The staff here were absolutely spectacular, they went out of there way to ensure our stay in Hanoi was an amazing one! Consistently they helped without asking, even so far as to escort us to the train station to make sure our tickets for an overnight train had arrived and everything was in order.
I stayed at the Calypso for 4 nights during the month of June and I was pleasantly surprised at the level of comfort and the ammenities the hotel has to offered for the price I paid. Aside from the standard ammenities such as in-room safe and plasma TV, the room was also equipped with a desktop computer making it very easy to get into the internet to plan my day. Situated in the Old Quarter is in close walking proximity to most if not all of the attractions in Hanoi. The farthest I had to walk was to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and even then it was just a 12-15 minute walk. Although the Old Quarter is quite busy I didn't have a problem with street noise at night. The breakfast, included in the price, offers both Vietnamese and Western styles. And the food is delicious! I always had the Pho Beef (the breakfast that lifted a nation!). The staff is absolutely wonderful and always eager to help or solve any problems you may have as if they were their own. So cordial as well. Everytime I walk...
We stayed at the Hanoi Calypso Hotel for a total of five nights. When there was some confusion about whether or not there was airport transfer, a vehicle was sent immediately to Noi Bai AIrport to get us. Manager Kevin Le met us at our car, and from that moment on, he and all of his staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and gracious. We were most impressed with the content of the city tour we booked through the hotel. It managed to pack in all of the major sites, there would be no way we could have seen as many things as we did that afternoon had we not taken the tour. The guides and drivers were always very punctual, even if we were running late. As far as the general accomodations, the room was very comfortable. As has been mentioned there was construction happening at the time we stayed, which was noisy, but that is of course no reflection on the hotel, and is a perhaps a situation that often happens in Hanoi. One item particular to mention, we experienced a robbery in Hanoi, my...
the staff is very helpful they are comparative, decent and welcoming. Mr.Tuan *TOM* was very good
Good location. Although it is a small hotel, the rooms are clean and nice. The bed sheet were unbelievably dirty.
Very new clean Hotel with good kind stuff. Location is great! at the midle of very active life in the old city area. It is very good for sightseeing the city. I want to stay again here, this is very confortable hotel. It is better to check out or pay bill with plenty time before the departure. Maybe at the night before departuring the hotel.
Well maintained and hotel staff were helpful. Over-promised and under-delivered. There isn't much difference between the luxury and standard room, therefore not worth the money spent on a luxury room.
Very new and clean rooms, room service every day. Convenient location. Internet in room (Wireless). Only very small selection of food for breakfast
