Cons: The hotel is advertised as being the oldest and fanciest hotel in Hanoi. We splurged and booked a room for one night with a small child. When we arrived, we were told that we would not have a room in the original hotel but would be given a room in the new addition. We needed to pay an extra 60 dollars to stay in the original section. They should make this policy clear to potential guests. We also requested a rollaway bed and they stuck it in the very tight living room, which was about 5 ft wide. The staff at the pool restaurant got our orders wrong--forgot my sons drink, and brought my husband the wrong beer

Pros: 1) The area in Hàng Bè street is great in the old quarter areas of Hanoi. You can move every tourist place by walk. 2) The room is clean with the full facility. 3) Awsome breakfast. 4) Great staff. Every staff is cheerful and helpful. And they can speak standard English. 5) Very reasonable price and you can get full services as big hotel. Definitely, it is my first choice again for the next Hanoi trip.

Cons: The hotel could be a bit more environmentally friendly. While they had paper straws, they came in wrappers which had plastic in them. They also still use the mini bath products that come in small plastic containers.

Cons: Although the entire old quarter area is bustling and loud, there are two bars directly across the narrow street from the window our room faced. The noise on the weekend did not quiet down until after midnight.
There was also a minor issue with the hot water not getting very hot, and although the staff was apologetic, they could not remedy this issue before we checked out.

Cons: The only part that was a little odd was that during one night the cleaning service (I think?) tried to enter our room at 3 AM despite us having the 'Do Not Disturb' light on AND having the door dead-bolted. It was mostly weird because they tried to open the door three times. It was a little unsettling, when we spoke with the front desk, they kind of acted like that was a common occurrence. Regardless, we always made sure to carry our passports with us and lock anything else in the safe and we always made sure to deadbolt the door, but just a heads up.

Pros: All of the staff here were very kind, helpful and hospitable. They were enthusiastic about my visit, plans and making sure I had everything I needed. They even stored my bag for me after checking out and during a hot sweaty day of trekking around the city offered me to shower in their spare shower before I got on my overnight bus. If you need anything at all Lily is your girl!

And my family members like it very much. One point that out of my expectations are the staffs are extremely friendly and helpful, especially Tom, Kili and Huyen (same shift with Tom, but unsure if right name.) They are too professional until i must give my compliment here to recognise their excellent service to us. Eventhough, one of a night we can't use the basin, but my family members willing to accept this as their response were best. Huyen went to our room immediately and tried to fix it, but it was midnight with no tools and helper. They managed to fix it next day and room was cleaned and shine. Tom is always welcome us with big smile, he is patiently introdure the attraction, as well as others of our inquiries.

I am not sure what it was, but everything was stale, tasted funny including the jam & butter. On our third & fourth night we went out for breakfast. On our stay, the first morning they were doing some construction right outside our room. There was no notice to say they were going to to this. It was very loud, and we could not sleep in. Also, be aware of the pagoda getting renovated adjacent to the hotel. So if you are next to it, it gets very loud.
