On Rt. 30, close to the shopping outlets. Breakfast provided. Homey atmosphere.
was a little disappointed in breakfast from the reviews i thought it was a hot breakfast with eggs etc... They did have eggs( hard boiled) I specifically stayed there because i was looking for a good breakfast for my family everything else was great but the breakfast was not what I thought it would be
loved the room....quilts and such gave it an Amish feel...porch with rocking chairs...very comfortable beds...slept great...will stay there every time I visit that area...staff great...very clean no dislikes
Location staff Carpet could have been cleaned better
My family stayed 2 nights~the beds were perfect and the room was clean. The folks working there were polite and efficient and friendly~loved the pool & hot tub. The adjoining restaurant provided room service~excellent food at reasonable prices. We will be staying there again :)
Outstanding value for money!! A World traveler sends.
You are able to 'smell the clean' at this Inn which is something you are able to immediately notice. This is not a chemical smell but a very comforting, clean, and refreshing scent. This Inn feels like home and has the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in when lodging on vacation. Most of what you may need or may forget when vacationing is accommodated for and the staff is very friendly. This was my second time staying at The Country Inn of Lancaster and after this second wonderful experience, just as the last, I will not stay anywhere else! The only thing I can think of to write here is that, as a country inn may have, the floors in the lobby are very slightly uneven due to a rustic-feel which may make walking through with walkers or wheelchairs momentarily uncomfortable but this is not the only entrance and I am certain that the staff can accommodate any need!
Room decor Areas need updating
Cozy country atmosphere. Rooms were spacious and clean. Pool and hot tub was great. Sink and shower filled up and drained extremely slowly A fitness center would have been great.
Clean, staff was very helpful and friendly. Our stay even included breakfast. Will stay there again! Can't complain about anything.
The suites are generously sized and in great shape. Hotel was clean, and looked relatively new. Very close to the sites we wanted to see. Service was average, and the heating system needed to e turned up to about 78 before it put out adequate heat. Other than that, a fine experience. Would stay there again.
We went to Dutch Wonderland and this is perfect location, right across from the place. Very clean, big rooms. Kids loved the pool, b-fast was good too and can't beat the value - FREE. Wallking or short distances to restaurants, outlets, and other shopping. Easy to get to as right off major high way, only 100 miles+ from NJ. Perfect stay if visiting Thomas Day Out/Strasburg Rail station, Dutch WOnderland, and Hershey Park. Only thing missing is a gym. WIll stay again.
My wife and I stayed at the hotel for a week in a very delightful room with a separate sitting area and a second TV. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful and you shouldn't miss the complimentary cookies at the check in desk. The morning breakfast area was large and amply stocked with a great variety of food and the lady who maintained it was expecially pleasant and efficient. The only negative to whole week was the condition of the indoor pool. Apparenty, the pool filter had somehow discharged sand into the pool and was not filtering the water. As a result, the water had a scum of some sort on the surface and was murky so that you could not see the bottom. The hot tub had been treated with some product that produced a frothy white substance like Tide suds on the surface. I informed the front desk that their pool filter was not working and the conditions that i've described. The manager said that there had been some problem with the filter system and it was being addre...
This hotel was wonderful. Clean, cheerful with easy access. We stayed there two nights and were also impressed with the breakfast that came with the reservation. It was billed as a continental breakfast but they also served eggs and sausage. So it was really a full breakfast. We had a two queen with a sitting area. Perfect for putting our son to bed and then we could stay up and watch tv. They also had wireless internet which worked perfectly and plenty of plugs and table for all the electornics. Room also came with a DVD player for one of the tvs. There were two. There is also a computer room for any of the guests. Also right across the street to DutchWonderland. We walked several times back and forth. Great pool too and towels available at the pool. The only problem we had was one of the the beds was way too soft. We found out too late that the other one was better. So test the beds out and let the adults have the best one.
Check -in and staff efficent and helpful. Breakfast and pool excellent. Only negative is low voltage lighting. Highly recommend this hotel.
Really nice place - very very clean and the staff is very very friendly and helpful. It is on a very very very busy Route 30 however. We had a 1 bed-suite and it was very roomy. It has a mini-refrigerator, microwave and one-cup coffee machine (the coffee is very weak and not very good); the breakfast room is very clean and the staff there is friendly and helpful and replenishes constantly - they have: toast, bagels, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, cereals, waffles, fruit cocktail, juces, coffees & teas, flavorings (for coffee) - very nice. There is free computer access and a room with 2 computers for use; a pool, fitness room, laundry room. The negatives are: the mattress is too firm, pillows are too firm, the tub floor is higher than the floor of the room so it throws off your balance, water pressure is terrible, water softener causes your skin and hair to feel slimy, towels are cheap. Depends on what youn are looking for. The rates are very reasonable and it's a very clean place so ...
served its purpose for a quick night's sleep between visits to Dutch Wonderland which is directly across the street. Hotel was quiet this year compared to last visit and everything wenk ok.
We stayed for only one night, I would recommend at least two. It's centralized for Dutch Wonderland, Strasburg Train/Day out with Thomas, and Hershey Park. We have three kids, all in one room. They loved the pool and we love the location, service, quality for $ paid for. Builiding is kind of new too, close to restaurant and outlet shopping, not to mention Smoking Free and Free Breakfast. Can't be beat.
We picked this hotel because there were 6 of us traveling. It was a great deal to stay here. The accommodations were excellent. We enjoyed having the two separate rooms. It was quiet in the bedroom with the door shut and it allowed the adults in the other room to be able to move around freely without waking kids in other room. Breakfast was great. Friendly staff. Close to all local attractions. Highly recommend!
Great place to stay with little ones. The separate living and bedroom area were perfect. Hotel was very clean and had everything we needed. The value for the money was good and location of the hotel to local attractions was wonderful - I would highly recommend it.
we were well taken care of during the blizzard. Staff was very accommodating. Restaraunt good was very good. Wishing they would've actually opened the Restaraunt and served breakfast for those of us STUCK bc of the 32" of snow. Continental breakfast gets old fast and is unfulfilling. Also, they could've offered a discount on food and room feed to those of us stuck there. I asked. It wasn't an option. Floor creak when someone is room above you. You hear walking, showers, and toilets flushing.
The hotel was beautiful and in a great location. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and clean. We loved our stay and will go back. The restaurant had great food and the bakery was wonderful as well!
Lots of business travelers. Upper end place for town. front desk very helpful and a beautiful young lady. Bar was pretty dead . went out to a few of the local spots within walking distance.
Clean room. Nice open feeling. Liked the historic feel to the hotel. Mattress was terrible and eliminated a 4 star rating.
The old building has been put to a fabulous new use. The old beams, woodwork and bricks are very interesting. The toiletries and lines are great quality. We could hear our neighbors in the middle of the night. A man checking in at the same time as us asked for a government rate, that was $40 less then we paid. How much subsidizing do we have to do?
The overall design, comfortable beds, free breakfast, friendly staff Knowing where you were allowed to park, finding the main lobby - we drove passed the entire hotel a few times
The charm and atmosphere of this hotel were present from the point we first set eyes on it. The restored factory look pairs rustic/historical elements with a chic sense of modern decor. The rooms were spacious enough, but still felt cozy. Continental breakfast was great- featuring goods from the on-premesis bakery. The Cap and Cork Restaurant / bar was also a nice stop, on par with many of the major dining locations in the city. My fiance and I actually spent some time just walking though the hotel, checking out the old parts of the building, and getting a sneak peak at the ballroom / reception area (gorgeous!). We've already planned to go again! The only minor complaint was locating the hotel. It is not far from a major road, but the hotel building is part of what used to be a large factory complex. The rest of the complex was turned into offices/shops, and the hotel sits back behind them. There are also 2 entrances, one of which takes you around the back of the building, which may be confusing your first time.
Delightful bed Coffeemaker Toiletries Inconvenient outlets in room--and a lamp without a switch that only worked off the wall switch. Paper and plastic cups = downmarket
Very nice feel of old and new combined. The hotel building is a gorgeous piece of history. It's remodeled to perfection. The neighborhood is not the best although we were able to walk safely from the hotel to downtown Lancaster. I wouldn't do the walk a second time. Hotel is located just a short drive to many amenities. I would stay here again.
The hotel was great. Great location. Clean. Nice staff. As nice as any Marriott we have stayed in. Restaurant was understaffed and food was not up to Marriott standards. We could have purchased better food at any of the other local restaurants within walking distance.
Location I didn't sleep well because of a fight in the hallway that took the hotel stuff way to long to resolve. Also I'm a platinum member and was unable to get a king room that I requested.
There for a dance convention with my daughter. The hotel was fully booked but the staff did a great job of managing a large number of guests. The elevators were a problem since everyone started and finished their workshops at the same time of day but they could not control that. You must always have your room key since elevators won't go up or down without a swipe.lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance. Room was fine, clean and not too small. Quiet as well.
Could have a refrigerator with a freezer....shower could have worked better ,,,breakfast could be better
The location is good, but this was my first time ever at a Windgate/Wyndham, and I will never stay on one again. The shower was moldy, and the fabric chairs and one bedspread were stained, so we had to use bath towels to cover them in order to sit down. Worst of all, when we moved the ottoman to sit on one chair, there were remnants of food and paper from the previous tenant of room 121. Clearly, the manager never checks the housekeeping work!
Rooms were clean BThroom had some pungent smell but over all ok See above plus there could be bigger breakfast area Was crowded for breakfast
Room was clean and the free breakfast was good. Location was great being behind a dunkin donuts, a wawa, and closer to the intersection of 30 bypass. The staff was very friendly.
The room was large and comfortable. We could control our own heat.
Very comfortable and quiet room Evening receptionist was rather indifferent
We had 3 adults staying in the room, and still had plenty of space. Room also had a small outdoor balcony which although it was cold was still nice to have. Location was further outside of Lancaster City than I wanted. It was a decent walk to get to the places that we were going.
Excellent restaurant; friendly staff; pleasant bar; handsome design street noise; bed not firm enough
I arrived to check in, delighted to find I received a free room upgrade. The room was just fabulous, impeccably clean, the amenities, and so on. Would most definitely return. I cannot suggest anything to improve the hotel or its services.
It was beautiful and not over the top. We were lucky enough to get upgraded from a Queen suite to a King. The room was large and comfortable. They gave you complimentary bottled water daily. Also they dropped off a rose every day. Those nice little touches make a stay that much better. I would really love to go back :) They have artwork for sale all over the hotel. I was so afraid I would accidentally bump into $24,000 artwork. Also for some reason our room did not really heat up, it was kind of chilly.
decor : the artwork was interesting and the lighting well planned also the outdoor patio was very cozy
Great Hotel, rooms are really really nice, beautiful bathrooms. Love that it had a bar, which was a lot of fun. Great atmosphere, was very pleased with the choice and would stay here again.
Beautiful surroundings Interesting bar Location is very convenient without being congested Room was somewhat cramped but it just added to the character of the hotel by the end.
The room was spacious and comfortable. Sorry I didn't get a chance to try the restaurant connected to the hotel.
The historic character of the building; Staff was very helpful.
Very serene, excellent atmosphere. Had an unusual smell, but we quickly became accustomed to it.
enjoyed all the elevator was too far from our room making it difficult for handicapped persons
Breakfast was great, rooms clean, lots of parking. Small room, door slightly malfunction and could not exit without disturbing others when they were sleeping. Slightly pricy for a small room!
Central location to the places we wanted to visit. Close to highway but not on it. Friendly staff. Decent hot breakfast. The pillows were awful. Had 3 under my head and they just squish to nothing. If staying here again definitely bringing my own.
Comfortable at a good price nothing comes to mind
Everyone was very nice and helpful during our stay. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The indoor pool was so nice. Our kids loved it. Thanks for a wonderful stay. The breakfast buffet could have had more choices. It took a while to get the special orders for breakfast.
This hotel is obviously very busy, but it is also very well-maintained. The staff is very courteous and helpful. Very comfortable for a business trip. Frequent soccer tournaments in the area mean excited kids roaming the halls in the evenings, and the doors to the hallways are not very sound-proof.
The breakfast buffet was terrible. By the time you get your food to the table everything is cold. Had to wait 15-20 minutes to get scrambled eggs.
It was quiet and a good place to stay for a quick weekend get away.
Staff was very helpful; I changed from a 2-bed to a 1-bed king size room with no red tape about 4 days before our stay. Also the day before asked for an early check in with no issues; we then asked for a check-in even 2 hours earlier than originally planned with no issues....we had to do some ironing before a wedding. Great parking, lots of room, and there is a restaurant right there...not sure if there is any free breakfast or not though. Very clean hotel though. The elevator is on the extreme end of building. Also there is a unique smell in the hallways. Be careful using the sink and especially showering because the water goes from warm to VERY HOT when turning the handle only minimally!!
The place was very clean. The staff were very nice. Easy drive to outlets without having to be on the main strip. Didn't get very good sleep because the mattress was too firm.
All staff we super friendly and accommodating. Spent 5 nights there. Great outdoor patio bar area- good food reasonable prices. Need new equipment in workout room either out dated or did not work- only negative - easy location to everything
excellent main restaurant matresses need replacement
Hotel had no hot water. They did not notify us when we checked in or I would have gone to another hotel. Staff was very indifferent to this fact. We were part of a larger group staying here and other people had to have rooms changed due to double booked rooms and doors that wouldn't unlock.
They were very nice and accomadating to my family. Very clean and we'll kept! Everything was a walk in the hotel. Should of put this closer together.
Location was ok Elevator out of order. ATM out of order. Soda machine out of order. Staff self absorbed. Very unfriendly and no help at all. Way over priced for this type of hotel. Will never stay there again.
When we first got to the hotel we were in a rush. Unfortunately we got a set of key cards that didn't work. Then, even our replacement keys didn't work. You would think this would be a negative review. But they handled this all very. Very helpfully. The room cleaners helped us into the room and understood our time issues. Everyone in this hotel did their best and I would absolutely stay here again. Absolutely nothing
Nicely appointed. Very clean. Very friendly staff from the front desk to the Bistro/bar to the maintenance staff; everyone seemed very proud to work there. The food service/prep staff were very gracious and the young man who prepared the food was very interested in our satsifaction and opinon. Lovely room and big comfortable king size beds with great pillows. Convenient and nicely equipped work out room. Indoor pool (small) and whirlpool. Lovely courtyard with poolside-like lounge chairs and a small gazebo. Great for reading, getting a little sun or quiet time. WiFi and wired access throughout. Very little not to like. If pressed I can only say that the menu of food available at the Bistro is very limited. There are no omelettes or speciality faire available. However, given the type of hotel (business, traveler, tech-friendly), this is to be expected and they did a wonderful job with thier offerings.
Very welcoming and friendly staff. Great location and nice room. Perfect place to stay and experience all of the downtown options for dining and drinks. Free breakfast was lacking choices.
Room was nice. Price was good fpr the area. Hotel was clean. Parking was affordable. Refrigerator did not work well
We were in town for a wedding that was held in another hotel that was booked. I was pleasantly surprised by the Hotel Lancaster. Sometimes you don't know what you're going to get when you book online. It was as beautiful as the photos on the website. The room was clean and the bed and pillows very comfortable. Although it was brief, we had a very nice stay.
Hotel was very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location is definitely prime, very easy to walk to anything in the downtown area. Breakfast included a nice variety of fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, muffins, hot and cold beverages. My second night the wind was incredible. I found it quite distracting that the window was not able to be closed tightly and every time there was a burst of wind, the window banged. In the middle of the night I finally shimmed the window with some brochures. The elevator does close very quickly!
The front staff was very helpful and accommodating, i also found them to be professional yet down to earth- a combination that is getting more and more rare. Room was nice, and clean- bed was comfy.
The room was clean. Easy to get around. Great restaurants close by. No microwave.
location Old hard boiled and stale toast for breakfast , blood and fecal matter in shower , and roaches
Location, friendly helpful staff, clean, good breakfast
Location and value Wifi was so as molasses
Room was spacious. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very limited. Bathroom door was in the way of bathroom.
Bathrooms were too small and tube was not clean.
Quite good value in a convenient location. Needs more convenient electrical outlets.
location, cleanliness, service around (Amish experience) no
I stay here when in Lancaster. The hotel is away from the very busy area and has beautiful farmland views - peaceful and lovely hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful.
The staff was wonderful. The view was amazing. The room was awesome! We cannot wait to return.
liked absolutely everything....will highly recommend to others
The room was clean and large. Parking lot fills with tourist traffic during the day.
The beautiful location. From your room you look out at the fields and Amish farmhouse and school. It is just so peaceful. The adult wing is so quiet; you will have a great sleep here. They have a lovely indoor pool and hot tub and hot tub. There is nothing about this Inn that I don't like.
The hotel itself is lovely and immaculate, located in a peaceful and relaxing Amish countryside setting. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. We especially enjoyed the hearty, Amish style breakfast each morning and the large swimming pool. There was not one thing to dislike.
If you are looking for beauty and amenities this is!
Great bedding. Quite room. Great hot tub. Good free breakfast. This is minor but while staying in adult rooms only a little inconvenient to get to room. Fine for my husband and I but anyone with walking issues might not want this room. Did not care for brand of coffee.
Our experience at this hotel was fabulous! They gave us an upgrade, the accomodations exceeded all of our expectations, view from our room just lovely and to top it off...breakfast was way above average. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Room view... Fresh food...grounds..
Very nice hotel that's worth the extra cost. The breakfast that is served in everyday was exceptional. Room was not ready at checkin. No problem as we were ready for dinner anyway. At checkout we were offered a comp for dinner the next time we visited.
No soap was available, found a couple bugs in the room, shower head was loose, wall socket cover was damaged, sheets had stains
The staff was very nice. OK if you are a worker looking for someplace to sleep but not for a vacation stay.... Common areas dirty and worn out. Room had broken chair at the desk, headboard on bed was not secure to anything and almost fell down, several lights were not working. The common areas very poor and need of complete makeover with some paint, new floors etc... Pool water was green and I would not even go into the pool. Inexpensive but if you can afford something better you will be much happier. Last time for me at a Day's Inn.
Location near downtown Lancaster - Was told by staff drinking tap water not recommended - Water leaking around toilet with water stains - Broken shower faucet - Mold in bathroom - Room not clean - Door did not close all the way - No shower exhaust fan - Neighbor can be heard clearly through vent
The location is good and the cost reasonable, but still overpriced considering they put nothing into keeping the facility clean and updated. The rooms are in disrepair, including rotted baseboards with mold in the bathroom.
I see they have improved the rooms cleanness and courteous staff. I enjoyed my stay. I am planning on holding my next event at this location because you have a social Lounge.
The pool was nice. Had to relocate to three rooms to find a suitable one. The first was supposed to be non- smoking. It wasn't. Second one had a leaking, iced up A/C unit. Third one was OK. Staff seemed bothered with their responsibilities.
Staff was friendly and very helpful.. . they seemed anxious to please and be of help. Some of the equipment seemed outdated or in disrepair. I realize the building was older and in process of renovation.
The heater unit worked well, it was a cold night in 20's. The facilities were a bit older, but clean. The bathroom had no fan which was causing the ceiling in the bathroom to peel. The breakfast was limited, but good. The dining room was very clean and pleasant. I could hear others conversations through the thin walls. On Saturday night (8-10pm), many people were rowdy, out side yelling. The environment became very uncomfortable as I needed to leave for an event.
Nice pool Not clean, bandaids on the walls. Unprepared for breakfast. Long lines, no forks, no oatmeal, poor fruit. One waffels machine for a full hotel. Had to skip breakfast.
Nothing Place is creepy, employees don't give a crap about customers.
Breakfast was good. Friendly staff in the dining area. Room wasn't very clean. Mattress sagging and in need of replacement. Only one tiny trash can for 2 room suite with a kitchenette. Front desk staff unpleasant, and indifferent at checkout.
We enjoyed the convenience of our downstairs, outside room near the dining room. The breakfast is a wonderful way to begin our day. There is a kind lady in the dining room who is so very friendly and brings around hot, fresh baked cookies on the weekends. We found out she walks 40 minutes to and from work every day. All of the employees are very accommodating. We stay here every time we come to PA to visit our son and his family.
The hotel is very beautiful and great quality. We stayed in a the 1-bedroom suite and it was so nice having the door that shut off from the bedroom. Included a nice kitchenette stocked with things you need to cook. Very impressive. My only complaint was that we arrived at 2:45pm and told our room wasn't ready yet. We sat in the lobby with 2 impatient young children, and waited 1.5 hours for it finally to be ready. I know check in wasn't until 4pm but I felt they could have done more to either get us into a different room or have ours cleaned quicker. Others were checked in while we waited so I know there were others available. Otherwise the staff was pleasant and the breakfast really nice.
The new Homewood Suites by Hilton Lancaster, was a very pleasant surprise to us! This hotel goes above and beyond the call of customer service. Their suites are very spacious and clean and the decor is perfect for Lancaster. We absolutely love this place, so much that we extended our stay for 4 more days, had a great discount on rate and enjoyed the evening reception that they had through the week and to our surprise it included beer and wine... Cheap for everything you get at this hotel, its worth the extra dollars!!
Size of rooms. Cleanliness of rooms. Available TV channels. Cost. Nothing - everything was satisfactory. Getting from the car to the door going inside to the rooms was rather cold.

The beds were comfortable. I took all the bedding off to check for bedbugs and there were none. There was no hallway noise or noise from neighboring rooms. The breakfast was pretty good. The dinner was pretty good too. No.

Awesome weekend breakfast buffet! We used the lobby restroom a couple times during our several day stay, and I was disappointed that there is not a baby changing station in the restroom. Disappointed that there was not a diaper changing station on the first floor.
Fantastic for families with young children!! Would definitely stay here again. Free breakfast, separate living area, full kitchen, great pool.
