Terrible terrible company. They gave away our car/cancelled our reservation and never gave us any solutions. Walked away from us while we were talking to them. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE.

Took a long time to get car due to offsite location. Charged an extra $40 for additional mandatory liability insurance’. Not worth the hassle of this rental.

1 hr to pick up car. There were two people and only one person with an open register. I got there 10 minutes before 7 am and left at 8 am. Drop off was very quick, thankfully

Horrible - do not book with NextCar. They denied my car insurance because I was not the primary policyholder. I have full coverage insurance, so there was no logistical reason to deny it. The supplemental insurance cost as much as the rental itself. I was never told at the time of booking that I would be forced to use their insurance if I wasn’t the primary policyholder. I was only told so 24 hours out from my booking. I’m actively trying to get a refund for this.

It was great! We only needed a rental for one day while our own car was in the shop. Picking up the rental was efficient and there were no hidden fees or pressure to upgrade. I paid what I expected. Returning the car was easy and fast. Representatives were friendly and knowledgeable. Would rent here again.

Drop-off was great.

Cons:

I'd been told that the pick-up spot was at the airport but it turned out to be quite a ways away and we had to take a cab to get there. The clerk sent us to the wrong parking spot for the car and we had to find it on our own. There was a disconcerting "thud" noise and jarring when idling.

Wetting a car down does. Ot mean it is clean. When it dried it was obviously dirty. I didn't rent it to impress anyone, it just seemed like a deceptive practice.

Firstly, when I arrived at the pick up location, the associate did not great me. Granted, he was on the computer tending to a customer that was in the waiting area, but he could've looked up to acknowledge I was there and would be with me when this current transaction was done. Second, admittedly, I wasn't paying attention when I made the rental and clicked suppliers choice. This associate gleefully told me he would be giving me a minivan unless I chose to pay an additional $10 per day for a smaller car. He also gleefully added that when he was at the airport, he would give travellers pick up trucks on purpose, as his way of punishing people for picking "suppliers choice". I opted for the $10 additional fee because I didn't want to deal with a minivan, but when I got to the garage, there was no cars in the garage except for a Hyundai Elantra and a Tesla. My suspicion is there was no minivan in the first place and I would like this fee reimbursed. Moreover, seeing that there were smaller vehicles, that means it was his discretion to give me a smaller car even if I did accidentally choose suppliers choice, but he smugly chose not to. Finally, when I drove the car the following day to Seattle, there was alert that my tire pressure was low. Turns out, not all gas stations have pumps and it took me 30 minutes to get to one. While the car indicated that the left rear tire was extremely low, turns out, all 4 tires needed to be pumped. The cost was $3.50 and I would like to be reimbursed for that cost. I would also appreciate additional reimbursement for the inconvenience, but I will let you decide what you think is appropriate. I can provide photographs of the tire pressure if necessary.

Pros:

They did not have my car although I specifically called to make sure the car was going to be there. I was on the phone with the reservations central for about an hour and they refused to talk to the office people. They sent me to Hertz (next door) for double the price, who has the same owner. SCAM !

Great car, drove well, man at the counter was really nice.

Cons:

They didn't seem to know anything about the online booking system that I used, I ended up paying almost double because I wanted a GPS system which upgraded me to a nicer vehicle. However, I booked a Rav4 which is pretty comparable to a Chevy Esquire. I just feel like I overpaid for the upgrade.
