Very unhappy with Hassan at the pick up. I am used to car rental agents trying to sell you all kind of upgrades etc, but 1st he tried to scare us about the tires, saying they were summer tires when the sign clearly said “all weather tire”. When it came to paying he quoted me the amount in US dollars and told me to pick my currency at the pay pad- of course one picks the currency familiar with and the one that got quoted. At the moment I had picked US the rate jumped up quite considerably. When I asked him about that, he said I should have picked danish crowns. He hadn’t mentioned anything about a fee for choosing US dollars. We have traveled a lot in Europe and I have never experienced being charged an additional fee , and a quite hefty one. When I asked him to cancel and let me redo, he insisted he couldn’t do that. He said if he would do it we would have to wait until the next day to rent the car. If Sixt charges such a high fee the representative should make customers aware of it prior to choosing. Makes you feel taken advantage off. Also, our car did not have an ice scraper so we had to buy our own. Small thing, but I was already quite upset about the whole fee thing, I still am almost 3 weeks laterReviewed 1 Feb 2024

I was 4 hours ahead of chedule because of airline changes. The reserved car was not ready so I had to spend over two thousend Kroner extra to get a car. Do you want me to come back to your company?Reviewed 15 Sept 2023

The person at the service desk at Copenhagen Airport Sixt rental, Sebastian, was very friendly and helpful. The fact that we weren't offered the choice of automatic and manual on Kayak's website, kind of created a bit of confusion when picking up the car. But he was able to take care of everything, but at a higher rate. So anybody renting on a 3rd party website should be careful. However, the worst experience was when returning the car, they charged me for a damage that was there already. I had taken a photo/video when picking up the car like Sebastian suggested, but after 2-3 weeks of waiting for a response to the complain I had lodged with customer service, I received no response. Renter beware, be sure to document the damage and probably bring it up at the service desk. No one accompanied us to get the car, so we weren't able to show that there was prior damage to the car already.Reviewed 13 Jun 2022

Confusion at pickupPros:Car that we got at the end was great. Return was smooth and quick.Cons:Confusion, misinformation first day and no car for winter conditions in Sweden, no money back. I had to call Sixt headquarter to sort it out. Car was provided next day. Maybe I should inform to get car with winter tires, although all other rentals I asked had them as standard. Felt scammed at drop off - but everything else gooPros:Great value, polite and efficient pick-up I like Sixt in general and Sixt is my go-to car rental firm in Copenhagen.Cons:Drop off: almost felt scammed. When I picked up the car I walked around the car checking for damages. Saw none but it was DARK and a cranmed space. Upon drop off the representative took out a flash light to check the car and found the tiniest scatch that I had overlooked (had no chance in fact). In the end I was not charged, but not a good experience - I refused the damage and sent an email including a few pics of the car I had taken.Reviewed 15 Jul 2016
