Overview

High-desert country frames the SureStay by Best Western Lovelock in Lovelock, Nevada, a small Old West town set right along Interstate 80 between Reno and Winnemucca. Road trips, fishing weekends, and gold-country exploring all find an easy base here. Newly renovated rooms make a quiet place to land, with high desert views and a relaxed pace. About 22 miles north, Nevada State Parks manages Rye Patch State Recreation Area, where a Humboldt River reservoir with 72 miles of shoreline draws anglers after walleye and bass along with boaters and swimmers through the warm months. In town, the Lovers Lock Plaza invites couples to fasten a padlock and toss the key, while the Marzen House Museum and nearby Lovelock Cave trace the region's pioneer and archaeological past. Local eateries, a friendly small-town pace, and wide high-desert views round out an easy overnight at this Lovelock base, a handy halfway point on the long drive across northern Nevada.
