Hotels near London Gatwick Airport

Pros: The people working at the inn were absolutely lovely. They went out of their way to make me comfortable and give me anything I needed for my visit. The room was well decorated and the bed quite comfortable. The breakfast (included) and dinner were delicious.

Cons: The only thing I would suggest is using Uber over the suggested taxi company, as of the two taxis I took from the hotel (that the innkeeper called for me), neither took credit card. They should have, but both insisted on cash. This was not the innkeeper's fault, but if you prefer to use credit card, go with Uber, just in case.

Pros: Spacious and comfortable bedding. Nicer than expected breakfast. Nice staff.

Pros: After spending six weeks in France and the U.K. this hotel proved to be not only the best facility for the money, but the best facility in every way. They responded to our every need and helped us immensely in working out the London travel segment of our journey through train tips. Awesome service!

Pros: Everything was cozy and wonderful about this place. The host was very courteous. They even gave me one of the bigger rooms and it was probably the best bed i slept in since the beginning of my vacation. Breakfast was delicious.

Parking was a very reasonable £25 a week The bedroom/en-suite were really clean and the bed very comfortable. Pros: Facilities in the room were good It looked very good indeed with a resident polar bear on the single bed. Well provided for withtea/coffee and toiletries.

Cons: The carpet had a slight odour. I gradually realised that this was due to mould. The bathroom floor is full of mould. I had to clean it four times prior to washing myself.

Cons: Wirless did not work, room was very very small including the bathroom. Without having internet it was a huge inconvenience to look at flights for the next day without having data.

Pros: Early flight? Missed connection? Travel disrupted? This is a great choice provided it's only one night and the rates aren't higher than the other choices close by. Tiny rooms, tiny bathroom, great bed, very clean.

Pros: Just as advertised, comfortable and functional room at an affordable price, just a couple of minutes away from airport security as well as train station. The space available is quite tight, so don't expect to 'enjoy' it much (even though bed is very comfortable and shower is very nice), this is no leisure hotel, but rather 'get it done' style accommodation.

Cons: After using the shower, the floor is wet so if you need to use the toilet after you'll be stepping on water and then out again onto the carpet. Again, functional but less than ideal. Maybe the floor should be slightly tilted in the shower so it drains/dries quicker.

Cons: The shower kept turning itself on and required attention during the night on 3 occasions and I was not inclined to get dressed to go out into the main corridor to utilise the hotels "free" telephone to reception to report the matter. I was unable to turn off the air conditioning fan via the touch screen.Reported both these to reception at 4.30 am as we were leaving. An relatively costly excersise for little rest.

I'm a fan of planes and upgrading to a room with a window was the best decision as planes were flying by. I had a good night sleep and it was a quiet room with a great bed

Cons: I booked for 2 nights, flight problems lead to me missing my first night and arriving very late the next. On arrival I was lead to believe my booking had been canceled and the hotel was full After 2 hours I was given a room and my booking re-instated. Why was this necessary, I had a booking, I arrived, to wait until 3:30am to be given my room was almost unbelievable.

Cons: The “eggs” at the the breakfast buffet were not really eggs and tasted horrible, but all the other food was great. And the hotel was clean and conveniently located.

Pros: A hotel attached to the departure terminal should be a thing in every major airport. So convenient for extended layovers.

Cons: The AC in the room either didn't work or didn't work very well. The room never achieved the temperature set on the thermostat. The staff attempted to fix it from somewhere outside the room but we didnly notice a change. We were too tired from traveling to deal with it any further and just slept.

Pros: Check-in was quick and easy, room was very clean and new, despite being attached to the airport it was extremely quiet, and the wifi was excellent. The included breakfast was fantastic - huge and varied - much appreciated before an early morning flight. Also had dinner in the same lounge area the night before and all of the staff who served us were lovely. Highly recommend this hotel and will stay again.

Cons: The only negative I can come up with is that it is in the north terminal and I was flying out of the south, but that's hardly much of an issue because the tram between the two is all of a 3 minute walk from the hotel door.

Pros: Located in the airport. Although I was flying out of the south terminal and this hotel is in the north terminal, it took just a few minutes to get to my terminal.

Pros: 1.Right at the airport which allowed me to sleep a little longer not having to worry about transport to the terminal 2. bed was comfortable but could have been a little longer I am 191cm tall and found it a bit difficult to stretch out with the overhang of the wall at the foot of the bed 3. nice and quiet until the early morning rush of people getting ready to leave then there is the general noise of water running and bustling

Cons: 1. Toilet was to close to the sink where it may cause some discomfort for heavy set people to sit 2. there was only one towel and no facecloth. There was no towel for the floor so once I was done showering I am walking barefoot outside the shower room which is the bathroom onto the room entrance where all the shoe grime is, since there is nowhere else to get dressed. 3. my control for the internet wasn't working properly, the mouse feature was stuck in upward position, I am certain the front desk would have replaced it but I only wanted to check my email quickly and couldn't be bothered getting out of bed and getting dressed to go to the front desk for that, maybe a weekly check of such details would avoid inconveniencing the customers.

Pros: The hotel location is very good for access to Gatwick airport, very convenient. It’s a very no nonsense type of place, efficient staff, clean comfortable room. I have used it numerous times in the past and currently use it regularly for both business and leisure flights from Gatwick. The hotel has just recently undergone a refurbishment, modernising many of its rooms.

Pros: As expected for a Holiday Inn, staff was fantastic, great location if you want a quick overnight hotel for an early morning flight. The GBP3 shuttle bus only takes about 15 mins from Gatwick South and only 5-10 from the hotel to Gatwick South. All in all, a great bargain for only GBP49.

Cons: The room did not have a minibar/minifridge, which was a pain because I had some things I wanted to keep fresh for the next day flight. Also, very little free tv channels compared to their "100+ channels" advertising. The mattress wasn't what you would get at a 5 star (obviously), but definitely better than your average budget hotel.

Pros: There were problems with TV reception and the payment required for internet access in our room ws buried in the "fine print". I approached the manager, Gabriella, and received a very fair hearing, and a compromise on price that was acceptable. This made our stay much more satisfactory. We did not eat at your hotel; the prices were much higher than we expected. Breakfast at an extra GBP14.95 is not likely to attract many takers. We found a local pub, Ye Olde Six Bells, and had two good meals there.

Cons: The bus service to and from the Northern terminal was good, but again we expected this to be complimentary. The charge was not excessive, just unexpected. The service was provided under a "courtesy coach" label, and we felt this meant complimentary.

Pros: The reception staff are always really nice and in the mornings and it's always nice and calm in the restaurant for breakfast. They have a good range of breakfast food and a 24hr bar so there's always somewhere to go other than your room

Cons: The towles smelt like curry Which was off putting and house keeping were quite rude. The main issue is that there's nothing to do or anywhere to go in the area. You have to get a bus or taxi everywhere you go.

Pros: 1) I loved that the price was amongst the cheapest and closest to the Gatwick Airport. Staff was friendly and helpful. 2) Its glose to the Gatwick express (South terminal) to catch express train to Victoria Station and back. I suggest buying the tickets online, its cheaper. 3) The room was clean, as well as the toilet. 4) There is a gas station next to the hotel, and it has a convenient store. 5) Shuttle to the airport passes by every 15 min.

Cons: 1) No instructions through booking company nor on their website was given how to reach the hotel with the shuttle service from the airport. It would have facilitated having this extra information upon arrival. [ FYI: when exiting the terminal (South at least) you must go down to the bottom most floor and wait at bus parking spot 8-9. There are i believe 5 buses (G1, G2, G3, I7 and I8) and depending which hotel you travel to you should use the correct one. Each way on the shuttle is £3. Another lady traveling to another hotel had specific printable information of where to get the bus shuttle and which one. ] 2) The wifi at the hotel is free, although at times it would lose connectivity and at times go out of range. The speed was around 2Mbs and had a ping of at least 500. 3) My room (418) door would close, but I wasn't able to use the security Lock bolt. I guess it would hit the door frame or so.

Cons: The sound of the elevator woke me up several times in the night and when I shifted myself the bed moved around, get rid of the wheels.

Cons: Couldn't charge phone next to bed because there were no outlets. I needed to charge my phone, but wanted to have it next to me in bed. This may seem minor, but it was very irritating. Lots of noise in the corridors. I wanted to turn on lamp next to bed only, but only option was wall switch, which turned on every light in the room. I didn't want every light on. Food options are very expensive, at the hotel and inside the airport. There is a very nice Indian cuisine restaurant, Jai Ho, outside the airport complex in Horley that is a short walk away. I highly recommend it.

Pros: The best part of this hotel is that it is so close to the London Gatwick hotel it may as well be a part of it. Very convenient!

Cons: The hotel is terribly maintained. Had to switch rooms twice due to bathroom related maintenance issues. They finally put me in a decent room on the executive lounge, which was OK but even that had its issues. AC was terrible and the spacing between the bathroom sink and faucet was very awkward, making it difficult to effectively wash your hands. All in all a pretty bad hotel. The staff was nice though.

Cons: Lacks child friendly entertainment. Require some renovation, the tiles in the bathroom looked like they were about to fall off the wall and the thrown floor was sticky!

Cons: The hotel is tired. Thankfully, I was upgraded to a newer room. Mattress is super hard. To get to the room, you must walk tons. The hotel needs serious renovation. Because options are limited for overnight flight.

Pros: When I reserve into a Hilton I’m expecting a certain standard. This hotel falls far short of that expectation. It really needed an upgrade years ago! So yes, they save money by not upgrading but their brand suffers substantially!

Cons: Reception and bar ateas stank. Wifi inadequate to use in room - had to go to bar area to get signal. Hotel advertises a shuttle service. However the pickup at airport is "on request" . That doesn't work for me - coming from Canada - I did not have UK phone capabilities. Hollow offer.

Cons: Not one staff person we dealt with spoke English as his/her native tongue. The room was small and the bathroom, tiny. There is no lift, just a very narrow and steep staircase. The price was outrageous for what we got but that's pretty much how we found everything in the UK.
