Location slightly out of town but still easy to get around.

It's rated as 3 stars but better than some 4 stars I have been. Highly recommended.

Not all rooms are non-smoking.

Clean modern rooms with enough space for comfort (not enormous but fine). Double glazing and excellent air conditioning, noise no problem at all. Lovely hot strong shower! Good buffet breakfast with lots of choice. Right across the road from the fab Gulbenkian gardens, musuem, gallery and cafes. Metro and shopping centre close by, 3-4 mins walk, so very easy to get downtown, and the price is much better than downtown hotels. Good choice of bars and restaurants within 2-4 minutes. Some staff very helpful (some less so)

Room initially allocated was smoking and a bit tobacco smelly. Fixed the next day though, replacement room was lovley. (If it happens to you, do ask). Be aware the hotel is used by lots of tour groups so can be busy in the reception, breakfast or bar if you happen to coincide with one. We didn't find this a big problem. A couple of hotel staff rather cold and unhelpful - others very friendly and efficient.

Nicely located just near the Gulbenkian garden. Quiet area, although we had some unluck with constructions going on outside (not the hotel) first morning. A few minutes walk to the nearest Metro station (inside El Corte Ingles). The one outside (ECI) is under reconstruction for a line connecting to the red and yellow line. So public transport will be much better in 2008. Far enough selections for breakfast, perhaps some fresh fruits and real yoghurt? We stayed at the 8th floor. Reasonably quiet although no sound proof walls. Friendly and helpful staff.

Lacked fresh fruit for breakfast otherwise we did not dislike anything about this hotel.
