Pros: Very nice and well kept facility. We rented e- bike from them and ride around the whole island. Nice choice of restaurants and close to the main town area. The staff were always friendly and helpful.
Cons: The pool was a little small. The beach close by nothing special.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Simple accommodation in a lovely little resort. Staff super-friendly and location good - a little distance from the busiest area but still accessible. Sandy beach interspersed with some rocky bits, which we enjoyed snorkelling in.
Cons: It seems to be a windy spot, great to keep cool but makes the sea a bit choppy.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Thanks! The staff was always so friendly and supportive. Nice family runned hotel! Breakfast was lovely and nice. What we liked the most: The Hotel shows a lot of ownership when it comes to sustainability. They avoid plastic as much as they can e.g. by serving water in glassbottles.
Cons: Bathroom and its mirror could be better lightened The beach in general was clean, the staff took well care of it - thanks! Nevertheless there is a lof waste on the beaches around due to the fishermen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, the beach, the staff
Cons: The food was so so

Pros: Loved this resort, the staff are super friendly and make you feel so welcome! I’d definitely come back and stay here! The food is fantastic and really good value for money! Ate here so many times as was delicious every time.

Pros: Very nice small bungalows with outstanding sea view from a terace. The food in restaurant was one of the best what I had in Thailand. I can definitely recommend.
7.0 Good
Pros: Road to go to the holtel
Cons: Sun set point
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fai and the rest of the staff were absolutely amazing. From the moment I walked on to the property I felt welcome and at home. Throughout my stay I realized it was not just a service thing; these people really care and are genuinely fun and loving human beings. The bungalow was very quiet, comfortable and clean with great AC and a nice sitting area, but days are better spent on the beaches or in the water snorkeling or diving. The bungalow bar and restaurant are really nice and relaxed, food is great and quite affordable, and of course if you catch a good night for the sunset, this is the place. People were very social and friendly, but also quiet and respectful enough that you could just sit and do your own things; read a book, bookings on the fast and reliable WiFi, or enjoy some live music from island locals and international travelers alike - often times together. Koh Mak has a great feeling of community with local people knowing each other and travelers getting to know each other and mingling with the locals, but it’s also a very peaceful and quiet island. If you just want an escape with some good company nearby if you want it, Koh Mak is the place to go and Banana Sunset is the place to book your accommodation.
Cons: Can’t think of anything
6.0 Good
Pros: Really nice Team. Helped us to get sum bikes. Great Cocktails
Cons: Unfortunately a lot of waste close to the huts we were staying, which have not been cleaned up during our stay. Further is the Pool completly destroyed.
7.0 Good
Pros: The restaurant is in a pretty setting right on the waters edge. There is no beach but the view and ambience is lovely. there is a little wooden deck over the water with mattress that is a huge hit so get here early if you are planning on watching the sunset. the food is tasty and reasonably priced and cocktails at a fantastic price of BT100 each. The bungalows are spacious with nice patios. Good wifi and Aircon. Beds are hard but that's Thailand in general.
Cons: No Beach. Hired a scooter from the hotel but had to change - accident waiting to happen. I suggest if you are hiring from the establishment take it for a test drive first or hire somewhere else.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, the staff is very friendly and efficient, the food is great value and they serve good coffee. Definitely one of my favorite places on the island.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very Lovely host!!! Food unbelievable delicious! You have to try Tom yum and Kao Soy !
Islanda Resort Hotel - Ko Mak - Building

8.4 Excellent (86 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Islanda Resort Hotel in Ko Mak, you'll be near the beach, within a 5-minute drive of Mu Ko Chang National Park and Koh Kahm Beach. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic wiew over the sea.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff was very nice and helpful and the views from the swimming pool to Koh Kam were spectacular. The breakfast was also good. The rooms were spacious.
Cons: No cancellation policy and a bit too pricy compared to other hotels in the area. We did not see any added value to justify the price we spent. The hotel was empty when we arrived. Usually when this happens, the hotel should offer a better room to the customers. Another detail that we did not like, was that the property did not contact us to offer any pick up service from the pier. This was not the case in the other hotels we stayed in our holidays and I think this can make the difference.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Helpful and always smiling stuff, wonderful swimming pool with stunning view, great breakfasts.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location and the view. It’s high up on a hill (and not right by a beach) but the views are amazing and you can head in three different directions and access amazing places within minutes from the hotel. Very sweet staff who don’t speak English, but they still do their best!
Cons: Shockingly run down and in great need of care! The rooms are dark. When we arrived we were given a room with ants and spiders in it.. ants on the floor, on walls and in the bed!! We complained and were given a new room which only had ants on the floor. The breakfast was terrible. Bathroom was ok. The first two days the pool was really dirty but it seemed they cleaned it as then all of a sudden one day it both looked and seemed cleaner... they should however clean it daily! There are signs EVERYWHERE saying what you’re not allowed to do.. it’s strange and as a guest you are constantly tip toeing to “stay out of trouble”. We talked to other guests during our stay and all of us felt weirded out about the place.. one couple told us how the manager had stopped them and showed them a photo taken in their room of a towel laying on the floor. They’d hung the towel up but it had fallen down and they were being told off like children for it being on the floor (!!!).. that’s not ok! Would we stay again? Absolutely not! Has it got potential? Oh yes!! This place could be amazing if it had the right owners!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location on Koh Mak island. Exceptional view from the top of the hill. Very friendly staff. Could recommend to rent a bike for better experience on island.
Cons: A bit costly :)
6.3 Good
Pros: Swimming pool is the top View from the hotel Hotel appearance
Cons: Quality of the food for both breackfast and dinner Too many restrictions from the person responsible from the hotel Book directly on the hotel website othewise you pay up to 7000 bht more

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property itself was gorgeous—expansive and lush, well maintained and quiet. Walking distance by 5-10 minutes to south and north beaches. Close to a small store for water, beer, snacks. Mr. Peak the property manager was incredibly kind, giving, and helpful. He dropped us off at the beach and again at the boat to go back to the mainland without any hesitation. A really lovely stay I’d love to come back !
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Manager of the property was very kind and helpful. They care about eco healthy lifestyle. It's a good choice for active persons, casue they have joga classes gym and swimming pool
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were very spacious with all the amenities as advertised, great Pool and Gym, the staff and owners went out of there way to give information about the Island and activities to do on the Island. We enjoyed 2 snorkeling trips with BB diving, Smile cooking school, exploring the Island on moto scooters supplied at a great rate by the Manager Mr peak,. A very enjoyable hour and a half introduction to Muay Thai as a family Phoenix Muay Thai Gym Koh Mak, at a discounted rate because of staying At Good Time. The location is great just up a short hill and about 10 mins walk from the beach, close to a convenience store and loads of restaurants within a few minutes walk. Also get involved with Trash Hero on a Saturday a real eye opening plus a great lunch for your efforts!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an island and a resort that I will return to again and again. I stayed in a traditional Thai wooden house and I felt more relaxed and comfortable than some pricier hotels I have been a guest in. The owners and the manager, Mr. Peak, are very hospitable to make sure the guests have a great time. The views are spectacular and next time I will record the surrounding sounds of birds and leaves rustling in the garden so I can hear these soothing noises when I go to bed. I also enjoyed the outdoor gym, the friendly dogs who walked with me to the beach (just 5 minutes away), and the healthy breakfast.
Cons: That I had to go home.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: - The general set up is quite pleasant as all the villas / rooms are located in a big garden so its all very green around, with trees and flowers. - At night we loved to listen to the forest sounds (insects, birds,...). - The outside areas (tables, chairs) are pleasant to use in the early morning when its still cool. - Rooms are very spacious and nicely decorated (but villas ate different, some are nicer than others) - The swimming pool is nice and quiet. There was nobody when we were there. - There is no beach in the hotel but the nearest ones are not far (you can go to the beach of the Seavana resort or to the one of the Coco Cape resort) Basically the island is very small so you can easily go everywhere if you rent a scooter.
Cons: - there was nobody at the reception when we first got there and we were a bit left out. (we were unlucky as the manager was on the mainland on that day) so first impressioms were not very good. - the facilities should be better maintained. In the first villa, the kettle did not work. In the second villa we had, the air con was so noisy that we could not use it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Less than 5 min to port with nearby main street with shop, restaurant, apotheke etc.. Also 5 min to another side of island with beatifull beaches.. Owner was so helpfull and friendly person.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good Times Resort is a well situated with walking distance to both restaurangs and good beaches. The best thing about the resort is the staff. Very kind and helpful. The houses are big, spacious and the beds are good for being in Thailand (not rock hard). This is resort in a tropical garden. If you dont mind djungel sounds from birds, geckos and so on This resort is Perfect. (We liked it!) But If you want silence or are afraid of darkness outside This is not the right place since its Very dark when walking Home. A flashlight and more lights in the tropical garden should really be good! Breakfast is good and wifi so so. We give the resort 8/10!
Cons: Need more light outside in the tropical garden
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It feels like you are living in the jungle and good balance of buildings and trees. Not too much deforested to build the resort. They take good care of the gardens/trees in their natural styles as possible. Staffs are very friendly and helpful.
7.5 Good
Pros: The manager of the hotel was very friendly and showed us around the island. The garden of the resort is very beautiful! The room was very big and we had a lovely view on the garden.
Cons: Unfortunately the swimming pool was green the first few days we stayed at the resort. Only the last day the water was clear enough to swim in it. Room service did a half job: they didn't attend our room the first 2 days, the 3rd day they took our towels but only replaced half of it. Besides they left cleaning supplies behind.
6.0 Good
Pros: Owner was very nice bedroom big
Cons: Paid $100 breakfast not even included grounds were not keep up. It should not be called a resort. Very steep hill to climb if you want to go anywhere , which was ok but I could of paid same price and been really at a resort on beach..

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, the place itself is an incredibly beautiful spot. The sea was clear and the staff work hard on clearing the beach. They provide a couple of hammocks and deck chairs to relax in. The coast is rocky but my children enjoyed snorkeling and looking for crabs. I will definitely be back.
Cons: This is a one star resort so don't expect luxury if that's your thing. But if you want to be in basic, quiet, peaceful and natural surroundings then this will be perfect.
