Best staffs for all my travels. I leaved my jacket in the room. However, they send it to other city by train. And they have good chef, too. And the night window view is best. So melancholy and romantic.
Hotel is very nice , close to open sea arround 20-30 km but the contidtion in Sycylia is the best . I think You need to think about staying in this hotel . Nice shower , nice bed , clean
Clean, new, luxuries, and design Location besides the train station is not perfect, but there is no train traffic.
rooms design, helpful staff
Exquisite design. Quiet place but in the centre of the city - comfortable feeling at night especially after busy and noisy day. Cheerful, attentive and friendly personnel. Not great choice for breakfast - I missed usual vegetables, sausages, bacon, omelet.
Very nice hotel, perfect details, elegant decorations. The staff is very kindly
Staff were excellent, hotel was comfortable and all in all our stay was a very pleasant experience
Great view of old town Ragusa Ibra and mountains from the hotel windows! The hotel's American staff, Tony, was the great help for us as he speaks perfect English/Italian to solve our problems. The restaurant Locanda Don Seravino, which is about 10 min. walk from the hotel, was great, too! It is extremely hard to find the exact location of the hotel for us, the first-time visitor to the old city.
In-room guest facilities. Shower didn't appear to have been cleaned. Awkward room situation up a steep & narrow flight of flagstone stairs. Inconvenient hotel location for car access.
it is very stylishly decorated and an interesting old building with loads of character. The owner is extremely helpful and friendly. the parking is a bit of a problem because it's an old town with narrow streets, but there are a couple of spaces by the hotel and the owner does everything in his power to help!
Gianluc, the cheery owner, was extremely helpful and delightful. Our room which had a loft setup for the large, comfortable bed, was very spacious, though it could have used better reading lights. The dinners were very good. The common areas were very conducive to conversation with other guests, something we really enjoyed in this hospitable atmosphere. It was very hard to find, but once we got there, it was great. The breakfasts could have been a bit better organized and plentiful.
very special and typical but poor situation in a narrow street
the location of the hotel and the impression at the reception very beautiful. Breakfeast very good with home made cakes the room was a bit small, difficult to go to the safe box because of the table against the wardrobe. The nosie of the reception specailly in the morning. Receptionists speaking loud very early and because we were in room N03 just above the reception it was quite unpleasant. It would be great for some of the staf to speak a bit more of english for an hotel of this category (we are french).
Bed comfortable, staff nice Trouble with hot water both night of stay and in the morning, difficulty to get to, room very small, air conditioning not working well (had to open windows so husband got mosquite bites), steep stairway to get up to room (although there was an alternate for easier exit to leave), poor lighting to read by.
The hotel was very comfortable and the building itself is very interesting and historic. The staff were helpful and we enjoyed our stay. The reviews I had read about the hotel before going there really talked up the fact that it was a historic building and the rooms would reflect this. Our room was actually very normal and I felt disappointed by the lack of character.
The stone interior was very nice, we liked that aspect the most. The woman who checked us in wasn't the friendliest and took her time with our passports which we didn't appreciate her hanging onto our legal documents for 4 hours or so.
hotel is in downtown, 20 min walk from bus terminal, clean and coisy room, family environment, very helpful people, made enquiry for me as to bus schedule. i got my breakfast in the bed.. thanks a lot. rooms are very close to one another and when a guest arrives late at night, one can hear talking and walking up staircase and opening/closing doors.
Well situated. Staff very competent and friendly. It was one of the best hotels that we were in Sicily. The price was excellent. They have their own parking (very usuful in Ragusa).
Attentive and friendly service
friendly staff, convenient parking garage
Helpful receptionist. The hotel is furnished to a good standard and rooms are spacious, clean, and reasonably comfortable. English channel TV. It is not too difficult to walk to, and around, the old town from the hotel. Although car parking was secure the 8Euro fee was not appreciated.
The meals (breakfast and dinner) were very good. Very pleasant room (good idea to have a coffee machine too).
Great location - in the shopping area, near old town. Very helpful staff. Nice modern and comftortable rooms. Garage in the basement was also very convenient.
the hotel was ok to find, and parking in the garage under the building was great well worth the 8 euro. We walked to the old quarter (Ilba) very pleasant but lots of steps then caught the bus back to hotel. only down side not many nice restaurants close by so on 1st night we ate at the hotel and it was the worst meal we have had and slow service.Staff very nice, friendly and helpful Hotel restaurant food for dinner was not vey nice
rooms were large and beds very comfortable. restaurant food was poor. breakfast was fair
Very friendly staff and very close to the old section of Ragusa. Hotel Car Park just under hotel as well. Were able to have toast which is a rare thing in Italy.
Its location was in the centre of ragusa. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was ok. The room design was a bit eighties, staying in the room was a bit like being in a Duran Duran video, but the comfort was fine. Also there was no access to the internet if you didnt have a laptop with you.
Treated like royalty at this splendid, but intimate and charming hotel. This is the best overall hotel we have ever enjoyed,. The staff could not have been more courteous. You must dine in the hotel's lavishly decorated dining rooms. You will be specially cared for.
Both the location (across the beautiful church) and the interior are superb. The staff is very kind and helpful. A real quiet place to relax. Without a car, the hotel is a little far away from the dining area of the town. Although the quality of the breakfast is superb, I expect more than an American breakfast in a 5 stars hotel.
Good location. Convenient parking. Bad airco.
Very nice hotel in one of the most beautiful city of Sicily. The staff is very kind and the whole atmosphere of this little hotel is really relaxing also thanks to the wonderful restoration of the original structure of the building. Great breakfast. Just a little advice: at the moment of our visit the restaurant of the hotel is not operating.
great boutiqe hotel with a perfect breakfast
Style, ambience, location, peaceful even though it was right in the centre, warm efficient staff. Superb breakfast.
Beautiful facility in an interesting town with an amazing breakfast buffet
A beautiful design hotel located in the centre of the lovely original baroc town of Scicli. The hotel staff really helped with all kinds of info, with free parking on the street by the hotel and an excellent Italian breakfast. Ask the staff for directions to the nearby pizzeria "Pura follia" as it's fantastic and the pizzeria right across from the hotel is not that special. The room was a bit small and the bed not that big and we had superior double room.
This is easily one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The rooms are to a very high standard and the staff are the best I have ever seen, especially for a small hotel like this (9 rooms). They were extremely helpful in pointing us to the nicest restaurants and making sure we were comfortable throughout. When we needed to plan day trips they helped us with directions to ensure our journey went well. Breakfast is also another plus point as the staff can cater to every need. Overall, I would 100% stay here again should I be in South Sicily, it is a great base for exploring.
If you are planning a trip to Sicily, do you yourself a favor and include Hotel Novecento in your itinerary! This charming, beautifully restored boutique hotel is perfectly located in the gorgeous village of Scicli and is also an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area. We stayed three nights and enjoyed every minute, thanks to the warm and gracious hospitality of the entire staff, including the lovely owner, Donatella. All went out of their way to provide us with great recommendations and to ensure a special and memorable stay.
We loved everything about this hotel. From the moment you walked in, you are taken care of and it feels like they are there only for you. The interior design is amazing for such a small hotel in a very small town-beautiful frescos on the ceiling of our room, modern decor, fabulous food. We stayed two nights and could easily have stayed longer.
A clean and tastefully furnished room. The bathroom very clean and roomy, the central location, and the very friendly and accomodating staff.
The hotel and the staff exude class. A magic place to stay in a magic city and region of Sicily.
This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Lovely building, beautifully furnished, outstanding customer care, choice of 2 excellent restaurants. They really make you feel wanted and in my view is incredible value for money. Nothing
The owners were very unfriendly and watched every move you made like you were thieves. Poor location. Far away from lower Modica . Not at all handicap friendly.
Very friendly and competent staff. We were given an upgrade in the annex and liked the room bery much indeed. The food in the restaurant in the annex was superb. Highly recommended
the staff was incredible helpful, the best of all our trip!!!!!
beatifull except attic rooms.very good breakfast and location Modica Alta. Attic rooms not so good than the others, but there are moderate.
As luxurious as any Four Seasons, Park Hyatt or the Ritz Carlton in London but at a astonishingly low price (80 euros/night in August). The staff, the real distinguishing factor between a 4 and 5 star hotel, were more helpful than anyone could hope for. La Gazza Ladra was one of the most creative restaurants I have been to in italy and deserves its michelin star. Just know that the hotel is in the western part of town up the hill, so you definitely need a car or to get in early enough to get a taxi. That said, Patricia worked a miracle for me and got one of the La Gazza Ladra waiters to pick me up late at night.
Everything about the hotel was enjoyable: a beautiful old villa, welcoming and efficient staff and an equisite reataurant. If only there were more hotels like this!
Comfortable, very tidy, formal hotel. Very good choice for the price we paid. As advertised. The free wifi internet login system might be simpler, but this is just a minor detail.
Very comfortable bedroom and bathroom, good breakfast. Reception area is comfortable and stylish. The hotel is in town but only just, there isn't a bus service to the centre of town and the train is about 2 miles. Nice hotel but the surrounding unfinished blocks spoil the view somewhat.
Excellent value as a base, on outskirts of city, for touring south east Sicily. Modern hotel with clean and spacious room and en suite, good reception facilities and pleasant dining room. Extensive buffet breakfast and four course dinner menu was very enjoyable and great value.
The hotel was run in a wholly professional manner; staff was well-trained, well-informed, courteous and helpful. The facilities were modern and well-maintained. Underground garage was poorly designed; difficult to maneuver even small vehicles into and out of spaces. Also, the hotel was almost impossible to find. GPS/navigatore systems have not yet registered the official address (the hotel is fairly new), and the swirling coils of local roads (all unnamed) makes the hotel almost impossible to locate, especially at night
None ! Booking changed by hotel at last minute due to refurbishment of hotel Del Lauro !! Put in sister hotel in inferior room. Were moved again 2nd day to Del Lauro - room not cleaned properly/damp and only people in hotel. So appalled that we moved after the second day - at great expense to ourselves and found alternative hotel in Taormina. Ragusa is industrial zone of Sicily and definately not for tourists. All cafes close at 8pm and as Del Lauro has no bar or restaurant it is extremely difficult to eat or spend any leisure time.
It is a beautiful and clean place. The stuff is very nice. Parking is usually available. The place is perfect to couples. The hotel is not very good for families with young children - there is no elevator, no bath (only shower) and the swimming pool is too cold.
Francesca was a very good and helpful host. Our room was beautiful with good view of Ragusa Ibla. At the time we were staying, several rooms were undergoing renovation. We unfortunately were not informed by it and were woken up very early each morning. But despite that, the hotel made our stay in Ragusa wonderful.
The staff were charming and so helpful. The hotel was beautifully designed and very comfortable. It was a pity that there were plastic glasses for the juice at breakfast. Be careful not to get a room with no daylight
Very nice hotel with excellent location for visits and yet a beautiful graden and swimming pool creating a distance from the city. Very nice and helpful staff. Ragusa is a beautiful city with a lot to visit and yet nearby the seaside, which is also convenient. We enjoyed our stay very much. The breakfast, which was offered in a beautiful ancient ball room of the hotel, was only available until 9h30m, which is a bit early when one is on holiday and don't want to rush out fist thing in the morning.
Beautiful room in a nice building with a nice interior, charming breakfast room. Despite a nice garden and an attractive swimming pool, the swimming pool was swarmed with pigeons that defaeceted in it...
Villa Del Lauro is an absolute oasis and well worth staying at if you're visiting Ragusa. We stayed for a few nights in July and practically had the place and the lovely garden to ourselves. Staff were very friendly and helpful with all our requests. Rooms are large, modern and really nice. The whole place is spectacular, much better than the pictures on the website. Go to the hotels own website!
Very pleasantly surprised by the spacious ambience, all comforts included. Excellently situated as a base for exploring nearby Ragusa, Modica, and the seaside town of Marina di Ragusa. The bar prices were rather high - especially in the case of beer, and spirits. One point to bring up re the fabulous pool - there is no handrail by the steps, and the circular steps going down are very difficult to make out, this in view of the fact that we were accompanied by our elderly parents!
The buffet breakfast was absolutely awesome with a very large selection of fresh pastries, and with specialities changing each morning. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, and the structure is very pleasant. Wifi connection rate is a bit too expensive and swimming pool is only available till 18:30, but nothing preventing me to return to that hotel again
We were able to have our cats join us in the room. Only the fact that there was no mini bar with water, juices and beer.
Room was great, good restaurant and fantastic views overlooking the valley of the temples. Free parking. Standard of English could have been a bit better, and lots of stairs/steps, so not easy if you have a suitcase with wheels. Not easy to find either.
Central location for visiting this part of sicily, very friendly staff, most quite and relaxing surroundings no
Clean, friendly and helpful staff Empty - no other guests so was soulless, location in middle of nowhere wasn't made clear
Calm place even if the first impression is not the best ,very helpful staff in restaurant-52 different botlles from Sicilly .Generally - good and light kitchen.Nice place The door are not enough soundproof
Breakfast was great!
Very modern hotel. Great room. Great swimming pool.
Comfortable and clean hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic pool. A bit noisy at nighttime.
the lack of bilingual staff. very poor english, french or other languages.
helpful staff single rooms crammed onto the top floor, hardly any natural light
staff efficiency and politeness a more varied breakfast would be appreciated
We found the hotel situated in a very good spot, on the main drag and convenient to restaurants in Ragusa and a pleasant walk down to the steps to descend to the old town of Ragusa Ibla. No all was good and the people were very friendly
Super modern hotel. I liked the breakfast served in our room, on a sunny terrace.
breakfast was nice - bathroom/furniture is nice - pool area is nice too. it was maybe abit too quiet however very relaxing on the other hand.
Excellent breakfasts with wide range of choice; lovely staff; very comfortable bed; nice swimming pool Location - seafacing but no sea view; no beach immediate beach access; noisy location due to adjacent fun fair and Friday disco; limited restaurant menu
location, walking distance to beach and center they were under constructin and we had terrible noice as of 7.00 AM
Convenient location. Great service, clean and comfortable rooms, The breakfast included had a wide selection to choose from. Would definitely stay there again
Friendly staff, modern, comfortable rooms and great location. The bar was closed in the evening which was disappointing
The beach is very close to the hotel. 5 minutes by foot I didn't like the Reception. I think they should improve the Reception.
Very modern and functional design. Guest rooms and en-suite of a very high standard.
The room and location where fine, close to the beach and away from Ragusa We could not ge any wireless connection whether in the room or at reception. The computer was showing that it had connected to the hotels wireless system but it could not get an internet connection. After 6 weeks in Europe this is the first hotel this has happed at and the hotel staff, while attempting to help, could not fix the problem.
Excellent service, beautiful location and prime location only 1 english speaker and impossible to find from the directions
This is really one of the best stays in Sicily. Perfect. The staff is very helpful and warm-welcoming.
Beautiful villa with swimming pool, helpful & friendly staff, nice restaurant Shower not hot. Tea and coffee at breakfast not hot. For 4 star hotel, breakfast could be better. Close to industrial area.
The parking facility is nice although it is quite impossible to locate the hotel as it is not central to Modica but is located on the outer border of Modica. The hotel is located at the border of Modica: if you have a car then it does not matter but if not then you have a problem. I had to unplug the so-called mini-fridge because of the unbearable noise it was causing. Rooms could have been cleaner. The breakfast room was too close to the rooms (you could hear all the noises). The pictures are deceiving as the hotel is close to a industry area.
Poor location. It is simply too far and inconvenient to find.
