8.8 Excellent
Pros: Castle and surroundings great Putting course great Parking Great Pigeons Great
Cons: Never book a room downstairs, the noise upstairs at night is terrible (very noisy)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location . Brilliant staff . Nice rooms with lovely bathroom. Fantastic service & food at breakfast. Would return
Cons: Room we stayed in close to Kitchen so little noise early morn. Dinner was tasty but very small portions. Left still hungry also service was poor waited a long time for food to arrive . Think this was due to that they had a wedding on so busy .
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The castle is situated in the picturesque village of Amberley and is impressive, with peaceful grounds to wander round in. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The bedroom and bathroom were clean, fresh, bright, with comfortable chairs, and facilities available as well as room service. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: Sadly for me the bed was too soft - I have a tendency to back ache and need a fairly firm mattress. Alas I had to resort to sleeping on the floor - just as well I had an air bed with me as I was also doing some camping. Trying to sleep was also not helped by the fact that having gone to bed for about 10pm, somebody was vacuuming until 11.15pm - I know that because I made a note of it when it eventually went quiet. Not great when you've paid top notch.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The garden room ambience
Cons: No bar
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good staff...everywhere clean and tidy...fantastic views
Cons: Room was just above the back kitchen door..there was a fair amount of activity in and around the yard and you could hear talking and banging of dishes...
7.1 Good
Pros: The place exceeds expectation for character, beauty and the work around the garden is very sensitive to the location in every detail. There are doves everywhere and a very friendly white peacock. Extraordinarily beautiful views both distant and within the garden itself. The building is magnificent, tastefully decorated and clearly loved by the caretakers.
Cons: Some of the staff are lovely and others a little opinionated. The food on the pantry menu is good but not really better than that. I had 2 meals in my room in the evening from the Pantry menu. The first was very dry and unappetising except for the smoked salmon which was very good. I had asked for a large glass of wine but was only give a standard glass.
5.8 Okay
Cons: The outside security lighting wasn’t working on our return to the hotel so we had to thimble around in pure darkeness I missed my footing on the steps from car park and have injured my back and upper leg
7.7 Good
Pros: Well run & maintained a credit to the staff & owners.
7.3 Good
Pros: Fabulous location attentive but unobtrusive staff
Cons: Food in the restaurant not up to expectation and very expensive
7.7 Good
Pros: The suite was spacious and tastefully decorated. The four poster bed was particularly solid and very comfortable to sleep in

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location, food, wine, car-parking and facilities excellent. Beautiful grounds.
Cons: The small room, Langmeade, might have been acceptable (we previously stayed in a much bigger room in the house) but for a too small wardrobe which because it was so shallow meant that clothes protruded, the door could not be closed and therefore obstructed access to and from the side of the bed. (My wife walked into the edge of the door during the night). I don't understand the design of the shower without a door, which however I tried to stop it happening, meant water splashing onto the bathroom floor and me feeling uncomfortable on behalf of the cleaner as a result.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely room and bed was very comfortable. Staff very nice and friendly. Treatment was lovely.
Cons: Our shower was cold on first day. Breakfast was ok but bacon was very salty. Plastic bottles of water in our bedroom -1 each!! You had to ring for fresh milk in room so all you had was the little plastic tubs. For the price we paid We would expect to be well catered for in our room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The bed was extremely comfy
Cons: No power point for hairdryer near a mirror
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a fantastic place. Love the layout, facilities were great and the food was top notch.
Cons: Not being able to stay longer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location and take dogs.
Cons: If you take kids the swimming times are quite restrictive.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Nice, but small, spa
Cons: 1) Over priced, both the room and dinner - in fact extremely overpriced for what it was 2) used plaster in bathroom on check-in 3) took over 5hrs on Friday morning before they made up the room. Had to complain. I'd been out, almost done a day's R&R away from hotel and room not made up when returned. 4) Nice for room to have a fireplace but they should clean out the ashes, makes the place smell sooty 5) staff at breakfast weren't particularly "on it" - gave up waiting to give order for cooked breakfast on second morning 6) Hate having a supposed double bed which is in fact two singles pushed together - its like there is a ditch in the middle of the bed 7) the place is a magnet for wasps - if you like buzzy things this is the place for you - if not stay away. The place has potential but the number of small little things that make a difference between a great place and a disappointment are probably too many.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a special place! lunch in the rose garden, followed by a walk on the beach and a swim in the spa then a great nights sleep in a sumptuous bed! Doesn’t get any better
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: To be honest it’s a bit quirky and does not flow
Cons: The bar area does not work at all

Pros: The staff were polite and efficient in their jobs. The food was very good.
Cons: The room is in need of decoration. A lot of dust under the bed (my wife dropped something on the floor and I had to go in search, unfortunately). I thought the hotel was expensive for what you got.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was so comfortable with all the facilities you need.

Cons: The only tiny thing was, I would have loved some marmalade at breakfast. Otherwise really enjoyed my time there.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Room was small, bathroom extremely small .... although on the face of it the room appeared clean, the telephone was covered in dust & had obviously not been cleaned for quite a while.
7.5 Good
Pros: Comfortable room, lovely breakfast
Cons: The room was too hot, couldn’t get a seat in the bar as all tables reserved for a quiz
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at The Swan was relaxing and enjoyable. The staff are highly professional and friendly, ever ready to assist and to ensure that their guests are comfortable. Breakfast at The Swan , offering a choice of cooked dishes as well as a range of cereals and pastries, is a delight. Lunch and dinner are also served. The hotel is perfectly situated for guests wishing to explore the historic town and a short drive away from gorgeous Sussex downland. Nearby seaside towns are within easy reach.
Cons: Our “indulgence” room was extremely comfortable and tastefully decorated. My only suggestion would be that there could be a more satisfactory clothes storage facility. The bathroom was spacious and sparkling clean.
5.0 Okay
Pros: the location
Cons: Very small bed. old, unclean room and bathroom. very over priced for what you got - the Hilton hotel was cheaper so was expecting a much better stay than what we got. Took a very long time to check in with a lot of confusion and asking for money although we'd already paid. The breakfast was lovely, but took 20 minutes to seat us with a lot of mistakes. really disappointed as it was a romantic treat without kids and it just wasn't up to standard for how expensive it was.

Pros: Breakfast had good choice of cereal, yoghurt with fruit, juices etc, plus cooked choices as well. Lovely to have a proper dish of butter on the table instead of the horrible wrapped pats, and you make your own toast, and there were various pastries as well
Cons: The bacon at breakfast was only just warm, and seemed to have been sitting around for a bit.

Cons: All was good
8.3 Excellent

Pros: The breakfast was good - (not quite as good as it was in the past though) The bed was very comfortable,, and the location was very good.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice. Clean room.Reception staff very friendly.
Cons: A lot of stairs
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location of this period hotel at the centre of a fine town. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The panels written on some walls with the history of the building were an added bonus.
Cons: Some rooms have been updated. Ours probably not, or at least the shower was almost impossible to control. The absence of a lift made it hard to get luggage upstairs to what was clearly once the servants' quarters. A member of staff was most helpful in this respect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful big airy room. Excellent breakfasts and easy parking The staff were extra helpful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location
8.8 Excellent
Pros: There was a great choice for breakfast and it was lovely. The hotel is in the best location to walk around Arundel and for getting to the castle.
Cons: The only thing, and it is being picky, there were some cobwebs in the room and quite a bit of dust around the skirting in the bathroom.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The flexibility of check-in time and the car parking facility enabled us to attend a wedding in the early afternoon. Also the quiet bedroom.
Cons: the hotel met all our expectations
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good location
Cons: Poorly managed. Not good customer service. Everything seemed a bit too much for the staff. Not a particularly happy trip. I wouldn’t recommend it. There are a lot nicer and friendlier places in Arundel to stay.

Findon Rest - Worthing - Bedroom
13
8.7 Excellent (41 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Findon Rest in Worthing, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Arundel Castle and Gardens and Arundel Wildfowl and Wetlands Centre.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location of the property is excellent and the village is lovely. When we contacted the owner she was very helpful and came next day to sort out some of the things we had complained about. There was a kettle and some lovely hot chocolate drink, as well as tea bags, milk and bottles of water. The mattress was good and overall the room seemed fine but it was the small things which let it down.
Cons: The reason I have given a lowish score for comfort was that the room we booked, room 1 on the lower ground floor, had a very low ceiling with steps placed in such a way (up to the bed area)that my husband banged his head at least 6 times on the edge when going down to the bathroom in the dark. To get a single bed in the room they had put the double bed up against the wall so that I had to climb over my husband to get out of bed, rather inconvenient. There was no bedside light on my side of the bed. On the list of facilities it mentions that the room has a fridge, so we brought with us a few things to keep in it. Unfortunately when we arrived there was no fridge, though the owner provided one next morning. The TV was not tuned correctly so we were unable to find the channels we wanted and there were no instructions on how to reach the online tv channels. I expected that the bin would be emptied and the tea/coffee/chocolate drink sachets refilled while we were out but they weren't. This was disappointing. The room description really should mention how low the ceiling is so that anyone tall is aware before they book.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: THE MOST COMFORTABLE BED I'VE EVER SLEPT IN!
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location was OK. Very limited parking for a couple of cars.
Cons: I'm 6'2, I could only just walk around in a downstairs room without my head touching the ceiling. Ensuite doorway had similar issues. Banged my head walking from the bed to the loo, very low beam!! Bedding looked like it hadn't been changed, dirty marks and bits of fluff, not what you'd expect. It was nearly midnight when I returned to the room so I wasn't going to ring the lady on the other end of the mobile phone. (no staff on site??)Cups chipped and dirty. My wife wouldn't have slept there, bloke on his own just got on with it. I realise it's a bargain price but charge an extra £10, I'd pay it, and do the laundry. A few minor issues that just took the edge of my stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: ideal location. very quaint, loved the tv had problems with remote but it was rectified quickly, will definitely use again when visiting family in Worthing
Cons: loved it all , no dislikes
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean , comfy beds, great location, eateries close by. We only had overnight as wedding near by. Great contact with owner and we were able to get in room early, which made a huge difference to our enjoyment .
Cons: Maybe a hanging space outside of bathroom .
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent stayed for two nights and will definitely go back. Very comfortable bed and room was nice.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location, pubs and breakfast cafe nearby clean room prompt communication with staff
Cons: musty smell in room
7.4 Good
Pros: Nice size room, with tea and coffee, ensuite etc. TV had okay coverage
Cons: Shower door was broken, had to fix to use shower, leaked water from bottom of shower. Single bed mattress far too soft, cars driving past/away are very loud.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The property was spotless.it was perfect for us, as we wanted a comfortable place to rest on our road trip.
Cons: Nothing major. Some people might find the bathroom a bit small, but we didn’t mind and it was perfect for us.
5.5 Okay
Pros: love the setup. small but cosy. great water pressure in the shower.
Cons: very dirty bedding, spots on duvet, sheet, hairs in bathroom, rubbinsh next to bed... mould on windows, carpet mouldy, no air circulation, ripped towels, overall cleanliness is apalling.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good location in a quiet village with an easy journey into Worthing. Nice size room and a comfortable bed. Everything worked fine. This is certainly a good value for money option.
Cons: Nothing to criticise really.
9.0 Excellent

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good location for weddings at local venue, great breakfast too
5.4 Okay
Pros: The staff were lovely and the breakfast was good
Cons: The room, even though paying for an expensive upgrade, was dirty, the carpet had shrunk and the wallpaper was peeling. Definitely not worth the money!
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Not much atmosphere in the Snooty Fox.
7.0 Good
Pros: Lovely building, friendly staff, nice location, good breakfast. Lovely comfortable bed.
Cons: Having to use a key for room entry, not electronic. Our room was big, but the bathroom had a big step leading to the bath/shower and toilet, not too good if you are arthritis in hips and find steps difficult and could imagine falling down it and cracking my head open! No lift to floors either, again a little difficult.q
6.3 Good
Pros: Good selection at breakfast. Staff very helpfull. Nice surroundings.
Cons: The room we had been given was right over the kitchen so you could hear the extractor fan humming and the staff talking loudly also lots of banging around of metal tins ect. It was also very dark and hot. We think this room is not suitable for guests it was definately not worth the price paid. In the information book in the room it said to book with the hotel directly to get the best prices and when I looked online you could get a much better room for the same or only £2.00 more plus you would be given a £5.00 bar voucher. Also no flannels or tissues and no table to put make up ect on. No full length mirror . And no extra pillows in the wardrobe despite the information book saying there was. Overall we would stay again but definately not in the room we had been given.
7.1 Good
Pros: Breakfast cooked to order
Cons: Lack of sleep due to someone stomping around until 11.30 pm Starting again at 6.00 am no one available in reception to report it to. NoTV remote control
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was clean plenty of space and well stocked, food was lovely and staff was very friendly and helpful, even our doggie got a sausage cooked for breakfast
Cons: Only thing I would say is maybe a small Fridge in room, it was lovely weather and room was warm and be nice to keep drinks cold, but saying that bar staff put our drink in bar fridge
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely location and a great little pub attached to the hotel. Comfortable rooms and comfy beds. Good breakfast.
Cons: Our room, Persian Lancer, whilst lovey and comfortable, was rather dark and with not a lot of natural light. All other rooms we passed looked lovely and bright however. The shower in the room lacked any power unfortunately.
7.1 Good
Pros: Staff ,all the people are very friendly Great garden Very quiet location
Cons: Room unfortunately was very small Compare to any hotel i have ever been well overpriced for what u get

Pros: I phoned the day before and the check in gentleman very kindly said we could check in at 1pm instead of 2 as we were due at a wedding 20 mins up the road at 2. We actually arrived just after 12.30 but were still able to check in, so impressed with that. The bed was very comfortable Im sure breakfast was ok, but as I only had the scrambled egg on toast and the other family had cereal can't really comment, although the lady staffing breakfast couldn't do enough for us. There is ample parking.
Cons: It was a bit on the shabby looking side, with heavily patterned carpet and wood chip walls, 70's style furniture, wardrobe and chest of drawers. It would be a massive improvement to put down some neutral carpet and get the wood chip off and some nice paint up, also change the dated furniture. It had a messy feel throughout the whole place with random stuff about like the hoover on the landing right outside our bedroom door, and a pile of stuff at the bottom of the stairs behind a curtain, the curtain doesn't hide it at all. We have been to many b&bs and it did feel scruffy here with a functional bathroom with a huge thick line of filler type stuff between the back of the basin and the wall. Also bit measly with the tea/coffee stuff, one packet of biscuits with two biscuits in so a biscuit each and although I know they don't have to provide these most b&bs we have ever visited have put 2 packs in for a double room. Also be aware this b&b is not right in the middle of Arundel its on a very busy road next to the train station before you get to Arundel town centre, so we were disappointed but then that was my fault for not researching enough on the location. We were there to stay after a long day at a family wedding and im afraid we weren't particularly looking forward to getting back to the b&b as it felt shabby, which makes you feel its a bit grubby, to be fair it wasn't grubby but it sort of felt that way, and usually when we stay away after busy days out we look forward to returning to a nice b&b.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean comfortable room. Generous breakfast. Easy, convenient location.
Cons: Slight noise from road as we were at the front
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Could do with a bit of a paint up inside and out, and gardens should be tidier

Pros: Friendly helpful staff, and old fashioned homelessness of hotel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff we're very friendly and helpful, even allowed us to leave the car in the car park after check out, which you don't get in many places. Hotel had a nice bar and an excellent breakfast with plenty of choice.
Cons: The hotel was clean but it's very tired and dated, it could do with re-decorating throughout and would benefit from new fixtures and fittings.

Pros: Clean, spacious rooms, well appointed. Friendly, helpful staff. My partner was competing in a National Sports event in Arundel and we had a good nights sleep with easy access to the town, couldn’t fault it for our needs.
Cons: Location - the hotel is 25-30 minute walk from town centre and the walk is along busy roads with narrow pavements.

Pros: Very friendly, efficient and helpful staff, I was made to feel welcome and any special requests were taken on board with a smile. Excellent service - with a smile.
6.7 Good
Pros: Breakfast was great on the day that we partook. Under food counters could do with a deep clean. Nice breakfast.
Cons: Whole hotel could require a lot of TLC and refurbishment, certain areas were not up to the standard I expected for the cost, no Grab rail for over bath shower, for instance. Although a notice was at the entrance smokers were still congregating at this area.

5.0 Okay
Pros: The village was nice. Able to arrive at a time that suited us as access was via key code door.
Cons: Lack of local directions made it difficult to find in the evening without a sat nav. Bathroom was a nice design but was not clean, particularly shower. Paint splashed on the bathroom floor spoilt the appearance. Coffee cups were dirty and sticky and had to be cleaned thoroughly before use. Bedding had not been ironed or pressed and as it was an off white colour it all looked a bit grubby and uninviting. Pillows very flat. Floor was very creaky and noisy. Sockets not accessible.

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: It looked lovely from the outside, and it was near the seafront, Not a lot I can’t think of anything good to say about this hotel
Cons: It looked lovely from the outside, and it was near the seafront, inside was so different, and so so noisy, there were people moving about from about 4.30 am, which woke me, the room was dark as it was at the back of the hotel windows were so dirty and you couldn’t see out of them, but the only view you had was over the bus depot, No it wasn’t a nice experience, then after I was booked in they said the restaurant was shut 3 of the four evening I was booked in there, the rooms were so so noisy and disappointing I left the hotel early, as I was so fed up. So No I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone, it old the walls are thin, and the floors are so uneven, wish I had gone to the Premier Inn, then I would have had a peaceful nights sleep, and stayed the full time instead of coming home 2 days early, total waste of money, really spoiled my holiday, never again. And the parking cost £6 a day, as the hotel had no parking, you even had to pay for broadband
10.0 Excellent
Pros: great location .confirm bed. bath in the room .
Cons: nothing
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Facade and location
Cons: Old and tired and pokey
6.7 Good
Pros: Bed was comfy. Great sea view. Big room.
Cons: The shower was awful, no power at all.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent Breakfast, very clean rooms.
Cons: Very noisy in room from Bus depot behind, till late evening and early morning. The creaking floorboards made it very noisy, from the hall corridor and the rooms above and beside you. No staff in the Bar have to ask Reception. Paying for parking and such a busy road to try and load your bags with traffic flying past.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location. And the staff were helpful
Cons: The breakfast service was awful. The towels were old and the hotel has a tired look and feeling. For the money charged it is not good value for money
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good stuff
Cons: The staff
6.7 Good
Pros: The breakfast was good quality and plentiful. The waitress could have done with a little coaching on customer awareness and "smiling" skills!! Otherwise, it was good. The reception staff were as helpful as they could be in spite of a concert due to take place on the evening we arrived.
Cons: The bathroom and facilities are a bit tired. The toilet had an overflow issue which we didn't report. These issues are obvious and should be part of the management's daily routine to ensure the hotel meets the standards they set for themselves. The hotel is a rabbit warren complex of assemble properties, built at different periods and different floor levels and heights. Negotiating our way around was to some degree confusing and not helped by the narrowness of some passages on the upper floors. Not ideal for the infirm elderly or wheelchair users.
5.8 Okay
Cons: Room outdated holes in wall Peeling artex on ceiling Loss electric fitting Bar staff struggling to understand my order
7.9 Good
Pros: Location was great as it was very near the seaside.
Cons: Cannot open the window as it will be too noisy. So not much ventilation if window is closed for too long

Pros: Good location and comfortable room

6.0 Good
Pros: Food and staff were excellent

Pros: Staff very polite and helpful, breakfast was good. Great Chinese next door. Hotel provides all day local parking vouchers for £6
Cons: The hotel is rather tired. Lift was not working and i was on the top floor
5.4 Okay
Pros: Staff friendly
Cons: Beds were twins pushed together and kept parting to leave a gap in the middle. Not so cleaver for a romantic break wouldn’t
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Location on seafront very good and central to a27. The bar area looked fresh and modern inline the bedrooms.
Cons: Cleanliness poor as was extremely dusty!!, twin bedroom so slept in a single bed which had a single duvet cover on it but the actual duvet wasn’t even a single size. It only half filled the cover. State of fittings and furniture were poor and all kind of out of place. Price paid was disproportionate for the level of hotel.
7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. Good location just on the sea front.
Cons: Drab decor. Old fittings. Rattling sash windows. Boungy bed springs. Car parking in street not always available and cost £4 a day.
6.7 Good
Cons: The party was noisy in the functiomrolm and people kept smiling so it set the fire alarm off twice and woke me up!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice location close to the beach. About 20 mins walk to train station and refused parking costs thru hotel
Cons: Sash windows rattled when windy which was disturbing to sleep. Lift was out of order throughout stay.
