Terrible experience, I arrived 30 mins late because of a flight delay. I attempted to contact Europcar several times with no answer. Upon arrival I was told “we gave your car away because we didn’t think you were coming”.

Convenient location in an older building along with a fuel station and a car wash. the rental agent was very cordial and showed me the return location (was confusing) as the building driveway had tight clearances. Return equally easy since I understood where to go. Were given a cute Citroen C3 with a six speed manual trans which was comfortable, fun to drive, and offered plenty of space for the two of us. Five gold stars!

The rental location was extremely hard to find. The car was not available at our reservation time, so we waited 3 hours to pick it up. We were assured that the car had wi-fi, but it did not. The GPS system was mediocre and in French. Turning the car in was extremely difficult with no staff person at the garage. In summary, the worst car rental experience I have ever experienced!!!

Had to wait 20 min for a Bidget shuttle while 7 (yes seven) shuttles for Alamo, Enterprise and almost every other rental car passed by. When we got to the rental car building the line to rent wrapped clear around the building. Serious 75 yard long line. It was unbelievable, the longest I’ve ever seen for a rental co. And it moved at a snails pace. Hours. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable

We reserved a Red Hyundai and instead received an EV for a day in which we were making a day trip to Normandy France. Instead of filling up gas once or twice, we had to charge our car five separate times, totaling over 2 hours in lost time. The car was also improperly inspected prior to our use of it, as the back right tire was underinflated, nearly causing serious injury and perhaps death due to its popping on the highway. Moreover, Hertz’s customer service was comically bad when this (their fault) happened. Imagine a world in which the operator responds to your plea with “I do not know what to do.” We live in that world. We had to, on our own, call a tow truck and deal with an auto shop in rural France, an extreme inconvenience to all involved. If friends ever ask which company to rent from in Paris, I will simply not answer Hertz.

We booked and fully paid for an automatic car with Hertz via Kayak. At that pick up Hertz said our booking was an electric car which wasn’t specified anywhere in our booking. We ended up having to top up 20-40 euros per day to get a petrol/diesel car: 20 euros additional for manual, or 40 euros additional for an automatic. Our booking specified automatic car but no use we had to pay extra to get an automatic petrol/diesel car.

Kayak messed up the booking. Did not let us know that we booked an electric car that was not suited for long drives. Hertz charged double to give us a non-electric car. It was a disaster and was Kayak's fault.

The car was fine. The pickup at Hertz Charles deGaulle Terminal 3 was terrible. Car wasn't near ready. Long, SLOW processing. I'd never rent from them again - at least not at that site.

Dirty and unavailable child carseats, they had to borrow one from another agency !!! Although it was reserved ! Pick-up lengthy and slow service, had to sign up to avis preferred service as they advertised to skip the line, agent tried to hassle with me but showed her their ads to skip their long lengthy slow service line which is so annoying after a 16 hours flight

Pros:

Great to be able to get vehicle right in downtown Paris and easy drive out of the city. The agent was fantastic although the fact that we are never quite sure what additional insurance we actually need was it's usual source of stress. We rented an economy car and ended up with a beautiful and surprisingly fuel efficient Mercedes AMG.

Cons:

We just don't love the whole last minute insurance pressure. Would be better if we researched better in advance. I think that we actually have enough coverage between our credit card and insurance from home.

My online car rental reservation process was smooth and hassle-free. However, upon arrival at the airport and visiting the Europa booth, we were met with a concerning issue. No staff members were present to assist us, even though we arrived just before their official closing time of 10:30 pm. We patiently waited for their arrival, but when someone finally showed up, there was no acknowledgment of our wait, and no sign of apologetic behavior. To our astonishment, we were informed that we had to pay an additional 35 Euros due to our supposed late arrival. This experience left us deeply dissatisfied with the overall customer service provided by the company. Regrettably, we cannot recommend using their services in the future.
