Excellent 9.0
Pros: Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Very convenient for Blenheim and off street parking was a bonus.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The breakfast was very good and the location was in the centre of Woodstock.
Cons: The heating in the room did not come on until 8am, needed to be 7am.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: I was looking for somewhere central in Woodstock and this was ideal - and the car park was easy to find and very useful. The staff were great, breakfast was very good and the bed very comfortable.
Cons: Shame that the restaurant doesn't do dinner, but hey, this is the low season and there are plenty of others just outside the front door.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I liked how the rooms had character, the bed was large and comfy, they had so many extras in the room, fan and a heater, ironing board and iron, hair dryer, plus free Wifi, a plug next to the bed, very clean.
Cons: Parking is limited, but if your early you shouldn’t have an issue, there was street parking. Floor boards creeky, but it is an old building, so hearing people walking on the floor above but the beauty of the building was in its age and character, so not a complaint.
Excellent 8.5
Pros: The room was spacious and pleasant. The location was great and parking was easy.
Cons: The hosts were busy with paperwork and not very friendly. We were treated respectfully but not kindly.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely room, beautiful old building, delicious breakfast. Perfect for our stay!
Good 7.1
Pros: Comfy bed, good breakfast and good location
Cons: Chose hotel as it offered private parking, but this was full when we arrived, meaning we had to park our car in a public car park overnight. Not great as it was raining hard!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: excellent place worth every penny, easy to find car park, hotel staff absolutely great and smiley, great location, breakfast was amazing but I would not mind them a bit cheaper, definitely coming back in the future. Many thanks.

Good 7.9
Pros: Great location,so many places to see, will be going back
Cons: Double bed was small for 2 Adults
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Central position in middle of Woodstock with free parking close to hotel throughout stay. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent choice and standard of food.
Cons: I booked and paid for a suite (according to details on the website) but had a decent size bedroom instead. Suites were either side but room 33 was NOT a suite.
Good 7.5
Pros: Everything apart from the bed.
Cons: Very large bed but the duvet/cover didn't fit very well & was too heavy/hot for this time of year.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: excellent breakfast with good menu choice and flexibility if requesting things not on the menu. Attractive decor, friendly staff.
Cons: This is an old property with creaky narrow stairs, not suitable for the infirm
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Lovely old building in a great location and really welcoming friendly staff
Cons: Mattress could be better
Good 7.5
Pros: Room was lovely very nice and great little own garden at back.
Cons: Great room and very comfortable however a poor restaurant and poor service I have to say sadly. Waited nearly minutes for a menu, then had a weird shepherd's pie served with chips. Odd choice if food to serve as a special

Excellent 8.3
Pros: Nice and comfortable place , behind the restaurant which gives you some extra privacy and quietness.
Cons: There were lots of alive flies on the window and bathroom . (They do tend to go for warm places in this time of the year . )
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Good breakfast and friendly staff.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The breakfast was very good. Both continental & or Full English are available and included in the room price.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location was set on a main busy road, which we knew, so not part of a village. But it was central for us to get around by car. The breakfast was excellent for choice and amount. The english cooked breakfast was one of the best. The rooms were spacious, clean, quite and ample for our requirements. Shower was over bath and very powerful. Towels, hairdryer, iron, tv and tea/coffee making facilities were all included in room. Room was very quite and was not attached to the pub. Staff were also very friendly and willing
Cons: Location, although we knew it was on a main road, i think we would prefer to stay in a village, where you can go for a walk around at night. But location was good for getting around if you have a car. Also, we went to Oxford for the day and used the Oxford Parkway, that included parking and the train to Oxford, or you can use the park and ride also.
Okay 5.4
Pros: Nice clean room, good tv. Ample parking. Near main road.
Cons: The way the manager talked to me when I told him I did not like the food. I ordered a hotpot (regular price £12.95). What I got was a tiny bowl of stew with sliced boiled potato on top. On the plate were unappetizing green beans and carrots (boiled from frozen?). When I said that this was not hot pot as the potatoes need to be thinly sliced and cooked with the meat I was told that "this is how we do it". I showed him many photos of hot pots on google but he was having none of it and argued and was nasty. I returned it to the kitchen but he told the lady at the till 'she's paying for it!'. The other lady behind the bar was angry with me too as the 'chef' was her son. Very unprofessional, nasty, aggressive and an altogether horrible experience. I was tempted to call the Police because of the way I was treated (single woman alone). Please note: there was no swearing however I have never had such a bad experience in hospitality.
Good 7.0
Pros: friendly staff, relatively fresh breakfast. large room. nice cozy restaurant.
Cons: very basic breakfast. hairs in bathroom, poorly insulated rooms, as cold draft came from front door and could hear the road very well.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Pleasant welcome. Large comfortable bed. Nice breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 8.8
Cons: It was a cold night...and I had to block the bottom of the door to stop the draught. However...a plus was that the heating was good and in the bathroom too..and it was possible to regulate both radiators. Access from the car park onto the pathway was by a curb...difficult with luggage. A ramp would be appreciated.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The food was excellent and the staff are absolutely fantastic. I cannot recommend Sturdys Castle highly enough. The rooms are clean and decently equipped, for the price.
Cons: My bed was a little lacking in firmness for my taste.

Pros: Friendly staff. Lovely location.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Location good, car parking a major problem (at least we were warned!)
Cons: Lack of fresh fruit, why no side plates at breakfast?
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing! The rooms were spacious and the bed comfortable
Cons: The outside steps to the rooms my mum has arthritis and she did find them difficult as they were steep and it wasn't listed on the website so we were unaware of them.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great location with good bus service into Oxford and with an excellent choice of evening eating places very close.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location. Interesting building. Friendly and polite staff.
Cons: Parking was a faff, but manageable and did not affect our stay.
Good 7.0
Pros: The bed pillows need updating.
Cons: The bed pillows need updating. (Room 5)
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Friendly staff . Comfortable quiet room . Great location for Blenheim Palace and places to eat out .
Cons: The only minor thing wrong was the bedside lights not working but it wasn’t a problem we were happy with our room .
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room was superb, the staff very friendly. We arrived later than usual but they still met with us to let us in. The breakfast was delicious and we would definitely go back again. 10/10

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Easy to park ; on a bus route into Oxford
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely spacious rooms. Super large comfortable bed. Great shower. Easy bus journey in to Oxford and bus stop right outside the hotel. Several pubs within walking distance.
Cons: 2 easy chairs would have been nice.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Comfortable beds.
Cons: Overflowing bin at main door, looked awful!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Breakfast was ok, I've had better, just warm & a bit overcooked
Excellent 9.0
Cons: Aircon set too high

Pros: Breakfast except for The coffee
Cons: Small room, tiny bathroom, small pool Long walk to room No Soap in bathroom No minibar in room
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.4
Pros: Great Staff! Great workout room and Sauna!
Good 6.8
Pros: Staff were friendly
Cons: THe hotel is geting a big refurbishment. Restaurant is closed, so rather than eat breakfast in a conferance room, we went into the city instead. In the bedrooms, the choice of opaque glass door to the bathroom was an odd one. Especially as in my room it faces directly onto the bed. I may look stylish, but is not particularly sound proof! And if anyone wants to us the bath room in thhe night, the doors is lit up like an enormous night light!
Mediocre 2.8
Pros: the place was clean
Cons: Jurys Inn had no charm. It was a modern space, dorm room style maze. A lot of eastern European workers with no charm. The red head curly haired euro woman need to learn to smile. I hated my stay here. No food at night. Cold AC. Wankers!
Good 6.7
Pros: Nice hotel, quiet rooms, very good food throughout the hotel.
Cons: Tiny bathroom with a glass door so if someone got up in the night and put the light on in the bathroom it lit the whole room up,staff not very friendly.
Excellent 8.2
Cons: No elevators. Long walks to

Excellent 8.8
Pros: Diana is very hospitable, all rooms are clean and the breakfast is great value. Close proximity to Summertime for pubs and restaurants.
Cons: WiFi wasn't great and single rooms are very small for a big man like me!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The welcome was expansive. Room exactly what I needed. Location ideal.
Cons: Noise from nearby junction was persistent, but I was too tired to stay awake and listen to it.
Okay 5.8
Pros: Location was good, bus stop close by and on weekends it is free to park on the road outside B&B
Cons: Wifi kept cutting out throughout the night, I had a lamp with no bulb, quite expensive considering I had a small room with shared bathroom and no breakfast. Not good value for money.
Good 6.7
Pros: The room was good and tea and coffee making facilities were provided. The young lady running the place was very pleasant and helpful. (I believe she was a local university student working over the summer vacation) The location, although not central, was very close to a frequent bus service
Cons: Although it was adequate, I felt that at £115 per night, it is over-priced. Secondly, although advertised as B and B, no breakfast was available!!!
Okay 4.2
Pros: There were no interference. Location was close to city. I was allowed to park. I arrived early and was let in.
Cons: I did not have breakfast as I believe that a Bed and breakfast should include breakfast and not charge separately. Location was noisy at night. Full of spiders. Cleanliness below par. No housekeeping during stay. Rubbish could have been emptied if not daily. Stain on radiator in shower, on cubicle and filthy behind toilet. There was only one sachet of coffee and not enough of other tea facilities. Not a single biscuit. Furniture are tatty and should all be replaced. AS FOR LUXURY THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE. The owner was kind enough to let me in early but was sort of grumpy.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Easy parking and access to the town , absolutely perfect , personalised breakfast prepared to order , warm welcome and persistent pleasantness from my host - Diana
Cons: Nothing really comes to mind

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Hosts were thoughtful and helpful. It was a friendly environment which made my stay even more enjoyable. Good to have free on-site parking.
Cons: Could be a bit noisy at night.
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The staff had very bad attitude. They were not helpful. We were charged 40 pounds (20 per room) for a late arrival despite letting them know about our late arrival almost a week before. They formally refused our request for late check just the same day of our arrival with the intention to force us pay extra 40 pounds for this. We were forced to, since we didn't have any time to book another hotel. One of the 2 rooms they gave us was not cleaned and untidy. It was a real mess. We were given another room which was ok. There was no soap or bodywash in the bathroom and had to ask for it. We were never given these but instead the staff insisted that they existed and didn't bother to help us. The heater was off during the whole night and the room was freezing cold. Breakfast was below expectations, taking into consideration the price of the room. Also, when we explained the manager the situation regarding the extra charge of 40 pounds for late check in we were subjected to irony that 40pounds is no big deal.
Good 7.1
Pros: It was friendly
Cons: Price
Mediocre 2.9

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very nice comfy room and a great breakfast
Good 7.9
Pros: The room was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and well equipped. There was a good shower and nice toiletries in the bathroom. The breakfast was excellent.
Cons: There was quite a lot of noise from the road and the room was very warm, however ear plugs and cooling fans were provided.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Decor of rooms. Coffee making facilities
Good 7.5
Pros: The location in Woodstock is a few hundred yards from Blenheim Palace which was our visit plan. The evening staff were really helpful and chatty. Coffee machine in the room was great. ( It would be a good time to consider coffee bags in support of reduction of plastic waste along with a second bottle of water). Bathroom towels were great, large, soft , fragrant.
Cons: The room we had in the hotel was on the main road so early morning traffic noice was loud. The room was on the second floor with a narrow stairway to it so was tricky to navigate with bags. The room was also very hot, so sleep was difficult. There is no dedicated parking so i was concerned to ensure that car was parked legally. The shower dripped and the solution had been to leave the shower head in the bath - it worked but needed a permanent solution We did not feel the restaurant was good value for money and parts of the meal did not meet our expectations. However service was good and we were asked how we wanted to deal with the issues which arose. Interestingly we were not offered a second cup of coffee with breakfast.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Friendly and relaxed service, a range of breakfast options and comfy rooms.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Great pub, great food and really friendly. Food particularly good value and nice touches in the room.
Cons: I was in James 1 room, above the main bar and with single glazed windows. Remedy, ear plugs if your a light sleeper.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Clean bathroom and room with a super comfy bed.
Cons: The smell of the toilets as you come into reception.

Good 7.9
Pros: Location brilliant. Staff very friendly. Hotel quirky in a good way.
Cons: Needs a bit of cleaning. Lot of dust on ornamental China in dining room. Bedroom also had dust on all furniture.
Good 7.1
Pros: The room was great. Lovely four poster bed. Spacious and intimate though the bathroom was rather non descript and the bath tube not dissimilar to the ones you had at summer camp when you where a teenager.
Cons: There was no “lounge” or somewhere to sit and relax after a long day walking around the park. There should be a space exclusive to hotel guests with a few sofas, a fireplace some better music than the elevator music popped out on repeat
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The hotel was very nice
Cons: Paying for the car park
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The staff were so welcoming and went the extra mile. The bed and pillows were so comfy. All the food was cooked to order. And of a Very good quality. Spotlessly clean. Very big bedroom although we had an executive room. Lots of hot water. Would love to go again. Also 5 mins walking distance to Blenhiem Palace.
Cons: Nothing it was so good.
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: Location and price
Cons: Unfortunately the website was very unclear upon booking so our Company believed that the booking had been paid, when in fact it needed to be paid at the hotel. Unfortunately, instead of discreetly informing our engineer of this error, he was humiliated and made out that he was trying to 'dodge the bill.' A little professionalism and discreetness goes a long way!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The staff were amazing - very welcoming and polite. The hotel is very quirky and cute!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Excellent value for money and the food (dinner and breakfast) was fantastic. Great location for Blenheim Palace (walking distance) and staff were both friendly and professional.
Good 6.0
Pros: Lovely room. Very comfortable and cosy with a good bed and plenty of hot water. Friendly Head lady on at breakfast. Plenty of gluten free options.
Cons: Very slow breakfast. Waited along time for the breakfast to arrive. Not very comfortable restaurant or bar area. No evening menu until the restaurant opened at 1900 and then very limited choice.
Good 7.9
Pros: Old world charm Clean comfortable room Great access to Blenheim palace and Oxford
Cons: Bathroom was rather small and bath panel needed replacing Car parking charge of £10 per night
Excellent 9.4
Pros: The room was clean comfortable and surprisingly modern, refurbished sympathetically. The bed was very comfortable with quality linen. Very friendly welcome and old fashioned customer service standards

Cons: The mattress could have been better. The shower crucible could have been bigger being so much space in the bathroom. Shame the restaurant closed earlier than the schedule time on the night I arrived.
Good 7.0
Pros: Parking and location
Cons: The bathroom was quite old and needed some TLC
Okay 5.4
Pros: The hotel is well positioned in the charming town of Woodstock and it has free parking. It is clean and comfortable.
Cons: The way I was treated by the hotel management. I'd stayed at the hotel all week as a single guest. On my last day an error occurred with the booking process which resulted in two rooms being reserved which I didn't notice until the following day. In addition and ironically, due to a family emergency, I was unable to stay at the hotel that night. Despite my best efforts to obtain a satisfactory resolution to the above, the hotel management were totally unwilling to refund me for the unused rooms or even just for one room that clearly wasn't required. It is therefore abundantly clear to me that rather than care about good customer relations, the hotel is only interested in making money any which way it can even if it means effectively charging customers for services they haven't received. I for one will not stay at the hotel again and I would strongly urge others to avoid it.
Good 6.0
Pros: Clean, comfortable room. Very good value breakfast. Great location in centre of town with free parking.
Cons: The room was very noisy - it is located at ground level right next to a busy street, so traffic noise starts around 4.30am.

Okay 5.8
Pros: Breakfast was fairly good. Had to make our own toast.
Cons: Bathroom could be improved. O.k for one night only
Good 6.9
Pros: Evening meal and breakfast were good. Mattress was comfortable. Staff friendly. Location excellent, especially for walks along canal towpath. Lovely homely feel.
Cons: No marmalade at breakfast, only jams and honey. No toiletries in bathroom. Bath seals a little grubby.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Great location on bus route to Oxford and close to Blenheim Palace
Good 7.5
Pros: Beautifully positioned near to the canal. Easy drive into Oxford centre. The staff were helpful & the rooms we booked were clean and had all we needed.
Cons: We ordered a full English breakfast but, the bread for the toast was a week out of date and was green with mould. It put us off the breakfast as it made us wonder what else was out of date.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The atmosphere although "Dick" never did show his face. haha. Food was good and all in all a very pleasant experience.
Cons: Don't start vacuuming the dining room until breakfast is finished at 9:30 a.m. Quite disturbing actually but otherwise very happy and I would certainly stay there again.
