Nothing There was no one at reception when we arrived at 1-30pm we were locked in at 9-00am and had to use the fire escape, there was only enough hot water for one person to shower, the restaurant and bar were closed on night of arrival. We tried to complain but the staff did not understand our English or Spanish. We cancelled the third night through bookings . com and had a message in English left on our bed but no one came to the Hotel for us to complain to. Also the hotel was not a short walk to the beach it took at least half an hour if you could find the correct path
There was no electric socket near a mirror for drying my hair. No fridge in the room for keeping water cold.
excellent localization, spacious room with nice terrace staff very nice but only Spanish speaking
The hotel has a good location, but the prices seemed quite high. Very clean and convenient, no breakfast included a pity, but the location covered most of disadvantages.
The situation of the hotel and the parking facilities are good. The beach and boulevard just in front of the hotel. Rooms are spacious and all with necessary comfort. Free WIFI on your room just ask the code! For breakfast just go outside the hotel for a cafeteria near the ocean. The reception has a dual function with the cafeteria next door so there is most of the time no friendly welcome. Because the hotel has a large vide in the middle it’s sometimes noisy.
Not anything Dirty carpets and room as well as balcony.Breakfast poor and staff servicing it unfriendly;and cannot speak English.Hotel should not be on Booking.Com's list.....rather Hotel La Casa del Califa
The architecture and the geographical situation There was only one member of staff to welcome us, a fairly distant receptionist. The room was fairly cold and there was no hot water in the evening of Friday 13 (!) February 2009 when we stayed. We were told that they had a problem with the boiler. We got some hot water eventually by 9am the next morning.
Spacious accommodation considering it was originally a monastery. Great location and views with some authentic touches. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Slight smell of drains in my room but Vejer de la Frontera is the real Spain!
The staff were very helpful and the location of the hotel is good, near the old town. Beds too hard!
The atmosphere was lovely and its situation in the middle of the town good. Parking was better than anticipated with parking permit for street parking. Food excellent We had no complaints
It's a lovely old building full of character & is right in the center of Vejer. Our room was large with a good bathroom with bath.
Very clean. Staff very friendly. Restaurant available all evening and food v good standard. Location beautiful Can't think of any.
Excellent view & location Lack of parking
Full of character the hotel has retained it's identity as a former convent . The room was no-frills but very clean with efficient (if noisy) airconditioning, although the bathroom shower was poor and it could do with updating. The receptionist was charming and very helpful with advice on which beaches to visit and places to eat in the evening. We found the location confusing as the narrow streets are all alike (rather like a maze) and we had difficulty finding our way around Vejer. It's not so easy with a rental car as you have to park about 6 minutes away down in the town car park. However, we had a very restful night's stay, although I wouldn't have liked to stay more than the one night.
The complete lack of informalty and relaxation
Big rooms each with little patio.Indonesian style. Fair breakfast. Parking on the territory. Close to the beach (100 m).
Beautiful location, great included breakfast, beautiful hotel. Some inexperienced staff.
The atmosphere at the patio was nice at night, and they serve cocktails. The first night we had part of a group of friends looking for the nightlife in the area in the room next to ours. Since they left after midnight and came back before sunrise (and walls are so thin that you can hear even regular conversations, imagine 4 people loud laughters), sleeping that night was a no-no. Beware of afternoon receptionist's walking time indications; she seems to be a very fast walker.
The location is perfect for walking around the lovely streets in the historical section of Vejer de la Frontera. The hotel is quaint and informal. We had beautiful views of the countryside. The TV remote did not work and staff do not stay there through the night so guests are on their own. Breakfast was meager--white package supermarket Supermarket bread we could toast that came directly from the freezer. Orange drink not juice. No fruit. Coffee. We visited in December and room in which we ate had no heat. There was a cold wave so it was quite cold, even in our room, which had a heater high up on the wall. Only the side of the room near the heat was warm. Prepare to eat breakfast elsewhere, but if you are here during Christmas, few restaurants are open.
We had a lovely stay .manager was very helpful .Hotel was very clean and although basic was more than enough for a enjoyable stay .We will be staying again in the future Parking could be problem as there is no parking near hotel but saying that its only a 5 min walk from the square up a slight gradiant so allow for light luggage if its an overnight stay. Otherwise no problem.
I liked the fact that it was small and friendly, very clean, good facilities and a wonderful view from the roof. Off the beaten track suits me well.
Beautiful quiet hotel in Vejer.
Fantastic view from bedroom window. Good location - handy for town centre Very poor breakfast and no fresh orange juice. The roof terrace could have been made more comfortable.
It was right in the historical section of town. Quaint old building with a fabulous view! Adventurous journey to find the hotel through cobble streets that are narrow and winding. We stumbled across the "town hall" where the locals were playing Flamenco which was fun. Located near the central plaza. Our room was extremely small and damp! Breakfast was not worth the time. Just ok if you are traveling alone and cheapest place in town.
Good location and very quiet. Very handy for all local restaurants. Owners very helpful. Reception smelled of cat urine and this carried over into the small dining area. Cat basket in evidence suggests the culprit
Quiet, relaxing, superb views, clean, super shower, wonderful decor and condition, helpful reception. Located right in middle of old quarter, excellent kitchen. Thought the pricing was on the high side when compared to other similar properties we used on our holiday. This was the most expensive.
It's a small nice hotel. We enjoyed our stay and definitively recommend it.
The room & bathroom size, the cleaness Rate quality/price, the breakfast, the non international staff, the fake description on the website: wifi only available at the reception with a low signal, not at 150m away from the beach but more than 1km, no hair-dryer in the room
That I could get breakfast in the morning. The room was big and good, There lack everything like holder for the towels, toilet paper etc. The toilet worked badly. They gave me a room for smokers and I am a non-smoker. There lack hand soup. These are small things but it is annoying. It was as if there was a cloud of bad mood over the town and the hotel. I cannot put my finger on it. But on the other hand the family at the hotel were kind enough. The light in the room was poor it was difficult to see when your are working.
