Unfortunately, we had an awful experience. The Hertz dealer at Shreveport was understaffed and under stocked. I waited approximately 4 hours for my car. The young lady at the desk had to go and wash vehicles herself. There were over 20 customers waiting for their vehicles. I had booked a vehicle to be picked up on the 22nd of June weeks in advance. When I attempted to get my keys, the gal said she could see my reservation. But, she said it was forcing her to charge me again and it would be up me to get my money back for the “extra” charge. I did not receive the type of vehicle I had requested. It was a nice car, clean, filled with fuel and reliable. To top it off the rental was for the incorrect amount of days and the return location was incorrect. We spent an hour and a half, while driving, with multiple agents that corrected the days and the drop off point. As of today, we have not received our refund. The poor gal at the desk was doing all she could do to help. She was not getting any help from the other two workers that were present. She was begging them to wash vehicles and they basically refused. Customers should be aware that they are not able to arrive at the airport, grab their keys and drive away. Kayak should warn customers that they may be dealing with difficulties when renting cars from Hertz at this location.Reviewed 26 Jun 2025

I prepaid for my car rental for a one way and when I got there they charged me another $150 and a deposit. I was only needing it for one day and I feel like it was too expensive. I hate how they hit with extra fees when you go to pick up your rental.Reviewed 25 Jun 2025

We had an excellent experience with Hertz! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Although our reservation was for noon, we arrived earlier with our kid asleep in our arms, and they went above and beyond to get us a car right away so we could leave without waiting, and they didn’t charge us anything extra for those extra hours. The car was clean and in perfect condition. A big plus is that the rental includes unlimited mileage and no extra charge for crossing the border into Brazil Truly excellent service, car, and overall experience. The pick up was absolutely terrible, they were understaffed and we had to wait over an hour and some people had been waiting 2 hours. In addition, they charged us extra to add my spouse which is usually free. Drop off went very smoothly.Reviewed 24 Jun 2025

We rented a van for the seven of us and when we got there they said they had no van and had no clue when they would get one. After waiting for an hour to see if one would show up, they told us they were not going to get one today. Our only option was to get a smaller car, but they would not give any discount for the smaller vehicle. Staff ignored me, was unhelpful and I ultimately had to rent a car through another agency because the “Couldn’t help me.” They were unwilling to change my reservation and unwilling to give me a refund for a reservation for a rental car that was accidentally placed a week later.
