9.5 Excellent
Pros: The whole place was restored and renovated to a very high standard. Room had a superb large bathroom and the room was a good size and very comfortable. The Breakfast was excellent, even though I was nor aware that it was continental. I like it more than the standard full English one. The chance to eat breakfast on the terrace with a superb view was really nice when the weather is suitable.
Cons: Could do with improving wifi access for bedrooms. I had to sit in the lounge to get a connection. The location is a bit far out from the centre of Dartmouth and there is a tough climb back if walking that some may find hard, although, Personally we did not find it that bad and only used a taxi once - cost £4

The hotel is in a great position for exploring Dartmouth, it is with easy walking distance to all of the main attractions . The hotel supplies a free parking voucher that can be used at several other car parks in the area as well s in Dartmouth.
Cons: The pub opposite can be a bit noisy. The parking is limited outside the hotel, however the main car park is close by, it can be difficult to find a parking space during the day.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming staff, great breakfast and very relaxing. Just what we wanted!
Cons: The heat, but nothing could be done about it a sit was a very hot night!
7.5 Good
Pros: Room was comfortable and everything was in the right place. Plenty of accessible power sockets and somewhere to sit. Plenty of space for clothes, luggage etc.
Cons: Breakfast service was a little slow but they run on low team numbers so to be expected. The advice is to relax and I guess that's fair enough. Was a little taken aback that a kitchen that cooks eggs couldn't do an omelette due to not having the right pan. Would have thought this is soon remedied. Maybe I should travel with my own pan to loan out in these circumstances

Pros: We absolutely loved everything about this place. The quirkiness of it was amazing. The place and staff were both outstanding. I have booked to come again with my other half this time!

Pros: Unique beautiful location. Charming friendly staff. Comfortable beds and delicious breakfast
5.0 Okay
Pros: Liked location ,room was okay .
Cons: The bathroom needed some attention in our four poster room, ,tired looking as did much of the outside woodwork , lack of varnish etc ,it was shabby not shabby sheek. Also dogs are allowed to run amok, both the owners and visitors which results in dog poo left on the garden since visitior's may be having breakfast whilst their dogs run around unsupervised outside. By the way I like dogs. Visited this B&B in the past not quite at the same standard

8.3 Excellent
Pros: good excellent scramble eggs more choice on cereals or fresh fruit/yoghurt
Cons: the room was excellently decorated and the beds were very very comfortable with lovely clean bed linen but was disappointed with the shower as it needs replacing as it has poor flow. stained shower tray and does not drain very well when showering so you stand in water
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant location near harbour, shops, pubs, restaurants etc. Parking on road outside free 2 hrs and from 4pm - 11am so great for overnight stay. Food excellent both at breakfast and evening. Large bedroom and bathroom, big king size bed with lovely soft bedding and great towels.
Cons: Great atmosphere in the pub, particularly on Weds, Fri, Sat when there is live music. This was very loud in bedroom 5 so it was impossible to sleep until midnight. Best to stay up and enjoy it !

Pros: We really enjoyed our weekend away in Dartmouth the hotel was centrally located. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming, the bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. We will definitely be back.
2.8 Mediocre
Pros: Should not be open to public in its current state. Above a noisy pub w. pool table, live rock music. Downstairs entryway strewn with household items. Doors & passageways not secured properly. Heavy wear and discolouration on carpets & walls. Furniture & fittings cheap and worn. Toilet/shower tiny, cheaply equipped & in poor repair. AVOID.

Cons: There is a pub on the ground floor and it was very noisy till midnight
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were a little apprehensive as some of the reviews were not good but this could not have been further from the truth. We were greeted by Chris and Claire the new owners who along with the bar man could not do enough for us throughout our stay. The Rooms were spotlessly clean and beds really comfy . The breakfast was great also the bar meals which we had on both evenings of our stay. There was a live band on Friday evening and music on Saturday which both finished by 11.15pm.We would defiantly stay again and wish Chris and Claire good luck for the future.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Kaywana Hall Luxury Bed & Breakfast in Dartmouth, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Blackpool Sands and Dartmouth Museum. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kaywana Hall is not just a boutique B&B, it's an experience. The room was comfortable, luxurious and chic extending outside to private decking with chairs, table and parasol. Relaxing in such beautiful, well-furnished and tranquil surroundings is recommended. Breakfast was perfect; plenty of choice with quality, fresh, local ingredients. We particularly enjoyed the freshly squeezed orange juice, homemade granola and crispy sourdough toast; from full English to eggs and smoked salmon, it set us up for the day. It was cooked to order and served by the hosts along with friendly conversation; very welcoming people generously sharing their 'ubercool' space. There were individual and thoughtful touches throughout our stay that contributed to the quality of this booking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfasts were superb. They were made from very good quality produce and cooked perfectly with a variety to choose from.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is much more than a B&B, this is the little luxury escape you deserve. Kaywana is so peaceful, but yet so close to Devon’s Kingswear and Dartmouth. It all starts with the secluded driveway through the trees winding up to the Butterfly House. Every detail is taken care of. You feel so at peace with nature, with full height windows that bring the forest into the room. Little extras like the hand made fudge in your room, luxury toiletries, blue tooth sound system and a small library in the room. Gordon couldn't have been more helpful, from meeting us at the driveway to get our bags, to running around after us at Breakfast. The breakfast was so personal; just a few guests to enjoy locally sourced organic produce that was carefully crafted in their kitchen. The rooms all face different parts of the forest, giving full privacy. We only saw the other guests at breakfast. Our room was spacious, allowing separation of the sleeping area from the living area, with separate shower and a deep bath to soak in. We had a great nights sleep in clean luxurious sheets in such a comfortable bed. Our only regret is we didn't stay longer. We travelled from Perth Australia and plan on coming back in the near future. Thank you Gordon & Tony for a wonderful break.
Cons: Nothing to dislike, except we didn't stay long enough.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was private with its own decking area. Very quiet so good for relaxing. Nespresso machine with choice of decaffeinated pods as well as normal varieties. Everything you could need was in room including delicious fudge, shortbread biscuits and sweets which were replenished daily. Bathroom facilities were excellent with lovely toiletries. Breakfast was cooked freshly and served by the owners in their beautiful home.
Cons: Can't think of anything that needed improvement.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic Hosts, couldn't have done more. Linen and comfort of the bed was better than any 5* hotel we've stayed in. The product in both mini bar and bathroom were again better than most luxury hotels.

4.5 Okay
Pros: Has some facilities on the entertainment and sport side of things. The shower was quite good.
Cons: Rooms need updating and little dated with tiny old fashioned tv’s and decor. Wifi was useless for doing anything that was work/business related! Pros: Hosts very welcoming and everything very good. Had dinner in the bistro which was excellent
Cons: The sausage at breakfast but then I am very fussy with sausage
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast really lovely, hosts really lovely, fantastic location. Really lovely evening meal and entertainment
Cons: Nothing we didn’t like
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Central location in historic Dartmouth property, the ideal base for us whilst doing South West Coast Path / kayaking / boat trips. We paid extra for a large room, with sofa and lots of space for our adult children to chill with us (they had another bedroom upstairs). There’s a fridge (useful, as brilliant wine shop on the Butter Walk nearby selling Sharpham Estate wine) brilliant amenities in room (proper coffee) and we had a lovely meal in the restaurant. Breakfast is generous and freshly cooked. Staff couldn’t be more helpful. Dartmouth is a lovely place to be based, but the accommodation options are limited so we were very glad to have found this.
Cons: We loved it, but be aware that this isn’t a “hotel” - these are well appointed rooms above a restaurant, the owner lives upstairs and is on site. Nowhere in Dartmouth is cheap, but we felt this was a good value option.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The scrambled egg at breakfast was the best I have ever had. We had a meal in the Bistro on one night and it was perfectly cooked. The room was large and comfortable and bottles of water and biscuits were provided along with the tea and coffee making facilities. The town centre position was perfect and we managed to park nearby.
Cons: I don't think we disliked anything.
9.3 Excellent

Pros: This is a great place to stay and the location is perfect in Bayards Cove. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating with our needs and can't praise them highly enough. We were travelling on Motorbikes and turned up a little early and were looked after very well. The food was excellent too. Nothing to fault whatsoever in the rooms either. We will definitely stay again next time we are in Dartmouth.

Pros: Comfortable bed. Great views across the river Dart.

Cons: The shower in the room. Although the water pressure was good, the flexible shower head was so close to the wall it made it VERY difficult to achieve a comfortable shower.

Pros: lovely room great staff excellent food perfect position
Cons: Problems with the lift which was sorted
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location by the River Dart by a private marina, so away from the crowds but within easy walking distance of Dartmouth centre. Very comfortable large bedroom with river view. Food was of a consistently high standard over the 3 days we stayed, with freshly cooked breakfasts and high quality dinner menu. The hotel staff were helpful, friendly and provided outstanding service - combined with all the hotel facilities and great location, this made our stay very enjoyable.
Cons: Our room had an easily controllable shower over the bath which flowed ok, with nice Elemis toiletries, but a more powerful flow would have been ideal.

Pros: Location and cleanliness was excellent, reception staff and housekeeping excellent
Cons: Overpriced meals in restaurant, breakfast nothing special and arrived with half food missing off the plate. My father ordered scrambled egg on toast and got a full English breakfast even though there was no one else waiting for food. Staff were rude to my elderly parents because they hadn't booked a table, could understand if busy but there was one other couple and only a handful of people all evening. No lift or disabled facilities in bathrooms
