A free breakfast and a friendly setting round out the stay, with dining and the highways close by. Condors soar over the spires and talus caves of the national park a short drive south, the vineyards and tasting rooms of the San Benito valley spread close by, and the old mission and adobe streets of San Juan Bautista sit nearby. The garlic fields toward Gilroy perfume the summer air, and the motorcycle history of the town fills its summer rally. Monterey, the aquarium and the coast lie about an hour west.
