7.4 Good
Pros: We enjoyed the pool while on our stay. The hot tub was not working at the time. Breakfast was hot and well stocked. Everything was available. Check in and check out was quick.
Cons: We did have a room off the elevator during our stay. It was very noisy until 10 pm. There was a soccer team staying on our floor and the kids were running up and down the halls till after 9:30 pm. Not ideal for getting a toddler to sleep. The parking lot at the rear of the hotel was also noisy and could be heard through our window.

7.1 Good
Pros: Great breakfast and breakfast staff!
Cons: My first clue should have been when the front desk kept picking up the phone and immediately hanging up on me after I called from my cell phone that had a brief sound malfunction. In order to get a hold of them, I had to use my husband’s phone. The party with which we were traveling and I both reserved a double queen bed. My check in was successful. However, the other part of our family was told that they had a single king on their reservation, despite the receipt showing their payment for a double queen. Right after we reserved, the woman in our other party called to request rooms close to one another. She was told (by Andrew, I believe) that we had reserved the last two double queens and that we were on the fourth and fifth floors. I understand that they were busy, but giving away a room that had already been paid for and then lying about it is unacceptable. Our family ended up staying in another hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very we'll kept and clean. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Cons: Bathroom a little small but ok.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Chris at checkin was very helpful.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: My daughter and I stayed her for two nights because we got sick on a driving trip. Our room was very very comfortable. The staff was very nice. Breakfast was good. We barely left the hotel because we weren't feeling well so it was very nice to have a comfortable room to spend our time in
Cons: They could use a few more waffle makers for the breakfast area, they were really backed up. Also probably not an issue for people actually there to do things and leave their room, but the television offerings were a little sparse, would have been nice to be able to rent movies or something through the tv.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Nice room and attentive staff, Breakfast included
Cons: No safe in room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was comfortable and clean, convenient work space in the room, pleasant family-friendly breakfast area. Easy to get to from the interstate, but not so close as to have noise. I would stay here again.

9.7 Excellent
Pros: Hotel room was very clean. Bed was as comfortable as hotel beds can be. Supplied 4 pillows for king sized bed. We had originally booked a room with two queens but upon check in (5pm or so) they had none ready so they upgraded our room to a king with pull out bed. It also had a stove, microwave, keurig, and full size fridge with icemaker. Pool was nice but water a bit chilly. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking is $5 in garage if you park yourself or $10 for valet. We just parked ourselves as we were there for Springboard and just left the car in the garage the next day until it was over. The hotel is about 2 blocks from the Student Sucess center where we began our day so easy walk. They did provide coffee and tea for the keurig which was really nice.
Cons: There were no sheets, blanket or pillow in the room for the pull out bed. We called and they brought up a pillow and blanket initially. We didn't realize until we went to make the bed and there were no sheets. Called again and they did bring them up. The outlets on the one side of the bed did not work. We called about it and they said they may be on a switch or with the lamp switch but nothing we did made a difference. They did not come to check on that or fix it. The bathroom, while nice and clean, was very tight in the shower/toilet area. Like you had to stand sidewise to get the door open and get out.

7.4 Good
Pros: cleanliness, access to highway and plenty of nearby facilities, rooms are comfortable and easy to access, parking was easy as well. check in and out a breeze.
Cons: the pillows were terrible, very small, lumpy, hard i'm not sure why they even had such terrible pillows! was charged a pet fee 20$ as a surprise, which was not indicated when i booked.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was, of course, not the fault of the hotel, but young children in the next room made a lot of noise late at night and in the morning.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Very friendly staff, great hot breakfast service, close to JMU, restaurants, stores. Smaller hotel so not crowded, especially at breakfast. As a place to sleep for a night or two while in Harrisonburg, it works but I wouldn't recommend it as a "great place to stay."
Cons: You can hear through walls, toilets flushing, showers running, talking, etc.; rooms were clean on the surface but I found a dead bug in the corner and hair/dust on the box spring mattress cover. (I always check for bedbugs no matter where I am staying.) The pillows were tiny like travel size pillows. I was in a king bed and the four pillows lined up edge to edge just barely covered the width of the bed. They were also VERY lumpy.
5.7 Okay
Pros: The room was ok just for a quick visit
Cons: The toilet leaked and they knew it but they had made no effort to fix it

Motel 6 Harrisonburg South is conveniently located off I-81 near James Madison University, Valley Mall, Rockingham County Fairgrounds not to mention dining and shopping. Amenities include free Wi-Fi and Micro-Fridges in all rooms, and truck parking.
7.1 Good
Cons: I had misplaced my wallet and despite the fact that my room was paid for in advance through the website and I offered my auto registration as ID they would not let me check in without a drivers license. I had just finished driving 14 hours, I was tired and just wanted to get into my room and go to sleep. I regarded this as dishonest because the website accepted my payment but when I got to the door the requirements changed. Businesses do not seem to understand that they are the primary source of identity theft because they collect all of this unnecessary information on their customers -- and then they lose a million or three customer records with complete names, social security & driver's license numbers, birthdates, and other information. It's a dishonest way to do business plain and simple. I'm getting to the point I'd rather sleep in my car than continue to subsidize a dishonest practice.
2.8 Mediocre
Pros: The only good thing about this experience was how close it was to the Interstate to leave. You pay for what you get.
Cons: Cleanliness. This room was advertised as "non-smoking" however, as soon as you stepped into the room, it smelled like someone smoked 5 packs a day for 20 years in there. Everything smelled bad. The bathroom paint was falling into the tub, holes in the walls of the room and bathroom and he room walls were stained yellow along with stains on the floor, and fixtures were broken. The best part was leaving.
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: Our room was aweful!!! The smell was so bad I went out and bought a bottle of febreze. It didn't touch it. Stains and patches on walls, ceiling and carpet. It obviously had a roof cave in, there was a huge patch and all of the floors heaves so much you could see a 1" gap throughout. Shower was broken, towels were dirty and had void on one of them. Told the desk person when I checked out and he apologized and gave me $10 back. I guess when you pay $60 for a night, don't expect it to be luxury, just liveable.

4.0 Okay
Pros: Good water pressure.
Cons: We weren't expecting a boutique hotel for that price, but the hotel was undergoing renovation and the first room they gave us had no electricity. We moved. Keys did not work. Walls are paper thin. Towels paper thin. Restaurant closed during renovation so we had to walk to sister hotel next door for included breakfast. After renovation it may look better - it was pretty seedy - but had we known we would not have stayed there. Staff was accommodating.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Had a bed and hot water
Cons: Cheap linoleum floors, sticky and dirty, no place to hang clothes, no closet, no clothes rack. Staff act if not their problem when complaining to them. Had to iron clothes before wedding. Cannot trust Kayak to book at a real "Ramada". Won't use Kayak again.
