nothing special the noise of some guests, the noise of children, lack of culture of some guests
Fredrik and his team make you very welcome. The rooms are warm and clean. The view from our room to Mont B;anc was spectacular. The hotel is one minute walk from the telecabine and access to all Megeves slopes. Food is excellent.
easy access to ski area and downtown. low budget. downside is the fact that hotel staff wasnt so good at english.
The hotel was within easy walking distance of the town. The free parking and wifi were a bonus. The hotel was quite basic but nice and clean and the beds were comfortable. We emailed in advance to ask for a contact for the nearest ski school and got no reply. When we tried to telephone no one would speak to us as they were busy in the restaurant. This delay resulted in our holiday almost being spoiled as the local ski school was full when we arrived and we had to travel 20 minutes each day to another resort.
staff, service, meals, location. computer keyboard
manager very helpful with good english & a pleasant maner breakfast bread stale - 2 day old - but we were there at bank holiday road noise loud & intrusive on front rooms. Hotel a little shabby in places - but clean.
Wooden traditional looking building, blends in well. Manager was pro-actively helpful to us from the get-go, and fluent in English; a good guy. 5 minutes nice stroll up to town. Good shower. Parking available. Great breakfast room view over the mountains Lacked a mirror in the room and smells a bit musty. A bit of fruit at breakfast would be welcome. Nothing of consequence that detracted from the visit though
The location is good. The staff is very courteous and helpful. It is good value for money. It does not have an electric tea kettle which is commonly provided in hotel rooms.
The owner was very helpful in giving us info on things to do. Good breakfast. comfortable beds The rooms are a little small, but good value for money
Nothing in fact... Very expensive (poor service/ not so clean)
The restaurant, the quiet Wasn't a problem for me, because there wasn't too much traffic at the time I visited, but the car park is fairly small and there's not a lot of carparking space in the street. Breakfast price very high for what you got. Directions to reach there from some hotel staff not brilliant.
The hotel is just 1 minute walk from City hall and Megeve's high street, hard to beat that. As we were in Megeve for a wedding, I needed to iron my shirt, but this was not included in the room, Staff however was quick to immediately bring me one at no cost. We also arrived a few hours earlier and left many hours after the hotel's check-in and check-out policies but once again, staff did not even bother mentioning it to us. The room was clean and quiet so we had a very good sleep. We are very happy with our choice on this strip. Nothing to complain about.
Great location close to center of town, right next door to the grocery. Friendly staff, great wifi, pool, and just enough parking for my little car. We got some end of the season room rates, so we were very satisfied. I think the little twin beds are on wheels so it was a challenge to keep them together. Couldn't really figure out if the restaurant was open. Also "end of the season" meant we couldn't stay an extra night because the hotel closed! However, the girls found us another room in town. Thanks!
location and smiling reception we had a room for three that was really just: for the price we expected more confort. Breakfast could be improved with selection of products of better quality.
Excellent, friendly, intelligent reception None
Great location, quiet and a short walk from village centre and ski lift. very comfortable, nice healpful staff and a good breakfast
Hotel is nicely located very close to pedestrian zone in Megeve. It has quite a nice outdoor heated swimming pool. Outside high season it offers excellent value for money for Megeve. Standard room might be a bit small. While not a problem when you stay over the week-end like we did, it might become one once you stay longer / have a lot of luggage.
The hotel was very clean--which is rather unexpected for a hotel that is predominantly used for skiing holidays. We had to leave the Impérial in Annecy for one night during a six-day sty because it was booked full, thus had an excellent opportunity to compare the two hotels. The price was tagged too much to the presumed reputation of Megeve--too high, therefore. The same applied, b.t.w., for dinner prices at the Mont Blanc hotel. It is very surprising to find that luxury hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants in Annecy are more price-competitive than those in Megeve, even though the latter cannot boast Michelin stars!
reasonbly priced and very close to town centre ..pleasant and helpful staff
Very central hotel. Quiet Restaurant has to be paid separate from the hotel
A very nice hotel, we hope we could have stayed longer...To be tried at winter time!
Hotel design, practical spa, very professional service, nice views
Contemporary, luxury, design; comfortable rooms; an excellent spa; resourceful and friendly staff. No outdoor pool or hot tubs. Too far from town centre.
Staff, service, location, breakfast in room, spa, transportation, room, restaurant ... All above expectation.
Excellent location, food, amenities Hotel staff was surprised by rate we had received through hotelroom.com and kept wanting to overcharge us for various items (E.G. base room rate, extra beds) despite confirmed terms of our stay
every one so willing to make you feel good.excellent servise.expensive .people are great.pls regards to benn. he is perfect!! spa is quite compering other luxury hotels
Andrew the restaurant manager and the concierge staff were excellent and helpful. The room was very good and the facilities were also very good. We used the outside jacuzzi the pool and the inside jakuzzi. The food was fantastic. One night I bought two cokes from the bar which came to ten euros, I gave the barman who delivered them to our table twenty euros, he never offered or gave any change, it was embarassing and I did not want to complain, so I just left it, but it put me off drinking in the bar again. This is not a compliant, just an observation. This was an expensive stay and a suprise for my wife who had been in New Zealand to see her sick father over Christmas, the bar incident was the only thing to cloud a lovely stay, it made us feel a bit "ripped off" as if we were rich and could afford to throw money away - which we can't.
Great relaxed style. Friendly and efficient staff. Good food.
Great service one of the best I have ever lived My stay was too short
Calme, restaurant excellent
the whole is staff is fantastic. Benn, the concierge was wonderful. they really made our stay even more special . We were to stay four nights, and we ended by staying a whole week.
Authentic chalet style hotel, built entirely out of wood. Luxurious, nice gym and indoor pool, great outdoor jacuzzi, nice surroundings. The outdoor sauna looks good but is not up to standard; guests were complaining to the concierge about it. Typically french service; we showed up 5 min before the end of breakfast hours and the staff was not pleased; they did not handle this the way you would expect in a 5* hotel, which is what they charge you for anyway. Be ware of the bartender, he'll serve you a 50$ drink without blinking!
The whole experience was outstanding, faultless. The staff was impeccable and extremely welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was outstanding.
Good view of the Mont Blanc from the distance and personnel extremelly helpful Location is a bit isolated from the village and wifi internet does not really work in the rooms
Very friendly with good service
This Auberge is a delight. It has many assets, the best of all is its staff. All were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The owner is charming and her happy, efficient attitude permeates through the entire establishment. The other major plus is the food, provided by the owner's husband who is in charge of the kitchens! This was indeed a gourmet establishment, yet the prices charged were extremely reasonable. It is obviously also very popular with locals.Dinner at the Auberge is a memorable occasion, breakfast was exemplary with a wide selection of freshly made goodies. Accomodated in the annexe, our room had a verandah and views of Mont Blanc. The rooms are functional not luxurious, but they were clean and good value for the price charged
The room was clean and roomy, with a good bathroom, and a very pleasant outlook. There was a good car park, which in our case was not charged for. The hotel does not offer a fixed price three course menu, which makes eating expensive. There was no starter under 12 euros and any main meat course was 25 euros plus.
Staff was pleasant and very helpful. Owner of hotel was able to speak English and was knowledgable about the area. The room was always clean and had a lot of space. We had our best meal in France at this hotel's restaurant and it served meals that are typical of the area. The hot tub was great. We had the most beautiful view of Mont Blanc from our room. The children enjoyed the playground at the hotel also. No complaints about the hotel, we just had to ask for directions once we got into Sallenches to find the hotel.
Charming location with superb views, comfortable rooms, extremely friendly staff, meals were French cuisine at its finest. Also they are very pet friendly. Nothing, this place is amazing.
Excellent service, superb food and very good value. A view of Mont Blanc from both the restaurant and the balcony of our room had us spellbound during our wonderful stay.
Convinient location, comfortable rooms, cozy atmosphere!
The hotel has a fantastic restaurant which served some of the best food I have ever tasted and the rooms were adequate for a night's stay
room was excellent not very close to the pists
everything. we loved it so much we booked to go back 3 night later. really good value for money, staff are lovely, great location and facilities
Very good value for money and excellent facilities - will definitely be back. No
Very well located, comfy rooms and good service. We staid in a suite with separate living-room/kitchen and bedroom in the back of the hotel, with a nice big balcony. The spa area is not big but has all you need to relax! Breakfast buffet at 16 EUR/pers, for the price it could be a bit more "rich"
- breakfast, attitude personel at reception and during breakfast We needed badly after visiting a physicist in the evening the address of a open pharmacie. The reception was not informed about the strike of the pharmacists in the region. So it took some time to persuede them to help us.
This hotel carried the vote for best over 6 options by a slim margin, very popular with the boys. I think everyone just felt comfortable there., Some impressive staff at breakfast and dinner. Very well run, good family room. Very pleasant design and furnishing. It must disappoint the cleaners who had the room spotless that some grub must smoke and the stench remains with us all long after they have gone, only downside.
The Hotel was in a great location up on a hill overlooking a valley down below. Rooms were clean, and tidy and staff were very helpful. Was a little on the expensive side when it came to meals and drinks compared to other hotels in the area.
helpful staff & the room
Envirement, Staff, Confort no
The suite was spacious and designed with skiiers/mountaineers in mind, that is with ample provision for wet clothes. The hoteehas a view to raise the spirits in the morning. Service was excellent and friendly. None
Location is very good in the hart of the village and near the ski-lifts High price for a 4-starhotel without swimmingpool. Breakfastquality ( i.e.no cereal bread, poor fruit) is mediocre. Rooms are not well isolated, you hear neighbours talking.
staff, location and room comforts that they charged for tea and coffee in the room
Location at the center of the village, clean, newly refurbished hotel, friendly personnel. very beautiful village/ surroundings. Breakfast to be included in the room rate
All the staff went out of their way to be helpful at all times. We have never before encountered such universal thoughtfulness and courtesy in a hotel. For example, we simply asked how best to get to the far end of the town to go skiing from the hotel. Their instant response was to drive us there (at no cost). Similarly, we were picked up in the evening within 5 minutes of phoning to say we were ready! In future, when we come to Megeve, this is the only place we would want to stay. Initially, our room was quite small, but as soon as we mentioned this, they arranged to move us to a larger room (at minimal inconvenience to us).
Very central location, really was 5 mins from the lift. The room was excellent for a ski hotel - clean and comfortable. The bar is small but cosy. Breakfast was excellent, but make sure you turn up early as the upstairs/overflow breakfast room is not as good as the main ground floor breakfast room. The staff were the real reason we rated this hotel so highly. Helpful, attentive and friendly and quick to do the things you don't expect. On one of the evenings we had booked a meal around 15 mins away by car, not realising it was that far away. The hotel manager asked one of her staff to drive us up there in his own car. A nice touch which summed up their attitude to their guests. Nothing.
The hotel staff were friendly and efficient and spoke excellent English. They made our stay very enjoyable, in this very centrally located hotel.
Great facilities, especially the steam and sauna room, comfortable rooms and living area, and friendly staff. extra charge for parking, quite pricey
hotel staff excellent, silence.. no was facilities-only piscin and fittnes,no function jacuzzi, no open any restaurant in hotel
Pleasant atmosphere, staff and service good, convenient location. Even for a premium hotel and allowing for the exchange rate it was notably expensive. But then, the whole resort is up there with Courchevel!
Everything was within walking distance and so close to the main ski lifts! No
Exelent hotel for nachtlive and people who likes to go out In the summer no airco and you cant open the windows because theres much noice from the discotheke white pearl
The restaurant Les Enfant Terrible turned out to be a very nice place
Pleasant atmosphere, hotel staff very good - excellent and convenient location. Facilities in the SPA not working. Very Disappointed !!! Jacuzzi out of order, the water in the swimming pool very cold and the sauna was "cold" - sauna door always open..?! unusual. And the hotel restaurant was closed. Very Disappointed !!!
The decor - especially the main sitting area; so comfortable and opulent, with nice view of the main square. Also the location.
a cosy hotel, feeling at home immediately
The location is perfect, right at the heart of Megeve, and the rooms are very comfortable, warm. The staff is generally a bit abrupt and sometimes rude, especially the concierge who received us when we arrived.
Free internet, good location with free shuttle to Chamonix.
The room was OK but old-fashioned decor; the (indoor) pool looked inviting; quite close to the village centre with some basic shopping, bars, restaurants available. Good mountain views. Small room, bathroom and shower.
Very comfortable staff helpful
very pleasant and friendly good facilities would stay again
The views of Mont Blanc outside our bedroom window. Breakfast was good The menu for the evening meal was not to our taste.
Very good hotel, nice courteous staff, fantastic view from Mont-Blanc room. Nice garden with outside pool, you can swim and have view of mountains, sunbeds in the garden. Bus stop to Chamonix in 5 min from hotel, Bellevue and Prarion cable cars are in walking distance from hotel. Good breakfast. Not so good dinner. For dinners I can recommend excellent grill restoraunt near Takonaz bus station. It's about 15-20 min walking distance from hotel direction to Chamonix, but really best place to eat that area.
Friendliness of the staff and their willingness to help their guests, great food in the restaurant & overall value for money. Motorcycle friendly.
The cleanliness and the mountain views from balcony. My daughter loved the pool. We stayed two nights but only recommend the hotel for sure. Just the fact that the service starts only at 08:00 am.
Good location with fabulous mountain views. Lovely to have indoor pool as well as a small outdoor one. Balconies were lovely. Outdoor pool very small. Dining room rather dated and tired.
Nice place just beneath Aiguille de Midi, we were wellcomed by nice and worm people. No
frienyly family hotel and made very welcome will be back again next year
friendly staff, good food, comfortable room and good location. perfect for our weekend ski break
Comfortable bed, plenty of space for 2, good shower, parking space
The hotel is quite and comfortable. The receptionist was very helpful. The restaurant food was not great, and yet rather expensive.
The booking was easy, online. The Hotel was easy to find and had off-road parking. Placed in a small town, with good access to other places. Very friendly and helpful staff. A family atmosphere.
Very nice family owned and run it - beautiful countryside and views from bedrooms - restaurant had nice dinners. Would have preferred bit more space in the bedrooms or beds spaced further apart as it was hard to go to sleep when so close together. Had to ask for more breakfast food each time something had run out - would prefer they keep this stocked up instead of having to ask.
Hotel room was small but clean. Great location only being 2 miles from Chamonix/Mt. Blanc. Great value for the money. Staff was helpful - looking up a French site to tell us which mountain passes were open. Hours for the hot tub are very limited (4:30-7:30 I believe). The bathroom is tiny (like something you'd find in an RV). The heat in the room was already turned off so it was a little cool at night, but not unbearable.
Friendly accommodating owners.Restaurant serves excellent / reasonably priced food. Free sauna, jacuzzi, steam room. No
Lots of hot water. Hotel lacked elevator and our room was on third floor. Very tiring after skiing Breakfast was marginal and we opted to eat dinner elsewhere.Owner was friendly but others seemed preoccupied with other matters. Room was cold.and never warmed up for entire stay.Overall was somewhat dreary.
