Pros: Everything was excellent. The only complaint I have is that the time flew by and it was time to leave.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic.
6.0 Good
Cons: Didn’t get checked in til 5pm. Wasted a part of the day waiting to check in... they say we could use the facility pool etc but to have to go through our luggage getting swimwear in parking lot Was not ideal.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: wonderful beach, very clean, great gardens, very nice timeshare unit with all conveniences, well-equipped gym
Cons: It would be nice to have a real restaurant. The parking spaces were very narrow no lap swimming pool roosters wake me up at 4 am
Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort And Spa - Koloa - Building
9.3 Excellent (2,086 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa is located along Poipu Beach, which is one of the most popular beaches in the United States for tourists. At Grand Hyatt, guests can enjoy everything from picturesque views from their lanai to world-class dining options on-site. There's even a business center for those who are visiting for work or need to check in with the office. Both standard rooms and suites are available at Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa. There are ADA accessible ones as well. Depending on the room, amenities can include a private lanai, Whirlpool tub, flat panel LCD television, coffee maker, safe, and robes. Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa offers eight eateries and bars. Tidepools is a romantic restaurant that's made up of thatched-roof bungalows and surrounded by koi fish. Sushi lovers should be sure to try Stevenson’s Sushi & Spirits, which has a wood bar, lounge seating, and an outdoor lanai. In addition to these options, guests can book an exclusive beachside dinner under the Hawaiian sky. Though there's plenty to keep guests busy on-site, there's much to do off the resort grounds in Kauai as well. Guests looking for some adventure can take an ATV ride or enjoy a helicopter tour, which is the best way to see all that the island has to offer. There are many attractions to check out, including the Napali coast, sugar plantations, and movie locations. Those looking to absorb culture and nature should make time for the Allerton Garden and the Na ‘Aina Kai Botanical Gardens & Sculpture Park.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: great pools and beachfront location, amazing landscaping
Cons: resort is almost too large. Also, some areas need a good scrubbing. In the 5 days that we were there, pool was not vacuumed and pool tiles need to be scrubbed.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property. Ocean views are well worth the price. Our room included breakfast brunch which was extensive and on an open floor with fantastic facility/ocean views.
Cons: You have to rent (read: pay) for cabanas.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facility and the grounds are beautiful, and the setting is stunning! This being said, the greatest asset that the Grand Hyatt has is it’s staff. From the front desk to the grounds staff, these are great people! This was our fourth visit, and we’ll be back.
Koa Kea Hotel & Resort - Koloa - Bedroom
9.3 Excellent (1,347 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located on the south shore of Kauai, Hawaii’s “Garden Isle”, the surrounding area enjoys year-long, gorgeous sunny weather ideal for outdoor activities. Just steps beyond the patios of oceanfront guest rooms is Poipu Beach, one of Kauai’s most swimmable beaches, popular for snorkeling, kayaking, surfing, and other water sports. An on-site beach activity center provides equipment rentals, lessons, and local recommendations with ease. Nearby, hike ocean cliff-top trails, explore charming Old Koloa Town, tee off at Kauai’s best golf courses, or visit spectacular natural sites at Spouting Horn and the National Tropical Botanical Garden. Any time of year, stay golden at Ko`a Kea Hotel & Resort.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Facilities are more intimate than the neighboring mega resorts (Hyatt / Marriott). Top notch service with great amenities. Rooms are well appointed and the beds are some of the most comfortable we'd ever slept in (and we travel A LOT). Pool is quiet and very relaxing. Beaches are steps away and provide a relatively quieter experience than the surrounding beaches.
Cons: Restaurant is overrated and overpriced. Just tries too hard to be something it isn't. Pool bar is wonderful, but drinks are a bit pricey ($14-16 avg)...that said, they are delicious and the bar tenders are great (shout out to Jamie!). Not much to complain about here, this resort it top shelf.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: We Really liked the easy access to all the amenities. Large resorts are a drain on a laid back vacation... Large resort this is NOT. We really enjoyed being just steps away from the beach and pool area. We would definitely come back!!
Cons: The reviews for Red Salt sounded astounding. We are there our first night and wasn't impressed. The food was definitely okay but just not as astounding as the reviews led us to believe.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service, very nicely appointed rooms, truly oceanfront experience without the gaudy mega resort layout to navigate to get a great view and easy beach access. We had a garden view room, but unlike big hotels where that means a view of the parking lot, this faced a nicely manicured and quiet lawn area, and all you had to do was step out and you could see the ocean. Every time we passed the big vacation club next door with the screaming kids, aqua-aerobics, and vacationers packed like sardines next to each other, I was grateful that I had booked this place.
Cons: Pool bar was not open for many hours, pool was too warm and shallow for any real swimming, and it would be nice if there was self parking allowed, but it's a small hotel, and I get they don't have the space!

7.1 Good
Pros: The staff were wonderful.
Cons: We have stayed at your location before and this time we were booked in an ADA room. I was really really upset that our bath tub was not as it was before. No other rooms were available but I was really looking forward to the tub in the rooms we had previously stayed in.

3.4 Mediocre
Cons: Unfortunately just wasn't what we expected. Checking in was fine. We had a amazing view of the back of the restaurant and seeing all the servers smoke and talk story, maybe that's why their service sucked so much! On a number of occasions we tried to trade out wet towels for dry towels but there were no clean towels! Even when it rained and our towels were soaking wet they didn't have dry ones to dry ours kids off when getting out of the pool, hopefully they don't get sick! There was a lot of inconsistency when it came to security and checking for the slide. Some workers would allow my kids to go and others would say they weren't tall enough. We ate at the restaurant on 3 different occasions every time the service was awful. Pricing for food was really high for the amount and quality you were getting. The last day our server by the pool was awful. She never wrote anything down so forgot everything we ordered. After an hour of putting our food order in she said they were trying to look for hot dogs and couldn't find any, I could have gone to big save in that amount of time and cooked them up and fed my children. We ordered something else that took another 45 min. There was no sorry or anything for the time it took to just get our food. When you have starving children in the sun all day not the best time to be taking a while to get food. We depended on the restaurant because we were in a studio and couldn't cook anything. No one warned us about bringing our slippers in from our slider door and how awful the water smells. In the morning after the sprinklers went off, all of our stuff smelt like sewage!!! We called and asked for a later check out and they apologized but someone would be checking Into the room, since we could see the room from the restaurant they didn't even get to cleaning it until after 5 pm!!! i am just so shocked they have such a huge place with great potential and you can't even find a manager around. I know they are now merging with Marriott but go to the Waiohai you will have a much better experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love the pool grills allowing us to cook our own dinner, the stove tops in the room, washer and dryer in the room, quick beach access, wonderful sunsets seen from our balcony, well maintained greenery, even the friendly local altered feral cats with tons of personality. The luxury robes were fantastic too and the washer and dryers in the rooms saved us a ton of time
Cons: The gym is a little bare in regard to equipment and the spa was a little overpriced which deterred is from making an appointment.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Everything, the staff was excellent
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Units are nicely furnished. Pools are nice and staff is very friendly.
Cons: Not on the beach.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, new facilities and the staff was very friendly and helpful. A variety of excellent restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance.
Cons: It's a bit of a walk to a sandy beach but there's not a lot of it on this coast. Construction of the new pool area was a bit of an eyesore but they'll be complete soon.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Pools were fantastic, kitchen was well stocked and well used during our stay. Staff was friendly but not intrusive. Grounds were lovely, including a soccer field for our active teen.
Cons: Not truly beachfront — had to walk ~10 min to reach nearest beach.

For night we checked out two DVDs (no rental charge) and were given a free bag of microwave popcorn to enjoy with our films!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Paintings, welcoming staff, sweet potato pie breakfast, gardens
Cons: Close to road and was occasionally noisy
6.8 Good
Pros: We liked the location to the beach, and the value for the room. There are restaurants and shopping nearby.
Cons: It took a long time to get luke warm water for the shower, the rooms are small, but you can't beat the value of the rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The personable service of the staff and the location near a swimming beach and some good restaurants. The nice touch of having coffee, fruit, small snacks and candy treats throughout the day. They also have towels, beach chairs and other accessories for the beach available for no cost.Twice during the week the owner made a delicious sweet potato pie with fruit on top. If you're looking for a small boutique inn and not a major change give Garden Island Inn a serious look.
Cons: It was a little difficult to find but once we did the location was convenient to shopping, groceries, restaurants and getting to both parts of the island.

Cons: Leaving!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing grounds, and wonderful staff. You'll love the pool and beach. The on-site restaurants were delicious. Plus, when we mentioned it was our honeymoon, they upgraded our room and even provided a complimentary bottle of bubbly.
5.4 OK
Cons: Not good value for money. Hidden taxes on top of room fee, plus compulsory resort fee on top of that. Go somewhere else.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice size and layout. Coutryardl let in a nice breeze. Rooms were a good size. Master bath was a good layout. Location was excellent and the grounds were impeccable, truly stunning. Front desk staff professional and friendly.
Cons: We kept getting contacted multiple times a day trying to pitch us to buy into a time share and to see how we were enjoying our stay. We repeatedly asked them not to call but they ignored that request. Probably the biggest complaint. Upgrade appliances.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, amenities, very well maintained.
5.0 OK
Pros: Location, size of room.
Cons: The dead roaches and jumping bugs. I was promised a garden view room when I booked, but got a view of the parking lot instead.

5.4 OK
Pros: Good location. Big rooms.
Cons: Room was moldy and I got very sick.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a 1br King condo that was near the road (cheaper) but had an amazing view of the walkthrough gardens. 5 min walk to the beach, they provided towels/chairs and our unit had a couple of body/boogie boards to use. We made A LOT of use of the provided equipment as well as the complementary access to the Poipu Beach Club which has a pool, hot tub, bar/grill, fitness equipment and such. Easy walking access to shops and restaurants (HIGHLY recommend Keoki’s Paradise restaurant).
Cons: No air conditioning but the condo was well “vented” for natural airflow. Constant construction happening in the area and started at 7a EVERY weekday. Traffic through Kapa’a (which has NOTHING to do with the resort, you’ll need to KNOW about the horrible traffic if you’re traveling to the North Shore - Princeville/Hanalei area).

8.8 Excellent
Pros: I like our ocean view room, but because it was literally right next to the elevator it was classified as the garden room to offset any noises from the elevator. However, we did not hear any noises even though we are light sleepers. The room was clean, unlimited towels was nice. The calm ocean beach front was excellent, as well as the amazing pool which was opened until 10 pm! The bar was nice too! The king crab buffet was ok for $53, we enjoyed it. Best it was centrally located to both north, south , east and west of island. I had an amazing stay and did not want to leave.
Cons: I wish the bar and pool Would open until 11or midnight. The room Services sucks, really expensive for the food you get. Definitely not worth the money. We ordered peppercorn steak $40 and roasted vegetable salad $15? , and porguese soup, all was below average. I hope it was because its 10 pm at night that's why food service was awful, but what's the point of room service if the food is gross regardless of time ordered.
4.0 OK
Pros: Location, beautiful island
Cons: We were tricked into a room with a Murphy bed. Super uncomfortable. Also"ocean view" room was a view of a wall

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, clean, great staff, beautiful resort
Cons: Can’t think of anything.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff. Shawn was our night greeter and after a long day of airport travel he was very helpful.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: So many pool options
Cons: Non swimable oceanfront
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, beautiful driveway to the Resort. We had an amazing time there, we stayed 3 night. A lot of good things to visit are close by but you will need a car. Prices are a little all over the place but Spa for example is cheaper than neighboring resorts. Overall very good value, clean nice rooms, clean pools and clean resort overall.
Cons: Some buildings need some reno. Lot of rust on buildings and the ones that are “renovated” they just simply painted over rust with white paint. As I mentioned prices are all over. Food is very expensive and its mediocre, the shop is also very expensive. Funny thing is Grand Hyatt is a much more expensive place to stay (we are staying here 4 night after Kauai beach resort) yet food is about the same or cheaper (but its much better) same with the shop. Also room smelled like the A/C hasnt been cleaned in a long time and it also did not work that well.
6.5 Good
Cons: The resort appears to be concerned about vacationers stealing from the hotel. Towels must be checked in and out with a towel card. Failure to turn in a towel card at the end of the stay will result in a $20 fee per card. Our iron was attached to the ironing board via a short cord. This made it very difficult to use. I assume the cord was to prevent me from taking the iron home? This is the first time I've run into issues over towels and irons. Otherwise the resort was okay.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Nice staff. Good value for price!
Cons: Beach not suitable for swimming.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool area is awesome. Several selections for food and cocktails. Free valet available. Daily room service. Lobby is beautiful. We were very happy with the resort.
Cons: The additional resort fees added to your bill at the end. Most of the resorts have it but it was still disappointing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pool Staff dining Conceire Location
Cons: Not electronic friendly rooms (plugs/USB) Parents not supervising their children around pool and grounds
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were very nice the grounds are completely beautiful and the pools are the nicest we've seen anywhere!
5.1 OK
Pros: They got us a room fast
Cons: At the end of our stay, we waited for the shuttle. When we had waited the appropriate amount of time, we asked again about the shuttle not being there. They told us the roads were closed due to a car accident and the shuttle was stuck in traffic. We asked about another shuttle possibly being sent out with us and the other couple waiting for the same thing. They told us the wouldn't send another one out because they assumed both sides of the road were closed. They told us our best bet was to start walking. It was 3.5 miles to the airport! When we walked out to the main Street, we realized the traffic was only stopped on one side of the road, and the other side was open for traffic that way (towards the airport!). They just didn't want to bother sending another shuttle out! Horrible customer service! About 1.5 miles into our walk, a nice man stopped and let us ride with him. Would not recommend this place due to this incident.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: On the beach, two hot tubs, a fantastic pool slide, elegant waterfalls, good poolside service, concierge proficient, location nearby Lihue and minutes from Kapaa. Restaurant and facilities were beautiful and comfortable.
Cons: Not quite clean in room
5.7 OK
Cons: Air conditioning didn't work in room all the time wouldn't change our room

Pros: We needed one extra night between timeshares. We were able to stay here, which is where our 2nd week is! The staff were so friendly and accmodating to our situation. We were able to stay in the “hotel” room until our timeshare room was ready. It was just a few doors away, and in the pouring rain, it made moving so much easier. It’s an older facility, but very clean and the location is awesome!
Cons: No elevators.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was great and we wound up in a garden view room which was really nice.
Cons: Front desk staff was not great.
7.7 Good
Pros: The location was convenient to where I needed to be. The staff was friendly.
Cons: The building I stayed in was quite far from the main desk area and the valet car pick up area.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The aloha of the staff was the best we've ever experienced anywhere. Our housekeeper Delilah was the most friendly, accommodating and welcoming person I think we've ever met. She really went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. We'd go back just for her. Overall, the grounds are very clean as are the rooms. The place is a tad dated but well cared for. Our room had an outstanding view in bldg 1. On site restaurants were good but pricey. We opted to drive offsite nearly every night for more reasonable fare. The locations is prime. Great beach, nice pool, and very close to retail shops and very good restaurants.
Cons: Our laundry facilities were in bldg 2 on the other side of the grounds. It would be nice to facilities in each bldg. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were terrible. Down and foam filled were the only two options - both of which tend to flatten out to nothing which offers zero support for your head and neck.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location in Poipu. Great Beach. Room was recently updated.
Cons: AC sounded like a jet engine
9.4 Excellent
Pros: We spent one night and two days on Kauai while visiting family on Oahu. The Sheraton was perfect for this. We were able to check in early and to check out late, making the most of our little time on the island. The room was clean, bed super comfortable and the staff were all helpful and friendly.
Cons: Like most resorts, most things on the grounds were pretty expensive.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: My flight didn't leave until 10:30pm I was only able to extend my checkout until noon.

Pros: The room was large and exceptionally clean. Enjoyed the private verandah off our room with beautiful plantings creating privacy. Lovely pool area and continental breakfast. Staff were very attentive and because our room was ready, they were kind enough to let us in much earlier. They have SPECIAL SPECIAL rates for all of Kauau's activities. You'll enjoy this boutique hotel. We'll certainly be back.
Cons: Towels for pool were too small and worn. Fluffy towels are good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very unique, quaint hotel. Clean room, very friendly staff. It was nice that there were washers/dryers on site for laundry
Cons: Slightly off the beaten path, if you care about that (I don't). A/C unit was very loud. I had to shut it off, because it kept waking me up
6.8 Good
Pros: Room was nicely appointed with comfortable bed. Parking was very convenient and the young man who checked us in was very nice.
Cons: AC was so loud that it was impossible to get a good night sleep, even the neighbors AC could be heard in our room. A little better cleaning wouldn't hurt either. My wife dropped an earring and found quite a bit of dust and a sock under the bed.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was very clean.
Cons: Decor was dated and rooms are showing their age, but everything was in working order.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Low key relaxed setting in lush gardens. This old style Kauai hotel has air conditioning, large flat screen TV, good shower, local pets to entertain you, continental breakfast and very accommodating staff. We stayed for one night but could have stayed longer.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, quiet surroundings, friendly staff.
Cons: Need a car to get places
6.6 Good
Pros: Mid point from all the attractions.
Cons: Outdated decor and roosters crowing at all times of day. The coffee and complimentary breakfast/snacks weren't on time at the stated 7:30am
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and clean. Will stay there again

Pros: The location was great and the surrounding grounds fantastic. The beech was a short walk, the grounds were pleasant and the whole area was beautiful. We had a great time there. We arrived early and while early check-in wasn't possible, the staff was really friendly and helpful -- supplying beech towels and storing our food that needed to be refrigerated.
Cons: The unit was a bit flawed. The carpets are very worn and the supplied kitchen supplies minimal.

6.0 Good
Pros: Proximity to everything. People were nice. Bed was fairly comfortable. They had coffee in the morning. The landscaping was very well kept up with.
Cons: The back side of the building wasn't very impressive and that is what you see when you drive up. The room was small. Other than that, everything was fine. Parking was a little tight but still sufficient.
6.5 Good
Pros: Location is good. Price is quite cheap.
Cons: There were a lot of ants. The AC was quite old and loud.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: It was so convenient; being in a excellent location. It was very clean and had modest physical replacements to a older quaint hotel. It I is nice to wake up with freshly made coffee in the lobby. Convenient parking. Quiet location for a good nights rest. Great price for modest hotel. Considerate staff
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff were very friendly and room service was available when requested. The price was pretty great as well. A good hotel for someone staying for a few days.
Cons: There was an ant problem in the bathroom, mold on the bathroom ceiling, and my floors appeared as though they haven't been swept in a while. It would have been nice to have breakfast available too.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: I liked how quiet it was for the overall stay.
Cons: I had to wait till 3pm to check in when I stated I would be there before noon.
