10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a special place and you feel special when you enter the front door. Perched on the top of the hill it has a great view from the gardens and the top floors of both the town and the water. Our top floor room was lovely and in keeping with the Victorian era of the mansion (as well as all of Port Townsend), the bed very comfortable and the en suite the expected size and perfect. The breakfasts were scrumptious - 3 course, locally grown and gourmet! Everything in town was a quick walk down hill. Kimberly was the perfect hostess, thank you. Fun to learn about the history of the building, the owner's steampunk interest and all the events in town in throughout the year - have to make it back for them!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous 3 course breakfast with vegetarian option. The sitting area (room 1) has a wonderful 270-degree view from its 4 windows and is a lovely place to read. Fireplace and claw-foot tub. The whole house has a museum-like quality and furnishings, and the location is an easy walk from the main street.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! From the warm welcome to the tooth brushes (we forgot ours) to the delicious breakfast. It was a wonderful place to stay.
Cons: There was nothing we didn't like, but we prefer light wright down comforters to heavy bedspreads.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My friend and I were coming into Port Townsend to go whale watching. The Old Consulate Inn was the most affordable and did not have a minimum night stay. We shared the bedroom with the twin beds for a night. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very spacious. Aside from the courthouse bell, it was very quiet. The building is a beautiful Victorian home built around 1889. The owners have done a good job with upkeep and decor. They also accommodated our early departure the next morning. We requested a to-go breakfast. The regular seated breakfast is around 9am. In our boxed breakfast we were surprised to see all the food. There was a lot of it! And all so good! There were 2 different muffins, 2 different fruit cups, slices ham, and 3 kinds of cheese. It was very delightful!! They were also flexible with dietary restrictions. I would stay there again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay was unexpectedly wonderful. Gorgeous place, lovely people. We have no idea how these folks do what they do and graciously at that. Love Port Townsend & this is a treasure within it.
Cons: All things being equal, we really couldn't think of anything to complain about.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hosts showed exceptional generosity. Allowed our friends to come and enjoy refreshments and use of their extensive board game collection.
6.7 Good
Pros: Nicely decorated.
Cons: The bell that chimes the hour, EVERY hour all night. (Loud) My fault for not checking, but the bathtub is in the room just feet from the bed. Had I known it wasn’t located in the room with toilet and sink, Id not have booked that room. We did sponge baths for our stay.

9.4 Excellent (150 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Blue Gull Inn Bed and Breakfast in Port Townsend, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Kah Tai Lagoon Nature Park and Northwest Maritime Center. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place to stay. Will definitely be back. Minutes to waterfront via walking. Lots of dinning and shopping options. Beautiful to see deer strolling through the streets. Staff was super helpful with recommendations and providing the best experience.
Cons: It is an older home, so floors creak, LOL. We are early risers so hopefully we didn't disturb the other household guests. On the flip side, we go to bed early and I have to say I didn't hear anyone else in the house.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, close to downtown. Very clean and very quiet.
Cons: The bed was really nice but we are used to a Tempurpedic mattress so we both woke up stiff. But all in all it was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Diane did an amazing job of welcoming us and helping us to plan out our visit. The home is beautiful with all of the architectural features of a home built in 1859, but with a nicely modernized set of features that add to your comfort without changing the historic feel. The breakfast was exceptional and a lot of fun with the lively conversation from the other guests.
Cons: There isn’t anything that I was surprised by or disappointed with. Everything was exactly as I had hoped.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly host and beautiful home.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were in town for the strange brew fest. The house was very accommodating
Cons: The history was very interesting and the company was amazing!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The guest that stayed and breakfast
Cons: Bed was a little uncomfortable
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The house manager was incredible! She gave us all great local tips and organized the breakfast so well. She was always bright and cheery and made Our stay better! The room was great for us. How often can you find a room with one queen and one twin (just what we needed for 3 adults)? Although it was tight, we had everything we needed and our own private bath!!
Cons: The distance from the Main Street. This is not something that the B&B can change. It was an easy enough walk up the hill, maybe a 20 minute walk from the main part of town. But it was an easy drive and a quiet location. So there are trade offs.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: friendly and helpful staff/owners

Pros: We enjoyed the hospitality, privacy, cleanliness, and peaceful environment. The homemade breakfast was lovely!
Cons: I liked everything.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent. Very quiet and close to my friend's home in Port Townsend. Fresh strawberries from their garden. And they had deer that visited outside the window during breakfast in the morning.
Cons: The innkeepers did not provide maid service. They had a sign to save water saying "please reuse your towels, and if you want a new towel, put the dirty towel on the floor". They never checked to see if we needed a new towel or wash cloth, even though we put two towels and a wash cloth on the shower floor. They did not clean the bathroom nor did they make the bed.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Quite, relaxing and enjoyable. Nature galore. Friendly staff & good food.
Cons: N/A
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The food was great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly hosts. Breakfast was great every day!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We took a whale watching cruise the next morning which meant we had to leave before breakfast was normally scheduled. They made breakfast earlier to support our schedule. I'm not promising that they will do that for everyone but it showed that they are willing to go above and beyond. The deer outside in the morning was a nice addition.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just about everything. The place is beautiful and it was such a treat to see the deer in the front yard every morning.
Cons: The Wi-fi wasn't very strong.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Warm and homey
Cons: A little far from the old town part of Port Townsend

Pros: It's haunted! I love the velvet ropes that are in front of all the room doors- feels like you're staying in the rooms in an old mansion museum.
6.0 Good
Pros: I didn't know there was a breakfast.
Cons: No Xmas tree on the 2nd floor this year. I realize they couldn't have a real tree, but should have made more of a effort to get a artificial tree. It wouldnt have been that hard. That's one of the reasons we go during the holiday. To sit and play board games and enjoy the ambiance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a charming place to stay in one of my favorite towns. The hotel feels like a little museum itself. I will be staying here again for sure!

Cons: The hotel changed ownership a few years ago and after the renovations the landscape maintenance and overall maintenance of the building seems to have lapsed into a shopworn appearance. It's disappointing: a formerly handsome establishment looking shoddy.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Great folks at the front desk!
Cons: My bathroom smelled so strongly of mold that I worried I began to smell like mold, too.
7.0 Good
Pros: Standard motel 6 like. Having a queen and a twin bed was great for having my husband and daughter with me. View of water is nice. Parking is easy. Walking distance from co-op. Good TV and channel options. Love the pool and hot tub.
Cons: My main problem was there were a lot of very loud people that night, and nobody to really contact about it. Towels are really thin and they don't give you enough of them... One thin towel per person is not sufficient. The top blankets on the bed didn't seem to be the cleanest. Not having a gluten free option for breakfast, even after asking for one in advance, was very disappointing.

10.0 Excellent

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff. Close to everything
Cons: Can't think of anything I didn't like
7.0 Good
Pros: This hotel was priced appropriately for its location and age. A few of us walked the half mile into town. While not a fancy place, it was clean and the beds were comfortable. They provided extra pillows upon request. The staff was very friendly! The breakfast was bagels and cream cheese, muffins, orange juice, coffee, and cereal with milk. Several of us enjoyed the pool/hottub - it's small but what fun to enjoy an indoor pool with kids in the evening before bed. Easy driving access to Fort Worden.
7.0 Good
Pros: The only indoor pool and hot tub in PT are great, especially for kids. Good value for a couple of nights if you don't need pampering, but you get what you pay for. It is a budget hotel.
Cons: Rooms are very outdated, towels were small and rough, continental breakfast was weak. Windows open to parking lot/walkway, which is a drag because the curtains are blackout.

Cons: nothing - everything met or exceeded our expectations

Pros: The view was spectacular.
Cons: Dirty, stained carpets. Dated and stained furniture. Fresh dog bones on the floor of the breakfast room. Premium room, not likely... older and not well maintained.

Cons: It is an older home, so floors creak, LOL. We are early risers so hopefully we didn't disturb the other household guests. On the flip side, we go to bed early and I have to say I didn't hear anyone else in the house.

Pros: Great location, close to downtown. Very clean and very quiet.
Cons: The bed was really nice but we are used to a Tempurpedic mattress so we both woke up stiff. But all in all it was great.
