Pros: Location was great. Food was great.
Cons: Stairs were a little too steep for older folks.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Love the location and excellent dinner menu with fresh fish and beef. Breakfast was good as well. Will definitely stay again
9.6 Excellent
Pros: excellent location, very good and friendly staff, very nice dinner and breakfast, comfy and big room. We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday, and it had been a perfect stay! Recommend this to anyone visiting the area, and will come again!
Cons: nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staffs.
Cons: Room is clean but old. Probably need refurnish or renovation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Took us a while to find the Ryokan, it’s right on the front of the water opposite the ferry boat, couldn’t be a better location, wonderful views from our bedroom and soon got use to not having a shower in our room, the showers and onsen baths are just perfect.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owners were gracious and welcoming. They knew enough English to supplement my primitive Japanese and were always helpful in recommending places to see and things to do. The inn is older, but well maintained and meticulously clean. It is in a great location, a short walk from the areas main attraction, the 3.6 kilometer sandbar known as Amanohachidate, the "bridge to heaven." It is just a short bus ride to the charming fishing village of Ine. The backdrop of this great area is the beautiful bay and Sea of Japan. Finally, we had just one dinner at the Inn during our three days at Shinpuro, but it was memorable and one of the great meals we have eaten during our 2 years living in Japan.
Cons: There was nothing about Shinpuro not to like.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Paid for private onset, perfect! Clean and the size of the bath room is good
Cons: Nth

5.0 Okay
Pros: we had done walking on the sandbar and saw the sandbar from the view point on the mountain already. Seeing the sandbar from the room is great but it was not worth for the room rate.
Cons: A lot of food but mostly were not hot food, not fresh prepare, taste was so so. Hotel is old . Bathroom is smelly and look not nice. We stayed on weekday November , we paid mre than 180,000 ¥ for 2 japanese std. rooms with breakfast and dinner. Manything could not campare to the money we paid.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amanohashidate is known for it's amazing view and the rooms and baths at Genmyoan are the perfect place to take it in. The whole facility has been so well thought through - from the linens, to the food, to the plates that it is served on. Wonderful hospitality from the whole team and the courtesy shuttle makes it very easy to get out and explore and get back up to the ryokan. Highly recommend!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed the fantastic view, the kaiseki & the very traditional Japanese hospitality! We appreciate the family for our sweet memory of Japan! Best ryokan we ever stayed! Will recommend to our friends!
Cons: Non
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The hotel is very pretty in the traditional Japanese way, with delicate vases and flowers in every corner. Despite its long history, the premises are very well maintained and spotless clean. The staff are very helpful and attentive, and manage simple English. The view of the hotel is spectacular. The amanohashidate can be perfectly viewed from our room and it's awesome. The breakfast and dinner are delicious with local produce. Although the hotel is located mid hill, they offer very good shuttle services to and from the station. The hotel has a little cafe near the station too, also of very high quality. In all, I highly recommend this hotel.
Cons: Nothing at all
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It is expensive but all worth it
Cons: Everithing! This is the perfect place to go. Lobbies are perfect public baths with view stunning, rooms incredibly well thought, breakfast and dinner amazing. The service is unsurpasaable

Pros: Hotel is close to Ama no Hashidate. We stayed here during the typhoon nr. 15. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel baths were much nicer than expected. Very large, and with a nice outside area. We did not have any meals in this hotel.
Cons: Soundproofing could be better: We could hear our nextdoor neighbours talking and laughing in their room. The hotel looked half empty so maybe they should spread the tourists a bit more across the building.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff are so helpful though they're unable to speak English. Room is very big and clean.
Cons: Hotel staff cannot speak English but they give you a paper written in English about the hotel descriptions.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff if friendly and there is a new manager from Kyoto that wants to make positive changes. I say give him six months to a year to face lift this place (if the owner cooperates and spends some money on upgrades).
Cons: The building has potential but is outdated 1980s and the room they serve dinner in is horrible—like a conference room in a motel 6! Charging $250 for a crab dinner for 2 in this room is way over charging. The photo is of the “dinning room”.

Pros: location is good , room is spacious , price is a little bit expensive but if compared to other places it is ok.

Pros: Location is near station. Staffs are very kind.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast , dinner , location , service , onsen
5.8 Okay
Pros: The Japanese hot bath and the massage chair
Cons: When we paid, the hotel added a 600 yen tax for the use of the hot bath which is not advertised on their site and as everyone speaks little to no English, it is very difficult to actually to understand each other unless you speak Japanese.
