Free wifi, comfy bed, decent shower. Convenient and free parking, close to some great restaurants. Crap TV channels, no on site food/beverage services, small room, overpriced, horrible breakfast, construction on my outside wall early morning,
Despite being in an outer corner room on a very busy intersection, it was extremely quite in our room. We did hear sirens a few times but nothing too bad. Our room was very clean and comfortable with pleasant decor. The breakfast was plenitful and with a fair amount of options. The bed and pillows were both very comfortable. We have stayed here before and would definitely stay again as well as recommend it. Only a slight nit pick, but I would suggest maybe updating the down comforter in the room we stayed (3257) or others possibly. Ours definitely had seen better days and was a lot more worn out than what I would expect from a Joie de Vivre hotel. Do something to fill the gap at the bottom of the door to the room, it's too big allowing air come in and a bit of noise from the hallway.
Nice and pleasant staff - The place is not quiet, loud noise when the neighbor starts water (which woke me up VERY early) - Basic breakfast, expected more.
Good breakfast, nice room, good location for us.
Stayed in three different hotels during this trip. Paid a third the price of the fancy business hotels and had a better experience with friendlier staff and rooms that were on par for a mid-range hotel. Room was clean with a warm décor - felt less like a cookie-cutter hotel room.
There are great people working at Wild Palms Hotel!
Much of the property is under construction...plastic and sawdust everywhere, and workers start very early in the morning. If this was disclosed during booking it would have helped set my expectations of the place. The shower handle was broken off and there was hair in the drain. They are clearly focused on the renovation, not their current guests.
Chintzy Internet that requires reauthenticating every day. Location is not convenient to highways.
Little touches like pool towel service (soft rich absorbent!) and text confirmations. Not really a high end or charming boutique hotel, just a well run chain.
Central location, good parking A little noisy (room was near the pool). Blinds did not close properly and there was landscape lighting outside
Hotel looks great when you walk in. Very friendly staff. Parking available in basement garage which was perfect considering it rained the day I checked out - stayed dry. Room was clean, bathroom was clean. Excellent king size bed. Just the right amount of stiffness. Comforter was cozy. Hotel is on a three lane one way street. Meaning you have to make a u-turn when you want to get back to the freeway. And Sunnyvale lights aren't time-generous with turning light signals. Be prepared to wait a few turns before making that U-turn. Wished the bar was open later than 12am. Caught a Sharks game, grabbed a bite afterwards, came back to the hotel for drinks and the bar was closed. Very disappointing. Room had a stereo alarm with a dated iPhone 4 dock. Did have an auxiliary port though. Pillows are waaaay too soft. Room was located on the main floor. Not as convenient as you'd think if you like privacy. BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: BREAKFAST IS NOT FREE. Over $8 for the standard continental and over $16 for the full breakfast bar - PER PERSON. Billable to your room of course. Still very displeasing. Settled for some subway down the street - $17 for two mouths. You do the math.
Excellent bed, friendly staff who also gave us traffic update Shower was either scalding or freezing, mostly freezing. Thought breakfast was included, but it was $12.95. Paid $17 for 3 incinerated taquitos and an iced tea for dinner.
Ease of access close to shops & restaurants Don't expect to sleep much at night! The Heating/AC unit in all the rooms are so noisy that, not only was I waken up by the one in my room each time it started, but also when the units in the rooms on either side started as well. For the price, it is very disappointing.
big noise in the bathroom
Great hotel, room and staff! Got free upgrade upon arrival and an extra 1/2 hour checkout time so we could go to the next door art museum without a hassle.
Location Bed was uncomfortable and did not have enough covers shower was outdated and shower head was cheap No coffee station in room Sparsely decorated
Fancy, various locations to eat and enjoy yourself with partner and great America in a 13 min drive distance just a great stay after all and great valet service Beware of an extra 100$ charge at check in just in case you break anything in the hotel but will be refunded after check out and line is to long with no one trying to help them out to make the line go faster
Rooms Staff at the door
I liked that it was downtown close to bars, clubs and restaurants.
Wonderful environment, great Beds close to San Jose Convention Center. Very Friendly Staff, impecible Service.
Can't really think of anything. 1. Room was dated. 2. Room with a view had no view. 3. Parking was expensive. 4. Hotel had no charm or allure (other than the advertised picture).
A property in the Fairmont family. Being in historical downtown next to sites of value. Relying on amenities of a high end hotel which did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and helpful in all encounters. Extra fees for wifi these days seems unnecessary. Having to use hotel cards to go between tower and main facility (although security is appropriate).
Clean rooms with feel of knowing they are clean Ac went out. Super hot. Small beds
Walking distance to downtown San jose & Staff was great
Everything was great Everything was good all people there are helpful
check in and out convenience. Movies extremely expensive.
Great location and amazing hotel. The amenities were good as well. The rio was a nice size and I had a view of Levi Stadium. When I came back to the hotel at about 11pm there were no parking places. I believe outsiders were at the bar or guests had their friends visiting. When you are paying for a hotel room it's annoying not being able to park in the parking lot.
Andy the concierge took care of us like an old friend.
The restaurant had very high quality food for the price and the bar was elegant and very accessible. Need to have FREE wifi in the rooms! This is 2015 AND the hotel is in the heart of silicone valley. For shame! Hilton
It's a good hotel with all the facilities you need, conveniently positioned across the road from the Hyatt convention center. No free WiFi, which for the price of the room, I would have expected.
Clean. Comfortable beds. Great shower. Friendly helpful staff.
Helpful and friendly staff who keep up with the demands and requests of the guest. Also, a very quiet and clean space that allowed us to get our rest.
Waiting time at the lobby was 45 minutes to check in. rest room were not to clean
Staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Facility was clean and pretty well maintained. Told hotel staff that both buttons on the heater/air conditioner in my room were broken, which meant I couldn't get heat because I was unable to close the vent. They assured me that they would have maintenance take a look at it.
Bathroom was very dirty. Doors are outside (motel style). Next to freeway. Not walkable.
Excellent value and location if you are working around the convention center or any of the businesses close to it. Great breakfast for a hotel at this price in Silicon Valley.
It was conveniently located. It was not clean or modern by any means. Coffee was not good.
Good sized room. Firm mattress. Hot water without a wait. Good breakfast buffet. The shower head was very low on the wall.
Location, price, bed was excellent Breakfast was not good
Location is really good. Close to 101 and Lawrence in the heart of silicon valley 6 cars got broken into the one night around 10PM when I was there. this happened right outside my room. Turns out they didnt have any security at that time. While inquiring at the front desk, I had a chance to meet the "security guy" who IMO had no skillset to be security. management spoke very poor english. Seemed to be run by mom and pop owners.
On the day after we arrived we got up late so the maid service past us by. Despite going to the front desk around 1 PM and letting them know we were out and about, our room was still skipped. Also the breakfast was blah.
good location to Standford there were big cockroaches that came in the room and no one seemed to care as I reported it several times - the door jam needs to be fixed (room 115) and it looks like other doors too. The air conditioner wouldn't keep the room cool - it would run loudly then stop and the room would get warm.
Breakfast was good and location was great to access Levi's Stadium. Our room was very noisy. We could hear every time a toilet flushed next door and lots of noise from the hallway. Tough to get a good night's sleep.
Breakfast. ..nice bed Unable to watch playoff baseball in my room...
The breakfast buffet was the highlight of our stay in this hotel. Variety of food was good. There was a bad smell in the hallway.
I stay at the Maple Tree Inn when I visit my son and his wife in Sunnyvale. The staff is so pleasant and helpful. I feel right at home in the lobby. The room is clean with all the amenities. The breakfast is wonderful. I would like to have access to the newspaper.
Staff are very courteous. Top of the line toiletries - comparable to 5 starts deluxe. Room, and common areas are sufficiently clean. Nice breakfast included. Nice social/dining room. Address on the internet fail to state that it is on "East" El Camino Real, and since there's a "West" El Camino Real, it's makes it difficult to find. Room and furnishing, while adequately & functional, is rather aged, and "country inn" like. No flat screen TV.
Breakfast was a typical buffet for this class of hotel with cold and hot foods that met my needs. Quick check-in and check-out Good value for the price Booked two rooms online but the rooms were charged different rates. The manager on watch could not correct the charge. The Front Desk immediately corrected the charge the next morning. Room was dim especially by the desk. The desk lamp was too focused. Needed a broader beamed lamp by the desk. Did not have an easy chair to watch TV. Watched from the bed.
location breakfast was to say the least was werid
Comfortable bed, quiet heating/cooling system. Internet stalled occasionally. Freezer portion of refrigerator barely worked and needed defrosting. Highway access mediocre. Only one treadmill. Closed captioning on television did not work.
I was too cold at night, needed a better balanket...
Terrific and diverse breakfast compared to other hotels at this level. Very quiet. Upscale deco and room appointments, but functional. Particularly like that the room was reader and personal electronics-centric, with nice built-in AC outlets on both sides of the bed stand in addition to adjustable reading lights on the outside of each bed's headboard, so that the person sleeping on the outside to the center lamp could also have light to read or whatever without having to employ a headlamp. Very nice upscale shower and bathroom with the minor caveat listed in critiques. Green flush options always nice to see. Adjusting the shower head away from yourself while the water heats up was a a little less than optimal and would have been impossible from anyone much shorter than about 5'4" (average height for American women). The valve that switches the water from the main head to the handheld head was way up there out of obvious view.
Our room was very quiet and comfortable.
freandly personal. good location convinuse parking and reasanable budget.
Amazing views, great service and great bar
Room was excellent, except my city view was a view of the stadium. Can't really complain about that though it was fine. They even sent up a bathrobe to my room when I asked. There was some youth convention going on which wasn't really a problem. However it took me a while to get on the elevator to get to my room
The staf was extremely accommodating and friendly. the food in the restaurants was of excellent quality and the Lounge Bar was an excellent place to relax and grab a light meal. The room was large and perfect for my business trip. I liked everything about this hotel
The design of the hotel is amazing! I love the modern feel and everything feels new. Downside was I came on a day where teenagers called "future business laws of America" were staying for the weekend. They were loud and obnoxious in the hallways, elevators, and at the pool. It seemed like I could never get away from them!
Was given a double bed instead of a king. Uncomfortable and had to sleep in two different beds
Location was great and bed was clean and comfortable. Paid for a room with whirlpool, water went from brown to green. So lovely! Complained to front desk and they pretended that they didn't know about it, when there where clear signs of maintenance in the room. I was just told that I had already paid and that I was good to go. Also didn't appreciate the meddling Indian guy at front desk, asking me where I work and what I was doing there, where I was coming from. Horrible. Looks outdated from outside. Quite loud.
It's nice to have breakfast included. Premium cable tv. We stayed right next to the ice machine. Not fun to wake up to that. Ask to be a little further. Tables in dining room were very squished together. Breakfast ended at 9:30am. Maybe they should extend it til at least 10:30. Possibly 11. I wouldn't stay here more than 2 nights. Very basic.
It was quiet, clean and updated. No complaints Close to what my needs were. Room didn't have a view a little small but fine for me alone.
Location and Bed
Toilet ran 24/7, staff was oblivious while CA was in a severe drought. Toilet clogged, staff gave me a plunger to fit it myself. Dresser drawer would not stay closed, staff was oblivious. TV did not work during 1/2 of stay, received only 1/2 of the adjustment I was told I was getting. Staff was unable to make any decisions without management. Way overpriced for amenities offered!
Cleanliness was average, but I did check around for bed bugs just in case. The outside was dirty and dated and made me nervous to sleep there-- wouldn't come back here even for the price.
On the bottom floor closest to the entry door, was pretty loud. Should have asked for room move options. The sink is not in the bathroom. The HVAC system looks pretty old and was kinda loud. Other than that, a typical inexpensive hotel room. Wasn't going for a luxury stay, just a place to crash.
The staff was great, the facility was very clean, and the location was awesome close to everything. I enjoyed check in and late check out. The staff bent over backwards to make my stay wonderful including letting me get juice after breakfast when I turned in my key and not saying anything when I checked out 20 minutes late. Well done to the management I would give you 10 stars if I could. Please do not change anything except maybe extend breakfast.
The room was large and well equipped with a flat panel TV, DVD player, frig, microwave and coffe pot. The bed was a pillow top bed with four pillows. Also, the breakfast included eggs, a meat, bagels, toast, muffins and of course cereals. Nothing
Lighting in the room was poor, the shower temperature would constantly fluctuate between scolding hot and just barely warm. The hallways still smelled of fresh paint and carpet was a bit tattered. Location isn't bad and the staff and breakfast was great.
Everything, from cleanliness of our room to the friendly service.
Great hotel, big tubs, free breakfast, close to light rail, very close to Whole Foods, and close to downtown.
Is a great hotel, in my groups opinion it was better suited for many people than the Fairmount Hotel. Next year for fanime we will be staying at the Arena Hotel the whole time.
The staff was amazing at accommodating our requests. I got the exact room I had hoped for. Convenient mini fridge, microwave, and disposable plates, silverware and paper towels were stocked in the room. There was a TV and a wall mounted radio, although it would have been better if the radio had a USB connection so we could play clearer music through our phones. Never got a chance to use the spa tub feature, but it looked like it would have been nice. We were literally right next door to CVS Pharmacy for any last minute necessities. I was also excited that Whole Foods was a 5 minute walk away at most. We had an easy walk to the SAP Arena where we watched the concert with the convenience of leaving our vehicle in the parking lot provided by the hotel. That saved about $25 in itself, and saved us from the concert traffic afterward. We were pleasantly surprised by the hot, cooked breakfast they provided from 6:30 to 9:30 am. Bacon, eggs, fruits, pancakes and french toast, plus other items we were too full to try. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel, especially if you are seeing a show at the SAP Arena. Update wall radio to allow USB hook up to smart phones. My fiance states the bed was comfortable, but to me it was just okay. You could hear people running around and cleaning going on during certain hours, but it didn't disturb my sleep. Overall, I had a very positive experience at this hotel.
Location was convenient The staff was unfriendly, I did not feel welcome. The lighting in the room was terrible, air conditioning difficult to adjust, and carpet was dirty
Nice staff Being woke up at 3am due to excessive loud noise outside the hotel window
The hotel is dated and could use a remodel, but it was reasonably priced. The room was clean, large but old. There was a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom which we didn't use. The switches and timer where outside the bathroom which dated the place. Still the room was good for what we needed it for. We had a good stay there.
The room was beautifully remodeled with high ceilings and lots of space. Continental breakfast was filling and fresh. My first impression of the hotel was not great, however, the staff was friendly and the rooms were very clean. The rooms above us were a little noisy.
You can't beat the price and the location I also like their breakfast .
Room is very clean and quiet. Love the Jacuzzi. Need more cable channels.
perfect for business stays
Very nice and well equipped appartments, good price, good location, free underground parking
i liked the independent nature of the inn - you could go directly to your room from the garage, rather than going through the lobby. great breakfast, happy hour, and snacks at front desk upon arrival. great housekeeping staff and nice touches in the room - i.e., bottle of water and premium chocolates to say hello. i liked the clearly clean, shrink-wrapped dishes, glasses, cutlery. centrally located - near a shopping center to get groceries and manicures, etc. i will definitely stay here again.
Very quiet, nice breakfast, large room. Our room was just steps from the lobby despite apparent low occupancy for the holiday weekend. The room was missing a few amenities - hair dryer, hand towels, tv list, any kind of directory about the hotel.
The stay overall was great. Clean, big room, & bathroom. They even provided some good channels on direct tv to watch while staying which is a bonus. While checking in, receptionist was not friendly and did not go into detail of why I was getting charged 200 deposit.
Nice hotel and I very clean room, will be coming back for more stays. Front desk took way too long to give me a room 45 minutes.
Service was terrible. Rachel the hotel manager was a nightmare to work with. Contacted main manager and never received any follow up
Breakfast had a nice variety with a waffle maker and omelet bar. Happy hour is a great break and a nice touch. The front desk staff were nice and the room was well made. WiFi was reliable and quick. Parking was included.
Very courteous and friendly welcome. Ready to assist and excellent services.
Modern, clean. $10 a day parking fee
Nice, clean comfortable. $10 per day parking.
What we liked the most was how new the hotel was and everything smelled new. Great price for a very nice room. We stayed a few nights and the first night we didn't sleep well only because we had foam pillows which was too hard and too high. We spoke with the front desk the next morning and she said we can request feather filled pillows instead and we slept much better the next night. So make sure you ask for feather. Also in the room we were 4 adults and the room only had 3 sets of towels.
The room was clean and tidy. Very simple, no art or decor to speak of. The lobby looked new and modern. Staff was very professional and nice. The HHonors floor was still in carpet from the 90's. Very old and out-dated. The room was very dated as well. My daughter who is 5'4" could press on the ceiling tiles, they were so low and old.
Pam at the registration desk was friendly and professional. Great first impression! I did not receive the complimentary breakfast that was advertised; confusion about a coupon. I was a bit disappointed in this.
Very friendly staff. Nice breakfast. The hotel nickel and dimes you. $2.50 for bottled water, $19 a day for parking, expensive breakfast and dinner.
The airport shuttle was terrific to have.
Rooms are spacious and clean. You have to pay for almost everything else; internet, parking, breakfast.
Warning: Parking is NOT free at this hotel, not even for guests. You'll be forced to pay $20 to park per night! This made for a very obnoxious surprise during check-in.
The close proximity to the light rail and bus stops ,with very friendly and helpful staff Only two sachets of coffee left in room to use which meant after a night cuppa nothing left for the morning. When I left a note to the maid asking for more only one more sachet was left ---barely adequate for two people!!??
Love that every room has their own balcony for fresh air. Great ammenities down stairs and friendly staff! I always enjoy the excellent customer service here. The location of the hotel is convienent, close to restaurants, shopping, and airport. Going in and out of the parking lot became an issue. At the Doubletree guests have the option of valet or self park (you are charged a nightly fee per night). We chose to self park, upon entering and exiting guests must use a parking ticket to do so, the parking meter ended up not working so we'd be stuck for 15-20 minutes along with everyone else trying to get out. They should use room keys for this versus paper tickets that eventually get bent out of shape.
I was charged twice for parking at the hotel. We were not allowed in/out entry into the parking area with our room keys. I was charged for parking at the parking gate and on my final bill. I called the hotel for REFUND and I haven't seen the refund on my bank statement as of this moment.
Very clean and quiet. 2 room 2 bath is fantastic The location is a vit too far of the beaten path
I really liked the room itself, it was like home away from home and it was very clean. The staff was very helpful and professional It was great, I liked everything!
Stayed at the Staybridge Suites with family for 5 nights. The hotel exceeded my expectations. It was recently remodeled- the rooms were beautiful- lovely decor, clean and the beds were very comfortable. It was quiet at night and the breakfast buffet offered many options so there was something for everyone. Would definitely stay again.
Cleanliness and amenities
It was clean. Breakfast was pleasant. Staff was nice. Quiet, well kept. Over all a very pleasant stay. Staff wasnt too informed on the area around the hotel or on transportation to the stadium.
Large rooms.. very comfortable.. calm location.
The feel of a home or apartment..did not want to leave simply amazing...the breakfast was by Far above and beyond my expectations. 10 rating Is simply an insult to the establishment. That we couldn't live there.
Every Residence Inn that I have stayed at over the past eight years has been a pleasure. The Silicon Valley II is no exception. Clean rooms, nice public spaces - inside and outside - and very friendly and helpful staff. Doen't get better than this. My room key failed several times in a row on the first evening of my stay. Of course, my hands were full, I was tired and ended up frustrated. Pretty minor, but not at that particular moment!
location, quality of room decor paying for daily parking. low speed internet.
I stay there every 3 months. Always nice and clean. Once they had overbooked and sent me to nearby property of their's on Lakeside.
Close to the freeway is a real plus. It is an older hotel, so does not offer some of the upgrades that you can find at newer Inns. Over all it was a very pleasant place to stay, the staff was very nice and helpful. The grounds are well maintained. The breakfast assortment was very tasty. I would stay here again.

Nothing I was awakened at 3:00 a.m. by a mouse rummaging in a sack on the dresser. I was alarmed and tried to gently poke the bag, not sure what was causing it, until I saw the mouse jump out and run down the back of the dresser. At that hour of the night I had choice but to move to another room. The next morning I asked for my money back. Management was not willing to refund it. If a mouse in the room isn't reason enough to give customer a refund, what is? Hotel staff were unsympathetic and condescending. Deplorable. I question that Day's Inn allows this place to belong to the franchise. Do they have no minimum standards?
Staff was friendly. Location good. Facilities run down. TV didn't work.
1) Room was nice 2) Bed and pillows were very comfortable 3) Friendly front desk personnel 1) Breakfast could have used a little more variety 2) Group of 'kids' hanging out in the parking lot on Friday night playing music fairly loud out of their vehicle. 3) Cleaning crew didn't clean my room 2 of 5 days
Spacious room, free wifi, mini-fridge in the room is a nice bonus. Bed was not comfortable. Lack of carpeting in the room was a bit strange.
The location was good and the inside of the room was much better than you would think from the outside. There is a clean pool. The building looks old and the fact that your door open to a parking lot is not so appealing. Breakfast was free and you get what you pay for...
The front desk staff was very rude ! It was a old guy asking strange questions. We won't chose this hotel next time.
Location. Price. WiFi wasn't great. TV didn't have most channels. Noisy AC. Staff barely pleasant - in front desk.
The staff gave us service that was beyond expected
Breakfast Access was great, and good selection of breakfast choices Had bugs in restroom, & few bugs on TOWELS. And the front a Desk Staffs were so RUDE
Easy to check in, rooms were clean, plenty of pillows to go around. Good enough for the price. WiFi had inconsistent ping, AC was very loud, no free power outlets next to bed.
Room was big and clean. Shower was hot. Good for my one night stay. Right off the 101 so good and bad. Can hear the highway and a hassle to get to. Cleaning lady did walk in on me with out knocking but apologized. Other wise no complaints.
