fitted bed sheet which was a little off putting. Also the doors weren't sound proof so was quite loud being next to an exterior door hearing people pass in and out.
location, cleanness, cute style. no tv, no wi-fi.
From check in to dinner and drinks, the staff was personable, friendly and engaging. Prime location! Don't expect hot food in the cafe ten minutes before closing... Our fault completely, and the cauliflower was delicious.
It would be helpful to provide a bit more light to the outside of the buildings as rooms are difficult to find.
The stairs were covered with snow very hard to maneuvers. The coffee pot was broken
The location is amazing. The room was lovely, spacious, quiet and in a great location close to the rim. A fabulous family destination - the weather was kind and the location beyond words.
Beautiful room. Great location. Clean. No wifi in room. Sterile, corporate lobby. Cafeteria style restaurant. No continental breakfast.
throw blankets appeared dirty
I liked everything except the pillows The pillows were not ok.
Internet service was terrible. Couldn't even connect to the Wi-Fi until 6 a'm. Hôtel had a letter explaining there is terrible internet service, but that didn't stop them from claiming to provide it before I booked the room.
Near the grand canyon
Comfortable bed Older, with upgrades that look like upgrades.
Great room, clean , great beds Breakfast not as good as others in area
I travel for a living and walked in hotels and restaurants for 15 years. We had a pretty good night stay the first night and upon coming back from the canyon afternoon raising sunrise, we were informed that they gave our room away for the night. They were completely unapologetic and simply told us "we're sold out". The woman we have been dealing with had no explanation as to why we had nowhere to stay that night all of a sudden. When we asked to speak to the manager, we encountered the single worst service industry employee I've ever met my life. She was rude, uninformed and had zero training in how to provide good service to customers paying a lot of money and also how to manage a staff of service industry employees.Run for your lives from this hotel!
Nice bathroom. Nice bed. Excellent restaurant and bar. Loves the cabin type decorating. Friendly staff. Clean One small elevator no frige in room
The hotel was nice, clean, and provided a good experience for our family. The lobby decor was nice and gave you a fancy feel and my son loves all of the animal heads. What we did not like was the restaurant and bar at the hotel. The restaurant was mediocre at best from the food to the service. The waif for just the meal was about an hour. The staff did not pay attention very well. We went to the restaurant and the wait was about an hour and a half and there were a lot of empty tables I counted at least 7 or more. Then when our drink order was taken the waiter only took one drink order and left. When he came back we finally got to order our other two drinks. Also we asked for straws and the waitress came back with one straw when they delivered 3 drinks. When we ordered our food three of us ordered meals but only one meal came out. We wanted to ask the waitstaff where the rest of our food was but they never came to check on us. Finally after waiting for another 30 minutes we decided to close out our tab. I had to got to the bar to get some service and the waiter just handed me the bill without saying a word or asking any questions, or even explaining what happened to the rest of our food order. To put us kindly I will joy be visiting the restaurant there again.
Location. Friendly people. Indoor pool.
The staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. The room was clean, had comfortable beds and a Keurig coffee maker. It was located ~10 minutes from the Grand Canyon rim. It was more money than comparable hotels in the area and did not have a refrigerator (it is a very 'green' hotel so this is understandable).
Location in town. Lobby, gift and restaurant was beautiful. I REALLY didn't like that after a long 14 hour day we come back to our room to relax and the a/c did not work at all. I called front desk and they sent the maintenance man right away but he couldn't fix it. He said he had a new unit in the store room and could swap it out in 5 minutes, but he does not have the key and it was locked. Our only option was to sweat our asses off all night or switch rooms. We had a king bed and we were bumped to a queen bed room two floors down. I am a big guy so this sucked. The worst part is we had ALL our suitcases unpacked and hanging in the closet and our stuff out all over. Took a half hour to pack up to move downstairs. The new room was ok, at least the a/c worked, but the bathroom had a fan in the ceiling and no switch to be found. The towels were clean, but clearly very old. Very disappointed in our stay. I spoke to the front desk concerning a discount on the room based on my experience and was told since I booked with Expedia, I would have to contact them. So I can see where this is going. I will do so when I return home from my trip and I will wait to put my review of my experience on TripAdvisor.Com until I see what happens then.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms, nice restaurant. Only complaint was the heater in our room ran hot or cold, thermastat must be messed up.
Everything was new and plush. Staff were nice. High end for a remote location. Very close to GC south rim. TV remote did not perform.
Very comfortable and cozy rooms. Great steakhouse restaurant attached. Luxurious bathrooms. Pool and many rooms were under renovation. Didn't 'hide' the room renovations so there was some dust and dirt that got kicked up in the hallways.
