You cannot beat this hotel for proximity to Volcano Bay! It's literally ouside the back gate of the property. Getting to the other Universal Parks is easy too. There is an almost constant stream of buses from the front of the hotel directly to Universal Walk which is the gateway to the parks. Pros (+) We thought beds were very comfortable. Free Upgrade was great! Theme was fun and details were impressive.
Cons (-) Room furniture needed a little TLC. Nothing that upholstery cleaners couldn’t fix. But all in all very comfortable and spacious! Would definitely recommend and return.

Pros (+) We loved the resort and room decor, cleanliness, friendly staff, fun pool with water slide and lazy river, and the suite was set up perfect for getting ready with three kids (separate shower/toilet/sink and mirror). It was in an excellent location with easy access to the Universal parks. Shuttle was quick and easy. Our teens (18, 17 and 13) LOVED Cabana Bay!

Pros (+) While not the most elegant place to stay it is a great value if you want to stay on Universal property. Early admission and bus transport to park made All the difference in our Harry Potter experience! And the cafeteria had very well prepared food (and large portions) for breakfast/dinner at a reasonable price. Important for us as my husband has to watch diet due to diabetes.

Pros (+) It’s was close to universal
Cons (-) They put us in the wrong room when we asked and paid for a room with a view of Volcano Bay. Then we moved to another room and the TV was broken. We called them several times but the TV remained broken. The place has no proper restaurants. Only a diner/supermarket kids place. We were very dissatisfied

Pros (+) Fun theming especially for baby boomers. I would rate the hotel as slightly above a Disney value resort with the theming, facilities and location/ transportation all just a little better.
Cons (-) The location is not very convient to the parks and transportation was good but like any bus system there was a wait. With such high traffic roads I can see why walking is not a good option. All in all if staying in site again I would make a different choice.
