The staff was lovely and very helpful regarding good places to eat and what was around the area I wish there was a t.v. in the room
Good location and very comfortable. Nice to be in an not so busy area. We had problems with the link that you gave to the hotel and ended up 30 km out of our way which lost us over an hour to eventually check in.
Friendly helpful staff. Accommodation is ideally suited For those people that would enjoy old mannor houses and character type accommodation. The breakfast was fantastic. Internet wi-fi was very slow at night.
lovely setting and comfortable room, good breakfast. location was not exactly convenient and bedding was a little too small for the bed
This is a perfect hotel to stay at in Tomar. Walking distance to monastary is easy but up. A gorgeous setting on the river. Room was exceptionaly clean but simple. Great customer service Breakfast was good but simple.
The breakfast is excellent. The decorations are typical of Portuguese style. The roms are spacious. There is no tissue and no hair dryer in the room. The bed is too soft.
We enjoyed the location and the surrounding countryside and the decor of the individual rooms. The breakfast was excellent.
Excelent location, good breakfast, wifi access
Friendliness of the staff and excelent location. The queen-size bed was actually a double bed. My wife and I didn't sleep very comfortably.
The location is good just outside the city walls with views over the town. The room was big and comfortable, everything was clean and convenient.
It was quiet, it was also close to Obidos, there was parking available outside the hotel. The bath was miniture size, the rooms were very oldy world Portuguese style which may not suit all.
Very convenient for visiting Obidos.
The price for the hotel considering its proximity to Obidos was very good. No
We were very happy with our stay at this hotel. It was extremely well located, just outside the city gates. The room was clean and spacious, staff were pleasant and the breakfast reasonable. The decor is a little dated but in good condition. We had trouble parking at the hotel, but there was a lot of parking on the street.
location old furniture
Location to Obidos was the best. Walking to all attractions. Parking available. The beds are hard, real hard. They need to upgrade the showers.
location breakfast, the rooms are not these show on the pictures and are basic
The accomodation was first class. Luxury townhouse for the price of a standard hotel room. Being a new resort, facilities are currently very limited.
Stunning concept. Fantastic interior design. Very nice staff. Great golf course. The site is not ready for guests. Restaurant is a canteen. Construction of all the main parts is ongoing. Noise and dirt all over. We decided to move elsewhere, because the atmosphere felt like a mix of Westworld meets teenage horror movie.
Finest contemporary architectural style, Superior and exceptionally equiped. (1) I convinced a friend to also make a reservation and the next day he got a better rate (2) Bicycle Rental was publicized in the web site but not availabel. (3) Gardens are not ready yet and therefore you have no privacy.
The kitchen facilitys were excellent, the bathroom was super, My wife especially liked the beds comfort. The entertainment facilitys were very good, especially the TV. The resteraunt was first class.
Beautiful hotel. Decoration and staff friendliness are best in class. Restaurant is very good though a bit expensive. Parking is not very convenient and bed mattress should be changed as soon as possible. Apparently we were not the first ones to complain about the mattress which probably dates from the past century!
hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. rooms were clean, well kept, and beautifully decorated. we stayed in December. although the rooms have airconditioner, it was a bit chilly at night.... maybe because of its historic building and its stone floor. I would definitely recommend you to stay in Obidos in warmer season.
The friendly staff, their flexibility, the great service: good kitchen and an excellent breakfast The difficulty to reach the hotel by car. It should be better explained that there are huge parking limitations
The staff was incredible-so helpful to us with parking, facility orientation, directions, area attractions, etc. The atmosphere was beyond gorgeous! It was all quaint & luxurious at the same time. Only the lack of channel availability on the TV. Not an issue really.
The hotel staff were all very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was excellent. The situation of the hotel made parking difficult - we were not aware how narrow the streets were!
Staff excellent. Pricey, but if you don't want butter wrapped in silver foil or marmalade in plastic pots with rip-off lids - it's worth it. Recommend breakfast on your balcony - bliss. Warning!! Camels/needles - cars/Obidos.
the location within the walls of an historic town; the friendly, competent staff, the attractive room and grounds no
Great place on main tourist street. Fantastic town. Shampoo came in foil packages rather than in bottles.
Perfect location to visit Obidos
delightful place to stay. wonderful service and facilities. a bit pricey.
Nice hotel which is well run by a pleasant staff. Rooms are appointed with traditional furnishings and cleanliness is impeccable. No negative comments
The location was super - right in the center ofd the ol the old town, couldn't be better Air conditioning was very necessary and very loud, and cooled poorly. Impossible to sleep with it. Open windows and you get flies. Big spider in room, really, really big!! and is still there... Loud people in the hallways at night - hotel didn't do anything to respond. Toilet went out two days in a row - they couldn't get it to stay fixed. We were there three days toilet out two - you do the figuring on comfort. Also wear your shoes in the room - carpets are filthy. One fairly new bed and one very old sway back.
Location, cute interior
nice location, friendly staff, clean and cosy room in a fascinating style. unfortunately the iron was unavailable
Attentive staff, Ruy especially. The location is superb. The bed was very hard which suited us and the breakfast was good. Empty mini refrigerator was useful. Tiled bathroom was kept clean. The view of the castle walls from Room 206 was beautiful. We arrived by taxi from Caldas da Rainha and were deposited at the door by a driver skilled at negotiating the narrow streets. We left by bus from just outside the Porta da Vila and had no problem with that. Our room opened to the main street which can be noisy with tourist foot traffic. This did not bother us. The windows are not screened so flies in the room can be a problem.
The location inside the city walls was perfect. We parked outside the city walls...we're American and unable to navigate those narrow streets.
Nice staff who gave good advice on the local attractions
The proprietor and the rest of the staff are wonderful. When they saw on my passport that it was my birthday, they offered me a drink of the local brandy and put a plate of fruit in my room. The proprietor took the time to give me a tour of the house and answer my questions about Portuguese literature. My room was beautifully decorated, quiet, and very reasonably priced. Not a criticism, but if one arrives by bus, the hotel (or more accurately B & B) is a 5-10 minute walk down the main, cobblestoned (but pedestrian-only) street. So travel light and wear sturdy shoes.
The house is picturesque, clean and well kept, and very close to the castle. The landlady was helpful suggested some nice restaurants. Breakfast was good. We were lucky to find a parking spot very close to the entrance; parking *might* be a problem.
This is a good olde world B&B, same character as the town Obidos, narrow streets galore.
The hotel is very charming and in a wonderful location. The staff is very helpful. The layout of the bathroom is very awkward.
This is a beautiful, traditional Portuguese house. The rooms are small but very interesting and quirky. This is not the place to stay if you like the Hilton, room service and a bar fridge. But if you appreciate heritage and character it is.
location, free parking, breakfast medieval theme carried too far
Location was excellent and the choice for breakfast was superb. Also availability of garage for car.
This is a beautiful little hotel, very cosy rooms with a quirky medieval theme. The staff are very helpful and friendly and its in a perfect location only a few meters outside of the castle walls. The pool is lovely to relax by after sightseeing. All in all a lovely hotel and a lovely town to spend a couple of nights in.
Hotel ideally situated for exploring the Silver Coast.
It's a great hotel. Great medieval decoration. Nice and helpful staff. Perfect location! No.
Being in the center of Obidos
Good location, staff helpful, "knight design" silly
Good location, excellent breakfast, helpful staff.
Excellent Continental Breakfast. No English one though...
Enjoyable visit, hotel was somewhat over the top regarding the historical theme however very comfortable, ideal for visiting Obidos and staff were very helpful. They really need more signs on the the road directing you to the hotel
Nice rooms with Marriot standart confort. Bad price quality relation. Room price is too high compared with what is offered. Food is expensive and there are no alternatives near by (Peniche is 20 minutes away). Not even a playroom for children.
Good breakfast. Fantastic sea view and green surrounding the hotel. When we got back to the room after having dinner, we found our bags had been scrambled around and some pieces of clothing were left to the floor. Someone had been messing around our luggage, though nothing was missing. Not a good welcoming treat in any case.
The silence, the ocean... The animation service, the hours for some animation (Ex. spining).
Relaxing ambience, without a lot of people Staff could be a little bit more friendly, some of them don't have experience
Hotel facilities are very good. The staff acts properly for a 5* hotel. For a 5* hotel the breakfast buffet could be better
The rooms were beautiful and clean, the beach was excellent. It was very close to Lisbon and surrounding points of interest. Also great if you're a golfer. Hotel staff, particularly the outdoor bar near the pool. Only one staff member was working this area, and with only a handful of customers, it was painfully slow to get a drink (ie 20 minutes and then only with a reminder). No apologies and no welcoming atmosphere. It was just like Trip Advisor comments we read prior to booking......
We booked this hotel for a luxury stay (expected from a 5 star rated hotel) but were very disappointed: bathroom was not clean, dinner-buffet was awfull (no choice, cold, too expensive), old-fashioned pool-chairs with dirty pillows, ... Totally not worth 5 stars!! Stain on fame of Marriott!!
comfortable rooms, central areas and fitness/indoor swimming pool.Helpful stafflocation next to beautiful coastline poor main courses in set price evening buffet.Poor choice and poor quality - dried out.
Fantastic hotel with good location and sufficient space. I've been very disappointed by the mattress state. Every night;, i have backache due to the too soft and old bedding. It has been reported to the reception but they just added a wooden plate under the mattress instead to replace it ! The breakfast was a little bit confusion as well...
Location and Hotel ambiance and facilities.
good location, nice room and pool, very friendly staff
Very comfortable and the staff very helpful. I'd have no hesitation in going back again (and may possibly be for 3 days in July). I'd also have no hesitation recommending it to family members or friends. The staff were great- very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended. Very narrow gates on the way in? If you have a big car it can be difficult manoevuring. Very little I didn't like about the hotel- it was quite delightful staying there.
Very good, clean, beautiful, well located.
Quiet, clean, spacious, modern facilities with traditional country decor, very close to the charming medieval village of Obidos.
quiet, friendly, excellent location for Obidos visit
The friendliness of the staff, the beauty of the hotel and view. I especially liked the amenities available, including the pool table, the computer available to guests for internet use free, and the pool. The property is more beautiful than the pictures on the internet.
Comfortable room, friendly English-speaking staff, adequate parking. Nice breakfast. Entrance difficult to find. Own transport needed.
The staff were wonderful, friendly & informative. Free internet access was great!
excellent place to relax from city's noise and dust. Swimmingpool, garden.
Breakfast was ok. I didn't like the hotel. It needs renovation. Old and destoyed furniture, uncomfotable bed, paint falling from walls. The room was very humid. Not nice smell of bed clothing. Additionally, the hotel staff asked for payment during check-in.
I found the hotel was in a super position in the shopping area and very convenient to all amenities. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Caldas. Staff were very helpful and friendly at all times.
The elevators were not working, the room was freezing and we had to ask for a heater, the room was not very clean
Broken beds , dificult to find adress and signs , no ventilation at room , last dat breakfast from remains !
Central near bus and rail stations. Not so much a hotel, more a pension
The staff were very friendly and helpful; the hotel is very well located, close to shopping, grocery stores, and the main bus terminal; the room was very quiet and I felt safe staying there The rooms, furnishings, and fixtures are very old and somewhat worn; the wall-mount for the shower was broken; the room was not very clean when I arrived (although it was better on subsequent nights); payment is required upon arrival, and no refunds are given if you need to shorten the length of your stay (so this may not be a good choice for business travelers whose plans may change)
nothing there is no hot water
Great value. Extremely pleasant, helpful staff. Scratchy towels.
I did not like the room. Car park too far away, no value for money.
Freindliness of the staff 1. Water was not always hot 2. Bed was not the most comfortable and creaked when you moved
Comfortable, close to main town centre, excellent breakfast and reasonably priced drinks in bar. The hotel had a small pool area at rear but it was not very inviting.
The staff were friendly. The hotel rooms were cold. Found when in the bedroom you could hear every sound in the corridor etc so very noisey. Breakfast was very poor. And later that day when we asked for a menu we were told the hotel was not serving any type of food all day or night!
The staff at reception speaks English and are friendly. The hotel carpark doubles up as a storage space and is dimly litted. Refurbishment of the room is long overdue. Low water pressure.
Central location, friendly staff, clean rooms. Having stayed at the hotel before I knew what to expect. The food is of low standard, particularly breakfast. At breakfast there was a lack of staff clearing up.
Location and convienience for town centre Poor breakfast, poor choice of evening meal.
Friendliness of the staff Some of the commodities that where advertised where not available at the hotel like the safe at the room, mini bar and sauna.
the proximity to the shopping the air conditioning broke down and a man at the desk said engineers were working to fix it this was not true
Good value for the money, help staff Breakfast, everyday the same thing. The same ham and cheese and bread. No eggs of any type, no hot foods at all. Not much of a selection at all. Good coffee
very helpfull staff. Dinner buffet exelent.Easy to get to center of Lisboa. Hotel in center of town, very easy to find. Rooms nice and clean.
Well located, excellent staff, great breakfast.
Position and terrace
Hotel is a very nice and cute small house next to entrance into the inner walled town of Obidos. Staying there is like living in someone's typical old Portuguese white-washed house, the kind you see in every old Portuguese town.Staff is very friendly and speak good English. I would highly recommend staying there bc of the charming atmosphere which you dont' find in other hotels. The only problems were the ancient bathroom (but in a way that is to be expected), the fact that you can hear your neighbors, and the included breakfast was kind of paltry. The orange juice was not fresh, it was some kind of orange flavored mix, and basically the breakfast consisted of a bunch of white bread (with butter and jam) and a muffin.
Location in relation to the centre of Obidos
Friendly staff, good location, nice view from window, good restaurant around the corner. Small room with small bed. No internet access. Bath room was a bit smelly.
Location was ideal next to the city wall and the building was quaint. Kept waiting with front door locked after check in hours. No staff in breakfast room at scheduled time. Holes in bathroom towels.
breakfast was poor
The hotel was clean, very reasonable, food very good, dinner buffet brilliant.Only downside for us ,lot of painting, power washing outside going on, otherwise great
staff were courteous, buffet breakfast was nice and was topped up continuously, room was clean.on site parking. nice bar area, common areas were great! free wifi although not in the rooms rooms at the end of the hallway suffered from the thumping music of the reception hall/restaurant on the weekend. finding a carspace in the weekend when reception hall is operating is a task.
Large balcone outside Hotel called "International" but only few employees speaking english (also at the reception and at the restaurant) - Sauna to be booked 3 hours in advance and no confort (small room) - Very noisy because of a lot of constructions around the hotel
Please write at least 15 words No complaints
Very modern/design decoration. Staff was friendly, rooms were big, clean and modern. Very good location for those who have a car, near different beaches. No hair dryer, very few channels on satelite tv, pool was shared with party sallon attached to the hotel (not owned by the hotel). Other than that, it was fine for a weekend break.
convenient, inexpensive and clean for an overnight stay.
Hotel was extremely clean! Room was small but comfortable. Free breakfast did not include any hot food but was quite adequate to start off the day. Wi-fi was available for free from the Hotel Lobby, but not from the rooms.
Easy hotel parking (not charged). Reasonable/good gym, though we did not make use of it due to lack of time. Spacious rooms and halls. Poor breakfast (excellent brown bread, though...). Arguable decoration of halls and rooms.
location is great / localização fabulosa!!! breakfast is very poor / pequeno almoço paupérrimo!!!
Reception staff was very responsive and pleasant to deal with. The room was very spacious and clean. Not applicable
The location is fantastic Breakfast is very poor
The hotel is very suitable for people that like to swim or to walk. It is possible to swim in the ocean but also in the more quiet water of the internal lake. From Foz Do Arelho it is easy to visit the castle of Obidos or the town Caldas da Rainha which offers a daily open market market. The hotel offers a free well protected parking space at walking distance from the beach. The internet works fine but is a little bit unhandy because for each access a new (free of charge) password has to be obtained at the reception and the wifi is only located in a limited area of the hotel (partly in the open).
The view from our room across the lagoon was fantastic and the room was big and light. The shower broke during our stay and it was reported by the maid and fixed immediately.
