6.7 Good
Pros: Spa was lovely and staff were very friendly and helpful. Dinner was very good.
Cons: Room and furniture was very tired and room smelt of stale smoke. Majority of hot buffet was cold at breakfast.
6.0 Good
Pros: breakfast was great.
Cons: this hotel needs a refurb. its looking tired.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were lovely, food was very nice, spa lovely and new part is nice.
Cons: Rooms in old block VERY dated, bed uncomfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The spa facilities/cleanliness/staff were all excellent, furniture in room could be doing with an upgrade but overall good value for the money.
6.6 Good
Pros: Staying in a castle
Cons: Rooms were poorly decorated and sparse. Not what you would expect from a castle. Additionally the food was very bland and highly overpriced for the descriptions. Not what I expected from a 4star resort and spa.
7.0 Good
Pros: We booked a family room which was larger than standard, clean although a little 'care worn' in places but overall nicely turned out. The Hotel public areas were very clean and the restaurant (breakfast and dinner option) was very good, attentive staff, well presented food Excellent breakfasts in particular!
Cons: Wine list more than a little uninspiring and expensive for what it was, but no real surprises there.
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely setting
Cons: Room was tired and beds not very comfortable
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: no
Cons: out dated room looked like the furniture cane out a second hand shop had to repair the light in the bathroom my self they sent a waiter to do it waited over 2 hrs for my room past check in time
7.1 Good
Pros: Lovely hotel with nice facilities.
Cons: The weekend we were there, there was party nights on both Friday and Saturday nights, we were only informed 2 days before and were told that there would be no dining facilities on Friday evening, what we should have been told was 'vacate the hotel after 18.00 you will not be welcome ' no provision for any guest unless you are at the party! Ask when booking, if there is a party night on, use the premier Inn down the road!
6.0 Good
Pros: It was quiet, the grounds were kept in fantastic condition. The staff were amazing, really friendly, very helpful. The breakfast was excellent with a great choice.
Cons: We had a castle room, right at the top. The room was pretty tiny, considering I'd booked a premium double ensuite. There was rain leaking in through the bathroom ceiling. Now I understand a 700 year old building takes a lot of looking after but the whole room just looked tired. The large double bed was a bit short, I'm just over 6 foot but my get were hanging off the end. The whole place looked like it could do with a complete make over.

Pros: staff very friendly and helpful nothing was ever a hassle
5.4 Okay
Pros: Used by my employer for location and therefore expected good stay as facilities were well spoken of
Cons: Restaurant service was appalling worst I have come across in, blond haired waitress left us standing for at least ten minutes before even making eye contact and even at the end of the meal gave us the bill then walked away to clatter plates setting up tables. Food was reasonable at dinner, thou £5 for undercooked side dish of 8 carrot slices ridiculous! Breakfast in room was forgotten had to call then got burnt toast, no cup for the tea and pale undercooked breakfast.

2.5 Mediocre
Cons: Came back to my unclean room and caught someone trying to steal my bag and toilets where dirty
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location was good, easily accessible.
Cons: The shared bathroom wasn't very clean and had water all over the floor. Would have been nice to have at least a kettle in the room.
4.0 Okay
Pros: But on the plus-side it felt friendly like a youth hostel. The communal kitchen was exceptionally clean and tidy with more than enough equipment and utensils, pots and pans to cook a family Sunday dinner! The room was very clean but really needs a good refurb/modernisation. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Cons: In desperate need of maintenance to all th woodwork in the room especially around the outside base of the shower/toilet door. The en-suite shower/toilet was so small it felt like a converted cupboard/wardrobe. The wall brackets on the old electric heater were broken causing it to hang loosely on the wall and the thermostat didn't function properly so the room was too hot and then too noisy with th window open. The mattress on the bed felt completely flat with almost no support at all.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed soft & comfy as requested .very clean , rooms close together
Cons: Cooker not working , few cups,

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful and locals friendly. We booked an upstairs room but when we arrived were placed downstairs as a member of my party had a visible disability, very appreciated thank you.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: We were there while working out flat rental and other things as part of moving to the UK from the US. The staff and regulars are fabulous, really friendly, very helpful and informative. The room was cosy and comfortable, and it and the shared bathroom were very clean. The shower drain was a bit slow, but they had a plumber out and it was fixed within a short time of us letting them know. The food is terrific, and excellent value for the money. The haggis pakora and beef pie with mash and veggies were amazing. And if it's not the restaurant's serving time, there's Land & Sky fish & chips, Margo's Bakehouse with a great breakfast and rolls/sandwiches, and a really good 4 In 1 curry/kebab/pizza place all a five minute walk or less away.
Cons: The wifi signal in the rooms is rather sketchy, but signal in the bar and restaurant is good. The staff are very accommodating and were great about us having to sort of set up office at a table for quite some time.
7.9 Good
Pros: Lovely accomodating people - We checked in slightly early so we could spend the day in Edinburgh and return late in the evening. Great train links into Edinburgh - 25 minute fast train at least a couple an hour. The location was right in the centre of Polmont. 2 mins walk to Aldi. Lots of free parking around on street or in a small communal parking lot. Decent size room with a double bed.
Cons: The sheets smelt damp (and felt unclean) and we were unable to find people at the Inn to let them know and ask for them to be changed - This was probably due to the opening hours during the time we stayed. It was a little noisy in that we could hear other guests moving around. The shampoo & shower gel dispenser next by the electric shower in shared bathroom upstairs was empty. There was no available password for the WiFi. There TV channels were unreliable and we were unable to get channels 1-5. Hot breakfast options limited nearby.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Food, drinks, staff.
Cons: Rooms could do with a freshen up.
7.0 Good
Pros: Keys collected from the bar the rooms were accessed from a different part for the building. The room was clean and the shower room was recently updated to a wet standard, Staff very friendly
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean and very adequate
Cons: Stairs
8.0 Excellent
Pros: An enormous room, with a large bed, sofas and room for a dance floor. Food at the restaurant was delicious and the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating.
Cons: Two singles being pushed to make a large double, although this was made well so there wasn’t the awkward gap in the middle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The price was amazing for the size of the room
Cons: Excellent value for money and brilliant atmosphere
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything in our room on the ground floor was well thought through down to the breakfast hamper and bowl of fruit. There's a Tesco store within a 6min walk if you need any other provisions and the property is right in the town centre. It has gated entry to a private free car park and is a 10min walk from the train station. We'd definitely stay here again. The hosts were also lovely and very helpful too.
Cons: Brighter lighting in the bathroom for shaving/putting on make up maybe, but that is really a suggestion rather than a complaint.

Cons: The only down side was that one of our rooms was directly above a very noisy nightclub/late night bar. Thus went on until 2am. The noise couldn’t be heard from the other room. Some advance notice that one of our rooms would be noisy until the early hours would’ve been good especially as we had young children with us.
