Pros: The staff was nice it was really clean plenty of amenities and a great location, and it was to close to other things to do.
Cons: The check-in process took a lot longer than I would have preferred. And it would be nice if check in time with a little bit earlier. However overall my experience is great.
Good6.0
Pros: The staff were friendly and the sheets were clean. Good location.
Cons: The planes that flew overnight. Also I was near the bathrooms so there was alot of opening and closing of the door that was quite loud.
Excellent9.1
Pros: Every HI that I have stayed at has been nice and clean and quiet. The kitchen at the Point Loma hostel was fantastic! I would enjoy staying again and for a longer period of time.
Okay5.7
Pros: New sheets, pancakes, bonfire and nice looking place
Cons: Charged extra $3, i wasn't informed when i made the reservation! It is very far from anything and no close bus routes, had to walk uphill for 40 minutes to reach the place!

Pros: Great staff and facilities
Excellent8.8
Pros: Great location, right in the heart of downtown. It was a block away from a CVS and close to other grocery stores. Extremely close to the Padre's baseball stadium and about a mile or two away from the USS Midway. For the price and location it can't be beat.
Cons: I chose a shared room with 4 other guys. Our window faced the street. I don't drink alcohol so it was a little hard to get some sleep. We either had the window closed to help muffle the noise and were really hot, or we had the window open and had a lot of outside noise.
Excellent10.0
Pros: I like it on general, their breakfast was nice and the staff is pretty helpful and nice
Cons: Did not like the the soap and the room location only it's not facing the street
Excellent8.5
Pros: The room was clean, bed was comfortable, bathrooms pretty well maintained, pleasant staff. Basic breakfast but I guess that is standard for hostels, at least it was something. Not too far from public transportation. HI San Diego took care of my needs while I was checking out the city for a couple days.
Cons: More counter space in the bathrooms would be nice. Several of my toiletries fell in the sink/on the floor because there is not much room for a girl to spread out her things. Also their power source is weak or something. I had to sit around and wait forever for my phone to charge at the end of each day and I tried several outlets in the building. It would have been nice to have an outlet by my bed so I could charge overnight.

Pros: It was so exciting to meet wanderers from all over the world. There are so many stories to be shared and so many opportunities to do so. The Hostel is hospitable and so colorful. The laundry room was also a big plus!
Good7.7
Pros: The staff is young and enthusiastic, very welcoming. The rules in place make you feel safe and the location is great near downtown and major attractions.
Cons: Could use some cleanup in some areas or air freshener to improve air quality in common areas.
Excellent9.7
Pros: Great community of people. There are always fun activities going on every day. You can eat breakfast and dinner there for free! It was by far better than any hotel I've stayed in =) Thank you!
Mediocre3.7
Pros: Not much; it is mediocre
Cons: First of all rude staff (at least one); then other staff not really compatible and/pr knowledgeable (young girls arrived fresh from Brazil and put in charge of reception). The place is small, not really much of common areas (other than outside); Not very clean; congested bathrooms (upstairs where I stayed there was just one single bathroom for 4 room (that is 24 people...). Very small kitchen and dining room; and no breakfast (other than the instant packet of oatmeal). For the booking process online I give Zero; it is kind of misleading, in few ways. Total score - mediocre minus minus.
Excellent9.4
Pros: every staff member was smart and happy
Cons: bedroom smelled in morning due to no windows and no air movement

Cons: Stunk
Mediocre2.0
Pros: Nothing
Cons: No one answered the door or phone, I had to sleep in my truck that night. Disappointed in the unprofessional of this company
Mediocre2.0
Pros: Nothing
Cons: I only wanted to use the shower after a morning at the beach. I was getting ready for a meeting later. I could not find anyone to check in with, so I went to find the bathroom. The shower had a urinal in it that was filled will pee! The sink had a tampon floating in it. I left and didn't use or touch anything.

There are hostels near the Pacific Ocean and its beaches; in Little Italy, which is known for its street food and restaurants; and in the Gaslamp Quarter, which is famous for its nightlife. San Diego Trolley operates tram lines, and the MTS bus rapid transit system, which includes commuter and express services, allows you to navigate the city. Some famous landmarks in the city are the San Diego Opera House, the Port of San Diego, and PETCO Park, home to the San Diego Padres MLB team.
Singles looking for an affordable, quality hostel in San Diego should check out USA Hostels on Newport Avenue at Ocean Beach. Not only does it offer great accommodations, but there is a free shuttle that ferries guests around various tourist sites in the city (e.g., La Jolla) and a schedule of events that includes bi-weekly bonfire nights and pub crawls. Ocean Beach Kebab and Ocean Beach Sushi are restaurants nearby, and The Harp and Kilowatt Brewing are neighborhood bars to enjoy.
Ith Adventure Hostel San Diego is located on Front Street in the city’s Little Italy district, and it’s close to the USS Midway Museum, and the San Diego Air & Space Museum. This property has several 10-bed dorm rooms with shared bathrooms, outdoor terraces, and a bicycle rental service, which you can use to visit a few of the landmarks in the area, such as Mission Bay Park, La Jolla Cove, or Pacific Beach Community Park. Oscar’s Mexican Seafood and Miller’s Field are among the places you can eat and drink.
