9.2 Excellent
Pros: I didn't even heard about this auberge among the Dakar groups... We enjoyed everything, the place, manythings to visit, to see, many walks, birds... the staff was so nice, the food, excellent and many different dishes... the breakfast, perfect. The room is clean, simple, but nice, confortable. Many places to seat, close to the pool, or on different quietfull teraces for rest or reading. The owners are very kind. I recommand
Cons: The noise of the road, but we really forget it as everything is lovely.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is great. They speak French and no English. I'm the opposite. They were very patient and helpful, and I really appreciated that. The room was comfortable. There's a restaurant/bar next to the pool, and it's a good place to relax while having good food.
Cons: There was a minor water leak in the bathroom.

Cons: Nothing comes to mind, really
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Helpful and friendly staff, delicious breakfast, and really nice room. The outdoor seating and pool area was nice to sit in with a lot of shade and plants.
Cons: Not quite as much in (short) walking distance as other parts of Saly, but if you're going to take a taxi anyway that's not that big a deal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best wine list in Senegal. Very good and old wines for a very decent price. Beautiful rooms. Good beds. Very friendly owner who likes to cook. The food is very good. The service is nice. Beautiful garden. A real clos.
Cons: Perhaps not the best place for small children...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had a fantastic time here. Anne was so kind and welcoming to me as a solo traveller. Perfectly relaxing with plenty of tips for excellent things to do and see (or beaches to visit) during the day and delicious food in the evening. Would highly recommend!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was just wonderful! We were welcomed and felt straight away at home! They do everything for your confort! Meals are delicious! And everything is done in respect with environment and local people! Thanks again !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a small family-run hotel enclosed within high walls so that you feel like you've stepped into a little oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of an African town. Anne and Eric are very solicitous and gracious hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Staff are all attentive and friendly, always greeting you with a smile. We had a suite with a private pool - highly recommended! There is a bar / restaurant by the main pool where we had a delicious breakfast each morning (coffee, orange juice, fresh bread, 3 sorts of jam, also eggs or pancake if desired). We also ate in the restaurant most evenings (we stayed 6 nights over New Year's) - food was always good and there was enough choice. All in all, it was a very relaxing stay!
Cons: Nothing really, we had a perfect time. Just be aware that this hotel is not actually on the beach, if that is important to you. For us it was not a problem, as we had a car, but taking a taxi to the beach is also a good option, as it is quite cheap.

4.2 Okay
Pros: The design of the place is beautiful.
Cons: Service was very lacking, rooms were not very comfortable, and the food was TERRIBLE.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good, especially fruits and croissants were excellent. We also liked the coffee and Moroccan mint tee.
Cons: We found the cheese and meat quite dry. The hotel should find another way of presenting them instead of leaving in plain air for all morning.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location near the sea including a beautiful private beach, a large swimming pool, excellent rooms with all accommodation, delicious buffet restaurant and above all so friendly and always smiling staff caring for their guests !
Cons: I can not think of one negative point. This is Africa at its very best.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Check out procedures
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Place and room set up and view
Cons: The house keeping was bad they forget to refill water and bathroom toiletries everyday. Takes toooo much time to bring what is missing. The restaurant was full of insects and flies that is falling in salads and food plates. The inside hall AC in switched on which is hot outside and inside. The TV channels was very poor and low quality signals with no variety of channels at all. The Wi-Fi signal was very poor and speed is baaaaaad. And at the end we pay huge amount of money for this poor service.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The bed was extra confortable. Excellent dises and very Nice staff. Also liked the SPA
Cons: No variety in the breakfast buffet offer and the price for the coffee capsules I Thank they should be free. Rooms need a deeper revamping for some aspects for example repainting the bathroom in general
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A hidden paradise
Cons: Only The staff at breakfast on my second - they kept following me asking me for my room number over and over and over...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was amazing, best i ever had
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was welcoming & helpful & friendly. The room was super clean, loved the water therapy room. Obviously will visit again
Cons: The information book in the room is all in French
6.7 Good
Pros: Thrills: This is our second passage at Rhino after a brief stay earlier this year. The property is very well designed and decorated. Rooms are spacious, cosy and comfortable. The en-suite bathroom is well equipped and big, with a bathtub and a big shower. The gardens are well maintained and the common areas (including the spa) are quite pleasant. We had one lunch that was very good and relatively well priced in comparison with same category hotels. The gym had a nice view and it’s fairly equipped.
Cons: Deceit: In terms of service, everything falls below average with the exception of two waitresses at the restaurant whom had been wonderfully helpful and cordial. The lack of quality of the service to customers clashes with the beauty of this place. The reception does not provide accurate information, the bar tenders are so incredibly slow and disinterested that you have to re-order your drinks several times - even if there were very few customers around. It feels most of them are sleepy and demotivated. The staff is generally kind but definitely not fit for a 5 star hotel. There are several structural issues with the management of the hotel and this stands out very clearly: the swimming pool are rarely cleaned and by the afternoon they are all dirty; part of the spa is not functional (1/2 jacuzzi); breakfast is generous and relatively good but good luck if you plan on having it after 9 as you have to chase waiters to ask for anything (they don’t replenish the self service style buffet).
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly, the spa area was very good and the hotel was a very relaxing place
Cons: When we arrived the room air conditioning was not working so we had to be moved to another room in which then the wifi would not work but it was fixed by that evening

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. 6.7 Good
Pros: The nature, the beach and the property
Cons: Dirty pool water, with varans swimming in it and all kinds of bugs Bad smell in the room all the time Insects in the room
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Bungalow style, direct access to the beach, close to the village.
Cons: The food at the bar could have been better. More local, less European. Bissap and ginger juice has my vote!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed comfortable
Cons: Poor wifi
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, Tidiness - service - food - location with grounds perfectly kept. This is 'go back' place. Other guests were also extremely pleased.
Cons: Access to the room due to deformation of the door was extremely difficult and unable to lock/unlock without having to use excessive force. Small in the scheme of things but a definite nuisance.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location next to the beach. The room was clean and very spacious. They had good security. The staff were very pleasant, friendly and welcoming.
Cons: The wifi did not work half of the time we were there. There were no activities such as sports activities available at the hotel, especially since the hotel was not next to local amenities. The breakfast buffet was very limited.
6.3 Good
Pros: The landscaping was very pretty. Food was good. Staff overall generally nice. Pool was nice.
Cons: One of the servers sexually propositioned me at breakfast. The beach seems to have been washed away. The beds were really hard. Overall, don’t think I’ll go back.
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: During my stay one of the customers was allowed to become so drunk that he started to disturb staff and other guests, till he insulted and aggressed some of us. Our first complaint did not have consequences, at the second go we requested the presence of the director, who calmed down the drunkard, but did not bother to apologize or even to ask us how we were. When we confronted him, he found just natural not to speak to us and the following day he clearly ignored us while greeting other guest and even sitting with them at dinner. A hotel like this should not allow its personnel to sell alcohol to customers beyond a dangerous level, should take measures against those who cause troubles, and should care for and respect the other customers. For me this was my worst experience ever in a hotel, which casts a heavy shadow on everything else. Other point: Royam claims to have a fantastic palm beach: well, it's just a very small reclaimed sand area, which goes lost with high tide.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Exceptionally friendly staff that made us feel welcome from the first moment we arrived. The food was excellent, the view over the ocean from the restaurant lovely, and well placed for those looking for a quiet experience away from the hubbub of Saly.
Cons: The ocean side could use a bit of buffing up, and some of the roof and balustrade are in need of repair. The hotel is a bit on the expensive side, and given that the facilities should be kept up a bit better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really enjoyed every bit of my stay friendly stuff great service breakfast almost on beach then here came the band playing my favorite music on a Saturday night just amazing
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: EVERYTHING else! The pool looking out onto the ocean, which is at the doorstep!, and as a centrepiece of the resort, is FABULOUS! The pricing is very reasonable. Food is tasty. Grounds are manicured. You can pay via credit card.
Cons: Rooms are a bit dated. Kitchen appliances needed - there was no electric kettle, but there was a medium-sized fridge and microwave and a gas stove and all cutlery and crockery.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location, cleanest
Cons: The breakfast.
7.1 Good
Pros: Cleanliness, situation - access to the sea swimming pool
Cons: Food - very small portion and limited variety Extra 2% when paying by card Lack of onsite security by the swimming pool (mainly for kids)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I loved the closeness to the beach. The location is "pied-dans-l'eau" ! They recently installed large bay windows in the dining area facing the sea. The breakfast is a buffet with a large variety of delicious foods: toasts, breads, pastries, fruits, juices, cereals, tea, coffees, crepes, eggs, milk, jams, Nutella, cheese, halal salami ect. They also expanded the pool and added a jacuzzi. The hotel is small but well decorated with a lot of trees and plants outside. It's calm, peaceful and safe. The rooms and common areas were super clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The manager, Isseu, was very present and interacted with the guests. She was attentive to my feedback and I really appreciated it.
Cons: The wifi in common areas was spotty. The lunch and dinner for 8500 cfa per meal per person is not family-friendly in my opinion. I wish they had a menu with different price point instead of a fixed rate. I also had a bad experience with one of the staff at the front desk who told me taxis from the hotel to Saly cost 2500 cfa one way and that he can hook me up with someone to take me there. I trusted him and took the ride. The next day I took a taxi off the street, on my own for 300 cfa per person to Saly. Yes, it was a shared taxi but I could have had the whole taxi for a bit more if I wanted to. Nowhere close to 2500 cfa. I felt that this particular staff member was deceptive and I shared my thoughts with management.
7.5 Good
Cons: B fast, lunch and dinner menu is very limited. Lot of flies..
7.5 Good
Pros: Everything was good at the hotel
Cons: Food service is extremely slow not much variety
7.5 Good
Pros: The room We had right by the pool was nice and big. The pool was clean and charmig
Cons: The hotel is a bit pricy and does not live up to that. The breakfast was poor, some facilitets also poor. The beach outside the hotel is hardly a beach , the water goes up all the way to the hotel most times. Beaches are located both to the right and left. We booked all inclusive but was very unclear what was included, acording to our booking drinks were included but We had to discuss that , the hotel said they had changed that. Only drinkingwater with the food.... If you dont speak french dificult to understand the menue.Even thou the staff realy tried

Pros: We had a nice suite, bathroom was vey nice the pool is huge very nice garden
Cons: No direct access to the beach, you need to leave the hotel to reach it. the beach is small and not very clean. Can be enjoyed only by low tide. Some nice restaurants outside, close to the hotel
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We love the Neptune! It’s our go-to spot to celebrate an anniversary or get away for a beautiful day of relaxation and classy food at a great price! The environment is beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. The Senegalese staff have been here for years and are so hard-working and genuine. In a competitive resort market, we pray for God to bless this place for decades to come. It is simply cozy and pleasant - great for people of all ages, not too crowded. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice room and nice pool
Cons: Breakfast was poor. Cold food.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good. I always enjoy the croissants and making my omelette into a breakfast sandwich. The fruit selection had a nice variety of items. As this is one of my favorite places to go to when I have a little time off, I like the fact that I can rely on the staff to be welcoming and helpful.
Cons: Since I am a somewhat regular visitor, I'd occasionally like a little variety for a breakfast option--perhaps pancakes or French Toast? I guess the French Toast could be done just like the omelettes or there is a way to bake it like a casserole.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Close to the beach and immersed with tropical flowers , The Neptune hôtel is a must visit place if you happen to Saly . The staff are really nice and always available to help .
Cons: The breakfast is not the best , for a five stars hotel they could do must better . But I will come back again Cheers
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The lively and the cleaness of the area
Cons: The jacuzzy wasn’t hot as i expected it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A/C worked wonderfully. Atmosphere was quiet and tranquil--just what I needed. The shrimp cocktail appetizer was the best I have ever had--shrimp was great and was served with avocado, tomatoes, and cantaloupe. All the food was excellently prepared and quite visually appealing. The kitchen and dining room staff are to be commendable on a job well done.
Cons: My only negative thing to say is that the water I had with dinner my first night was not cold. In West Africa in July, cold water is a must!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed, we had a bungalow with 2 rooms and big bathroom. Very clean.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is very charming. Beach front house. The room has a small "kitchenette" and the big terrace if you stay on the top floor. A very lovely and helpful owner: makes you feel at home and relaxed. We would definitely come back there...
Cons: In general, the place is excellent. No major dislikes. The only thing which could be improved is wifi. The signal wasn't strong (it tend to disappear) on the top floor.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place with great owner who was willing to help with everything. Location was exactly at the beach!
7.5 Good
Pros: Very nice place, it’s quit and comfortable with a magnificent sea view. I highly recommend!

Cons: Friendly staff, good food, clean rooms, very relaxing. We even extended our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had an absolute pleasant stay at Keur Marrakis. The staff was amazingly polite and attentive despite my poor French. The location cannot be better, loved every breakfast with the ocean view, sleep at the sound of the waves on the shore, chilling at the pool and enjoying the delicious food they cook!
Cons: The bed mattress could be better but all in all, I cannot complain about anything at all.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: terrace's view on the ocean restaurant staff
Cons: little swimming pool (but it properly works!)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The best sunset I've ever seen! The location of the hotel is superb. The food was good, the swimming pool was perfect to relax. The highlight though was the staff. I forgot my passport at the hotel and only found it out a few hours before I had to leave the country. I called and Pape immediately helped me, driving to the airport in his own car to drop my passport before I had to take my flight. So kind and attentive! I was about to miss my flight and he saved me! I definitely want to come back!
Cons: The beach is very dirty, but that's not something the hotel can change! As far as I am concerned, everything the hotel staff could've done to make me feel comfortable was done! They were amazing!
6.7 Good
Pros: Staff is great
Cons: The beach in front of the hotel is very dirty. You do not want to swim there. You have to go far away to get a sea swim.
7.0 Good
Pros: A calm place with a beutiful view. The food at the restaurant is amazing.

5.0 Okay
Cons: The food need to be monitored , staff took time to make our order
7.0 Good
Pros: Quietness and the food
Cons: The tv channels
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice beach, great pool, beautiful garden, wide selection during meal times.
Cons: Although the hotel was half empty, I got a house very far from the central (pool and restaurant) area and the beach. Local guys never leave you alone on the beach (which becomes a bit irritating after a while, however the same happens when you go out to the village).
7.1 Good
Pros: nice location friendly staff the food was good
Cons: the room was noisy the view was bad and there was some heavy machine or something behind me that made a lot of noise in the morning the locals around are friendly but will try to sell you anything and at very high prices so need to be aware
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The beach was very nice! The free bar was nice and had such a beautiful view ! The room We changed to was New and good, standardrooms are simple. The staff was helpful and nice. The pool big
Cons: The food was ok, but nothing special. The music was at times realy desturbing and to loud!
6.0 Good
Pros: Patios
Cons: No English staff
5.0 Okay
Pros: The general location is nice and they serve great lunches and dinner. The dinner we had on Friday night was exceptional. I would recommend eating there to anyone. There is also so much activity to do for those who are sporty. The sea view is lovely from the shore and the restaurant is close to the beach.
Cons: Room decor and paint are "tired" - Time to update folks! Too much trashy stuff just laying about. For example, there was a pile of old stuff just outside my door. - Clean up the grounds! The entire second floor above the restaurant has been left in disrepair and can no longer be used. In Room 220, the door to the shower room cannot be closed from outside because the door handle is badly bent. - Repair the broken down items. Although free water kayaking is advertised as available, the 5 kayaks all leak, causing a safety hazard. I could have lost my pastor! There was only one ping pong ball, and when another guest broke it, there was no ping pong available after that. The parking area is too far from the reception desk and there were too few signs to help us find it. The air conditioner in our room was not working. We asked the reception desk to fix it and they said they would, but it took more than 24 hours for the technician to arrive, and by then we were getting ready to check out. Staff were helpful only if asked to do something. There was little by way of offers to assist us or to somehow ensure our stay would be pleasant. During our 2-night stay, no one came to clean the room. My friend had the same problem, so he chose to clean the room himself. - That should NEVER happen with rates as high as Royal Saly charged us! There seemed to be an absence of staff members who have the "I'm at your service" attitude one you need if you want to see guests happy and have them return again and again. Breakfasts were not done with flair or variety of menu that the lunches and suppers were and the table cloths did not seem to get changed after meals. They all looked badly soiled when we turned up for breakfast the last day. Lastly, the baby swimming pool did not seem to have been cleaned for a while and the baby crib was not portable enough for mobility. You have a great place - sort it out Royal Saly. Don't ride on your past glory.

Pros: The bed was very comfortable and big enough for one person. The services rendered by all staff was beyond my expectations. I enjoyed the pancakes freshly prepared. The set up of the lounge and outdoor furniture was so amazing.
Cons: I suggest that the reception/reservations be manned by somebody bi-lingual, i.e. French and English. Not all visitors are Francophone. There was a breakdown of communication when I wanted to explain to the receptionist that the room I was given at first was too big and that the second was not ideal.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was nice and clean, and the situation in front of the ocean was just perfect. Lots of impressive works ongoing and conducted by the State to regain the beach and limit the impact of the elevation of the ocean. Hopefully, soon it will be possible to walk again all along the beach.

7.9 Good
Pros: Large room, large bed, pool. Collection from airport.
Cons: A little noisy from outside.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: La Hacienda is located in the center of the downtown area of Saly which results in easy access to banks and restaurants. The downside of the central location is the sounds from the outside world that filter in, particularly at night. On the other hand, those sounds would be there unless you stay far from the center. This usually happens only late at night and is not terrible if you wear earplugs. I enjoyed my stay there: the wifi was very reliable, the beds were firm, the room was spacious and kept clean by a good staff, there is a pool if you wish to swim, and everyone was friendly. For the money, this was a good stay. I would return.

Very clean.
